I figured Its time for a Standard Calander so heres what we came up with

1 RL Hour = 1 NS Day
24 NS day= 1 NS month
30-31 Months= 1 NS Year(Except the third year(RL Feburary)in a Doce or 12 Years(1 RL Year)

What do ya think

EDIT: I misspelled Calender Can you mods change it

So, assuming you play NS from the moment you get up to the moment you go to sleep...When you ARE asleep, your entire nation, it's military forces, industry and wildlife stand completely still for eight days? Not very helpful in a military campaign, now, is it?

It depends. In times of war, time speeds up.
I use 1 rl hour for one NS day when moving stuff around.

Time is very weird in NS.

My Sultan has reigned for 2 years... yet the person he promoted has been a diplomat for 15...

Figure that one out.

Calendar. :p

And, technically on your calendar's format, it would be:

1 RL hour -> 1 NS Day,
24 RL hours -> 1 NS month,
365 RL hours -> 1 NS year (exc. leap years, 366 RL hrs)

and not what you said. Usually, though, it's 1 day = 1 year for non-fluid RP.

That's the thing. There is no exact 'calendar' that others follow. Some nations would prefer to follow 1 RL week=1 NS year, or even 1 RL month=1 NS year. There wouldn't be a point in actually creating a set calendar for all of NS because there's always someone who's going to do it differently. For all we know, someone out there could be doing 4 RL days=1 NS year, or even 17 RL days=1 NS year. It's all about what others think is more realistic to their own nation.

Fluid time is a major part of Nationstates. When it comes to a nation in peace, 1 RL day=1 NS year, could be realistic; however, when your nation enters into war, or sends it leader to a conference or summit, time needs to slow down, after all, I don't think your leader will be attending a conference for a year. There are also points when time needs to speed up, such as if a nation decides to go future tech, from modern tech. Converting your nation to future tech is probably going to take many years, but perhaps the player wants to just RP it all in one thread.

Those are just a few examples of possibilities of why a calendar for NS really isn't the best thing to do.

I generally use a peacetime calendar of 2 RL days = 1 NS year. In wartime/roleplays, a day is as long as it takes for me to post one. :D
