- Subjects arrived at 0700 this morning and are becoming accustomed to their new surroundings. This experiment is a lot to ask of anyone. Those that survive the infusion will have their lives irreversibly changed forever, but they seem to understand. After all, they were all volunteers. They have no close family or friends, so no one will miss them. Their employers have been compensated for vacation time, so they should be able to return to their jobs after completion of the infusion.
Entry 2 – 1232
- Subjects have been given their first rations of dried Flower of Life petals. The petals were not perceived as especially tasty, and many a grimace was given. This will continue at approximately 1200 hours each day for the next 2 months.
1303.11205 MSD – Entry 1 – 1512 – Day 13
- The first abnormalities have been observed. Subject 3 has reported several hallucinations, 1 such being over 15 minutes in length. The hallucinations have produced visions ranging from fantasies to past experiences. As expected, 3 has descended into a state of advanced mental instability. However, this wasn’t expected to happen so soon. Therefore, as of now, all rations are being cut to 1½ petals per day.
2503.11205 MSD – Entry 1 – 1619 – Day 25
- All subjects are now reporting regular hallucination, although none as severe as those experienced by Subject 3. Those have also subsided.
3203.11205 MSD – Entry 1 – 1424 – Day 32
- Subject 3 has undergone a remarkable experience. In a hallucination, 3 received a vision of a fire in the facility’s cafeteria electrical system. A per protocol, she immediately notified a supervisor, and it was reported to me promptly. I enacted the proper procedure, which in this case was to do absolutely nothing. Activities were continued as normal. At 1137, while the mess crew was preparing lunch, a fire was discovered in a ventilation duct in the ceiling. After quickly extinguishing the fire, the emergency crew discovered a faulty electrical wire to be the source. The fruits of this experiment are beginning to germinate, let us hope they ripen into a fine harvest.

- Subject has exhibited a notable increase in physical abilities. He has completed our obstacle course not only in record time, but in far shorter time than the previous record. Note: the obstacle course is a replica of the elite Special Forces Cyclone trooper training course. 5 has also doubled in strength, speed, and stamina, yet no special training has been administered. I can only imagine the possibilities of how this might affect Force-sensitives, but that is another experiment.
0304.11205 – Entry 1 – 1630 – Day 53
- My worst fears in this experiment have come true, the exact thing I was hoping would not occur has indeed so. Subject 1 has spontaneous developed erratic and sometimes extremely violent behavior, and attempts to subdue him ended in injury to him or one of the orderlies. Non-lethal sedatives have become all but useless, his body simply adapts to the substance and passes it without absorbing much at all. Though I do not wish it, I fear that termination is imminent. I do believe that the person inside this beast that now controls 1 would have so wished it, if only to release him from the monster that has taken control.

- Subject 1 terminated at 0750 by lethal injection of sedatives. Termination procedures enacted by Dr. Logan Satori, M.D.
- After several days of violence and what we observed as primal, even instinctual behavior, the conclusion was drawn that Subject 1 was living in a constant, hallucinogenic state of mind. This led to many injuries sustained by those trying to subdue him, as well as to 1 himself. Therefore it was unanimously decided by myself and my colleagues that termination was indeed a necessary evil. Post termination examinations revealed several “inhuman” physical characteristics. 1 had developed iris-less, black eyes, no other coloration whatsoever exists. His skin developed a sickly, green color, and his hair was lined with oily mucus, secreted by spontaneously growing glands in the hair roots. - Subject 3 continues to predict events with extreme accuracy, while Subject 5 continues to grow in strength. Life has returned to its relative normality at the facility, though there is still a definite air of mourning for our loss.
2404.11205 MSD – Entry 1 – 1452 – Day 74
- A breach of protocol has occurred. It seems that an orderly, one Sarah J. Pukalov has become intimately involved with Subject 4. She conceded that 4 enticed her into intimate activities and exhibited extreme sexual vigor. We were beginning to wonder if any unusual abilities or behaviors where ever going to surface in 4, and I suppose we now have our answer. Ms. Pukalov has been promptly discharged and her contract voided for violation of protocol. When we confronted 4 about this escapade, we threatened to purge him of his supply of Flower of Life petals. He then immediately fell to his knees and proceeded to beg us not to. A curious reaction, could it be that the consumption causes an addiction to the Flower?

- Acting upon my hypothesis, I discovered it to indeed be correct. Normally all subjects receive their rations at approximately 1200. Today, however, the rations were withheld, and the subjects were informed that the scheduled shipment had not yet arrived. After an hour of waiting, the subjects become extremely nervous and anxious, and 4 continuously questioned the orderly as to why they had to wait. Extreme symptoms of acute withdrawal rapidly developed in the hour’s time, and it was apparent that rational thought was beginning to dwindle within the subjects. It was at this point that I decided that the shipment had finally arrived, and the subjects were given their rations. When distributing the petals, the orderlies were nearly attacked themselves by the subjects, a veritable ‘bite the hand that feeds you’ instance. Afterwards, subject 2 approached me and asked of me never to do that again. When I asked him what he meant, he gave me a stern expression and said, “I know you were testing us, I could have told you we are addicted to the Flower. Now I’m asking you nicely, please don’t ever do that again.” Now that I think about it, 2 has exhibited many qualities of one in deep thought as of late. He is working on many projects in a small lab within a lab we set up for him that even I fail to understand the significance of. I must administer an I.Q. test as soon as possible.

- As I thought, 2 has begun to increase in intelligence at rapid rates. His hallucinations have ceased and all he ever wants to do is read or work on his ‘projects’ which he will tell us nothing of. His is capable of performing difficult algebraic and trigonometric equations within seconds, all in his head. Scans indicate high levels of brain wave patterns in previously unused regions of brain tissue, we are merely assuming that this is a result of the consumption, though we have not technically linked them together. It’s really the same for all the subjects, we don’t know why or how these augmentations are occurring, we just know that they are.

- As time draws near for the subjects to be released back into the world, I cannot help but wonder how society will accept them with their unusual abilities and augmentations. It will be several years before the fullness of this experiment is revealed to the public, along with this journal. Until then the subjects are advised to keep their gifts secret, even from their closest family and friends who they will be rejoining very soon. This experiment in itself is not unique, but one of hundreds that have taken place, will take place, and are taking place as I write this log. When the truth is finally unveiled, the citizens of Megas will be shocked to discover that 1 in every 100 of them has undergone the infusion. It will be a glorious day indeed, the apex of my work, I am full of anticipation. Until then, I must remain in the dark, for no one must know of our work here until due time.
