Inspired by P3X1299's one, this thread is for the benefit of those peeps who don't know what the hell I'm on about. Also includes several translations, and defines the function/characteristics of various Legions. All definitions are relative to Verghastinsel only, meaning I will include nothing about Romans in the Legion entry. TO BE UPDATED
1st Legion, 'Republikanischer Schutz' - The First Legion. A veteran Legio, formed of men who have already served a minimum of ten years in another Legio. Some cerimonial duties, inc. Chancellorial bodyguards. Motto: "Dum Spiramus Tuebimur" - "While We Breathe, We Shall Defend"
13th, 14th and 15th Legions, Fallschirmjäger - The three Fallschirmjäger Legions. Men of these units are trained in rapid deployment by parachute. Para training is notoriously demanding, and produces tough soldiers. Parachute Legions use the StG05M2 Bullpup AR, and MG05M1 Bullpup LMG.
88th Legion, 'Kriechentod' - An elite Special Forces Legio, formed during the Urelian Conflict, and using similar training methods to the Black Guardsmen of the Generic Empire. Employs five-man Fire Teams in surgical strike operations. Motto: "Animis Opibusque Parati" - "Prepared In Minds And Resources (Ready for anything)".
Battalion - n. An infantry formation, consisting of four Rifle Companies, one Mortar Company and one Command Section, comanded by an Oberstleutnant. Total 551 men.
Company - n. An infantry formation, consisting of three Platoons and one Command Section, jointly commanded by a Hauptmann and a Major. Total 108 men.
Fallschirmjäger - Ger. n. Paratrooper(s).
Feldwebel - Ger. Sergeant.
Fire Team - n. An infantry formation, consisting of an NCO and four Soldat. Total 5 men.
Generalfeldmarschall - Ger. n. Field Marshall. Commander of all Verghastan Ground Forces. Position currently held by Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Nachtmann (53).
Generalleutnant - Ger. Lieutenant-General.
Generalmajor - Ger. Major General.
Generaloberst - Ger. Colonel-General.
Hauptmann - Ger. Captain.
Jawohl - Ger. "Yes, sir" (Verg: If I had five pence for every time I've heard 'Jawohl' said in a film/game then I'd have about three pounds)
Legio - Lat. n. A Legion.
Legion - n. A military formation, consisting of nine Infantry Battalions and three Panzer Squadrons, commanded by an Oberst. Total 4,959 Infantrymen, 51 Panzer XI MBTs and 12 Panzer VII Jagdpanzers.
Leutnant - Ger. Second Lieutenant.
Luftmarschall - Ger. n. Air Marshall. Commander of all Verghastan Air Forces. Position currently held by Luftmarschall Ferdinand Eberhart (45).
Mortar Company - n. An infantry Company, each squad's MG98M2/MG05M1 exchanged for G90 81mm mortar. One per Battalion.
Oberfeldwebel - Ger. First Sergeant.
Obergefreiter - Ger. Corporal.
Oberleutnant - Ger. First Lieutenant.
Oberst - Ger. Colonel.
Obertsleutnant - Ger. Lieutenant-Colonel.
Panzer - Ger. n. A tank or armoured vehicle. (Verg: Didn't you go to school or anything?)

Rifle Company - n. An infantry Company, standard equipment. One of four in each Battalion.
Section - n. An infantry formation, consisting of two Fire Teams, commanded by a Feldwebel. Total 10 men.
Soldat - Ger. n. A soldier.
Squadron - n. A Panzer formation, consisting of four Panzer Troops[/I], commanded by a Hauptmann in a Command Panzer.
StG - Ger. abb. A Sturmgewehr.
Sturmgewehr - Ger. n. An assault rifle.
Teutophobia - n. Fear of Germans or German things. A condition commonly suffered by Mordothan veterans.
Troop - n. A Panzer formation, consisting of three Panzer XI Main Battle Tanks and one Panzer VII Jagdpanzer. Commanded by a Leutnant in a Command Panzer.
