Background
With newer surface and submerged warships beginning to employ ultra large torpedo tubes, the Incorporated Sarzonian Navy has seen a need to provide a torpedo that is capable of launching from those enormous tubes. If the torpedo uses a nuclear warhead, it is capable of destroying entire carrier task forces and enemy squadrons with a single projectile. It can also be used as a standoff weapon against coastal defences.

Windham and Green Defence Industries was assigned by the Portland Iron Works to conceive and create a 650 mm torpedo capable of performing those tasks, providing improved range and devastating firepower capable of causing damage to both fleets and very large surface warships. Hence, the 'Bayonet' ultraheavy torpedo was born.

General Information
At a range of 55 km and a top velocity of 52.5 knots, the 'Bayonet' can pack a devastating punch whether it wields a conventional explosive warhead or a nuclear payload. With a weight in excess of 4,000 kg and a length of more than 11 metres, it is not intended for light SSNs and smaller warships, and can only be used in small quantities by all but the largest warships. Fitted aboard an ASROC launcher, an impact from one of these torpedoes can devastate an enemy.

Nice work, Sarzonia.

A few decades ahead of poor old post-colonial Crooked Beat, but still very nice. I would ask if this could be air-launched, but I noticed that it is a mere 41kg lighter than my primary torpedo bomber (Fairey Barracuda). Mabye a re-engined Beaufighter could heft it...

If I'm not mistaken, most aircraft carrying torpedoes usually carry light torps, not the heavies like even the 533 mm torp (think the U.S.'s Mark 48 or the British Swordfish).

This wouldn't be designed for the escorts or the smaller attack subs in my or anyone's fleet. This is purely a fleet killer/capital ship killer and my heavies would be the ones deploying this.
