I have seen many places that sell weapons :sniper: :mp5: and war machines, but how do you actually buy them? How do you know how much money you have and all that? I have searched some, but this is a big place and I don't have forever...

for economy, use http://www.sunsetrpg.com/nsxmlparser.php

as for troops/military in general (including all war) its imaginary (aka freeform roleplay). just tell someone your moving troops to attack/defend, and be descriptive. dont forget to read the sticky.

in general, your military cannot exceed 5% of your population, and purchases may only be made if they are within your defence budget.

If you want to buy things, you buy them with money that is purely imaginary. You just say "I'll give you one million suomis for that MGZ-55a MkII" and they agree. Most players will strive for a greater level of realism, however, and calculate a defense spending budget and spend out of that. If you want soldiers, imagine them, and there they are. However, if you have a population of 20 million and you say you have 10 million people in your army, most respectable nations will call you a n00b and ignore you. Again, you need to be realistic. If half of your citizens were in the army, where would the food come from to feed them, where would there gear come from, who would run the government, etc? You need to budget a small portion, maybe 2-10% of your population, as military members. Much more and people will hate you. There's a few threads about this floating around, so look at those.

You just buy them by saying, I would like to buy 50 tanks, for example.
As to how much money you have you can use things like

Use these links to determine your military budget:
http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php (most used but you have to be in a smaller region if you want it to work)
http://www.sunsetrpg.com/economystatistics.php

You can see the military budget from there, and that is the maximum amount of money you can spend each day on your millitary.

Uhmmm...its complicated...and I'm feeling lazy.

Well, essentially, troops are an unofficial addition to NationStates used by the Roleplaying Community. Generally your troops vary anywhere from 0-5% of your population (5% is generally the maximum, and even then you should avoid having that much.)

Your budget can be calculated by any of the numerous budget calculators out there, but the most common one I have seen used is NSEconomy NationStates Calculator (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/), which can calculate any nation's budgets as long as you are not in a region with too many members.

Generally the numbers listed are for each NS year. One NS year is equivalent to one real life day, which I believe is so that people can get along with their lives quickly and easily without issue.

Any questions?
