OOC: wargames interest thread

I'm kinda bored right now and there's not many real wars going on so I thought I'd host some wargames, train my troops and the troops of other nations who want to participate. My nation is non-human so most MT people might not like it but all tech levels are welcome to participate. I'll make a thread IC if I get at least three other people for this.

I'm somewhat interested. I have been itching for some sort of land deployment.

OOC: I'll look onto this with interest, despite the size, with the possibility of deploying a small contigent (in respect to proportion) of my forces.

Ok, we just need one more person, and Omz, deploy as much as you like, it won't be an issue.

Sweet, number three. Each person will conduct either a single nation assault on the sliver hive or an assault in concert with one of the other nations, once that round of the games is completed and the victors determined there will be a round of wargames where the previous attackers become defenders, this way each army gets training in assault and defense.

OOC:Well, to be honest, this /is/ somewhat different from what I was thinking, even if it is PMT or even FT and the concept/ideas are quite interesting. My sincere apologies for the possibility for a pullout from a wargame, and I'd guess that there's plenty who will be interested to fill up the position previously occupied by us.

Could I get a map, prefered or at least a general terrain idea, including fixed defenses, major pop centers, basically things that could be seen from a satalite.

The site never likes my attachments so it'll have to be a description.

The sliver homeland is a relatively barren and hostile wasteland, approximately every 100 miles a tower standing threestories high is visible, these towers are the entrances to the hive and the only fixed defenses in the nation, each tower is guarded by 1 thousand troopers, 75% muscle slivers with the other 25% the various combat support personnel. The entire nation is subterranean, but the tunnels should easily accomadate three Abrams MBTs abreast, the major population centers are situated in a five mile ring around each tower, with a 1 mile donut in the center that houses the military personnel, a single city houses approximately ten million slivers and there are more scattered about the tunnels doing construction and providing food for the hive on farms where they herd large subteranean beetles and grow certain types of fungi. The queen is in the largest population center, in the center of the nation, the tower above this population center reaches 13 stories and house double the defenders of any other tower, the ranks of the hive tower are also bolstered by the presence of the queen and the overlord, commander of the queens guards and overall military commander of the hive, he is also the only sliver capable of operating independently of the hive mind while still recieving the benefits of being tied into it.

What's the overall size of the land as well as the distance in a stright line to the main tower.
Any weapon restrictions?

The military forces are divided into clusters, one hive cluster is the entire population, one sub-hive is a single city, or 10 million troops, a war-hive is equal to a human heavy corps, approximately 1 million troops, a hive-guard is equal to a heavy division or 100 thousand troops, a hive-tower is equal to the troops guarding a hive entrance, a cluster is equal to half of a hive tower or 500 troops, and is the smallest standard grouping you will find in the military.

The distance from the border to the Hive tower is approximately 500 miles, since the nation is underground they build down alot instead of expanding their borders. The only weapons restriction would be on artillery in the tunnels, in the hive caverns it would work on targets in line of sight of rifled guns, mortars are pretty much out because of the cavern ceilings. You might also like to avoid flamethrowers or HE rounds in the farm caverns, some of the fertilizers blow up, really big, like FAE big, like oklahoma city is a firecracker and hiroshima is a 155 shell big, we're talking big...

The total size of the nation is only about one thousand miles at the widest point, the narrowest point has the nation at approximately 500 miles.

How many towers are there?

Approximately 10 to 15 towers, the borders are pretty much unpopulated and the towers don't start for about 100 miles from the border.

How many troops around each tower?

Each tower houses 1000 troops, three hundred of those are currently in the air fighting the planes.

OOC: each Tower was just invaded by 1000 drawves

not a good plan.

When fighting slivers the best bet is to either outnumber them or outgun them to such a degree that numbers do not matter, versuus dwarves a better ratio would be three to one for the dwarves to win with acceptable losses.

Do you want to just RP the combat of one tower and assume a similar senario happens at each tower?
