Relative Liberty

OOC: This thread's only purpose is to allow me to display the internal problems of RL. You may condemn the actions taken by the governemnet, or praise them for finding ''The One Truth'' and send small teams of observators (as long as you agree to let me imprison, kill, torture or maim them), but no all out full scale military operations, giving support to one side or another is allowed if this support is limited to welcoming refugees, moral support and giving weapons and supplies, but I will ignore any über l337 t3ch (what falls under this category is determined by me).
In a small villa in the jungle on Liberty One:
Blood-fang, the Chief of Military Science and Research, lay in his bed as the sun rose over the tropical jungle, painting the Palace red and awakening him from his sleep and bringing him back to reality. He looked to his left side where his wife lay and gently kissed her neck, there was no need to disturb her now.
He took a cold shower to fully wake up and spent nearly half an hour combing his mane and tail before donning the standard uniform that all of the Staff, except those under the Council's command, wore. The unform was mainly light grey with black collars and a single red star on the sleeves. Protocol said that all personel should be politically neutral while in service, but with the Socialistic Party having 98 per cent of the votes there was no need for discretion.
He ate a simple breakfast, a couple of eggs, a toust and a cup of tea, before reading the newspaper. Unemployment was on the rise again and nearing ten per cent, yet here he was about to present an invention that would make even more work unnecessary. The words ''You must not live to work, nut only work to live'' appeared inside his head. ''But was that really true?'' the other voice asked, ''If enough work is unnecessary, then there would be nobody to ensure the survival of the others, already the farming is totally automatic and the rest of the industry is not far behind. The military is the only branch that maintains a lion majority over the droids, but even there there was an increasing amount of droids, or ''automated workers'' as they were supposed to be called. When this peak is reached, a simple malfunction could prove disastrous.''
He ignored it, surely there would be no malfunction, the Dictator, the Head of Internal Affairs, the Head of the Army and the Head of the Industry would have thought of that when they made the decision to fund his newest project.
Highway One:
At half past seven he was driving his car along Highway 1 towards the palace. The four mighty towers made of steel and nanotubes rised above the jungle, the mighty ion cannons and other weaponry reflected the sunlight and it looked as if the towers were pillars upon wich stars had been laid.
The huge tube of plastic, glass and magnetic rails that was the highway split in two parts, one smaller wich lead to the Palace and was patrolled by Automatic Security Weapon Platforms, and one larger wich lead towards the city of Garithos.
Blood-fang made a sharp left turn and continued along the narrow road, automatically the turrets tracked him while a High Speed Retinal Scanner identified him. As soon as his identity was determined the gate opened, it was made of a secret alloy that his division had invented years ago but it was still capable of withstand several kinds of weaponry, including a direct hit by a nuclear warhead.
In the Palace, the Dictator's Ruling Hall:
''... And I assure you that this new technology, called Advanced Microscopic Bioenhancing Droids or AMBD, will allow us to create not just the supersoldiers of the BED but a soldier that is superior in all possible ways. He will be stronger, faster and more agile than the average soldier, he will have enhanced vision capale of seeing in total absence of light, besting the greatest martial arts masters, withstanding physical injury that would kill a normal lion and be cabable of memorising long texts after a single glance!''
''This is exactly what your division promised when you had developed the BED, what says that this will succeed?'' It was the Dictator himself that spoke and Blood-fang felt sweat rolling down his forehead. If the Dictator was sceptical there was little canche the military would adopt the idea.
''Unlike the Bioengnieering Enhancement Drug the test subjects show no sign of psychological disturbances, moodswings, paranoia and schizofrenia, even grossly enhanced subjects remained loyal to their superiors. The problem with the drugs was that they had a negative effect on the subject's brain tissue, thus creating various psychological anomalies that eventually were capable of overriding the... eh, ''training'' the subjects had recieved. The solution is that the droids do not interfere with the brain's more complicated areas but only tampers with the short time memory. The droids can also be disabled if things should go awry, though the chances that they do are minimal.''
''How will these droids work in a more specific way?''
They are injected into the the subject's blood through a syringe, alternatively they are transplanted into the mother's eggs before pregnancy. Once inside, they take control of the testosterone regulations, as you all know testosterone helps to build muscles, some droids redesigns the eyes of the subject, adding a pair of ''flashlights'' and infrared capacity. The rest infiltrate the body's organs and muscles and improve them, for example the lungs and heart of a supersoldier is many times superior to those of our elite athletes while the muscles are stronger and are more endurable than those of weightlifters.''
''Well, you may leave the room. Come back in twenty minuits.''
Blood-fang left hall and waited outside, on the other side of the door he heard their hushed discussion. After twenty minuits the doors opened and he was asked to enter.
''After due consideration I, Dictator of the United Socialist States of Relative Liberty, has decided, on behalf of the people of the United Socialist States of Relative Liberty, to ask you, Blood-fang, Chief of Military Science and Research, to produce two hundred of these ''supersoldiers'' to be tested against the current elite.''
