New Legislation Passed on Religious Scriptures

Siesatia

In response to terrorist threats, Siesatia has put all Private Religious Institutions of Learning under Siesatian Central Intelligence scrutiny. The reason is reported to be when the Saint Paul II Institute was discovered to be promoting violence against Atheists. And was found to be the supporter in the bombing of a government owned Artificial Intelligence research center.

"These kinds of things just don't happen in modern society." SCI Director Fedrich Hallowblade commented, "We are doing our very best to keep the citizens safe from terrorism, and will use every bit of our power to keep doing so."

The SCI is confident in its ability to root out this mess.

In response to the SCI’s raise in the TTL, Congress announced a new set of legislature on the teaching of religion in Public Schools, and printed and digital forms of Religious Scriptures. All printed copies of the Bible, Torah, Quorum, ect. will be, under law, treated with a disclaimer in the form of a sticker. All digital copies will be treated with a digital disclaimer. All disclaimers will allow the buyer to see what he or she is buying, while not detracting from the reading material. All religions will be banned from practice and teaching in all schools.

Reverend Lawrence T. Waterford, had the following to say,
"Our freedoms are being infringed upon; we cannot stand by and allow this to continue. These disclaimers as they are called do detract from the holy books, as they scare potential converts away."

Political annalist Paul Webber, had this response.
"Every year, a couple hundred people are roped into the web of lies many of these religions contain. If one is to compare a book printed here, to a book printed on earth, one will find many hundreds of changes and revisions the church has built in. Heck, the section on genesis is totally different. My point is, they have rewritten their own religious scriptures to accommodate to modern life. A book created by an omnipotent being would not need to be so changed, as it would have taken into account the future as well."

The church refused to comment on this statement.

Congress plans to remove the disclaimers once the SCI deems the terrorism situation dissolved.

Christians make up 16,000,000 of the Siesatian population.
