Well with the prevalence of non-human nations skittering about I think I need an RP to bring my people’s perception about them to ahead.

Some parts of Nova Hope proper are under special arrangements to be governed my the federal government in conjunction with the Polis. This has meant the land stayed relatively unused as the orders of government disagreed with each other.

Lately the federal government has become preoccupied and needed to curry favor with the Polis. So they removed some of the controls on the land. This allowed for mining and forestry companies to begin surveying the area.


What I would like to do is find a small nation of elves living inside my own borders. It will be kept hush hush at first, as the companies who find it know that they will never get to get at the veins of resources if this erupts. So the companies proceed with extraction and the elves go nuts.

What I need is a few people to RP foreign companies who happened to win the bid. (The land we are talking about contains a pristine old growth rainforest and underneath there is a massive vein of diamonds. The diamonds will only be discovered until just into the RP, the government does not know about them.)

I also need some foreign eco groups as Nova Hope has a terrible environmental record and no one takes domestic ‘green parties’ seriously.

Once this situation boils over I need some eleven nations to side with the elves. I also need some human nations who have experience with elves to advise the Noviet government.

The government is preoccupied with several other matters and will not be able to respond in force. So this RP will hopefully be a bit more subtle then the quashing of a people.

(Note I’m heading down to Boston this weekend and won’t be able to get back to any of you until Monday. Exceptions being this little bit before I leave.)

i'll side with the elves, or instead of elves there could be Concremians. Were non-human, and in certain curcumstances could look like elves, i suppose.

I have worked out a basic reason why concremians are there in the first place, let me know what you think

Well I had picked elves because of my own familiarity with them as well as their magical nature. This RP was to bring magic to the awareness of my people.

But you can try and sell me on your idea sure.

In the beginning, humans in concremo created a life form from scratch, in the basic image of a human, but in most ways superior, the daesus. This is the current Emperor. It reproduced by mitosis, but only that one did this and his spawn were identical otherwise. He and the first twelve of his children had natural tribal markings, and stood over seven feet tall. He maintained the population for several weeks, when a female variation of the daesus species was found in an abondoned facility. The female was cloned to match the male population, and since they have reproduced normally, and followed aspects of a normal human life. however, only the first 13 have those markings, and the rest do not. These 13 are the emperor, then the 12 members of the High Daesus. Humans were lead by the current, human emperor and they left the country as they were xenophobic but nothing could be done.

The storyline i had in mind would be that a Daesus with the markings had been sighted in the forest, and is causing all the problems. As soon as the concremian government finds out, they take unusually extreme actions to find and recover the mysterious 'elf', as witnesses describe.

You’re more than welcome to still take a part and I am not asking you to alter your ideas in the RP. I just like to start with a general idea, so as it avoids some people’s going way out in left field.

You could of course still investigate to see if it is what you’re looking for but I think for the purposes of this RP it will turn out to be, magic wielding elves.

No worries. Part of the reason I’m doing this is because I see some fairly good RPers using magic around. As my country uses no magic what so ever I felt this would be good to bring me up to speed.

I also think that since the laws of physics are being tossed out the door I should warn players coming in. No hard feelings I understand you view on magic, I’m still iffy myself. (This RP may very well be the deciding factor on whether I continue to RP this way.)

Our region is full of mythical types, from Norse legend to were wolf.
We are also closely bonded to a nation of Dragon Riders (and their sentient dragons of course), who are based (loosely) on the Anne McCaffrey novels.

Most of our nations are also very eco friendly, so you can count at least me in and possibly others?

The elves I know don't so much use 'magic' but the forces of nature.
So I spose it's more incantation(calling upon the powers of X to help) instead of casting spells.

The most powerful stuff will be runes in a passive nature and the occasional enchanted arrow in an offensive nature. It’s going to be magic limited to be sure. I am a bit of a stickler for logic so if it doesn’t make sense or have some relation to the physical world I don’t much care for it.

The elves will not be flipping tanks with the power of their mind. They will not be summoning anything from nothing et cetera.

Things you might see the elves do:
-Take a VTOL out of the air with a bow and arrow (this is more so that the elves can’t be rolled over then anything.)
-Disable the electronics in a predetermined area
-Have an explosive arrow (rare)
-Commune with spirits
-Commune with the dead
-Have ‘visions’ which may or may not provide them with a benefit to in the RP.

Magic for the purposes of this RP will simply be a tool used to compensate for the technological difference between my country (slightly post modern but very rooted in today’s technology) and the elves (who don’t work metal that they can’t get out of a river with a sieve)

Thats roughly how I would expect them to be.

I’d prefer to keep this modern tech if possible. (Some exceptions are of course welcome, but don’t haul out a phasor rifle on one of these poor elves.)

As long as you’re aware that it is modern tech. You can have some leeway in this i.e. extract the resources to sell off world but as far as what directly affects the RP keep it modern.

And you will need to acknowledge that there will be past tech used by most of the nations? (along with our favourite tank boy, who does come in handy now and then)

Perfect. FYI you'll have to be a little bit souless as you won't want to tell the government about the elves for fear of losing the contract on resources. Once I start getting some more corps I'll divy up who has what contract, fair enough?

There will be some Noviet corporation as well. We are an industrial giant of sorts. They’ll be used as both plot devices and realism generators. :D

This will hopefully not come down to a war. A few isolated incidents of violence sure. At the same time I’m not going to say ‘no wars’ as it’s your characters RP them as you will. I am of course not a weakling with 2.46 billion people participating in a frightening economy. As long as its fun and makes some sort of sense go with it.

They wouldn't purposely start a war, but they would protect what they feel needs protecting and at any cost.

Our people discovered eons ago an amulet that will allow us to change at will, so we are not dictated to by the moon, (though a full moon does affect us still).
So, even though the elves would distrust us, (hopefully only at first) we would be there as thier defenders and the defenders of nature.

Luraur is made up of a combanation of elves dwarves and humans who respect and use magic, which is known as the Art we would be horoned to join

Great this is all good stuff but right now I only have one person interested as the corp.? Anyone else or will I have to fill the rest in by Noviet corps?
