The collective and the forces of chaos unite

The war with them was over, Chronesia and the Collective were at a tenious cease fire. The Collective, seeing their military and technological might sought more. A borg sphere class vessel exited a gate rift near their border and sent a subspace transmission on all frequencies.

"This is the Borg Collective of Blackgrue requesting access to the nation of Chronesia. We're an unarmed peace envoy, confirm please."

The sprawling dock station of the Adeptus Mechanicus hovered far above the world of Chronosia Prime; the main docking centre and core defense network of the world. Heavily armed, heavily defended, it sat ominously, its technological sensors scanning the Borg vessel.
"Proceed, in the name of the Blessed Machine. You are relegated to docking vestibule 03; you shall be greeted by Priests of the Machine God. We repeat; Borg Vessel, you are cleared for landing."

"Acknowledged."

The sphere, not having the proper docking equipment, quickly preceeded to grow an outward lattice to the exact size and shape of the docking port within the span of two minutes. It attached and the seals were airtight.

An airlock that wasn't there pnly an hour before opened up and behind it was a borg queen and a small entorage of security and engeneering drones.

Resplendant in the blessings of the Machine, stood ArchMagos Ezekial; foremost servant of the God machine. The man had no eyes, but the sensors saw for him; he seemed to speak from within the arcane breathing equipment that sustained him, and beneath his robes, there ran more enhancements; cybernetic tendrils haloed his form, dancing with various implements.

About him stood the Skitarii praetorians, their weapons, attached with greatest skill to the flesh itself making them living weapons, raised.

"Welcome, agents of the Borg. I am Ezekial, servant of the Omnissiah, our Emperor, and the Machine God. Tell us, by your....adornments, are you not also blessed by his grace?"

The queen nodded. "Our race seeks perfection. The flawed organic shells we once were could not satify us... so we added the synthetic and use both to achieve our goal."
Chronosia
26-05-2005, 18:16
"We use the synthetic to draw closer to the Machine God; he of the blessed Technology. We welcome you, and see that you are similarly blessed. Our goals, shall cross, permutate, bear new fruit. I have seen this....With our combined forces, our combined Technologies, who can stand against us?"
He smiled "There is much flaw in you; but that can be corrected"
BLACKGRUE

She nodded once again "Our flaws keep us from our goals. If we were to add your technological distinctiveness to our own, we would correct much of the flaws we still have. If you would like, we could construct a permanant embassy here to keep relations between our peoples open."

"Our technology shall remain our own....Unless..." He paused, smiling wryly. "We accept your offer of an embassy; and request that you, your crew and your vessel remain here. In time, we shall unlock much of your technology. Similarly, we shall send a fully crewed vessel to your space; to have our technology and databanks integrated into yours, as yours shall be into ours. That is....fair, is it not?"
BLACKGRUE

She smiled in a gesture of sincere thanks. The collective's last need was another enemy. "That is quite fair. The sphere is a science vessel and is thus ideal for such an endevor. As soon as space opens up, our engeneers will get to work in constructing an embassy, for now the sphere will act as a temporary meeting place."

Enginseers passed by them, headed for the ship as the ArchMagos moved, tilting his head slightly as he looked at the Borg Queen. "Explain to us the nature of your technology; in vessel and in the flesh" He smirked, watching with an inquisitive eye, as the Enginseers, accompanied by Gun Servitors, stepped into the vessel.

"Our nature is that of a multi-tiered collective. We all think with one mind although the queens have a much higher degree of intellegence. We are all in constant communication via a subspace communication network.

"Our technology generally revolves around defence and assimilation, our ships are reasonably hard to kill and logic dictates that if others join us and we add their biological and technological distinctiveness to our own, it brings us and them closer to perfection.

"Biologically, nearly all of us are genetically engeneered and cloned in large vats in our planets. Those assimilated are changed on a genetic level to become truely borg."
Chronosia
26-05-2005, 18:52
"Indeed. The pursuit of Perfection is a noble goal; and thus, one worth pursueing. However, we will not join you, in the sense of relinquishing our free will to your overmind."
BLACKGRUE
26-05-2005, 19:08
"Nor do we expect you to, since arriving in this universe we've sought peaceful alternatives to forced assimilation although we have been known to perform the latter (OOC: referring to Mantika) on occasion. Peace is much more efficient then war in this universe..."
Chronosia

"Indeed." The Magos chuckled slightly, a harsh and grating sound. "Yet war has its merits also. It is what the Imperium is built upon; it is how we grow in strength and technology...THat is the way of the Imperium"
BLACKGRUE

"For peace you must prepare for war... War will come to the collective, and those who dissagree with perfection will be assimilated. But now is not the time... not while we're outnumbered and outgunned by several powers including yourselves."
Chronosia

The Eyesensors of the Magos whirred as he turned from the Queen. "Perhaps it does not need to be so. We will adapt your technology to our own ends; we have uses for it, along with new experiments in...AI that we are considering. developing. In short, you will be of great use to us and we shall aid you. We could launch a vast campaign of mass assimilation with the might of the Imperium. As a matter of fact, a test zone is in the making. The Tyr System, is to be the site of a mass sacrifice to Chaos and the machine. Defile their flesh, usurp their minds...Let them become our instruments."

The queen visibly considerdd this, all the queens in this universe stopped to consider this proposal. "This is a very interesting proposition. And to think, we were at war only a few short years ago over the same system... And we still havn't seen extensive use out of the planitary assimilation platforms... You've got yourself a deal."
Chronosia

"Excellent. You are to begin the sacrifice as soon as possible. You, however shall remain here. Tell me, to the Collective what is the life of a mere few of its drones, or one of its Queens?" The tech priests implanted tendrils whirled, hissing with discharge, surgical implements gleamed wickedly in the half light.
"We require the extensive analysis and autopsy of both vessel and crew. We expect the same once our vessel is taken...Are we understood?"
BLACKGRUE
27-05-2005, 00:54
"We can spare nearly 100 drones, but if you would please wait for us to construct another queen before you dissect me... It will only take a day or so."
Chronosia
27-05-2005, 00:57
"As you wish. Now, is there anything that you wish to know before we...conclude negotiations?"
BLACKGRUE
27-05-2005, 00:58
"Please do not take offence to this but your religion seems rather... intricate. Is there perhaps something solid behind it?"
Chronosia
27-05-2005, 01:02
"The Machine God is the spirit of Technology. There are Machine Spirits in everything, from computers, to weaponry...We differ from many in this place, because we worship the Machine and not the Gods of Chaos, but there is a solid basis. There are the teachings of the Machine, there are the rites and blessings that allow us to use it. There is peace, only in the Machine, flesh and iron in union...."
BLACKGRUE
27-05-2005, 01:06
she smiled deeply "Amen to that. Biology is deeply flawed. I shall begin sorting out unnessisary drones... Although I believe you may also be interested in witnessing our assimilation process as well and any one of them would be happy to demonstrate on a prisoner or political dissident if you were to give them the aproval."

"Of course; we are intrigued in learning everythign we can asbout the technology of our new allies. Our knowledge and yours will grow, spread, bear fruit and change the face of this galaxy. Our Emperor knows that you have great potential within you..."
BLACKGRUE

She bowed "Thank you. I beleve that's everything. Unless there's something else you need to know..."
