Secret IC:

Insulam Umbram, Near Risban

Insulam Umbram...
It was an island owned by the Zorag Company, the second largest corporation in the Grand Imperium of Risban. It was owned by the Minister of Industry, who was also a member of the Imperial Parliament, and a descendant of one of the ten founding families of Risban. Lord Richard Gaius Zorag was a billionaire, and one of the most influential men in the Grand Imperium.
He was also the leader of a super-secret organization bent on taking over the world, but somehow that never seemed to make it into his dossier.

Insulam Umbram held a complex bunker built into the side of a mountain. It was virtually insurmountable and, given the Zorag Company's firm grasp on information technology, undetectable by most commercial satellites. But those defenses were nothing compared to what those who were drawn to the complex could do...

The Society of Shadows is, basically, a super-secret spy organization. It is made up of all sorts of individuals, from a president or king to a common solider or CEO. Every intelligence organization within every nation that the Society operates in has been infiltrated, people in their highest ranks being members of the Shadow Society.
Everything is touched by the Society of Shadows.

Lord Zorag had called for a Gathering of Shadows. This was where members would gather and discuss what was to be discussed. At this meeting they would make the plans that would lead to their domination of the globe.

Domination on a global scale...
Compromises of certain individuals...
Rapid changes in government...
The rise of a new world order....

These are the ambitions of the Society of Shadows.
They plan on taking over the world and being seen as heroes for doing so. They wish to start World War III and destablize the ruling bodies in the world. Then, after already gaining control of many government functions, their generals will march in with their armies and put down the chaos, restoring order... Their order.

Deep within the bunker was a large conference room. One black, marble table sat at a far end, over looking many small tables. Behind this rectangular table sat seven chairs. These were the chairs of the Circulate of Seven, the leaders of the Society of Shadows. They called they shots. They would benefit most when the master plan took place. Lord Zorag headed the Circulate. Other notable members were Kimiko Moua of the Real ALM and Richard Lance of Phalanix.

Several people from the Grand Imperium of Risban were already in the conference room, sitting at various seats. They were waiting for others to slowly arrive. All private jets were cleared, given that Brenn McBone, the Minister of Defence for Risban, was a Shadow....

Nearly undetectable by conventional radar due to a combination of a radar absorping (NOT absorbing) coating and an IFF scrambler, the private jet swooped gently down from the sky. Six figures stepped from the plane. The first quickly scanned the landing area, out of habit more than necessity. One of the most successful black ops men in Bellania’s history, Jackson Ripland had been brought along as an adviser, rather than security. The second man was the reason the first was unnecessary as security. One would think that bringing a single man for such a purpose would be foolhardy, until meeting Lt. Albert Braddock. Standing six feet, four inches, he had previously been mistaken as tanks, mountains, and other such large immutable objects. A man of few words, he would play a background role.

The remainder of the men emerged in a small group. These represented some of the most powerful leaders in Bellania. Raif Carlson and Younce Ingly were CEOs of the two largest companies in the nation. It was rumored that they had their fingers in everything from uranium to DoD development to cat food production. Tyrel Cunningham was a mid-level government employee in the Department of Defense. He was the main reason both Raif and Younce had gotten those DoD contracts. The last man seemed somehow alone in the group. Surrounded by men, he stood out. Director Brenden Boiton of the CIRA was the leader of the conspiracy. The Central International Relations Agency was officially in charge of “executing Bellania’s foreign policy and gathering intelligence on hostile nations.” Unofficially, its job was to snoop on anyone and anything that breathed, in or out of the country. In a free and open society, this was surprisingly easy to do. Boiton was good at his job.

[Bump in disguise...]

The Bellanian conspirators were led to the conference room. Most were shown to the tables, but Director Boiton was pointed to a special table just in front of that of the Circulate of Seven Lords. This special table was reserved for those who the Society saw as leaders, but not on the Circulate. It was these people who would be the eyes and ears of the Circulate of Seven Lords, and become the governors of their regions when the Final Plan came into effect. These were the commanders. If a member of the Circulate were to be compromised, a replacement would be chosen from this table.
Boiton was a prime candidate indeed.
"Welcome, representatives of Bellania," said Lord Zorag. "Help yourself to a drink and some conversation whilst we wait for the others."

The Circulate's table and the commanders' table were the only ones where light allowed you to see everything of everyone sitting there. The tables away from these two, however, held dimmer light, casting shadows over the faces of those who sat there. While the only ones permitted into this room were the leaders of this society, they were still quite literally kept in the dark about everyone else in the society. Sure, they could talk to those around them. But, if someone made a point to look around and try pick out every single face in the crowd, that person would be seen as a threat and eliminated. Only the Circulate and the commanders could study their faces. The Master List, a monolithic document that held the names of every single member of the Society of Shadows, and there were thousands of them, was able to be accessed only by one of the members of the Circulate of Seven. There was only one copy, and it was held on the very island where they all met. The Master List was the most protected secret of the society.

Normal soldiers and bodyguards were not permitted into the Conference Room. They were kept in a large hall outside. They were not as trusted as the others.

The Society of Shadows carefully selected its members. Everyone who served was fanatically loyal to the cause of the Society, willing to die for it... And many of the lesser pawns most likely would. The only reason they existed was utter secrecy. If the Society even so much as dreamed that someone was going to betray them, that someone would quickly be taken care off.
It was all or nothing.

Emperor Banan coughed violently as the representitives walked in. He leaned toward Zorag and said,
"I don't trust them. Their eyes tell me they're nervous. Scared. I want to keep an eye on them."

Lord Zorag grinned ever so slightly as Emperor Banan made this observation and comment. He turned towards the member of the Circulate of Seven, smiling calmly. "Fear is a powerful weapon to be used to our advantage," said the Chancellor of the Risban Imperial Parliament. "Besides, if people are in this deep, they know better than to wimp out."

"Hmm. I guess walking into a super-secret meeting full of government officials planning to take over the world is a little nerve-racking."
Emperor was more at ease now until he spotted two men.
"I see our reputation has proceeded us. Earnest Equanant and General Homer have joined our ranks. Why hadn't I been informed of my enemies' initiation?"
