Well, the title pretty much says it. I had an idea a couple of days ago that I think could make for a good RP:
In 1243-44, a group of heretical Christians called Cathars were besieged by ten thousand Royal French Catholic troops at Montsegur (http://www.celtoslavica.de/europa/photos/Montsegur.jpg). When the castle finally fell in March, the Cathar defenders were burned en masse at the foot of the mountain. However, in the days prior to the surrender of the fortress, several Cathars allegedly slipped through French lines, escaping with some unknown "treasure." There has been much speculation concerning this treasure. Was it the treasury of the Cathar Church, esoteric books, or the Holy Grail itself (the Cathars were rumored to have possessed it)?
The RP begins in the modern day, when archaeologists and historians discover some interesting clues at Montsegur. From there, the RP can take it's own course: people looking for the Grail, people trying to stop them, people trying to keep the whole thing secret, et cetera.
All of this is of course not set in stone, I just want to see what kind of interest there is. Poll in a second.
