I wish to buy weapons and such for an army. I just learned how to do it and am now wishing for suggustions. I will tell you my pop. and defence numbers.
My pop. 87 million
Defence:97,600,600,600 in Canadian dollars which are valued at $.54.
Any suggustions for a small but mobile army?

Well are you a fture tedch nation or modern tech nation?

I don't know, If I choose I'll say modern.

For a nation of your size, 870,000 is a good military size if you are a militaristic state.

If you aren't, I'd lower it to about half or a quarter of that.

And yes, you choose if you are Future or Modern Tech.

Well im a future tech nation.....much more fun in my opinion but id be careful about saying you want nukes.

An army of 0.5-1% of your population should be enough.
The components of the army you decide yourself. Look around for factbooks that include military numbers and composition of the army. Should give you a fair idea of what an army is composed of. You can click the link in my signature, the one with factbook and orders of battle, and you`ll see an example in the second post of a military. After you create the armies in notepad or something, with numbers for types of equipment, go to storefronts and buy the equipment. Search for the word "storefront" and you should find enough of them :).

You should start off with creating 2 Infantry Divisions comprised of 9 Battalions or Regiments

For the tanks, buy from me :p

For the fleet, search for: Hamptonian Defense Corporation

For the fighters, same thing.

The soldiers, you need to train them XD

30 tanks is a nice start, but there is ppl claiming that they own hundreds of thousands of MBT's, so I think you need a bit more than that... for a small/poor nation, it could be better to consentrate on antitank weapons rather than tanks, but it is of course up to you...are you planning a defencive force capable of keeping the enmy out, defencive force capable of drawing the enemy in years-long guerilla war or offensive army capable of pwning other nations in their own soil?

For a superb Modern Tech navy, I would suggest shopping at the Royal Shipyard of Isselmere-Nieland http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=361894. I bought all of my naval ships from this storefront until I moved to Future Tech. I was very pleased with the service and the prices at the storefront.

You can buy Mercedes, BMWs, or Volkswagons for troop transports from me if you want. :)

If your nation has compulsory military service than you should have a rather large militia, sort of like the national guard, in your army as well.

Battalions can range from 450 to 800 men each or so!
A Battalion could/would have about 50 Tanks in it(4/5 men per Tank)
Rest in Armoured Cars,Jeeps and/or Trucks.
