Nikolai watched the map carefully and raised his eyes after a while to the videotelephone screen.

`General Korov, whats the situation of the fleet?`

`6th Amphibious Assault Fleet covered by 1st, 2nd and 4th Carrier Fleets is at 100 miles from the tunisian coasts sire. We are ready to go as soon as we have your permission`

`You have permission Gen. Korov. Good luck, and... dont dissapoint me`

`Yes sir!`

Nikolai turned and smiled as the video link went black. And so it begins, the calpian expansion.

100 km of Tabarka, 0500 hours

As the orders started pouring in, amphibious assault ships begun their trip to the beaches of Tabarka. As the marines started loading the landing ships they saw hundreds of C-130 transport planes passing over their heads towards the city. General Korov watched them with satisfaction as his plan was beginning to unfold. Ten thousand paratroopers will soon be unloaded upon the unsuspecting citizens of Tabarka, securing the landing points and taking over the port, so that the main calpian forces can unload from the Ro-Ro ships. At the same time, twenty thousand marines will be securing the beaches and proceed with the pacification of the town. He grinned and turned to one of his officers:

`Launch Prowlers to take out their air-defenses, Eidolon and SuperHornet fighters to destroy the enemy forces and protect the C-130`s. And order the arsenal ships and cruisers to open fire on the enemy positions, but make sure they dont destroy the port facilities.`

As the orders of Korov started arriving to the ships, waves of fighters were launched at the same time with hundreds of cruise missiles, all of them with the role to take out any enemy forces the reccon planes or satelites might see.

Tabarka surroundings, 0600 hours

After one hour of constant bombardment from bombers and ships, the small tunisian forces that were protecting the city were either destroyed or too demoralised to be able to stop the swarms of paratroopers and marines that were assaulting the city. As soon as the port was secured, ships loaded with troops and tanks begun to unload and set temporary camp outside Tabarka.
As soon as the logistical part will be set up they will begin their assault in Tunisia. More then two hundred thousand men would be used, as the 3rd Army will go for Tunis and the 4th towards Beja.

2nd Day, Tunis

Gen. Korov studied the map of northern Tunisia as the distant rumbling of artillery continued. Bizerte was taken by the 18th Mechanized Division couple of hours ago, and Tunis was under the assault of the paratroopers and marines. In the meantime 3rd Army was aproaching Tunis to finish off the last pieces of the weak resistance that was encountered. Reports coming from the 4th Army showed that they were heading towards Le Kef, storming through the tunisian troops in a Blitzkrieg war like this country has never seen. Hundreds of planes and helicopters, combined with cruise missiles and advanced special troops were tearing the country apart while the calpian divisions were advancing. Casualties were there, but not enough resistance to stop the Imperial advance. Couple of hundred dead reported so far, and elements of the Urban Combat Army was tagging along the main forces, occupying the cities and making sure the small pockets of enemy resistance were dealt with.
