... and ever since the the Bill of Democratic Imperial Unity (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8838118&postcount=16) passed, the various parties of the Imperial Union has been vieing for re-election. Also, an old favorite is going to run for re-election. Sergei Ilyanov, the President before Robert Chavez was elected, will be running for President under the newly renamed Rosian Socialist Party. Frederick von Hattensberg will also be running under the banner of the Rosian Liberal Imperialist Party, polls say that 87% of the Rosian (not the combined Union) population would love Sergei as Grand Chancellor of the Imperial Union, but the elections are not even occuring yet.

For those who do not know about Rosian politics, the candidites have two months to campaign before elections start. And as political insiders might or might now know, alot of political changes have occured within the Imperial Union. First and foremost, all members of the Imperial Union, i.e. the Chinese IRR, the New Rosian IRR, the New Roskan IRR, and the Cuban IRR, will be able to vote for the Grand Chancellor. This will greatly influence the vote. Because the Imperial Rosian Republics are also voting, they might influence the vote in strange ways. I.E., the Rosian Libertarian Party getting a majority of the seats in the United Imperial Assembly.

Also, there are new political parties on the scene. The Militant Communist Party dissolved and turned into the Rosian Proletarian Party, a Rosian version of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). Another new party, the Rosian Progressive Party, has also come out on the scene. They are moderate capitalists or disgruntiled former libertarians who thought their policies were extreme. Both these parties should be watched throughout the election.

Also, the Rosian Nationalist Party and the Rosian Libertarian Party are not popular in the polls. According to a Union-wide poll, both Parties are un-popular in both Legislative wise and Executive wise.

The election promises to be an interesting one, and the Rose International News Network will bring you coverage as events happens. And now, a brief rundown of the parties.

Imperial Palace, Risban City

Alexander Perkins, Imperial High Minister of Foreign Affairs, walked into the Emperor's office clutching a document that concerned the elections in Imperial Union of the Island of Rose. He walked up to the Emperor's desk and handed the young man the file. "Elections in Rosian lands, m'lord," said the Foreign Affairs minister. "Fairly important ones, too. It seems that the two frontrunners are Ilyanov and von Hattensberg. I believe that releasing a statement concerning who we support would be good."
Emperor Scorpius nodded and flipped through the file, quickly ready the information. "Hmm... Well, socialists and warmongerers would not be the best for the world," finally said Scorpius. "Write up a statement showing support the Liberal Imperialist Party and the Progressive Party. I find both to be suitable candidates...And it would probably be a help in foreign relations to have more capitalists in the world, don't you think?"
"Yes, sir," said Perkins, standing. "Senator Crato has already informed me that the Senate will show favor for the Liberal Imperialists while Parliament will most likely support the Progressive Party."
Emperor Scorpius chuckled. Much like the Imperial Parliament... The Senate will support more liberty, attempting to send a message to the emperor, while the aristocratic Parliament will like to see more capitalist nations in the world so as to better increase their businesses.
"Very well, Alex. Now, go on."

Statement from the Office of the Emperor
~The Grand Imperium of Risban~

The Office of the Emperor wishes Frederick von Hattensberg and Johnathon Shuvak the best of luck in the Rosian elections. We would be more than happy to fund both the Liberal Imperialists and the Progressive Party if Rosian election laws allow it.
We would advise that should a socialist-supporting party begin to gain more support that the Progressive Party come out in favor of the Liberal Imperialists, with Mr. Shuvak throwing his support behind Mr. von Hattensberg. If you are going to lose, you might as well support the party that most-closely shares your ideals.

Good luck.

~Emperor Robinson A. Scorpius~
-Alexander Perkins, Minister for Foreign Affairs-

From the Chambers of Parliament-- The High Parliament

The High Parliament of the Grand Imperium of Risban fully supports the Progressive Party of the Imperial Union of the Island of Rose. We wish Johnathon Shuvak the best of luck in the Rosian elections.

~Baron Kenneth Fowl, Member of Parliament~
~Lord Richard Gaius Zorag, Minister of Industry~
~Duke Magnus Scorpius, Minister of Business~

From the Chambers of Parliament-- The Imperial Senate

The Imperial Senate of the Grand Imperium of Risban shows its support of the Liberal Imperialist Party of the Imperial Union of the Island of Rose. We wish Frederick von Hattensberg the best of luck in these elections, and hope that Risban will one day follow in the Island of Rose's steps towards liberal imperialism.

Imperium et Libertas.

~Senator Cassius Crato~
~Senator Paul Gomez~
~Senator Finis Fowl~

From the Office of the Grand Chancellor
Good luck to all.

The report from the HSI teams in the Island of Rose contained the usual requests for reassignment, a few photos and reports on the "unusual amounts of armaments and building materials" being moved to and through TIOR controlled ports - Nasiri had a good laugh at that - and some good satellite pictures of coastline, some close ups...

And a notification about elections in TIOR.

Nasiri read the reports closely, particularly those from those who were... closer to the candidates.

Action? Perhaps, but not yet. He scribbled out orders to watch and wait... but to watch most carefully.

It has come to my - and the Party's - attention, that the Rosian Proletarian Party seems to be gaining support. I have recieved news of youth movements in the 'ghettos' of Roska, riots in several towns, and even marches supporting our comrades.

The party hopes, that in time - hopefully soon - the Rosian Proletarian Party will gain a sufficient amount of support from the proletarians of the Imperial Union, and succeed in the succession and ultimte demise of the imperialism that has been spreading through the Island of Rose.

Comrades, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union sends its full support to you. We will be happy to supply our comrades with anything necessary for the successful election of a comrade.

Sincerely,
General Secretary Robert Pacitania

Official Statement from The Rosian Proletariat Party:

We thank our Comrades in the Soviet Union for their support. Do not worry Comrades, if the Imperial Union has any sense, they will give power back to the Proletariat. And if not, we will use our seats in the United Imperial Assembly (or as we'd like to call it the United People's Assembly) to back any and every law that will benefit the Rosian people in one way or the other.

Sincerely
Alexei Vitca
Chairman of the RPP

The God-Emperor Count JWolf was doing his normal thing, like going through his mail and watching the news. [I]Thank you letter, another thank you letter, a check for my club, another thank you letter.” he said in his head.

“Time for the news.” said the Count, then turn his 50 inch flat screen TV on. After he flipped through ten channels, he said “Maybe turn it on to RINN.”

The Rosian Elections was what they were talking about. He watched the program and when it start to about the parties, said “Sergei Ilyanov, that is that nice man I meet a way ago. The others can jump off a cliff.”

“I will write a message to him.” said the Count, before opening up his e-mail

Dear Sergei,

I wish you the best of luck in the election. You are the only one I see that can run the Island of Rose right. If you need anything like money or bodyguards, give me a call. I like your comment, too. Best of luck in winning.

And the Campaigns of the various parties have just started. The Rosian Liberal Imperialist Party are putting all their efforts on the Island, as support for them is heavy. But the Rosian Socialist Party, Rosian Libertarian Party, and Rosian Nationalist Party is also taking hold on the Island. So far, the Island is split four ways. All support for the Nationalist and Libetarian Parties come from the Island, but it is small. About two percent for each Party. Meanwhile the Liberal Imperialist Party is getting one third of the vote, with the rest going to the Rosian Socialist Party, but that is due insiders credit it to Sergei's popularity and not the Socialist Platform.

Meanwhile the Progressive Party is dominating in China, taking most of the vote from the other Parties in the area. Insiders credit due to its moderate capitalist platform and a small statement saying "The only reason the Chinese are voting for it is because they can waste money, but not be Yeltsin-ed at the same time." Meanwhile the Rosian Proletarian Party is stealing votes from New Rose and New Roska, the two Imperial Rosian Republics being predominantly leftists, voted for the RPP. When RINN asked why, Alexei Vitca, the RPP Candidate stated "Simple, they miss when the old Commonwealth was Socialist, but they want more. So they're voting for us."

We're also live where Sergei Ilyanov, Candidate for the Rosian Socialist Party is about to give a speech.

Sergei Ilyanov, wearing a nice suit and tie and the like, was standing in Red Square. The Red Square in Rose City, I mean. In front of him were hundreds of thousands of his supporters. The podium has the mark of the Rosian Socialist Party, a hammer and sickle with a rose behind it. Sergei, looking rather calm but in fact nervous, cleared his throat. He began his speech.

"Fellow Rosians! For ten years, I presided over the Presidency of the Island of Rose, advancing our position in the world stage as the premier defender of human rights and one of the great Naval powers." A pause. "But then, Robert Chavez, who's probably burning in Hell right now, was elected. He basically made all of you mad, and the first rule of being a Rosian President is... don't make your employer mad."

The audience got in a rawkus laughter, but Sergei calmed them down.

"And I am asking, you the People, my employer, to elect me. You know that I don't follow normal Party doctrine like the rest of the Candidates. Instead, I listen to my employer, the People. If they want the economy to de-centralize itself, I will do it. If they want taxes to go down, I'll do it. You remember when I was President for ten years, I didn't screw up. So I'm going to end this short speech with this... vote for me, and I will not screw up. Thank you."

The audience got into a wonderful applause, with hoots and whistles going abound as Sergei stepped off the Podium.

And that was Sergei's speech, for more coverage of the Rosian Elections, stay tuned to the Rose International News Network.
