USTIO Detonates First 10 MT Nuclear Warhead
At 5:00am GMT today, the very first nuclear war head USTIO has developed was test detonated over Cowley Desert. It has been a long time since USTIO decided to inform the world that it would be nuclear power and has purchased weapons and created it's own. Last week, USTIO scientist decided to detonate the first nuclear weapon ever on home soil. And so it was.
The wind was blowing due south-east, away from the major cities and any towns and villages that are expected to suffer from the after effects were evacuated. At 4:30am, one high level Vulcan bomber took off from McStanley Airbase and started it's historic journey towards the desert to drop the bomb in the dead centre of the barren desert.
As soon as the the clock hit 5:00am, the bomb detonated over the desert as the the scientists sheilded their eyes in fear of losing their sight completly. They were reported to be concentrating in their trailer on the monitors which were hidden to stop prying eyes. After the shockwave and the intense light had passed safely, then and only then did the scientist dare look at the cloud that the doomsday weapon
had created.
Results showed no unexpected things, everything has been reported to have gone on without a hitch.
In the eyes of many nuclear nations this will not seem like much, 10 MT war head may not seem that much in comparision to 50 or 60 MT floating around out there, but in the short history of this little nation it is an historic day that will always be remembered.
USTIO's current missile and bomb complement is as follows.....
3 Five MT Short - medium range nuclear missiles
2 Five MT Medium - long range nuclear missiles
2 Ten MT nuclear bombs
2 Two MT nuclear bombs
A small stockpile (And it will remain small thoughout USTIO's future) is cheaper to keep and maintain but there is enough to defend ourselves as today has just proven. This is USTIO's second step on the nuclear ladder.
