The Mandatory Military Service Act 2005
The Mandatory Military Service Act, (hereby refered to as 'the Act') if passed, would require all citizens of able body and sound mind to participate in three days of military training a month. All citizens trained would then be required, if called, to carry out operations of varying importance and type.
Article 1: All citizens will be required to participate in three days of military service a month.
Article 2: Failure to report to training will result in arrest and possible imprisonment, except in cases where there are mitigating circumstances.
Article 3: Minimum jail sentence if convicted will be five years.
Article 4: During and after training all citizens will become members of the Iron Fish Homeland Protection Force (or the IFHP).
Article 5: The current armed forces will be disbanded and become part of the IFHP. Striketeams and Special Ops will be unaffected.
If the Act is passed by Emperor Matthias II it will come into affect immediately and citizens should expect to receive their first call-ups within twenty-days of the Act passing.
The Emperor will decide within twenty-four hours. He will make any amendments he sees fit before passing.
The Emperor also welcomes any feedback from other nations in regards to any changes they would like to see to the act. The Emperor will consider them.
