*Guillemont, Jerobia*

The anti-war protest raged on, hundreds of voices screaming their anger at the government for ever getting the country involved in other peoples business, specificalyl in the Hebrides Islandia incident a while ago that head lead to the utter destruction of an entire Jerobian task force through a nuclear blast. Walking amidst the crowd were supporters of the Peoples Front of Jerobia, handing out leaflets, gathering support and urging the crowd on in their protest.

A handful of outnumbered riot police held a defense line across the front of the Senate building, protecting the Government offices from the angry mob. It was a delicate situation that could erupt into violence at the slightest spark. That spark was helpfully provided by a PFJ member who threw a crude incendary device at the riot police, seriously wounding two officers. The others, unable to see their attackers, fired back into the crowd, panicking, soon filling the square with tear gas and smoke. The crowd, enraged and frightened, surged forwards, crushing those in the front ranks as more PFJ members used improvised or black-market weapons to assault the police.

Eventually, the riot police succumbed to the crowd, and the rioters broke into the Senate, smashing their way into the Main Chamber, where they set upon Senators, visitors, and security with an almost insane fury. Before more police could arrive at the scene, the building was ablaze, and rioters roamed the streets, looting from shops, assaulting any symbol of the government wherever it was found. Order was only eventually restored when Military Police were called in, and were forced to resort to violence to quell the revolt. Unfortunately, dozens of people were horrifically injured, and hundreds suffered injuries of some description or another.


*Two hours later*

As police and firemen cleared the streets of debris, thousands of PFJ leaflets were discovered, and interviewees slowly admitted the mass PFJ support behind the riot. With several Senators in a critical condition, and more then thirty injured, the Senate quickly rushed through a bill that granted a state of national emergency, and gave all power to one man, the right-wing Nationalist politician, Ernst Strommer.

He immediately outlawed the PFJ, and ordered National Guard and Military Police units to assist in keeping order whilst the Police force hunted down cells of the PFJ, and arrested hundreds of supporters, including politicians who had little to do with the militant wing of the movement. The country was descending into madness, all because of the actions of a foreign group who detonated a nuclear device in a foreign country. A classic example of a butterfly flapping its wings, and causing mayhem elsewhere in the world.


OOC: Ok, hopefully there will be some support for both sides here, but as its my first RP I may make a few mistakes.

OOC: I'd suggust having the Government and the PFJ both advertise for help, then people can get involved with proper IC reason.

Chain-link fences, eight feet high and topped with triple strands of barbed wire, surrounded a dozen or so wooden huts. Guard towers on each corner swung spot-lights over the dark ground, watching for any of the inmates who tried to escape. Guard dogs patrolled outside the fences, and armed troops kept a constant eye on anyone trying to sneak into the camp, set deep in the woods.

A dark green army truck swang into the camp, and half a dozen soldiers leapt from the back before pulling out more civilians, all dressed in dark blue prison uniforms. All had shaved heads, and they were roughly shoved towards the nearest hut. The last man out of the truck was a religious man. He still wore a crucifix around his neck, and clutched a tattered bible to his chest. His name was Father Jacobs. His crime was to speak out against Strommer and his new regime.

As he was pushed into the hut, Jacobs noticed dozens of children, all with crudely shaven heads and baggy uniforms, standing meekly by the far wall. He turned to shout at the guards, to condemn them, anything, but crumpled as a rifle butt caught him on the temple, and his world went dark.

Whilst, technically, the granting of one man such powers is within the confines of the legal system, such a law is only meant for use in times of dire emergency, specifcally when the state is under massive threat, be it internal or foreign. It has the largest natural harbour, and is very difficult for the customs agents there to control, especially since many are loyal to us. Smuggling in weapons should be easy. We would happily take whatever weapons you can spare, but assault rifles, sub-machine guns, rocket launchers, and a handful of sniper rifles would be enough to help us protect ourselves and regroup our forces.

The PFJ soldiers crept slowly through the dock, silently removing any threat to the operation as the approached the berth soon to be occupied by the Mule and her precious cargo of guns and ammunition. With any luck, they woul dbe bale to get the ship unloaded and back out to sea before the Customs even twigged what was happening.


*Internment Camp*

Jacobs blinked and sat up slowly, his hands clasping the swollen lump just above his temple, and looked around him. The hut was full of people, all looking underfed and ill. In the corner, a young mother sat, clutching her young child to her chest, singing to it softly. The faint sounds of coughing and sobbing filled the air, rising to an almost deafening crescendo.

He swang higs legs out from over the bed he was sat on, and shakily stood up. At sixty-three, he had been a preacher all his life, devoting it entirely to the Lords will, and this was how he was to be repaid. Dying in an overcrowded hut with hundreds of other innocent people, all because he spoke out against the brutality of his government.

People looked at him as he walked carefully along the hut, muttering to himself. They bowed their heads to him, and looked to him for guidance. So, guidance he gave them. Taking his tattered bible from his robe, he bean to read, and led his fellow internees in prayer for their souls. Nothing else could help them now.

Four fishing boats finished laying out their nets and turned towards port, steaming home. The nets themselves spread out and sank, releasing several passive CAPTOR pods, stolen from the Naval Armoury in Porton. Whilst old, the pods contained prototype Skval super-cavitating torpedos. After using passive sonar detectors to detect the Leafanistan task force, the pods aligned themselves, and fired their payloads.

The torpedos inside rapidly accelerated up to almost 300 knots, closing the gap between them and the destroyers rapidly. Although fitted with small warheads, the torpedos could easily sink a submarine from the force of their impact alone, without the detonation of the explosive charge.

The PFJ agents finished loading the remains of the weapons into trucks, vans, cars, and other small boats, which then rapidly dispersed them to the splinter cells of PFJ troops across the country. Now they were equipped to start really fighting, and could take the battle to Strommer and his right-wing allies.

*Porton*

The PFJ agents finished loading the remains of the weapons into trucks, vans, cars, and other small boats, which then rapidly dispersed them to the splinter cells of PFJ troops across the country. Now they were equipped to start really fighting, and could take the battle to Strommer and his right-wing allies.

The submarine takes a broadside and is quickly sunk, lost with all hands, the destroyers pick up on it from active SONAR, and the 2 LASER turrets on either side of the destroyers turn and open fire. Sailors opened fire just in front of where the water began to boil slightly. The destroyer Furious Gear takes 2 in the rear begins sinking, 32 lives are lost but the ship is totally lost. The frigate Welcher takes a hard hit on the front and another one passes through the frigate, 12 lives are lost on board but the ship can be towed him. The November takes a hit in the armory, explodes killing 57 sailors, ship sinks quickly.

An AC-130 drops down for a quick broadside of PFJ trucks, the 20 mm Gatling Cannon opens up for 4- 6 second bursts at 10 trucks. It quickly gains altitude.

The trucks split open like over-ripe watermelons, explosives and ammunition detonating in huge fireballs, wiping out several shipments of anti-tank rockets. PFJ agents can be seen scattering into buildings and tunnels to escape the gunfire.

The AC-130 quickly returned to a safe altitude where SkyHawk jumpjets covered it with their microwave LASER turrets from incoming missile threats.

El Presidente sat reading the latest intelligence reports, detailing the present situation in Jerobia. He finished the three page document and looked up at the intelligence officer standing in front of his desk.

"What do you make of this?" he asked quietly.

"It doesn't look good. Looks like it could explode at any time," replied the intelligence agent. "Although there is a conservative dictator in power, our guess is that he will not stay there for long."

The president nodded and looked down at the papers again, flipping through them. "We can't let this happen. We have had firsthand experience of what Socialism can do. It left Zarbia crippled and dying, and I will not see it do the same to another country."

"I am giving you full authorization to funnel money and weapons to this Strommer," he continued, "Anything to keep him firmly where he is. I will try to communicate with him and see if he needs troops in his country. You never know what could happen with a situation like this."

"A chance to spread Zarbia's sphere of influence..." said the officer smugly.

"Indeed. Now get to your duties, this is a delicate matter and must be treated with the greatest of care."

Today, in face of the possible threat of an imperialistic invasion by Leafanistan on Saharistan, The Supreme Revolutionary Leader, President Musab al Zarqawi adressed the People's Assembly of Saharistan:

In his speech, the President called for a vote on mobilising the national defence network of the Saharistani nation.

Upon the conclusion of his speech, the People's Assembly voted, with all 250 members voting in favour of the defence plan.

The Defence plan is as follows:

1.) All adult men/women between the ages of 16-65 are to be called up for immediete military service.

2.) All beaches in Saharistan are to be secured with landmines and barbed wire, along with army and Revolutionary Militia units being deployed behind the beach defences to tie down the naval assault of the invading army.

3.) With the exception of Saharistani military aircraft, air logisitcal support and all foreign aircraft supporting the military defence of Saharistan, all other aircraft flying in our airspace used for civilian purposes and all foreign aircraft not supporting Saharistan will be SHOT DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING!

4.) A curfew has been put in place for all Saharistani civilians between 8 a:m and 7 p:m, unless authorised by the government to move about out of the curfew.

5.) Martial law has been declared with all regions being put under the control of the Saharistani Revolutionary Armed Forces (SRAF) and a Central Military Council (CMC) will now run the nation.

6.) The CMC is chaired by the President, co-vice chaired by the Minister of Defence and the Operations Commander of the SRAF. All other members of the cabinet and the commanders of the Army, Navy, Airforce and the Revolutionary Militia are members of the CMC.

7.) Saharistan will activate ALL weapons that it had recently purchased from the Roman Republic and Penpusher, they are as follows:

* 30 T-72 tanks.
* 270 M11 tanks.
* 80 BMP-3 APCs.
* 100 KAMAZ 4326 trucks.
* 12 Mi-24 attack helicopters.
* 110 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters.
* 5 MIG-29 fighter jets.
* 45 F-14 Tomcat jet fighters.

Saharistan would of course be willing to resolve this issue with Leafanistan peacefully, but we WILL defend our nation if attacked or have unreasonable demands put upon us.

Only? Please, Financial Aid has found its way to the Red Brigade; this is an INTERNATIONAL Socialist movement not following any legal or civil means but by terrorism. Terrorism is fundamentaly different from Guerilla Warfare, Guerilla Warfare seeks to use tactics that favor covert actions, and quick strikes, to gain terrority. Whil Terrorism is just to scare the populace into surrendering power. This style of warfare cannot win as it just strenghtens the nation's resolve to fight it. If those involved would make a legal declaration of why they are so disgruntled and at least try to pursue this by legal or civil means instead of going straight to violence then there wouldn't be such a huge problem. Medical Aid is not a problem. However Weapons Supply Aid? Sounds an awful like what the US did for South Vietnam, just one more step before sending in your own troops.

From what I understand this appointment of a Senate Leader was only an emergency measure after the PFJ struck FIRST. They started this conflict to "create" their own reason to continue. It is nothing more than a dispicible action to pick on the government to force them into making themselves look like the "bad guy" so the PFJ has a legitimate reason to kill and maim for their cause.

Our own forces would never be in a state of conflict with Leafanistani forces in the Jerobian conflict.

If you give my neighbor a gun to shoot me, aren't you helping him conflict with me? If you heal him, if you feed him, if you clothe him, aren't you like a parent who sends his child off to war? Isn't it no longer the child's war but your war?

imperialistic invasion by Leafanistan on Saharistan

Leafanistan does not occupy, Leafanistan once it is certain your military has neutralized will leave. Our only concern is our own safety and with the increase of Red Brigade attacks within our own country directed at the innocent populace and not the government it is a necessary measure to continue to ensure the safety of our people.

Final OOC: Please send full military stats to me for use in this and I will send mine, I'll probably be using a fixed force with minimal paradrops. You can have secret troops but declare them in advance so we don't get a hidden "nuke in ass" problem.
