OOC: TG me if you want to play Rhode Island, there is a couple things you really need to know before you RP it.
And before you ask, this is on no specific earth. If you really want to know, its on Earth Ramissle-blows-up-rhode-island. That good enough for you?
IC:
Part One: A meeting of the Old Salts Party
Julius Oak walked into the small meeting room in the Sterling Town Office. He was not very surprised to see that he was the only one there. He took a seat at the head of the table, and began to set up his charts. Oak was the official reader of the minutes of the tiny party, and usually just had to show up. But not today. Today was different. Today was the voting day for secession to Ramissle, and he had some very important information to share. After he set up his last chart, he sat down and waited for the other party members to come in. Julius got tired, and reclined his chair.
“Julius? Julius? Wake up, its time for the meeting.” Oak sat up and blinked a couple times. “Julius, its four o’ clock, and the meeting just started. What time did you get here?” He saw that it was his neighbor, George, who was speaking. “About 2:30. Must have wrote down the wrong time on my calendar. Is everybody here?” George looked around. “Yep. You better start your presentation.” Oak got up and began to speak. “As you all know, today is the vote for secession from the New England Union. Thanks to all that crap in Providence, the NEU is falling apart, and the majority of Connecticut feels we should secede. Now, with changing governments, there is always some chaotic messes. I’m going to tell you how we can take advantage of that chaos, and maybe get some revenge while were at it. To do this, we’ll have to get some power in the new government, and to do that, we’ll have to some crafty campaigning.” He pointed to a map of Connecticut he put up. “Now, we have some sure bets in the votes, like the Litchfield and New London counties. But that will only get us a couple seats in the House. We need to campaign in Windham and Hartford County, and try some of that ‘We’re for the People’ crap.” He was quickly interrupted by an older man. “Julius, stop your ranting. What exactly will we be getting out of this, Mr. Oak?”. “It depends" he replyed."How much would you like a house in Newport?”
