We take you live now to a press conference being held by the Prime Minister:
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Grand Duchy, I come to you tonight not only as your duly elected Prime Minister but as a concerned Citizen.
The past few weeks have seen dramatic change and a fundamental shift of power from those that seek to continue the "Old Ways" and those of us who seek to bring Hamptonshire into a new Golden Era. When the Nationalist Union and Republic Parties merged into NARP it was in the hope that it would mark a new start. A time when actual tangible change would be a part of Hamptonian government. Well, my fellow Hamptonians, the forces of elitism and the aristocracy have managed to stymie all attempts at reform.
While only the Sovereign of the Realm can dissolve the Royal Senate and call for early elections, an action which is not possible since this Nation lacks a Sovereign, I can as Prime Minister dissolve the Royal House of Representatives. Accordingly, at midnight tonight Senator Allenby, President of the Royal Congress, and I shall sign the 'Notification of Dissolution of the House'. A Special Election shall be called within forty-five days, elected members of the Royal House of Representatives will serve out the remaining two years of this term's session.
I am seeking a mandate from the voting public. While the House only possesses domestic legislative powers, a resounding victory by NARP will force the remaining minority parties to stop obstructing our goals. As was stated in the Nationalistisk Republikaner Folkeparti Platform (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8874132&postcount=5), we are committed to fundamentally changing Hamptonian society and government.
Should the Citizens of the Grand Duchy decide in their infinite wisdom to provide the Nationalist Republican People's Party with a clear majority in the Royal House of Representatives, the first measure of business will be the establishment of the Federal State Ministry. The FSM will allow the Federal Government to efficiently and effectively defend Hamptonshire from all threats, foreign and domestic.
For too long politicians have sought to advance only themselves. That time has come to an end. I call on all Hamptonians to stand with the Nationalistisk Republikaner Folkeparti against those that seek only to serve themselves.
May God bless the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire."
