some adventure this was turning out to be, babysitting some wormhole in the middle of nowhere. but, that was the will of the commander, let none pass until the situation was resolved.
frankly, lucius jen-kira could care less about the problems of some group his great-great-grandfather's uncle-in-law had once visited back before hyperdrive was developed, and visiting another star system was an accomplishment. so what if this wormhole was somehow related to that trip. it still was a waste of personell as far as he was concerned.

{ooc: well, the story is a bit complicated, but, we basically have a ship, in an uninhabitable system, standing gaurd over a spacial anomaly of no particular importance exept to the ruling class of one nation, and perhaps really just to the head of the family currently on top.}

lucius saw no need to remain quiet.
"set a automatic beacon, make sure all the asteroids know that none of them are to come this way."
"AS YOU COMMAND, My Lord"

A Kazeci super cruiser appeared.
"Sir, there seems to be an anomaly in the system."
"Well that's why we were sent, to find these things. Start a full set of scans."
"Sir, there is also a ship in the system."
"Hail it, never miss an opportunity to assist another."
"Channel open."
"Unknown ship, This is the KNS Kit. We come in peace to explore the region. May we be of assistance?"

((I'd much like to join the RP, although I am not sure what side I have taken on the matter yet))

Hydrogen-Land's Navy was scattered, since the overthrowing of the Republic standpoint on Hydrogen-Land's planet, Hell, a new underground government had taken over the dry, desert planet, The Iron Fist was trying to rally back Hydrogen-Land's great Military power. All that aside, the Fighter squadron was still operational, under the new command of the Iron Fist.

Delta Squadron was the largest all-fighter fleet in the Navy, it contained a large number of AXEs (Acto-Plasmic-Energy), small fighters with medium sized guns, and DREDs (Detonation-Ready-Energy-Drone), slow flying, kamikaze Corvettes.
Aside from that, Squdron Commander Macpherson flew in his upgraded AXE through the outer system of Hell with his group, when he recieved the message from TIF, a shrouded figure came onto the viewscreen.
"Macpherson, we've gotten word of scantily guarded anomaly in one of the outlying systems, explore the situation, no questions, out."
The radio clicked off and Delta Squadron moved out towards the anomaly, it would be an interesting trip.

"KNS kitt, this is gelfland carrier Battlewolf under special assignment to Thra defense force, captain lucius Jen-Kira commanding. please maintain your distance, we are under orders to allow no vessel to pass through the anomaly."

sir, we have another fleet on long-range, looks sizable.

Macpherson snapped on his radio, and the screach of static was heard, but then suddenly, a voice came on the other end. "This is the Iron Fist, what is your report?" Macpherson quickly fired back, "They have quite a few ships guarding the anomaly that we didn't see last time, what should we do?" A long pause, and then the Iron Fist returned, "Destroy them. End transmition."

Macpherson turned on fleet link, "AXEs, follow all fighters, DREDs must be programmed to ram larger craft, we MUST secure the area, whatever it is..."

"Hydrogen-land ships: DO NOT attack anything even remotely close to the Kazeci ship. Doing so WILL be considered an act of war. You cannot afford a war with the Republic. Stand down. This is your only warning."

The Kitt went to full battle alert.

"Gelfland carrier Battlewolf: Our mission is one of peace. We are here to explore and scan, nothing more."

"Send a message to command. Have a few ships on stand by. If they loose contact with us they are to jump in-system. Apprise the Republic of the situation."

Iron Fist command recieved the message, and behind dark screens the commander laughed, he picked up the radio. "Look who thinks he's a big man, I believe you are forgetting that Hydrogen-Land still knows the inner workings of the Republic, we have it all on file, the attack will commence as planned, the DREDs are already programmed, and the AXE squadron is, well, you may want to check your radar" The radio clicked off violently, and suddenly, Delta Squadron came into view, the AXEs began firing their lasers and missles wildly, a large amount flying off into the empty space, the anomaly was in view, and the Fist was beginning it's clench of it...

"Apprise the Republic of the situation. Bring in the other 2 SC's and the HBC. Battle stations! Battle stations!"

The other Kazeci ships jumped in system. Their Magnetic particle shelling came on line, very few fighters would make it through and most of them that did would be picked off by the PD batteries. The Kazeci ships would not fire unless in self defense though.

They launched all fighters but kept them within the MPS range.

"H-L Ships: What you are doing is an act of war and we WILL NOT stand for it! This is your LAST chance to stand down."

"Apprise the Republic of the new situation and call for aid."

Macpherson clicked on the radio, "Keep up the threats, it makes great distractions!" Macpherson swooped through the scene, firing lasers at the Cruiser, just as the DREDs were nearly lined up for the kill, he snapped his radio on again to Iron Fist command "Requesting Heavy Weapondry, effective now!" The Iron Fist had anticipated as much, and began preparing for launch of DIRKs, (Destructive-Ion-Rammer-Killers), large craft that sport an sharp, Ion tube at nose of the ship, that can be driven through large craft's engines to destroy them quickly, they also are equipped with some low-class missiles. They warped in as many Hydrogen-Land ships do, beacon in, close to the anomaly, the Beacon was sent in via warp, the ships blindly jumped to it, and the Beacon was rewarped back to Hell, A small group of the large craft, twenty to be exact, were sent into battle, surprisingly fast, the DIRKs flashed into the scene, they were just the kind of firepower Delta Squadron needed...

At the other end of one of the wormholes, was one that lay within Ascendancy space, about a parsec away from the Capital System. This had been discovered after a first contact meeting between the Ascendancy and the Gelfland nation.

As a consequence, a large StarBase and DeepFleet Command Center resided here. Many of the Ascendancy wormhole breaches had this kind of defense, though more than half were unstable.

The one near the Capital System itself was enough of a concernt to warrant an entire WarShip Fleet and tasked added two Kushan-Droid Fleets held patrol station along the Wormhole Alpha Route, as Gaian High Command designated the route.

Trade between the two realms was strong, but the wormhole was not the primary route the Gaians took. Fold Drives tended to defeat the need to use them. However it was still a security concern and hence the defenses. It also held an amazing array of other assets, like deep space telescopes, communication arrays, a partial Boson JumpChulp Station, and even a Fleet Repair yard.

Not mentioning the large habitation center, a space station over five kilometers in bulk length and breadth. Looked like a double sided Bespin tabana gas colony, with 'tendrils' that ran to other sectors. It was a busy place, made so to justify a simple 'guard station'.

It was here that disturbing signals were being recieved from another section of the wormhole complex, and they were beginning to call in their partols for a possible attack.

Republic StarFleet Command was soon informed.

Sir, the probe indicates a large number of small craft, as well as a number of larger, less armed ones.
very well, track them.
"SIR, inbound warpjump."
"sentinals to active, ready all fighters."
in the plotting grid, in a rough sphere around the ship, a thousand tiny flames flickered, the sentinals were set, their tiny AI knew no strategy, no mercy, no allies, anything that breached perimiter was a potential target. then it came, the beacon was quickly disabled, but not before the fleet had locked on...
"SIR. multiple inbounds."
"strategy estinmates?"

" full Tacon functionality in three minutes. mains at standby"
"very well, launch interceptors to inbound, assaults when ready."

The DIRKs were unmanned, so any flight direction was recieved from command back on Hell, the DIRKs flew like, well, dirks! They ran in straight lines, only rotating to restrike, they were mostly protected by small groups of AXEs, while the others distracted fighters from DREDs and destroyed the smaller craft, although the AXEs were hearty, it was becoming obvious that they were being destroyed, but otherwise, the DREDs were doing quite well, homing on to targets and self-destructing. But aside, more fighters were needed, and they couldn't recharge the beacon fast enough to send a group of fighters alone, they would have to send a capitol ship. The Panzerfaust II would be just the craft for the job, as a C-class cruiser, it was not the best armed ship in the fleet, but it was fast, and it did have a large cargo bay of DREDs and AXEs, although the DIRKs were the only that could be spared. Waiting for retaliation, the cruiser jumped to the system and slowly began releasing it's bays, and rotating it's three small laser turrets to the scene.

the drone rams were easy enough targets, once the lack of external sensors was realised, the receivers were targeted, and without guidance, they quickly were out of the engagement.
the fighters were more of a challenge, but "SIR, we have inbound, looks like a capital ship"
"assault craft?"
"tacon will be online in ten seconds."
very well, launch the first wave,
the first wave of banshee assault ships launched. their heavier armaments were of little use against fighters, but their target was the cruiser, first, the fireships. {basic gelflandii combat tactics: target sensors ,communications and weapons, engines next. this removes most ships from combat.

The First Fleet of the ISF navy jumped in-system.

"Hydrogen Land ships, this is Lord Commander Andon Aeseat. I command you to cease your attacks immedeatly. Second, Third, and Fourth fleets are available upon notice. They will jump in to assist Republic forces. I repeat, you will cease all atacks at once."

OOC: For those that don't know, here's the layout of First Fleet:
Devastator
Hellbore
180 Superdreadnaughts
223 Dreadnaughts
120 Carriers
24 Command Carriers
370 Assault Carriers
1000 Light carriers
250 Battlecruisers
400 Cruisers

2n fleet has more carriers than heavy hitters, as does 4th fleet.
3rd fleet has as many heavy hitters as 1st fleet, but not as many carriers.

1st fleet alone can commit over a million fighters. 2nd and 4th can probably put out the same amount, if not more. 3rd fleet has a couple hundred thousad.

Oh, and it's not too much of a Godmod. with my nation, they have been at the same tech level, generaly, for the past 19 centures. There has been a large fleet buildup over that time

"This is Iron Fist command, ISF Devestator, why are you meddling? This is much more than you think, and if the Republic keeps sending in nations, than the casualties will just grow, this is greater than all of you, you do not understand." He shut off the com-link, and turned around, walking down the corridor, he stopped at a large red door, he punched in a code, and walked inside, standing stories tall, was the machine...

It was a large, circular panel, with large turbine thrusters attached around it, in the center, large mechanical arms were extended, a worker walked up to the Commander. "It's ready sir, we've even set aside a few of the new defenders to guard it, they're experimental, but are pretty well balanced, three missile bays, and two lasers, as well as a large plasma bolt in the center." The commander smiled, "Perfect, launch it, use as much energy as it takes to warp it in..."

Back on the field, things were picking up, as well as the dozens of AXEs pouring out of the Panzerfaust II, more DREDs were being constructed in the bay of cruiser as well, the AXEs began small hunter-killer flight groups, and the DREDs made long lines to ram large craft, but the Anomaly was the target, and the DIRKs were making a circle around it, assuring that any thing within a certain range would be targeted, things were becoming more organized, but the AXE pilots were still dying, and the casualty level was growing every minute...

In response to growing signs of combat in the end point of one of the wormholes, the Ascendancy elected to send a small 'fleet' of forty Class-A Sensor Probes, and two interlinked comm-laser Drones, to the coordinates of the apparent laser bursts.

They left the Boson JumpChulip Station and entered the wormhole a few moments later, like a swarm of metal bees.

They traversed the thirteen second ride through the wormhole into a literal firestorm of apparent laserfire and goddess knew what else. As soon as the probes exit, they send signals and pictures back through to the Ascendancy side of the wormhole.

Meanwhile, the two comm-Drones began to laser comm selected flag vessels as determined by comm signal nodes, and also broadband, set to short range for burning through any jamming.

The message was simple and terse.

~ :: What the BLAZES is going on here? There's enough plasma arcing through the area to start a plasma storm!

We demand to know what the situation is by all parties, les we find the situation to destabilizing upon an 'official' border of the Ascendany Sphere, and react accordingly to this possible threat.

We expect compliance with this communicae as is asked.

A single ship jumped a few seconds after the Taledonian BattleCruiser.

The single ship was no small ship, though. It looked like someone had taken the hulls of the Devastator and Hellbore, added a few cross braces between them, and made a single massive engine.

"This is the ISF ship Dawn of Glory. We will not open fire. We are here to protect the Hanibal. If you leave us alone, we will do the same to you."

Back in the battle, the Devastator acknowledged the Gaian call. "This is Lord Commander Andon Aiesat, commander of the ISF fleet. We will send you transponder codes to identify us. We recieved a distress call from Kazeci ships, who were under attack by Hydrogen-Land forces. We came to their aid."

348 Particle Cannons opened up, staggering their shots so that there was alwats one firing.

Once the surface was barren, the bombardment stopped.

"Sir, their military assests are too far underground to reach."

"Bring in the Aniahlator."

"Aye sir."

The largest ship ever constructed as far as any ISF person could tell, the Aniahlator was over 1300 kilometers long. The spine of it was a massive gravitational beam. It had devastating effects on a planet, causing the crust to split and sink into the mantle. The liquid mantle was defomed and pulled apart, leaving only the dense inner core of a planet, the outside which rapidly cooled. The core was quickly destroyed over a few years from the impacts of the debris of the rest of it. It createdit's own ravity feild without ower, simply becuase it was so massive. To keep it's existance hidden, it had sheilding capable of sinking it into a sun without damage. It was obvious that that was what had been done to it, as it's exterior was black. The Grav cannon was also cpable of causing that sun to go supernoava, wiping out the entire system. It had taken over ninteen centuries to build, creating a massive rescource drain that was only now starting to recover.

It jumped into the Hell system. It's Grav Cannon was already charged. It ffired at Hell's moon, but not at full powert becuase it was not a full planet. It still retained enough charge to aniahlate the planet. The moon was not destroyed, but pushed towards the planet at several hundred thousand kilometers per second.

"The moon will impact in aproxamtly five minutes, seven seconds, sir."

OOC: First off, the "Transparent waves began to pound the hull of the ship" is godmoding, because you have said that something is happening to my ship, "pounding the hull" to be exact, check around all of my posts, I've said that ships fired, flew, formated, etc. but not once have I ever given an effect, because that is the job of the receiver. Secondly you can't "jam" incoming transmitions unless they are to yourself, because what you are jamming is not the transmition, but your reciever's capability to recieve certain signals, and if you are trying to jam other people's recievers, than you'd have to reconfigure their recievers ability to recieve their own signals, which would be very hard to do unless you were right in the cockpit, the reason you can jam recievers of your own signal is because a jammer reconfigures your signal so that it is unrecieveable by the targeted craft, there, my two bits on radio signals.

"denied, our orders are to remain here, but keep a few sentinals on the retreat, I don't want any surprises from that front."
"rodger"
"causalties?"
"still working, seven fighters have reported in so far, three confirmed assault losses, there's just too much debris to estimate anything yet. -Just a sec, I am getting something.. a raider beacon, they have captured their ship."
(I know, I hadn't mentioned them before now.
raiders: troops specialising in boarding and sezing control of autonomous, or semiautonomous craft, commonly equipped with plasma torch, screwdriver/wrench set, wirecutters, and portable computer.)
"send a message to all remaning ships:"
greetings, I seek no violence, unless you seek to use this wormhole. my orders are to permit no ship to transit.

"Let those H-L ***** leave. They don't matter."

OOC: oops... I meant 130 kilometers. 1300 is WAY to large for anything.

But it's still only a grav cannon, engines, and heavy armor.

IC: "SIR! the H-L ships are retreating!"

"Follow them. I want none left alive."

The Grand Fleet (OC: i refer to my fleet as Grand Fleet when more than one are operating together) followed the H-L fleet, relentlssly firing at them with everything they had. Many fighters had been lost, over a thousand, but the rest kept on coming. jhump Missiles jumnped to within kilometers of the targeted ships, EMCs llaunched shels at lightspeed, Particle Cannons lanced out with their powerful beams, and P-Beams split the atoms of whatever they touched.

Several ships of various classes had been destroyed, but that was paltry copared to the amount of ships left.

((OC- Since were on the topic of oversized vessels.

http://www.freewebs.com/gaianknight/specialassets.htm

The 500km Eternal Destiny A-SSD, and already rped vessel (though rarely used) that is a part of my fleets, and slowly more and more with minor easement into other threads. And I don't expect total acceptance, but give a benefit of a doubt to a vessel pic that I made utterly with 'only' MS Paint over a two day period.

..as such I say because I have my own dang for the biggies. =^^= ))

---

The probes recieved enough signals to send to Command, with knowledge the portal wasn't a threat to Ascendancy security. Still, local vessels and patrols were still at Code Blue alert for a forty-eight hour period..

The present probes still kept watch however, just to be certain. Any jamming would be seen as a cause for upping status alert instantly. Still, they weren't expecting it now.

They however were sending one vessel to personally ascertain the situation, and a ISD-I was being prepared to Fold into the area from the White Diamond System within an hour.

OOC: Tht's a big ship. How much would it cost to buy one?
Gaian Ascendancy

((OC- The Ascendancy doesn't consider things in the realm of cost. Besides it's a one of a kinder like the Death Stars, so no price is listed. You can make an attempt, but good luck there.

..having said that, I got an rp that will 'add' others in a thread, one that will occur after Aleaic is returned from Exile. And that thread will be puny in comparison to other ideas I have in mind. =\/= ))
