Launching a raid from the territory of Niue(Major naval base). 3 marine divisions were shipped to new Caledonia under orders from the military command of Zeeeland to secure the "abdandoned" Islands with another 3 being sent to secure The mariana and Guam islands int the name of the Zeeeland government.

The projected arrivel time to get to New Caledonia would be 3 weeks (with stopover to refuel and reprovision) via the troop carriers "revolution" "Blashoff" and "Janek"

whilst the time to get the Marshalls would be much longer (a projected 6 weeks, with stopovers in "friendly teritories" to refuel and reprovision.) via troop carriers "victory" "Vladimir" and "Saharagrad".

The fleet were Joined by 4 battleships and two frigates.

The Journey will be long and who knows what lies ahead....

The weather outside of Niue was Brisk............ a strong north Easterly wind pattern made the seas choppy for the fleet.. however the plowed through the waves as if they were nothing.... Captain Victor Shenkov looked out the command deck of the frigate "Ivan" admiring his brave crew about to go into the unkown...

"Ivan" led the fleet out of Niue into the great open wilderness that is the pacific ocean. It was dawn and the Stormy weather and the clouds deceived an otherwise Excited Ambience amoungst the marines and other crew on the troop carriers. due to the fact that they were going to fight somewhere new.....

Two weeks out. the fleet were going well. At this point fleet division A ( New Caledonia fleet) and division B( Mariana and Guam islands) departed company in order to get to the respecteive destinations on time...

However the weather just got worse. Fleet A was totally sorrounded by dark storm clouds with a 20 mile radius and pummeled by 20 foot swells. Fleet B was Entering a metaphorical WIND TUNNEL.

"the Clean up crew will have a nice time in port" the captain of the troop carrier Victor mused to his leutenant stepping passed a Spewing marine.

3 weeks later... fleet division A. arrived in the area of new caledonia (around the Noumea region) about 20 miles way from the coast. here the weather died down and as if on cue became cystal calm with a nice breeze..

here the marine command planned the initial attack on noumea...

Two helicopter gunships were launched from the Launching bay on the battleships and flew out to to some recon work on mainland new caledonia to assess the threat posed by any militia on the island.....

meanwhile the fleet were ordered to circle the area untill the recon Gunships reported back to the main battleship......

The Helicopter gunships whirred up to the Exotic tropical Mainland of Noumea. were it was dominated by a massive cliff face covered in Jungle..

The pilots were shocked too see Noumea in pristine order and people going about their own business..... looking up at the sky in awe of the two flying helicopters. allready armed militia wre gathering on the streets

The Invasion may be difficult... The pilot reported on the crpted military radio back to Marine Command..

The message relayed to marine Command did not deter Colonel of Marines Kishka Janekov who ordered that the spetnaz special marines prepare an amphibous beach assault to the shore of noumea before the Local Militia gathered even more strength. They would be followed 5 regular marine contingents and backed up by Smart Missiles from the Frigate Galashnekov who will fire at key Militia instalations....

The attack order was sent down the Chain of command. all troops were ready for action. (ps marimaia Im just Annexing new Caledonia.)

The beach landing went well.. Sporadic and Incoherent bouts of gunfire splashed the water as Amphibous Transport craft entered the Harbour of Noumea...

The marines on the crafts were physched. A comeradery silence fell amoungst them for they all knew some of them would die today......

The first Spetsnaz Ambhibous assault craft landed on a relatively isolated beach front just outside Noumea. were the seargent screamed at his troops to run to the shore. they jumped in the shallow water and waded to the beach front to find.....

No resistance whatsoever....

However It was a different story landing in Noumea itself... soon as a ambhibous landing craft got within 30 meters of the shoreline it was almost hit by a mortar. it exploded in the water right beside it tipping the craft upside down./.. Panicked marines struggled to get out of the Craft in time before it sunk.

The two other Intial landing craft landed relatively safely thanks to a samrt missile that landed directly on the shorefront. wiping out any opposition in the vicinity.....

Ten Companies of Marines rushed the shore line with back up fire from one of the helicopter gunships... another ten were sent...

The main promenade Rue de Paris (Made it up. but every french place must have atleast one Rue de Paris right :p ) was consolidated by the Marine corps after 7 hours of sporadic resistance by the rebel corps. The Captured resistance fighters would not give any details about their resistance leader or what former power had occupied New caledonia.

The Standing Zeeeland Army in the 50 sq km Radius in noumea now stands at 20,000 strong. with another 10 troop Carriers transporting 10,000 more troops on their way....

The army By nightfall had pushed on the the Central Business district and have now encoutered more fierce resistance from the Rebels. The most devastating blow to happen to the Zeeeland marine Corps today was a Grenade thrown under a Light Armoured tank which destroyed both the thrower of the grenade and the Tank with 3 tank crew and one marine who was in the nearby Vicinity when it happened

Loses stand today at:

10 marines killed. 15 wounded

35 Rebels killed 60 Wounded and captured

Rebel Leader Nicolas Banaba (melanesian desent) overlooked at the city of noumea teeming with soldiers through powerful binoculars. from where he was standing (on top of the Noumea mountain) The ensuing battle between the rebels and the marines looked like a raging Ants nest with red ants overwhelming the black ants very quickly.(the rebels being the black ants)

he sighed. "sooner or later a foreign power would have to take over the Island, that was Inevitable" "which one however" he philophisied "could have been chosen"

we will give a good fight to the end he said to his liuetenant We will retreat as far as we can to the north of the island. and make our final stand there. give the order to the men.. and on that note he was scurried away by his bodyguard to his personnelle carrier.

The Zeeeland marine corps pressed on to the center of the island now that Noumea was consolidated.

where dozens of troop trucks drove passed bewildered villagers in the nearby townships and villages.

The troops were on edge as the best form of guerilla warfare was fought in the jungle.................

Captain Jobovich of the Marine Company 101 orderd the convoy to stop.. in the middle of lush Jungle... his natural soldiering instincts smelled a trap in waiting.. get out he urged his men. they were sitting ducks in the convoy of 7 trucks..

Suddenly the first Truck burst into Flames killing all 20 troops abroad throwing the captain to the ground and sending the other marines scurring for shelter..

SON of a &*%&*#%#*# the captain said in his native tongue but kept his composure to give the orders for his men not to fire randomly into the jungle. chances were the would waste all their ammo and hit nothing but trees.

they had to play the same game as the rebels in the Jungle....

Meanwhile the Navy had consolidated its hold on the loyalty islands east of new caledonia with very little resistance.

The top half of new caledonia was captured leaving just a small fraction in the centre of the island in rebel hands. however the battle was more ardous and brutal than expected. loses to Zeeelands marine Corps were growing passed 130 in the second week.

Captain jobovich (former Spetsnaz Elite Sergeant) before joining the marine Corps had a good working knowledge of Jungle warfare. which by now in the middle of the humid new caledonian jungle proved vital to his companies survival. they were split into 5 main groups. In which they fanned out the area carefully each within a couple of miles of each other in case a full scale Guerilla battle broke out. which could happen any time...

A nervous marine gripped his AK for dear life..... he wasnt the only one...

close to the trembling marine a small group of Rebels passed by rendered inconspicous by their camouflage... holding hunting knifves and silenced pistols. ready to do quick kills and retreat back into the jungle. in order to create panic amoungst Jobovichs small division..

back in Jobovichs division
Private Benko wispered to his comrade about how the rebels could be hiding anywhere in the jungle ready to pounce... private Geordi who was trembling agreed somberly and quickly touched his cross which he illegally kept against the will of the commisar. who was nearby flanked by a squad of elite marines and Jobovich himself. The commisar was claerly as afraid as geordi was....

"politics dont go with warfare" Captain Jobovich Thought angrily to himself. he had great Ill feeling to the Commisar who had authority over his whole division yet was trembling more cowardly than a war criminal about to get Impeached.

Jobovich quitely laughed to himslef at that remark. Jobovich resented the way the communist party of the maritime republic had to interfere with all inetrnal activities. including warfare.

suddenly jobovich told his men to stop something wasnt right..... Commisar malenkov would have nothing of it though he wanted to get out of the jungle and back into the safety of the zeeeland Army bases in the north of the island..

"No Jobovich we will continue!!" and with great haste in the name of the Communism" screamed malenkov. Jobovich expected this and pulled out his pistol and aimed it at Malenkov. Malenkov was more in Indignant shock than fear initially. "treason, jobovich. when we get back to Tahiti. i will have you send you to a Gulag so bad and so cold youll appreciate dropping the soap in vfront of big bubba just to stay warm!!!!!

"Untill that time comrade malenkov" Jobovich who was backed up completely by his whole division. i hearby take command of this unit and i will put you under arrest.. untill i decide what to do with you you cowardly son of a @#&%^"

suddenly a bullet whirred past and hit malenkov straight in the head killing him instantly. Jobovich felt pleased the rebels done the job for him.... then told his men to assume battle positions.. this was going to be a drawn out fight...

a Missile fired directly at nicolas banabas Stronghold in the north of the island. Shaking the foundations of the building...

The final battle he thought somberly......... If The martime republic didnt Invade some other nation would of he thought in resignation..

Sniper and the sound of artillery being fired resonated through the building along with screams of death and Agony from both sides..

The final battle would be close and i shall be ready!! Nicolas banaba smiled at his leutenant.

Captain Jobovich rolled to one side as a random stray bullet fired just beside him. he saw a spark before the bullet was fired. (the one tell tale sign, the rebels where using silencers) he leapt drwing his army issue knive and slit the suprised rebel ear to ear across his neck.

The rebel fell dead. Gradually Jobovichs contingent weher gaining the upper hand. however not without losses as with the Commisar, 20 marines died out of the company of 100. with an estimated 60 rebels killed. the conflict in the Jungle lasted a day. The last group of rebels fell back into the Jungle.

"dont waste your ammunition" Jobovich ordered to his men. Company B should pick them off when they come through...

Captain Jobovich and his Company continued to plough through the Jungle

The Rebel faction now held only a tiny faction of central new caledonia where Nicolas banaba was in his military bunker being bombarded by artillery shells and missiles.

this did not discourage the rebels. as more rebels were doing suicide missions rather than surrender. the more territory they lost the more fanatical they became.

in the following week Zeeeland forces captured the small Enclave and all that remained was the rebel leaders strong hold bunker......
