Baghdad, Presidential Palace
The President was throwing a party. The successful takeover of the Arabian Peninsula had been finished, with lighter casualties than expected. Food was plenty, champagne bottles were drained to the bottle and the band played a popular song:
“I saw you for the first time,
on the Tigris.
I wanted you to be mine,
That was my sole wish…. etc.”
The president was looking down from the balcony on the dancers in the garden. He had plans and work to do. He returned inside but instead of going downstairs to join the party he went one stair up and walked to the west wing were his office was. He had summoned Hengist, al Arabia and Chief of Staff Fakasan to the office. Plans, made long ago, had been reviewed and at some point adjusted to the present day means. The plan :”Operation Shining Water” would be part of a much larger and more important plan. Operation Supernova was about to begin…”
John ar Albeigha: ”Well, Fakasan. The plans. The time is right, we need to execute our plans now. And decisively.”
Field Marshall Fakasan: ”The plan is grand and difficult. But we got the means to do it. Let me explain:
The operation will be set in several stages, in which we will attack different targets. I made a short presentation. Before the entire operation starts we have to do a few things. We must have the supplies to support a 8 million man army, not included the reserves and logistics. We must have enough reserves to keep rations as minimum as possible. But now to the plan.
Phase one- Diversion
This will be a bit more complex, but for the rest similar to Operation Shining Water. A grand leap for the Suez Canal will be expanded into a large attack on Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti. This will give us effective control of the Red Sea and thus the Suez Canal. We must strike hard and fast. Air Force will pave the road with a 7 hour bombing on major targets. Artillery will join in but will last 9 hours. The last three hours will also see a mortar attack on border positions. The Third Marines will land in Djibouti, to be followed by the Fourth. The First and Second will attack Eritrea. Speed is crucial. 1.5 million Men will storm Egypt and Sudan. The second wave will be .5 million strong. Fighting mustn’t last long for Phase two must start ASAP and with Africa relatively secure.
Phase Two- The Great Leap
The Second Ambiphious Army (consisting of the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th) will land on Cyprus (the 5th) and near Antalya (6th, 7th and 8th). Cyprus has to be taken, especially the former British bases must be taken quickly. The Med. Fleet will give support, air support is limited to a few squadron’s of B52’s and air wings of the carriers. The Turkish Army is very efficient, well trained and well equipped. The invasion must draw away attention from the borders, where a non stop bombardment will commence two days after the start of the landings. The bombardment, made by artillery, mortar and aerial units, will last three days and hopefully destroy border troops and break there moral. Air Bombardment will delay or hopefully destroy reinforcements. After three days of bombardments there will be a twenty minute pause to clear the view. Then armored units and mech. infantry units will storm into Turkey under cover of choppers and fighter planes. A force will move along the eastern border to cut of out side help. Other units will move into Turkey proper, and link up with the landed marines. A total Force of 4 million will be used. Phase Three will start two weeks after the surrender of Turkey….
Phase Three- Immortal Moment
2.5 Million men in Turkey and 2 million men in Iraq will move in Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The forces from Turkey will move into Northern Iran and the Caucasus states. The Iraqi Forces will move into Southern Iran. The plan is quite simple, advance over a broad front ASAP. Army A will move towards Georgia via the port of Batum. The Army will continue into Azerbaijan where they will Link up with Army B which has swept through Armenia and the Azerbaijani enclave there. The combined Army will move on to Baku. That is the end of their campaign. After that they will garrison the Caucasian countries. Army Group C will move towards Teheran via Lake Urmia, Tabriz and Qazvin. After that they will continue towards Mashhad and secure the Northern Borders with Turkmenistan. Army Group D would advance from Babylon to Hamadan and continue through the Salt Desert towards Afghanistan. Army Group E would Drive on towards Isfahan down towards Kerman and the Afghani Border. The last Army group, group F would advance along the coast towards Pakistan.
If we succeed…”
