Port Royal, Roycelandia
His Imperial Majesty Emperor Royce I has today changed the Roycelandian National Anthem from the "dull" "Roycelandia Goes Forth to the "infinitely cooler and much more funky" Journey Of The Sorcerer" by The Eagles.
Clocking in at a little over six and a half minutes long, it has been decided that "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" edit of the song (at a more tolerable one and a half minutes or so) will be used for Imperial Addresses to the Nation and Sporting Events (held overseas- it is still illegal to play any National Anthem at a sporting event in the Roycelandian Empire, with the exception of the Olympic Games).
At all other State Functions and Events where the Roycelandian National Anthem is to be played, the six and a half minute long version will be used.
"Since it's an instrumental piece, no one has to bother with crappy nonsensical lyrics written centuries ago, and more importantly, it's not like anyone ever remembers the words to their National Anthem anyway" said His Majesty at the official announcement this morning.
The Emperor's personal Theme Music remains the Imperial March by John Williams, and on the whole, reaction to the change has been positive by most Roycelandians, aside from the small minority of cranky old men and women who complain about everything anyway.
