Premier Yoni smiled gleefully at the report he was reading from Farmina. it said they were doing away with labor Unions. Wonderful. The premier put down his cup of cofee and be gan to type a letter to the farminian government.

Message to Farmina

We have decided to join you in this great quest. We will join you in this endeavor to rid our graet countries of these annoying unions who threaten our economymany times each year. For Freedom!
-end letter-

He smiled. for too long the AWU (auto workers union) had been striking, slowing the economy down. The AWU (which included all types workers in Concador) would be gone.

He sent the following letter to his minister of Internal affairs, Sam Freut, whom he knew shred his views: "Find me grounds to dissolve the AWU. They can be monetary/taxes or have to do with their policies (maybe they did something unlawful?). Please report back ASAP."

ooc-This (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8854920#post8854920) is the link to the farminian branch of Strikebreakers. speak to him if you wat to join

SIC:

We fully support your actions. If any labour is required to replace striking workers, we for the most part will be able to supply it at a fair price. Our government is also willing to extend credit, if finance is required in this drive for freedom, against socialism and extortion.

Matthew Taylor, head of the Auto Workers Union in Concador, was sitting casually in a huge armchair in the Headquarters of the union. Various other high-ranking members were scattered around the room, which was filled with smoke.

"How's the strike going?" Taylor asked a thin, balding man. "Any closer to victory?"

"Well, it's weird," the man replied, shrugging. "Recently, the Government have quietened down a bit; possibly we're close to victory, or possibly they're planning something."

Taylor nodded. "OK. Either way, we have to prepare for the final push. Get as many of those bastard scabs striking as we can. Set up as many picket lines as possible against the uranium mines, don't let anything through."

"Sure," muttered the thin man, followed by a general murmur of assent from the rest of the room. A couple of them got up and left.

"Right," said Taylor. "Anything else?"

OOC: I picked the uranium mining because it's your biggest industry. If you'd rather I picked another target, I can.

Premier,

The AWU was founded on the condition that a percentage of the money earned through their actions (membersip dues, donations, etc.) would be given to the goverment as taxes, in order to stimulate the economy, as the AWU's job-helping workers against their companies-inherently slows economic growth. This past tax year has come and gone, without the AWU paying a large portion of the taxes. (This happened without our notice, due to our government being embroiled in the FC incident.) We can dissolve them on these grounds without warning for breaking the law on which they were founded. If you like, you may send a letter requesting the money, but I assure you they won't pay--there resources are now being completely devoted to the present strike.

Czar Yoni (you may have missed the thread, but the Premier became a figurehead Czar) smiled and ordered the two Concador Policemen to command Matthew Taylor to hand over the money then and there. "If he doesn't have it, tell Taylor to come back with you to end the uranium strike-and the AWU-in a national broadcast tomorrow. If he resists... explain to him that force will be used to end the strike."

Matthew Taylor wandered out of the AWU's Headquarters in Drufet, looking around him nonchalantly. A couple of passers by smiled and nodded in his direction; one came up, shook his hand heartily, and wished him the best of luck in his strike. Suddenly, two policemen appeared, behind the smiling citizen, who hurried away.

"Can I help you?" muttered Taylor, smirking.

"Matthew Taylor, we have reason to believe you are with-holding Auto Workers' Union tax money from the Government," said one of the policemen, bluntly.

"Oh. I'm afraid I don't have the money on me right now, Officers."

"In that case, we must ask you to accompany us, so that you can end the strike and dissolve the AWU."

"Are you crazy?" Taylor spluttered in rage. "Is this some kind of joke?"
Concador

"No," one of the men replied. "The AWU stifles the economy-face it-therefore you were founded on the condition thet you would pay taxes to the government, in order to re-stimulate the economy. We are here on the orders of the Premier-sorry the Czar (00c-the premier became a figurehead czar in a different thread.)"

"You can't close down the AWU just for a bit of tax money! It's the biggest union in the country! What about workers' rights?" Taylor cried, gesticulating wildly.

"We can, Mr. Taylor," replied the officer, bluntly.

"No way," Taylor shook his head, backing away. "I haven't done anything wrong, neither has the AWU. You'll regret this, no matter what you do. You illegalise the AWU, we'll just go underground, and be harder to find. You arrest me, the others'll still be here. You can't get us all. Concador will regret this. We'll bring this nation to its knees."

Elsewhere, members of the AWU were driving their trucks in a huge fleet towards one of Concador's biggest uranium mines. The sides of the trucks were covered in untidily-written slogans - "Victory to the AWU!", "Fight for Workers' Rights!", "Here We Go!" - and all had the AWU logo plastered over their company's logo. When they reached the turn-off for the uranium mine, the trucks stopped. It took them a lot of maneuvering, but eventually they managed to organise the trucks so that they stood end-to-end across the road.

The 2 men handcuffed him and brought him to CCN's (Cross-Concador Network) HQ. They uncuffed him and shove him in front of a micophone. "You will officially disband the AWU. You will explain why. It will sound like we are in the right. If you deviate at all, we'll open fire on the strikers, with tanks and the 100 soldiers and policemen stationed at the strike zone. We have the most recent member list...we will find the remnants of the AWU, and kill them. If we hear rumors in a few months that you're organizing a resistance, we'll kill everyone on the member list.You7're on live in 3..2..1..."

Taylor shook himself and stood before the microphone, looking around nervously. After a few seconds, he drew himself up and began to speak:

"People of Concador - of the World - this is Matthew Taylor, the head of the Auto Workers' Union. Today I was approached of two members of the Concador Police Force. The AWU, of course, stifles Concador's economy with strike action, and it was agreed on our founding that we would solve this problem by paying taxes to the Government. These gentlemen informed me that the AWU had not paid the taxes we owed to the Government," Taylor hesitated, then grabbed the microphone and spoke as quickly as possible. "Citizens of the world, listen to me now. The AWU is being dissolved by the Concador Government, unjustly, in an attempt to suppress the working classes, the backbone of the economy. These gentlemen have informed me that, if I attempt to inform the world of the truth, they will murder every member of the AWU that they can, especially those at the biggest picket line outside the uranium mine. Murder - the greatest human rights abuse of all. They will kill me now, I expect. But, working people of Concador, and of the World: join the fight for justice! Strike! Do not be defeated! Only then can tyranny be truly destroyed!"

Matthew Taylor, still in his handcuffs, attempted to fight himself free but failed. He screeched at the camera: "Get underground! Vanish! They know who you are!"

The men slammed the emmiter signal off, and one spoke into a walkie talkie: "Round 'em up, use force if nessecary."

The other man also spoke into a walkie talkie, "Begin firing on the strikers."

The first man turned back to Taylor, "We won't kill you, we'll let you see what you have done to your members!" He grinned evilly

Later that day, radio and TV ads started up, speaking about how the AWU stifled the economy, quoting statistics, and other propaganda statements to the people.

OOC: state the membership of the AWU.

We should open this thread up a bit - the only way I can stand a chance is if other nations try to stop you from killing thousands of your own people.

Secret Location, Concador

Taylor's broadcast had been observed by many members of the Auto Workers' Union, and they had immediately taken his advice and gone underground, contacting the others to do the same. The headquarters of the AWU stood abandoned; any large meeting of AWU members was now a highly secretive affair. This was one such meeting; minutes after Taylor's broadcast, leading members of the AWU had orgainsed an emergency meeting in a secret location.

The thin man Taylor had addressed only a few hours stood up and coughed nervously. Behind him, a television screen was on, showing the latest propaganda from Concador's government.

"We are in crisis. Without the aid of the international community, we are finished," he announced.

"Well, Taylor's message should have been sent all over the world; perhaps members of other unions - maybe the construction mafia in Farmina, if they're still alive - will come to our aid," another man replied, glaring with hatred at the lies being spun on the television. "But more importantly, we need to get the workers of Concador behind us. The working class. Maybe even the soldiers."

A woman nodded at the screen. "What about those? They aren't exactly helping, are they?"

"Actually, they probably are. After all, Matthew's message was broadcast live all over the country - millions will have seen it. The people know the truth. This propaganda will just be making them more angry, and make them hate the government more. We need to harness that hate."

Outside the uranium mine, Concador

Some members of the picket line had seen Taylor's broadcast, and tried to inform their comrades of their impending doom, but when the soldiers started firing most were still there. Tank shells thudded around the trucks, sending the screeching strikers high into the air, while the trucks themselves caught fire and rolled over. It was over in minutes: every member of the picket line was dead.

ooc-send telegrams to any nation/union you want to help you, but keep it resonable, I don't want to be dogpiled. Also, in a different thread Czar Yoni died. His daughter is now Empress. For the sake of this RP, she won't go against her father's plan.

IC: Empress Jacqulyn listened intently to the advisor before her. "The ads will hopefully convince the people that the AWU deserved what it got, but we still need to make sure the AWU's leaders don't gather support. I suppose we send police to higher-up member's houses. Hopefully, we'll catch a few."

"But what if they do the same thing as that accursed Taylor? We shouldn't broadcast live this time," the Empress suggested.

"An excellent idea, your majesty, I'll get to it right away." the advisor said, bowing.

"The AWU is an illegal organisation," said one leading member of the union. "People don't generally like to involve themselves with illegal organisations."

Another leading member, this one a woman, nodded slowly. "You're right, of course. But we have a lot of members. We need to organise something. Something they won't forget."

2 hours later, Concador

Three men drove slowly through the capital of Concador in an unmarked car. They were stuck in traffic, and becoming increasingly agitated.

"I'm not too sure about this, you know..." said one, looking around him.

"I don't care what you think, idiot," muttered the driver. "We need to get this over and done with."

The first man shrugged. It was true. The three men sat in silence once more, nearing their destination through the congested streets of Munbuz.

OOC: What's your capital called again?

Empress Jacquelyn issued the order, " Step up security in all cities, you know make sure our police force is felt. Tell them to keep a lookout for suspicious charachters." The man before her noddod and alked out. She absentmindedly looked out the window Any day now we'll catch some of them. Any day now. She smiled.

ooc: BTW, my police force is all-pervasive, in case you want to try an attack, keep it in mind.

The three men continued driving slowly for Munbuz, for the moment completely unaware of the increased security in the nation. When they eventually arrived at their destination - the corporate headquarters of one of Concador's largest companies, which was notoriously anti-union - they accelerated towards it, parked, and got out of the car.

IC: Two police men ran up to the men who got out of the car. Each policemen in Concador had familiarized themselves with the appearance of many of the top AWU workers, "Hey, you! you're a guy from that Union--Stop!" one of the policemen yelled.

OOC: If they're not higher-ups, tell me, I'll find a different excuse to chase them.

The thin balding man who had taken control of the AWU after Taylor's arrest sat down to watch the news. There was a lot of anti-AWU propaganda, and he sighed openly, flicking onto a boring drama. Suddenly, someone knocked on his door; the kind of knock that everyone knows is trouble. When he flung open the door, he was confronted by two police officers.

"May I help you, officers?" he said, carefully.

"You are charged with membership of the Auto Workers' Union..." The police quickly told the thin man his rights.

"I haven't done anything wrong..." he protested. "It's not illegal to be in the AWU, is it?"

One of the policemen pulled out a small video camera, and the other raised his gun. "say thet the AWU hurts Concador, and that anyone with any information on members should send it to the Concadfor Intelligence Agency. If you say anything e don't want you to, you're dead meat!"

OOC: He's talking to a video camera, so don't try what you did wit6h Taylor.

The thin man shouted unnaturally loudly. "No, I won't tell you anything, I don't care if you kill me!"

"Well then, say goodbye..." muttered the police officer.

"I just hope someone catches this on film," yelled the thin man. "I just hope someone films this, and puts it on the Internet!" he repeated.

Munbuz, Concador

Hearing the cries of the police officers, the three men sprinted away, leaving the doors of their car wide open. As they ran, one of them produced a small remote control, and he jabbed one of its two buttons with his finger.

Behind them, the car was engulfed in a huge ball of flame. It somersaulted into the air, crashing into the side of the company headquarters before coming back to earth and landing on its back with a crash, still burning wildly.

The three men put on a burst of speed, rounding a corner into a small side alley, where fourth man waited in a convertible.

"Go!" screamed the man who had pushed the button, clearly the leader, leaping into the passenger seat as the other two scrambled into the back of the car. The car lurched out of the alleyway and down the main road where the car-bomb was still burning, dodging traffic and heading out of Munbuz.

"Oh my God!" cried one of the policemen--a long pointy former piece of car had flew through his stomach. He was dead within minutes. The other man pulled out his Walkie-Talkie to the Police Station: "Three men are on Jackie Street," he turned the corner just in time to see a small red car leave the other end of the alley, "In a small red car, I'm not sure what type."

Drufat:

The man was shot. The camera's tape was replaced with a clean, blank one. The other one wasplaced on the floor gently and blown up by point-blank range by a bullet.

Total Losses from the terrorists: 1 policeman, three civilians (the street wasn't crowded). One of the civilians' mother had an interview on a TV news station in which she cried and cursed 'those rebels'.

As the AWU man was shot, a watcher from across the street, whose attention had been caught by the man's shouting, tried to prevent himself crying out in horror. He had recorded what had happened as the AWU man had suggested, and he immediately went towards his computer and switched it on, linking his camcorder to it.

Munbuz, Concador

The convertible continued streaking down the main road, occasionally scraping against walls, lamp posts and cars as it attempted to escape the capital.

A secret location, Concador

Various leading AWU members had just finished filming. They all had their faces covered and their voices altered. The film went like this:

"Greetings, working people of the World," a woman said. "We claim full responsibility for the recent attacks in Munbuz in Concador. Our target was the headquarters of one of Concador's most anti-working class companies, and we have scored a significant blow for the international working people's struggle. Join us! Concador is suppressing the rights of the working class - fight for your rights! Victory can be ours!"

The film was emailed to Concador's leading news station from a hotmail address that was immediately abandoned. The leading members of the AWU bundled up their few belongings and moved on to a new location.
