(OOC: Yes, this is Random Kingdom. If you don't believe me then I'll post as RK further down. Due to a lack of response, I decided to close the Exodus RP and found a new nation. For more info on the OOC state of RK and RK RPs, search for "The Ascot Exodus".)
IC: The sun rose over the primitive shacks and hurriedly built tenements of Ascotia, the capital city of the equally primitive and hurriedly put together spiritual successor of the once great Random Kingdom. The Ascot Exodus was just the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, and it brought home the consequences of unprepared and unjustified war.

Now dead, the former Acoran Smith had given his life to the creation of this nation. And now began the struggle to survive, even to outlast the now disputed territory of RK. Even now, a struggle by many nations to take RK from its forcefully installed governments is continuing...

Central Island, New Golden Hills, 24 May 2035. (An estimate). The time period that the primitive Neo Random Kingdomites, or Ascotians as they called themselves in a fanatic frenzy of so-called "messiah worship" (that would dissipate sometime or another into agnosticism) as a variety of things: the 1st Age of Renewal, the Rebirth, the Renaissance, the Post-Exodus, the Years of the Phoenix, and other things.

The truth was that NRK had only been founded for a few years, and that they were about 40 years behind technologically. But aside from this, the Island Committee of 2035-2036 had just been elected (a temporary measure, as the Ascotians hoped to reclaim the Core Government Model from the wreck of Old Random Kingdom) and was about to be announced to the poverish public.

Acoran peered out of the window and stared at the oncoming snow. Somewhere over the sea his quarters in the governmental cabin (Neo RK economy = Basket Case) overlooked, was the uninhabited island of Scania, and further south, the Golden Hills mainland. And somewhere on that mostly deserted island was his father's birthplace. When he'd fled from RK he was only fourteen. Seven years from Acoran Sr.'s death went like seven months, four spent in hiding, and it was then when he remembered how his father died.

Socialist Prussians, 2026, a safehouse in the emptiness. He was sat listening to his antiquated copy of "The Liberation Machine" whilst his father worked in the shadows. It was a farmhouse, and Acoran Sr. had snuck his way into the attic after smuggling his family out of Random Kingdom. He wasn't the only one doing the transfer, otherwise the Ascot Exodus would never have finished in time. No, there were dozens of people he'd recruited...

Acoran Sr. heard the door being kicked down. The last words he said to his son: "Hide! In that chest over there! Quickly!", which he did, but there was only space for him. With no way out and at the the RK Secret Services' mercy, the farmer desperately searched in his mind for traces of Arcoran. He recalled noises from the attic, and directed the two agents there, who found Acoran. Speechless, he put his arms up in mercy, and as young Acoran Jr. watched from an opening, one of them shot him in the head six times with his handgun.

Acoran Jr. smacked his head on the window of the cabin and remembered he was one of the head ministers for Reclamation, or the smuggling and salvaging of useful items or persons from Random Kingdom.

Meanwhile, in Random Kingdom...

A long-distance telephone call, out of the blue...

Morton: Is this AH Reclamation Minister Acoran Smith?
Acoran: That would be me. What is it, Morton?
Morton: Boss, we've found a Yggdrassil mirror... one of the only ones left.
Acoran: Perfect: How do I get in?
Morton: A modem is on its way (I'll deliver it personally), and I'll give you the upload code. Erm, can I speak to Starion?
Acoran: Why?
Morton: Wasn't she involved with the Yggdrassil project? Oh, just get her. We need to talk.
Acoran: Oh, here she is now. I'll get her for you.

Starion: Hello, who is it?
Morton: NRKG Harold Morton, Reclaim Division. We've found a node.
Starion: Excellent!
Morton: Listen clearly, write this down if you need to. Once you get the modem, you'll need the code-generating algorithm, which I happen to have here. Get pen to paper and write...

Morton: ...and then replace D with the base 2 form of the day, Y with the year in RCE (that'll be the year minus five) and N with the global key, in this case 9385. Tap the result into the emergency passcode area and you'll have access.
Acoran: Thanks. Can you give us an idea of what the CGM will require?
Morton: The Core Government Model? Accessing... ... ...oh, it's a big one. Maybe we should wait until Neo RK is more stable, or ask for donations of human resources, aluminium etc. Also, we need the technology to produce the CPUs, etc...
Acoran: Or we could just take the old CGM out of Random Kingdom...
Morton: WHAT? New Hope is radioactive! And the SS will be guarding the area... Too risky.
Acoran: I guess we'd better just bide our time...

And some geographical info for anyone who needs it:

Neo RK makes up the central island in the archipelago of New Golden Hills, north of the original Golden Hills setting. The island itself is actually split into five islets by raging rivers which eminate from the central mountain, and also incorporates several small plots of land dotted along the coastline. The capital, Ascotia, is set around the mountain, and is characterised by its spotless but primitive tenements, lack of major downtown and the dirt tracks and wooden bridges that connect it together.

Due to the youth and poor economy of the nation, there are few albeit large towns with many slums and high unemployment rates.
