The various corporate leaders that attended the conference banded togethor in their own little allied bloc. This bloc debated amongst itself for a few minutes before propossing an idea. "We, on behalf of the Second Empire, propose that we create a Farbanti Stock Exchange and Farbanti Currency Exchange, where members of the Conference can trade stocks and currency, also determining currency strength. Any other ideas?"

The official of Van Luxemburg poressed the button to speak. "We also would like better tourist relations, and maybe ways to get Tourists moving Easier from one country to another" the official breathed "we could achieve this by opening our borders and/or less controlled border checkpoints, by which I mean, that countries in this conference will open it's borders to eachother.
It would also Increase our trade at a very high rate, as there are no cheackpoints anymore, so no delays" the Official sat down.

David Macker pressed the halovid button on his personel work table and began chatting with the attendees of the conference.

Setting up a stock exchange in Farbanti and a currency exchange between members would be an excellent idea. We formally request all attendee nations to consider opening the doors to foreign banks and businesses. The main centers of which we ask that stock exchanges be set up for local economies to grow and develope.

Tourist trade is a very promising business, but you need a strong advertising industry for it to flourish. We propose that Each nation set up a government supported advertisment corporation to increase international business.

As for our proposal for this first meeting we would entreat all attendee nations to open their ports to free trade between attendent nations. I see that most, if not all of us have very strong economies, it would benefit us all is we could allow free trade between us all.

The official pressed his button again "we hereby fully support the opinion of the Vuhifellian States, and in a matter of days, our ports and borders will be opened, and a new Government company promoting Tourism will be formed.
we would also like to attend the nations here on the importancy of protection of trade and helping eachother if a trade convoy is attacked, we, as speaking in the nations that are attending here, should make clear what and when to do when this happens" the official sat down again and looked around at the people that were looking at him interested.

This time the door opened on the conference hall as David's oldest son, Michael, walked in as the attandee for Vuhifell.

-----

"I am sorry my father could not make it, as you saw ealier he was using halograph technology to communicate to you from Fox Flight 3, however I am here in his place"

Michael stood up, pressed a button on the pad in front of him and sat down again. A wooden panel of the side of the room slided open and a monitor blinked on displaying the first official release of Foxtecha Production Tactics.

"What we all need is a strong economy, that's what this conference is for. However in order for that to be accomplished several things need to be discussed. For example, the lowering of production costs while at the same time keeping those goods at current market price and increasing their quality. This can be achieved by the cybernetic-laser assembly line. Using a series of lasers, robots, and technicians, you can lower productyion costs of any product by at least 40%."

"That is how my father and the Foxtecha Corporation came to economically rule the Vuhifellian Continent. The consumer is the best source of information you need, if theres a defect in a product, make them happy and replace it for them."

Just after his last sentence, Michael's only sister, Michelle, walked in.

Michelle: That's quite enough Michael, we need to get back to the conference. Not discussing industrial tactics.

Van Luxemburg, trade convoys are a precious thing, but lets not forget, we should not depend on physical trade. The growth of the internet is good for us all, and online corporations and governmental subsidies can help online banking, shopping, and other industries grow.

Michelle and Michael sit down.

The corporate leaders debated once again before speaking to the rest of the attendees.

"The Second Empire has already removed all tarrifs between all other nations (save for our enemies), and the borders are already opened. However, it is the opinion of the Second Empire that, as capitalists, we allow our nation's economies to succede or fail on merit, not government spending. We, therefore, oppose the movement to create a government-subsidised tourist corporation or industry, or any other industry or corporation. Such spending artificialy aides one industry or corporation, and, as a result, creates dependence on artificial conditions. Remove those conditions and the industry/corporation collapses.

In place of a subsidised tourist industry, we propose that the governments of our nations simply open our borders and allow a tourist industry to naturally grow from the situation. Several tourist agencies no doubt exist in our nations; why not let them grow on their own, rather than haphazardly spend our taxpayer's money? We view that as the most logical solution to the issue.

Because practices differ between different nations, such as corporate taxes, business laws, and others, we propose we unify those laws, taxes, etc. in order to avoid our corporations wasting money to learn and protect against differing laws. Also, we propose we set standards on minimum wage or maximum ratio (employees cannot make X [the ratio] times the lowest paid employee). Finally, we propose a unified currency, one which will gradually be phased in."

The Official pressed his button for the third time. "Vuhifellian States, we also know the Internet, but when you order, you expect that it will be delivered securely, and we want clear points about this transport and delivery.
Fluffywuffy, we are no truly capitalists, and are not known with "let people manage on their own", we want to offer people and bussinesses the help they need. we will always support our companies and citizens. we agree on you on the unification of laws , taxes and the minimum/maximum wages idea.
but, as we think that a currency is a part of a nations culture, we are not too enthousiastic about this idea. we will however start a referendum about this, so our citizens can vote about their idea about an unified currency.
Mondoth

Mondoth sees merit to these ideas, a unified currency is a strong currency and naturally enhances free trade which we will open with other members of the conference, We will, intead of creating a subsidized tourist industry, create a comission to give and reward grants to companies that will best be able to use them for the economic good of Mondoth with a focus on tourism and we will give all possible aid to unifying trade laws and practices. Our borders however are a different matter, while we are willing to remove a large number of security for members of this conference to move amongst our nations Mondoth has strict health regulations for entering our country that we are unwilling to dismantle. To get around this however we propose the integration of healthcare and medical systems and the stabdarization of health laws which will promote both healthier citezens and the freer movement of people amongst the Farbanti trade conference nations.

"Van Luxemburg, you missed the point in our arguement over subsidising an industry. OUr belief is that subsidies provide artificial aide that the corporation becomes dependant on, and this reduces innovation amongst other things. Likewise, saving corporations that are about to go bankrupt is a waste; they are no longer viable, and so saving them does nothing for anyone, save for that corporation. That is our belief.

As for minimum wage/maximum ratio, our position was to provide an either/or situation. We can all either have a minimum wage law or we can all have a maximum ratio; a combination artificially increases wages and is likely to increase unemployment either by increasing labor costs require cuts or the costs driving work overseas."

The Spartanox official pressed the button and stands up.."We agree in these issues. We think that a unified curency is the best idea in unifying nations in this conference. Spartanox also will open our borders for tourists. With this, our tourist inustries should increase." the official sits back down

Dr. Garret Jackson had until sat quietly, enjoying the food before him, adding to the large mass that was his body, all the while taking in the advice and ideas put before the conference. The United Kingdom, of course, had a great interest in free trade, being an empire based on free commerce free trade was essential.

"Gentlemen, if I may." Jackson began, taking a sip of water before continuing, "as the represenative of the United Kingdom, I believe it now necessary to state the views of my government with regards to the suggestions put before this conference."

"You speak of free trade, and to that the United Kingdom most wholeheartedly agrees with the participant powers. There must be between all parties present, an elimination of tariffs and other limitations on free trade."

"Most industries, as my esteemed colleagues from the Second Empire have pointed out, must be allowed to prosper - or fail - at the whims and demands of the free market. In the United Kingdom, there are of course several exceptions - mainly in industries critical to national security, such as defence, and key technology firms. However, on the whole, our socialist society recognizes the importance in the elimination of articial economic environments."

"Of course, we have our concerns about such prosperity, naturally our taxes and laws foster the development of a business society that ought to care about those it employs and serves - though I full admit its entirety of imperfections."

"Now, the remarks made about the prosperity inherent in eliminating restrictions to physical travel between our nations concerns us. The United Kingdom will resolutely not allow the unchecked immigration, or emmigration of people from our soil. There are legitimate concerns to our security that need to be addressed, and with all due respect to those parties involved, the Kingdom will not lower its gates, all people entering my country will still be required to carry identification and visas and other such papers. Along the same lines, the United Kingdom does not support the adoption of a unified currency. While we will not attempt to stop such a measure from passing should it come to a vote, the United Kingdom will not adopt a unified currency."

"With final regards to be paid to trade security, the Kingdom recognizes the importance of free trade on the high seas, especially since the Kingdom exists on an isolated archipelago in the Pacific. Our Royal Navy operates maritime trade route patrols and secures the sea lines of communication to the Kingdom. As for securing trade routes across all the oceans, that is simply out of the possibilities for the current Royal Navy mission, and we would ask that all parties merely guard their own sea lines of communication. If that is done, I see no true problems to trade security."

"Fluffywuffy, our country has one of the best Social Services in the world, and we see that we can no longer support a bankrupt company, but other companies, like the United Kingdom of Azazia says, are vital to our country, thus we support those companies. our companies remain free of Government control. we think that an minimum wage law is an absolute must, because we don't want people hanging around the streets for food, which they can't pay. a maximum wage is not required, people can earn what they want to, isn't it?

Dr. Andrew Hearte of the Siapian Business Coalition had sat quietly with the various tag-alongs who came with him. He addressed the the conference, "Although I am interested by the idea of a unified currency, and the ports of Siap have been open for trade, I am a little concerned about this debate on minimum wage. Siap currently has in a place a moderately high minimum wage, but that is offset by our use of convict labor in the industries. The convict-lease system is significantly cheaper (to the tune of about two U.S. dollars per hour) paid to the state to compensate for the costs of imprisoning and re-educating these convicts. Where does the committee stand on this?"
