General Deadmarsh of the First Foreign Guard waited at the airport as his staff loaded the essentials onto his Marathon supersonic transport. He alos awaited the arrival of several industrial reps and the new Ambassador to Lesser Pacifica.
Ambassador Emily Issem arrived at the Costa-Tula airbase along with Reginald Warring Vice President of Overseas Operations with Jaguar-Daimler, Aleksandr Novorosky Vice President of Development for Narvik Advanced Ordinance, Constantin Karamanlis of Tlaloc Motors and Coyohuitl Itzculliun of Costa-Tula Shipyards. They all paused as they reached the transport and introduced themselves and made small talk with General Deadmarsh as the General's staff stowed away their luggage. Within thirty minutes everything was set and they were prepared to leave, their flight was preceeded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs communique to Lesser Pacifica:
To:Clark Matthews,Secretary of State, Commonwealth of Lesser Pacifica
From: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilek-Vaad
Re: Foreign Guard
Secretary Matthews,
The Republican Council has selected Ambassador Emily Issem to represent the Free Republic in Lesser Pacifica. The Ambassador and General Deadmarsh will be leaving from Costa-Tula airfield later today and should arrive in Lesser Pacifica by tomorrow morning at the latest. They have been instructed to land at Kapana Air Force Base.
With General Deadmarsh and Ambassador Issem are representatives from various industrial and military manufacturing corporations to assist your nation in building a solid infrastructure to supply the Foreign Guard, or your own forces with heavy equipment.
We thank you again for your interest in stability and in the Foreign Guard,
Sir Alec Connover, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilek-Vaad

Clark Matthews, the tall, medium-skinned Secretary of State, was seated at his oak desk in a federal building attending to several matters of varying importance. However, his mind had been wandering, so he was taken aback when an aid suddenly opened the door to his office.
"Excuse me if I startled you, Mr. Secretary, but we just received a communiqué from Ilek-Vaad." stated the aid, while advancing and holding out a paper.
"Well, let me see it!" exclaimed Matthews while grabbing it from the aid. He quickly read over it, before handing it back to the aid. "Inform Colonel Anderson that he is to begin Plan Bravo-Specter immediately."
"At once, Mr. Secretary!"
With that, the aid turned around and quickly left.

The "Plan Bravo-Specter" was quickly being set into motion. A large number of soldiers were milling about, some patrolling the area, some simply on guard. Here and there, a few tanks could be seen heading toward checkpoints. A pair of attack helicopters took off before beginning a patrol. Several SUVs pulled up alongside of the single completed runway, awaiting the arrival of a number of VIPs. The ATC tower seemingly overflowed with staff, monitoring the various radar screens.
Although the base had seemingly bursted with activity, many parts were quiet. Fifty-year old construction equipment had ceased all activity- the actual construction of the base. The workers had been hurriedly escorted off of the base, and sent back to their homes for the day.
Within minutes, everything was in position, and everyone was ready. All that was needed to send several Pacifican officials to the base was radio contact with a certain aircraft.

Colonel Aldred, Piloted General Deadmarsh's Marathon Transport. He flew the jet leisurely and several minutes before the they would enter Lesser Pacifica's airspace he radioed ground control.
"Lesser Pacifica Ground Control, this is flight IVR-09, carrying representatives from the Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad. Our destination is Kapana Air Force base. We will be entering Lesser Pacifica Airspace in a minute or two, please advise."
He executed a neat half roll, just to make sure everyone in the transport was awake and smiled to himself.

"Flight IVR-09, this is ATC. Permission to enter CLP airspace granted. Continue on your current bearing to approach. Over." The controller who sent the communication then nodded to a uniformed man, who then rushed over to a telephone.
"Operator, connect me to Room One-Fifteen, Federal Building Five." The man drummed his fingers on a console until he got a connection. "Mr. Secretary? Yes, we have contact. Alright. I'll be waiting, sir." With that, he hung up the phone, and walked over to another console, observing the screen on it.

The Marathon remained on course and proceeded at mach speed to Kapana Air Force base. Shortly Colonel Aldred was well within sight and began to prepare for landing , the Marathon slowing and circling around the base preparing to approach the runways.
"Kepana Ground Control, this is IVR-09. I'm ready to land, where should I put it?"
He switched on the 'Fasten Seatbelts' light and clicked on the comm for the cabin.
"This is your Captain speaking , We are preparing to land, I would ask all of you to please fasten your seat belts and stow everything in a secure compartment. Have a lovely day."
He awaited a response from the control tower , anxious to land.

[OOC: Sorry for the long delay... it did turn out that I was unable to get on over the weekend.]
"Flight IVR-09, this is ATC. You are cleared to land on Runway One. If you get a visual on it, you'll be able to tell- it's the only paved runway around here. After you land, you'll be approached by security forces, who will escort the delegates to vehicles for transport to Federal District in Kapana City. Please relay this information to them. Over." The controller glanced out the large windows of the tower, and, after catching a glimpse of the circling aircraft, went back to studying his large display.

Colonel Aldred smiled and replied "Roger that."
He swooped at alrming speed to the very end of the runway, switching the Marathon's Turbo-Clutch , opening the large vents under the engines and executed a very fast, neat and rather gentle vertical landing, fairly impressive considering the size of the transport.
Several minutes after landing the whine of the engines ceased and the rear ramp deployed. The delegation from Ilek-Vaad disembarked , led by General Deadmarsh, they awaited their security escort.
OOC: no problem, I'm normally not online on the weekends anyhow.

As the aircraft landed, several soliders wearing balck jumpsuits and armed with UMP submachineguns walked towards it. These men were part of the security team that had been assigned to the protection of the Ilek-Vaad delegation during their time in Lesser Pacifica.
As the ramp lowered and the delegates disembarked, the leader of this unit, a rather average looking Captain Robert Moss, approached the general.
"Hello sir, and welcome to our country. I hope that you and the rest of your party had a good flight in. Now, if your party will be so kind as to follow me, we can be out of this base and to the Federal District in Kapana City, where we can coordinate your tour of this country."

General Deadmarsh saluted the Captain with the Defiant Salute (a raised fist) of the Retaliatory Guard and nodded.
"Fine, fine, just give my men a few minutes to unpack our luggage."
He yurned and nodded to his men and they quickly unloaded the suitcases and carry on bags and such. General Deadmarsh and his traveling companions looked around, taking in the scenery until everything was ready for their departure.
General Deadmarsh nodded to his men as they finished and he turned back to Captain Moss "It would probably be better if my staff stayed here for the time being? They will be primarily engaged in helping to organize the Foreign Guard, there really isn't much point to dragging them along with us."

"Well, Sir, I do belive that we could arrange that. I'll have to notify the base commander."
Moss turned around to face another solider who was some distance away, then shouted to him "Sergant! Notify the commandant that most of the delegation will be staying here while we take the General downtown!" With that, the sergant quickly ran towards a rather large concrete building.
"Now, General, seeing that your luggage is in order, I suppose we could leave? You, a few other soliders, and myself will be taking the third vehicle."

General Deadmarsh nods "Very good then."
General Deadmarsh and Ambassador Issem, as well as the five representatives from the various Vaadian business interests all followed Captain Marsh to the waiting vehicles and on to Kapana City.
