May 8, 1931,
The glorious leader of The Dictatorship of Drinent addresses The House of Consultants at the capital city Valknein, "My advisors, I have deeply distressing news", he states into the booming microphone," Werin the northwestern part of our glorious nation has issued a declaration of independence. This is not to be tolerated," he screams pounding his fist into the podium," This situation shall be dealt with accordingly, but this is not the least of our problems. After recieving the declaration, I was informed that they are possibley recieving backing from The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ. If this information is correct, the nation of Drinent shall not stand for it. We shall not be insulted by such a inferior country! Let Republicans for Christ know, we shall fully mobilize for war if this information turns out to be true! Until I am enlightened on this issue, we are to prepare Das Schwarze Orchester to invade Werin, and bring order back to the region!" Slamming his fist into to the podiem once more, the last words ring throughout The House of Consultants. The Furhrer steps down, and hails the flag of Drinent before turning and exiting the building.

Premeir's motorcade, en route from Byss International airport to The Great Hall of the People, Byss, People's Republic of Chimehra.

Everyone in the APC was silent as the motorcade made its way through the streets of Byss. Corpral Brynt had been outside the very room where the negotiations had taken place 3 days earlier. Though, of course, he hadn't overheard anything, he could tell from the Premier's face and the haste with which they had left the Republicans for Christ afterwards that things had not gone well. He thought about his upcomming leave, about seeing his family for the first time in 6 months...
The thoughts would not last. The APC rocked violently. The sound was defeaning. Corpral Brynt could barely see through the smoke, and could hear nothing, but he could smell. He could smell what was left of his squad, and the smell of buring fuel...and people. He grabbed his rifle and climbed out through the hatch.
The smoke trail from the rocket still lingered in the air. It was meant for the Premier's limosine, immediately behind his vehicle. All around there was gunfire, The Elite Crimson Guard took up defensive positions around the Premier's limosine and fired back at the masked men who were raining bullets and shoulder fired rockets from all directions...
Suddenly Brynt felt a sharp wind pass by his head. He turned around and saw 2 men, one firing at him. He raised his weapon and fired two shots. His marksman training served him well, one bullet hit the man in his temple. Brynt ran towards the second man, who was reloading his rocket launcher... this was the man who had fired on his vehicle..murdered his squad. The man was distracted and did not notice Brynt as he ran towards him, and bayoneted him in the shoulder. The man yelled out in pain...he yelled in the native language of Republican's for Christ! Brynt pointed his weapon at the man's face, and as tempted as he was to fire, he could not. He knew he was worth more alive.
He looked around him, the Crimson Guard had done it's duty this day. There was no more firing. The Premier was safe. The ambush had failed. The battle was over, The war was about to begin.

"Proceeding with das Furhrer's orders, Das Schwarze Orchester entered the region of Werin. Twenty-thousand Schwarze Orchester troops were assembled for the attack on the newly made capital of Wiren. Resistance into the region was light and easily taken care of by Das Schwarze Orchester. The capital was easily broke into and the traitors to Drinent and das Furhrer were disposed of, and order is being restored as we speak," reported Consultant Stuart von Engel at the assembled House of Consultants at the capital Valknein.
"A investigation is to take place to see if The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ was backing the revolutionary government," stated another Consultant.
Rising from his seat Furhrer Adam Christian Storey stepped up to the podiem," My consultants, it would seem the situation may become even more complicated than originally thought. It would seem that the Premier of The People's Republic of Chimera was attacked by a would be assassin, fortunately he is safe. It would seem that The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ may have been behind this." Raising his voice in the rage to overcome him, he slammed his fists onto the podium," This shall not be tolerated, our neighbor of Chimera was directly attacked, and Drinent shall stand behind them in their desicion to handle this situation. Even if this means war, so be it. Ruhm zur Nation von Drinent!"
The Consultants all rose and hailed their great Furhrer as he turned and exited the building. The war of The Belkan Empires is about to begin.

Interrogation room, undisclosed loacation, somewhere in northern Chimehra

"Who sent you!?!" Segei punched him in the face again. "Again, who sent you you swine!!!" "Talk!!!". This was the longest interrogation he had ever had to perform. Segei had hit him so many times his hand was bleeding constantly. Though officially Chimehra had outlawed this type of "information extraction" years ago, the government had been kniwn to look the other way in extreme cases. And this man definately fit that profile. As the only survivor of the attempt to assasinate the Premier, he held information that could determine the fate of the nation. The attack had been too well coordinated, and there were far too many of them. Nearly 35 of them, and they all fought to the death...all but one... and he had withstood a bayonet wound and 5 straight hours with Segei...
Just as Sergei was preparing to call for another truth serum shot, he spoke, one word only: "Debnam". Sergei did not know much about politics, but he knew that name...

30 minutes later
Underground Bunker, Central Byss, People's Republic of Chimehra

The Premier Could not help but feel nervous. His advisors had told him not to worry, that he was safe. And logic told him that he was. Afterall he was deep underground, under the reinforced concrete megolith of a building known as the Enclave (which served as the Central Command Center of Chimehra's military forces and had been built with the surplus military budget the nation had acquired by staying out of war for nearly 30 years), protected by an entire legion of Crimson Guard armed with every kind of weapon known to man, and still he could not help but look over his shoulder very now and then. The attempt on his life had shaken him badly, it was by sheer luck that the rocket had missed him and he knew it well. And for the last 2 days he had been a virtual prisoner for his own protection. But now he had to put that aside, it was time to address the Central Defense Council... and no matter what, they must not sense that he did not feel in control.
One of the assembled officers began "Good Morning Sir, we are all glad to see that..".
" You may dispense with the plesantries general, I am in no mood for them. As you very well know, there was an attempt on my life two days ago, and if you don't mind I'd like to hear why" Responded the Premier.
"5 minutes ago, Intel informed me of the origin of the assault. And sir... the situation is far more critical than we previously thought. The survivor has been identified as a member of an elite infiltration unit from none other than the Republicans for Christ.", said Comodore Gregorin.
"Impossible!", responded Premier Vaughan, "Why would they attack now? I was sitting right in front of Debnam not 96 hours ago"
"It has been verified, there is no doubt sir"
"I see... well what do we do now?" asked Premier Vaughan. The room was silent. "You are military advisors to the Premier of the People's Republic! Now I want our opinion dammit! What do we do?"
The phone rang. One of the Generals picked it up. After a moment he hung up with the words "understood". "Sir, a few moments ago the Cruiser Emancipator was sunk in the Zeulic Ocean off the coast of Farmosa Island... we think it could have been a Repub submarine."
Grand General Priam, the one member of the Military Council whom the Premier had full confidence in stood up and in a very calm voice said, "We need to go to full alert sir, and it may be time to alert the press"
The Premier thought for a moment, "Very well".

Somewhere deep in the Drinentian mountains in the southern area of the country, das Furhrer holds a meeting with his top military advisor.
"What is the situation concerning possible aid from The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ to the traitors?" asked das Furhrer.
"Mein Furhrer," began Drinent's top General Baron von Stonvein," we now know that Republicans for Christ were indeed sending supplies and money to the traitors. They were received through a cargo ship that was delivering to a port in the Wiren region. It was supposed to be only carrying normal food and textile imports from Republicans for Christ to the Wiren region, but was really delivering arms to the revolutionary forces."
Gazing into the distance das Furhrer stated calmly," The People's Republic of Chimera has lost a cruiser in the Zeulic Ocean, and reports suggest it is from The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ. With this new information we can only make but one choice, and that choice is war."
"But, mein Furhrer, The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ is no weak nation. If we go to war, it will not be an easy one, the losses will be great," stated General Baron von Stonvein.
"It is inevitable now, war is here and now, and we shall fight!" exclaimed das Furhrer. "Prepare for full mobilization of our armed forces, and begin the creation of a new Navy, invasion of The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ must happen, before they decide to invade us."
"Yes mein Furhrer," the General said and he turned to leave.
The Furhrer turned to two high ranking SO (Schwarze Orchester) officers," Prepare a plane to Byss, it is time I visited The People's Repuublic of Chimera, and send a telegram notifying the Premier of my coming," he ordered.
"Yes sir!," the SO officers stated, and they rushed of to make the needed preparations.
Das Furhrer gazed out into the distance, knowing war was inevitable.

An elephant drawn carriage approaches the delegate burrow shaking ice and snow loose in the path.
Inside a hulking figure walks from the carriage and stands at a stone carved podium with a scarred face lit by surrounding torches.
In a fiery rage he says
"Brothers and sisters of the rotten flesh!!"
The 12 Delegates of the regions of the Rotten Flesh acknowledge with a booming roar that does a patriot's heart good.
"Our neighbors, who callously set up these trade embargoes against us years ago, due to our 'uncivilized' ways, these neighbors might be asking for help in upcoming conflicts they may have with The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ. Our one and only export and import country! Are we going to allow our neighbors to destroy our principal link to the world?!"
The people and delegates shout "NEVER!!!"
"I am proposing a strategic war on Drinent. We will pillage and burn their agricultural villages gaining the spoils we should have earned through trade and starving the Drinent soldiers. We will kill every Drinent citizen or combatant that crosses our borders. Every Brother and every Sister within 150 miles of Drinent prepare your family and homes for a war of attrition.
We will unrelentingly attack until the country of Drinent runs red with the blood of their people and their starving soldiers!

"This is outrageous," screamed the enraged Furhrer," The Rotten Flesh has made its first and final mistake." He exlaims this all to his top military adivsors who called him back to Drinent from Chimera, due to The Rotten Flesh's declaration of war. He prepares for a announcement to be broadcasted over the many speakers placed throughout Drinent.
"My people, The Sultanate of The Rotten Flesh has recently declared war upon our proud nation. These barbaric peoples think they can pour into our country and take city, after city. They believe us to be weak, but they have miscaculated. The proud nation of Drinent will stand strong against their tide of darkness, they shall feel the wrath of Drinent. Our might is unquestionable, these inferior peoples want a war, I say lets give it to them. The time to fight is now, the mobilization of the Drinent Armed Forces is under way, let know barbaric Fleshian stand in our way. We shall pour through the country like the great Amazon River, and let them know who is the true power. I say let us fight, my people, lassen Sie uns kämpfen! Ruhm zur Nation von Drinent!"
The announcement ends with the crowds of people, standing, and listening in cities and towns cheering, and chanting," Hail Furhrer!"
"There's The Rotten Flesh's answer to their declaration of war," thought das Furhrer as he and his military advisors planned for war.

The Chosen allowed himself a triumphant smile as he gazed over his domain from the High Citidel of Zeal. He gazed out upon the wonderous land that he and his followers had built. He saw not the blackened skies from the factories. He saw not the poor and disheveled. He saw not the ghost of forests and animals long dead. The Chosen saw light. He knew that this nation was meant to be a light unto all others. He knew that this was the will of God. Why? Because the Chosen had spoken to God. He saw the evil of the other nations and knew that his land must be the light. The nations of Chimehra and Drinent had strayed far from the true way. And he knew, they must see the light. He had indeed ordered the assasination of Vaughan. And yes, he indeed had backed the Drinentian Militants in the north. The assassination may have failed, but it was only meant to serve as a distraction for the weak-minded diplomats of the dark nations. No. The true power of the Empire lie many stories beneath him, far beneath the streets of Zeal. For there, in the Chamber of Creation, a new era was being born. For there, the first generation of Crusaders was being prepared for war. They were a part of a plan The Chosen had put into action 18 years ago to create an army worthy of the Empire. These Crusaders had been taken from their homes at birth and had been groomed over their 18 years to be the perfect soliders, loyal, obediant, and brave to the death. And now, the first generation was prepared; the time was near when there mettle would be tested in the field of battle. The Chosen laughed to himself and turned from the balcony. The doors opened and he entered the Cathedral. The Imperial Gaurd sharply tok up their positions around him. He steped briskly through the cathedral and entered the Cloister of Hope. His top aid and most trusted companion stood waiting.
"Lord Dubya, what news from abroad reaches the Citidel?"
The sniviling wretch of a man steped forward and bowed humbly.
"My Lord, the rulers of Chimehra and Drinent have come together for a summit. It seems that they suspect us. War will soon come to us."
"Excellent. But we must strike before they can organize their forces. I want our forces ready to move as soon as possible. We shall show them the light."
"My Master, It also has reached me that the Sultan of the Rotting Flesh wishes to form an alliance."
"Ahhh. This is fortunate news indeed. It seems that some already see our holiness. But more must follow. We shall not stop until the Entire Belkan Empire bows before our God. Now go. There is much preperation to be done."
"As my Master commands, I shall obey."
As his minion scurried to do his bidding, The Chosen shut his eyes and daydreamed of victory in the name of Christ.

The skies have darkened and rain falls down into the rainforest, as 300,000 troops move through the eastern rainforests. Their destination is to be the city of Rio Branco, where a force of 200,000 troops shall stay, and the other 100,000 troops shall move into the city of Porto Velho. As a added measure, 10,000 SO troops have moved from the Wiren region to reinforce the regular army being positioned into Rio Branco. Military bases are being constructed within the rainforest, and as mobilization takes place a troop count as high as 1 million troops shall be taking up positions within the rainforest.
To back the troops in the cities, artillery pieces are being moved down the river by river boats, about 1,000 artillery guns shall be placed in both cities. The cities then shall be backed by three tank divisions moving from the city of Manaus. The tanks contianed in each divisions are Panzer II tanks, and soon, hopefully, Tiger tanks will be on the battlefield. The Tiger tank has just gone into production today.
Das Furhrer gazed away from the report, satisfied that the eastern cities bordering with The Rotten Flesh, shall be adequately defended. The mobilization of Drinent's forces had moved faster than originally thought, but still slow. The Air Force was being scrambled, with 30 B-17 bombers near the eastern border, and about 100 Spitfire fighter planes were there, as well. He knew that the invasion of The Rotten Flesh was impossible at the moment. The Rotten Flesh has an extensive tunnel network, and the mountainous, snowy country would stop his tanks cold. It would not be long though he thought, before invasion will be possible, not long at all.

Zeulic Ocean, Destoryer Vengeance, 2nd fleet

Captain Le Blanc stood with his hands clasped behind his back, staring out the bridge window at the deck of the destroyer Vengeance. After a moment he turned to look out at the endless expanse of water just beyond. He knew it was useless, that even if the sub was there he wouldn't see it just gliding along unsubmerged, but it was calming. He'd spent the last 24 hours chasing the submarine that had sunk the Emancipator , and every time he seemed to have it right where he wanted it, it managed to slip through his fingers. It had been nearly half an hour since the last sonar contact, since then he had been searching blind, if he found it now it would be by luck alone.
"Sir! Sonar contact 60 degrees to starboard!" shouted the sonar officer from across the bridge.
"Port engine all ahead full, close with that bastard!" Responded the captain.
The ship turned sharply, at least for a ship of its side, and it looked like things were finally going right for once.
"Torpedo in the water!! Vector 010!!"
"Continue to starboard!"
"Aye Sir"
Le Blanc waited patiently, there was nothing he could do but continue the turn. Maybe if the sub had fired before the maneuver began he could avoid it, if not then it was pointless. He could now see the torpedo in the distance...he imagined the path it would take in his mind.. it would be close.
After a few seconds it passed out of view, all he could do now ws wait. He braced himslef and held his breath...nothing. It had missed.
"Sonar report!" Demanded the captain
" 600 meters and closing on target, sir! Target appears to be in full retreat"
The shot had come from the aft launch tube, and he knew from his intel briefing that Republican subs had only one aft torpedo tube. It would take some time for them to reload. This was his chance.
"500 meters"
Minutes passed.
300...200...100...50 meters
"Deploy forward depth charges now!!"
Within moments a slavo of depth charges disappeared below the waves. They exploded gushing water upwards. Then another... and another...
The sonar officer reported "Sir, target's depth is rising rapidly... they appear to be surfacing!"
He had hit them, that could be the only explanation. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the sub violently surface. They were indeed hit, but they were positioned with their tubes facing the destroyer. Cpt. Le Blanc could not risk it, "Forward 5 inch fire!!". Turret turned, the barrel lowered, and a single shell left it. It his right in the command tower of the sub, the impact breaking it in half. After a few seconds it had sunk. He could see a few people in the distance, struggling to stay above water.
"All right boys, let's pick em up"

Elephant trails have been stomped into the ground of Drinent as The Rotten Flesh elephant division of the Trosstan Warriors have ravaged the country side salying townsfolk and burning the villages for two months now. Word has not until now reached officials of Drinent because the Trosstan Warriors ruined eletric and phone line structure and the secluded nature of this region of the country.
As the warlord and his advisors oversee their warriors they begin to see what indusrialization and technology has done for Drinent. Tross sends back a messenger to the delegate's burrow. His message reads:
"Brothers! dispatch our top minds and philosophers to submerge themselves into the Drinent lifestyle and culture, we need to learn of their metal working skills and development of these machines I so often see.
Good Luck you borthers;
News on our obtained locations: We have taken strategic locations in Chongo Bay Drinent's largest fishing port. Let us see how they react."

The outraged Furhrer ordered a counter to The Rotten Flesh's offensive. The 200,000 troops at Rio Branco invaded into the newly counquered areas, and the 100,000 troops moved in near Flesh's northern part of their front. Along with the forces, 50 Spitfire fighters were sent in at the southern part of their front, and 50 sent into the northern part of their front. Hitting hard The Rotten Flesh Forces began falling and their front collapsed, pusing them nearly all the way back to the border. The regular army is equipped with 50cal machine guns, and lugars, which for the unintelligent leaders of The Rotten Flesh, are automatic pistols.
B-17s were flown into the area to bomb any encampments found. With the new position taken up, the regular army has created trenches to hold any attacks against The Rotten Flesh, until reinforcements arrive in the region.
The SO officers from the Wiren region have moved into the region, to coordinate the defense operations, and the tank divisions have now moved to the city of Porto Velho for refueling.

Fondor Square, Byss, People's Republic of Chimehra

Admiral Vladimir stood on the balcony beside the Premier and General Priam overlooking the columns of troops marching below. From this floor of the Great Hall of the People, they had an excellent view of Fondor Square and the massive army and onlooking civillians. It had been an annual event in Chimehra, meant to celebrate the socialist revolution decades ago and to show off Chimehra's latest hardware to the world. And after the last few days, it was reassuring to him to see that even though his nation had been caught off guard, they were still powerful. As rows of tanks and amored vehicles and column after column of soldiers marched past, he could hear the cheering of the people below. He knew that it would take far more for the upcomming conflict, but it was good for the morale, and the extra troops in Byss couldn't hurt the security situation. In the morning he would leave for Port Aeigir to oversee the 1st fleet's preparations for deployment. But for now, he enjoyed the show.

Fort Petrogrlyph,San Salvicon, North East Chimehra

Already several divisions had arrived in San Salvicon, and within the next week dozens more would join. Here they would wait, until the transport fleet arrived. Supplying these soldiers all in one location was a logistical nightmare, but the rails lines were never empty and trains arrived every few minutes. By the time all the other preparations were made, there would be enough food and ammunition to supply the entire invasion force for a month and a half. Which was a good thing, as the voyage itself would take nearly two weeks. For now, all was quiet...

After much time, a mobilized force of 1 million troops were ready for deployment. 200,000 of these troops stood infront of the great House of Consultants assembled in the square below, and all around civilians assemble around the great formation of soldiers. The loudspeakers turned on around the city and civilians stopped to hear the message to come.
"Mein people," began Furhrer Storey,"The foolish forces of The Sultanate of The Rotten Flesh attacked our glorious nation. They believed our blood would run thick on the battlfield, they believed our soldiers would fall to their graves. They were wrong! Their blood ran thick on our own soil, and we will watch their blood run on their own soil before this battle shall end! You, mein soldiers, are the hopes of this nation, the defenders of our soil, the defender of me, your Furhrer. You are my right hand, you must not fail your country, your Furhrer. Let us take the fight to these inferior peoples, let us show them the might of Drinent!"
The crowd roared in approval and everywhere throughout the city. Das Furhrer hailed the soldiers as they marched out in formation. The soldiers marching turned their heads as they pasted das Furhrer, standing high up on the balcony of The House of Consultants, and hailed him.
"War is here and now," screamed out das Furhrer," Let Drinent be heard on the battlefield!"

Fort Deisarnad, Belern

"Forces are quickly arriving here," stated General Baron von Stonvein.
"Yes," replied Captain Zenger," and by morning more than 300,000 troops shall be boarding the trains to the frontline."
"It won't be long now, soon The Rotten Flesh shall feel the wrath of Drinent. The wrath of our Furhrer," said General Baron von Stonvein as he gazed out watching troops stepping out of the trains that had brought them to the fort.

Armored with iron spikes the stolen Drinent fishing ships explored the Rotten Flesh oceans. After only a few days exploration the boats found a small secluded tribe of the Rotten flesh on an island in the Chongo Bay. The tribe was founded by scientists that were long ago banished from the Rotten Flesh because of their inventions. Inventions that would decrease a need of the physical strength that the country is so well known for.
The tribe is everything the Rotten Flesh has been looking for! They have researched gunpowder and advanced metal workings. Representatives of the small Island of Crayzond journey back to the burrow of delegates to share their technology with the rest of the country and once again be accepted by their brothers.
Tech Report:
16% of troops ride Elephants with 14'' cannons
68% of troops equipped with well made melee weapons
20% of troops are equipped with crude muskets
5% of troops use their strength to their advantage and are equipped with 90 lb gauss rifles.
144 Armor Plated Drinent fishing ships equiped with musketeers and 56 steam powered steel ships equiped with basic canons and 1% of the military is now in the Navy
Tross's combat notes:
We'll be pulling out all troops to our own borders and awaiting any Drinent attacks. We meet them with a region wide attrition warfare until we further industrialize, we await word from the Republic of Christ.

After decades of war between The Northern empire of Anatore and the Southern confederacy of Dusis over the fertile lands of Chimairedz, the two have decided to merge as one state: The Armed Republic of LiirHra. Leaders from both nations met at Khar-Toba calling for peace, but in light of recent world events decided the only way to keep it was to combine forces as one nation. As the two nations share technologies and build trade lines, it is expected economic conditions will improve.

"Brothers and Sisters of The Armed Republic of Liirhra we of the Rotten Flesh have waged war against our neighboring state of Drinent. The nation refuses to trade with us because of our differing culture. Now with addition to the embargoes Drinent threatens our principle trade country!
To you we offer neutrality or a chance to rise up with your country's new found unity and with us and fight! A fight for free international trade!"

Anatore and Dusis fleets shall be combined and mixed untill all fleet airships and planes can be replaced with new units based on combined technologies. It is also my plan to develop the islands of Tomeas Sigma and Tomeas Pi and make preparations for a sea fleet with ships large enough to land airvehicles on. Great Hall of the People, Byss, People's republic of Chimehra

The Premier paced through his office, hands clasped behind his back, staring off into space. The People's Congress had just declared war on the Republicans. That he was prepared for and was counting on. What disturbed him was the sudden shift in the global diplomatic stage. In less than 2 weeks everything had changed. The Werin seperatists had been backed by the Republicans, and Chimehra found itself with an unlikely friend. For years, Chimehra's armed forces had been geared toward a land campaign against the fascists to the north, and this assumption had caused the People's Army and the Crimson Guard to be the first priority in the defense budget year after year. Now the effects of this were comming to light. Much of the People's Navy had been assembled for the invasion of Republicans for Christ, and advance elements were already reaching their waters. Chimehra, strong as she is, did not have the resources to attack and defend simoultaneously. The Premier was taking a gamble, and he knew it.
Even more disturbing was the Rotten Flesh and LiirHra. Rotten Flesh was a backward nation, but she was strong enough to hold off Drinent, and even cross its border. LiirHra had only come to exist in the last few days. Chimehra had been friendly with the north and had not had diplomatic relations with the south in ages. A diplomatic envoy had to be dispatched at once.

Intel had already intercepted plans for an alliance with the Rotten Flesh, enemy of Drinent, ally of Republicans. If LiiHra accepted their proposal, the invasion fleet steaming toward Republicans would be in grave danger. The supply lines across the ocean had to remain open, lest the invasion force be halted not by enemy fire but by hunger pangs.

A knock at the door. "Enter". "Sir, you're prescence is requested at the Enclave at once". "Very well, prepare the escort". Though Byss had been thorougly searched and her garrisson strengthened, the Premier never went anywhere without escort anymore. He walked out his office and into the hallway, flanked by two Elite Crimson Guards on either side. What was it that so important that he had been sent for in the middle of drafting a diplomatic proposal?

Hail great nation of LiirHra, we The Dictatorship of Drinent are pleased to see your country united as one. Of course we fully recognize your new government. As you know, we are currently in a situation of war with our neighbor, The Sultanate of The Rotten Flesh, and The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ. Though we do not wish for you to jump into a war, with your new government just formed, but ask yourself this, what the world will be like, if The Holy Empire wins out.
The religious fanatics will turn to your independant country, and demand you to join the Empire or fall. These are facts that you cannot deny. I wish you goodluck with the running of your country, and hope to see you as a possible ally of The Dictatorship of Drinent.

Forces arrived in by the train full, the numbers at border swelled to over 700,000 troops along with 4 tank divisions that are now stationed behind the trenches. The invasion began while 250,000 troops moved over invading to the south, 300,000 troops straigh in, and 150,000 troops moved up north. Leading the charge are 10,000 SO troops, 5,000 of them going with the northern group. Planes had be moved over to the Rio Branco air field, and over 150 Spitfire planes flew outward expanding out attacking small forces and cavalry forces moving in the region. Once the planes moved through, 2 tank divisions moved in to the south and 2 straight in. The forces blasted away the weak troops of The Rotten Flesh running in about 50 miles into the country, stopping as the mountains began to loom over the troops. Defensive positions were taken up and bases and temporary airfields were being constructed, as the forces prepared for the major fight to come. The troops are ordered to stop here, for the mountains would pose a great threat with the extensive tunnel network, no furhther advances will be made until, the new weapon was made ready.

Battleship Defiance , Flagship of Chimehran 1st fleet, 50 miles off the south-western coast of Republicans for Christ mainland.

Admirial Vladimir stood on the deck gazing out across the horizon. It was sunset, and it was difficult to see anything with the glare from the sun reflecting off the waves. He had hoped for more time, more ships, more planes for this attack, but he had what he had and there was nothing he could do about it now. It was no small force he was leading, in fact it was about half of Chimehra's total naval assests. From the Defiance he commanded 5 other battleships, 3 Trident-Class carriers and their assorted aircraft, 12 cruisers, and about 35 destroyers, not to mention that until they hit the beach he was in command of the entire invasion force. He had been worried that his fleet was not large enough to defend the convoy of transport ships, but in the entire voyage they had encountered only a single Republican destroyer. Now that the fleet was at anchor only 50 miles from the coast, they were at their most vulnerable point. If it was discovered, the fleet would not only have to deal with the republican navy, but they were within range of land based bombers as well. The sun had nearly set, it was getting dark now. Vladimir picked up his radio and called to the bridge, "Dusk protocol, switch off the lights", "Aye, sir" was the response. Within moments the Defiance's lights were off, and the rest of the fleet followed suit. Admiral Vladimir took a deep breath and sighed, he would be getting no sleep tonight... he hoped the diversion to the north would go as palnned..

Around Juniper Island, off the central west coast of Republicans for Christ

Leuitenant Hiesen looked to his left and right. "Good", he thought, "They're still in formation". His squadron had launched from the deck of the Knight Errant nearly half an hour ago. Despite the reports that there was a Repub flotilla in the area, he had yet to see a blasted thing. He had been told just before taking off of his mission's purpose, and he didn't like the idea of leading a diversionary attack. But still, it was not his call to make. If he did manage to find those ships, his squadron may very well alter the course of the war. The 4th BattleGroup had been sent here to do just that. Though it was a small force compared to what was amassed to the south, (one carrier, 3 cruisers, 9 destroyers, 6 subs), as long as the Repubs didn't find out there were no transports, this would seem like the invasion area and draw out their main fleet. Heisen was no master strategist, but he could understand the logic for placing the diversion here. It was the only island that would give Chimehra a base from which airborne troops and bombers could be launched against the mainland, and the Repubs were probably expecting it to be attacked.
"Sir, 12 squadron reports contact in sector 6, requests assistance, over"
"Here we go boys, break formation on my mark and head to 6, 3...2...1...mark"
The entire air wing would be descending on those ships now, but the surface fleet would remain out of sight. Heisen skimmed along just above the water and armed his plane's only torpedo, when he got within range he let it loose. It hit one of their destroyers, but caused minimal damage. "Dammit!"
He pulled up, dodging the AA fire as best he could. Now he had no more torpedos, all he could do was cover the remainign planes on their strafing run. Out of nowhere a repub fighter was on his tail, firing. Heisen broke right, trying to lose him. His plane was not meant to be a dogfighter, but still he was able to dodge most of his enemy's fire. The fight went on for 3 minutes, and his plane had only taken a few minor hits. Then the guns stopped, he looked back, and the fighter was a piece of burning metal falling toward the sea, one of his wingmen must have gotten it. As he turned to return back to the ship, his entire body suddenly went numb. He saw blood on the window... "How did that get there?", He thought, "I didn't...". Then he felt the searing pain. He looked down, his entire body was punctured by tiny shards of metal. He noticed that he no longer had control, the propellor had been blown off by a flak shell. As he fell towards the water he took one final gaze at ships he'd been sent to destroy. Most of them were ablaze. The Republican's fleet would come here for sure, at least his death would mean something. Then it got dark...so very dark...and then nothing.

The new front remained quiet throughout the two days it had been held. Commander Jeinken had expected no counterattack from The Rotten Flesh Forces, they new that their armies would fall if they attacked. Troops were arriving at Rio Branco daily, and supply trucks had arrived to the front.
Commander Jeinken sat at his desk at the small base that had been contructed, when a messenger ran into the room.
The messenger was overwhelmed with exictement, "Sir!"
"What is it," asked Jeinken looking over papers at his desk.
"Sir, we have recieved word that the new vehicle is ready, they are being shipped to the front as we speak." replied the messenger.
The Commander stood up eyes wide in astonishment. The new vehicle was not expected to be ready until much later in the war," This changes everything," he thought to himself.

"Here sir," the messenger gave the commander a folder containing to blueprints and stats of the vehicle.

Blueprints
It was a brand new mechanized unit able to traverse over mountains with incredible ease. It had been developed somwhere in the mountains of Drinent for testing. It was called a Mech Armored Suit, or MAS. It stood over 20ft tall with a pilot seat, covered by a windshield similar to that of a plane. On the pilot compartment, two Class-12 machine guns, and a small 2in gun on the underside, with a piercing bullet to pentrate armored units.
To complete it two legs shaped after the look a birds legs, move the mech about. The MSA reaches speeds of up to 20mph on open plains, and can easily move over mountain ranges.

"Excellent," thought the commander," Finally we will be able to show The Rotten Flesh, we mean business."

Das Furhrer, and Admiral Zurkon, reviewed over the newly completed Battleship and Aircraft Carrier that stand tall in the harbor of the capital city of Valknein. The Battleship Valknein quietly begins to roll out of the harbor along with The Aircraft Carrier Drinent.
"I am pleased with the progress made, to assemble a more modern navy so quickly," said das Furhrer to the Admiral.
"It is wonderful mein Furhrer, everything is going much quicker than we originally anticipated," replied Admiral Zurkon.
"Two Destoryers have recently been finished and were launched from Port Vernan, Rio de Janeiro, along with two subs," stated Admiral Zurkon.
"I want a convoy of ammunition supplies to be sent out, if Chimera's invasion of The Holy Empire is successful," stated das Furhrer.
"Of course, mein Furhrer," replied Admiral Zurkon," we had already planned for such an act."
Das Furhrer shook his head in approval, and hailed the Admiral, who hailed back as das Furhrer turned to leave. The Navy had to be improved if any successful landing on The Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ was to take place by Drinent.

Cuiaba, Drinent
The situation with the Airforce was much better, since Drinent had always taken great pride in a large Airforce. The Drinent National Airforce Commander met with General Flasen to discuss stragety involving The Rotten Flesh.
"Air raids are needed on the island of Crayzond," said a infuriated General Flasen. "If our Airforce is so great they would have launched one by now. It is very obvious that this is the key to The Rotten Flesh's industrialization."
"Then an air raid shall take place, this very day," calmly stated Airforce Commander Zeangegan. "We have the ability to unleash one straight from here. The B-17 bombers can be called on at any time, there are about 100 stationed here at the moment."
"Then let them fly Commander," replied General Flasen," We can no longer delay, we can't allow The Rotten Flesh to industrialize anymore than it has. If we invade guerrilla warfare will be waged, and the battles will be fierce. We need to take advantage of their weakness now."
Commander Zeangegan called in a messenger and calmy stated," Scramble the bombers for a raid on Crayzond island."

2 Hours Later,
The skies filled with B-17's as they took off from the airfield headed towards Crayzond island. Their mission is to bomb the major cities on the northeastern coast of the island, particullarily hitting any industrial centers in the cities. The destruction of The Rotten Flesh's war machine was beginning.

The Chosen glared at the multipul televisions set up in the Imperial War Room. How dare the Nation of Chimehra attack our fleet? The penalties would be great.
"Lord Dubya."
"Yes, my lord?'
"The Republic of Chimehra has sealed its fate. I think it is time we show them what we are made of. I want The majority of our troops to be amassed in the west and south. The rest, are to be sent as an invasionary force to the Sultanate. From there, they will proceed towards The Republic. We shall force them to devide their forces while their ally is preoccupied with the Sultanate."
"And the Crusaders my master?"
"Ahh...yes...they are to be our greatest weapon. We shall send them along with the invasionary force. The Battle to the South seems to be mainly a sea and air war. Their talents would be wasted there. They shall go to Chimehra and there they shall fight from the West towards Byss. After the fleet of Chimehra is beaten, we shall proceed to open up a second front on their eastern shore. Byss will fall, and We shall then use Chimehra to fight Drinent. The southern rebels will be a great help to us I am sure."
"It shall be so my Lord. And then the Empire shall rule this world with the iron-fist of Christianity!"

Meanwhile on the Western Shore...

Captian Gere stood upon the bridge of the Pale Horse, his Rapture-Class destroyer and surveyed the horizon. The small fleet of Chimehran Destroyers were almost in range.
"Biggs...direct the main guns to corrdinates 2.756329! Were gonna give these bastards a suprise once their in range."
Closer they crept...
Ever closer...
"Sir. The ships are almost within range."
"Very good Biggs. Be prepared to fire the instant a good shot can be taken."
"Yes sir. Prepare to fire men! Lets give em-"
A sudden blast rocked the ship.
"What the hell was that?!?" the captian screamed.
"Torpedos sir! we've been hit on port."
"Fire on those sons of bitches! We'll show them what Holy fury tastes like!"
The Pale Horse opened fire on the destroyers as the sun tainted the morning sky a bright red. It would be a long day...

Das Furhrer looked over the new MAS units that had been developed, with great approval. They marched by him in the square below the great balcony from which das Furhrer stood hailing them. He looked on as they marched towards the train stations that they would be loaded into, to take them to the front. The power of Drinent was growing, the standing army had now amassed to over one million troops, and a million troops were already at the front now. Along with 2,000 MAS units being shipped there, and this group of 5,000 was now headed that way. The war seemed to be going in favor for The Dictatorship of Drinent.
"The Sultanate will be overan, and Lord Dubya's forces will be crushed inside The Rotten Flesh's country, and his plans shall be scrapped," though das Furhrer. Everything is going better than originally planned...

Off the SW coast of the Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ, Chimehran designation: Condor Beach

Private Zeitzev felt eeriely calm as his landing craft disembarked from the transport ship. Most of the men were fidgetting and some had even vomited, but not Zeitzev. It wasn't because he was especially brave, that was certainly not the case. He was in denial, his mind had not yet accepted what was about to happen. The roar of the cannons from the bombardment fleet behind him and the equally loud booming of the coastal artillery assembled in front finally made him realize what was happening. He heard a huge crash behind, and when he looked, he saw that the cruiser Spearhead had taken a direct hit to the bridge from one of those huge cannons on the hill to the north of the beach, and was slowly capsizing. He turned quickly back around, he would not be looking in that direction again. His stomach twisted itself into a knot and hurled on the man infront of him, he did not seem to notice. The loadmaster shouted "This is it men! Remember your training and you'll make it back alive! Good luck!". And with that the ramp flung down, and immediately afterward a hail of bullets killed the men in the front of the boat. The rest jumped over their bodies and ran as fast as they could. Zeitzev jumped into a crater left by one of the shells. Something hit his leg, he looked down. It was a grenade, a Chimehran grenade. Some fool had paniced and thrown a grenade at him! He leapt from the top of the crater just in time, the shock wave threw him a few feet. Crawling, sprinting, jumping from crater to crater, form the cover of one beach obstacle to another, he finally made his way to the embankment below the bunkers. When he got a chance he looked back and saw the bodies of his fallen comrades all along the beach. The cruisers and battleships kept firing, but why werent they hitting the bunkers?? They were overshooting. He heard his sergeant bark some order, but he could not hear what it was. A few seconds later an engineer blew up a piece of the barbed wire that was blocking their way. every man nearby poured through the opening, and on the other side was a squad of Republican soldiers firing mortars. They drew their sidearms but most of them were killed before they were able to fire. They were at the base of the bunkers now, too close to be fired upon. Beta company, or what was left of it were all lined up against its wall. Sgt Lerst peered around the edge, there was a machine gun team set up behind sand bags. Zeitzev was ordered to accompany the advance team up the hill to the rear of the bunker while the rest of the company would prvide cover fire. When they opened up Zeitzev ran as fast as he could, the machine gun team had to take cover for the moment. When they were near enough, one of his comrades tossed a grenade at them and it exploded killing both men in the team. A second later that soldier dropped dead, something had hit him in the head, Zeitzev would never figure out where from. Zeitzev kicked in the door to the rear of the bunker and tossed in a grenade. Someone yelled in that infernal tounge of the Holy Empire, but they were quickly silenced. The team poured in, fighting their way through the hall way to the front of the massive bunker. When they got their, the machine gunners were too busyy firing at the troops below to notice. A fighter came in low to strafe the bunker and the gunners ducked a little and fired at the plane, though they didnt hit it. Zeitzev and his team opened up on the gunners with their backs turned, they never had a chance. One of the other men threw down what looked like a grenade and yelled "get out now". Zeitzev thought he was crazy but when it didnt explode he realized what was going on. It was a smoke canister. The team ran at full speed through the corridor and out the back. With the bright red smoke to help them see the camoflauged bunker, one of the ships scored a direct hit on it. Bits of concrete flew all over the battlefield. Many men had died in the first wave, and the fighting was still raging all across the beach and on the others, but Private Zeitzev knew the day would be theirs...

Meanwhile, off Juniper Island...

"Damn!" yelled Captain Pellios as yet another shell hit the side of the Knight Errant . The Repub navy had taken the bait alright, and they were far away from the invasion beaches, but this was not supposed to happen. The plan was to draw them out to sea by attacking their light forces and retreating, causing them to search the area and be occupied, not to actually enage their main fleet. Already several of the escort ships were sunk or sinking, and most of the Errant's planes were down. The entire western fleet must have been bearing down on them. In the distance, a Repub cruiser erupted into a ball of flame, but out of the fog behind it came another. Something in the corner of his eye caught the captain's attention. "Oh my God.." he said as the dying plane spiraled towards the bridge. He leapt to the floor as the plane crashed through the window. Luckily it hadnt exploded, but the impact damaged most of the navigation equipment, there was no hope of making it back to Chimehra now. He picked up the radio and gave a final order to his fleet, "This is Knight Errant to any and all surviving Chimehran vessels, your orders are to make haste to retreat by any available means back to the nearest port city of Drinent, disperse and some of you may make it back, good luck". With that he turned to what remained of his command staff, one of those Rapture-Class destroyers was far too close. "Turn to port vector 175, full ahead all, tell the planes to draw that destroyer's fire for as long as possible." The crew knew what that meant, and they obeyed. The Errant steamed forward, taking heavy fire, the deck was falling apart, but it stayed together just long enough. When the hull of the carrier collided with the destroyer it ripped it in half. With a smile on his face, the captain turned to look out the starboard window, just in time to see the shell impact on the bridge...

The next morning
War Room, The Enclave, Byss, Chimehra

"Losses were greater than expected, sir. Nearly 75% of the first wave was anniahlated. After the second wave, things quieted down, but casualties, we estimate, are still above 14,000.", said Colonel Rogh, "Several destroyers and a couple of cruisers were also lost during the invasion"
"How far inland have they made it?", inquired the Premier
"Advance elements are already several miles inland, but we are approximately 8 hours behind schedule. The resistance was much more fierce than we anticipated", responded Rogh.
Priam broke in, "And what of Le Herge, we must take that city and its port if we are to bring in the brunt of the invasion force?"
"Recon flights over Le Herge show there have been no reinforcements as of late, troops levels remain the same, however our contact in the Vatican tells us that troops have been ordered west from Vatican I and the Central military zone in anticipation of our invasion, however most of them were sent north near the diversion we created. It will take quite some time for them to arrive, and by then we should have secured Le Herge and a significant foothold on the mainland."
The Primier then remembered, "And what of the diversion, did they take the bait?"
There was a pause. Priam broke it, "Sir, their fleet took the bait, and their main force set sail for Juniper as expected. However, they arrived more quickly than we thought, and the diversion fleet was unable to escape."
With a noticable dissappointment in his tone, the Premier asked, "Survivors?"
"We lost contact withe Errant over 12 hours ago, A cruiser and a couple of destoryers managed to break out, but one of them was too heavily damaged and had to be scuttled."
The Premier turned around facing the huge strategic map on the television screen on the wall. "Very well, let us hope their sacrifice was not in vain"

Back on Condor Beach

The sun was rising, and with it Zeitzev could see the heavy equipment finally rolling onto the beach after his divison had fought all night to secure it. In the distance a Repub tank that had somehow managed to slip around was hit by a shoulder launchered Panzer-Schreck and erupted into a red-orange fireball. Gunshots could be heard from the front a little further inland, and a trail of POWs were being marched to the makeshift detention center in one of the less damaged bunkers. He'd done it, he'd survived.

Das Furhrer had heard the news of the diversion fleet, and new that refuge would be needed for any surviving ships. A Cruiser and a destoryer had just recently arrived at Fleanz a port city on Drinent's western coast. After hearing this news das Furhrer immediately rushed from Brasilia, on plane, to Fleanz. Das Furhrer looked at the Chimeran destroyer and Cruiser anchored in harbor. He had personnally come to see the Chimeran sailors and greet them, for this is the first time any Chimeran troops had been in Drinent before. Das Furhrer new, as well, that tensions between Chimera had been high before war broke out, with their ideological differences about government policy.
He gave the same speech to both crews which he visited promptly, hailing them in Drinent fashion, and praising them for their efforts in the war. He even went downtown with a few sailors for a quick drink.
Finally, after the day had ended he was on his way back to Brasilia, which was the base of operations. He had hoped to accomplish a strong alliance with Chimera as best he could, and it would seem that, he impressed the sailors quite well, but now it was back to business. The Rotten Flesh had not counter attacked and 2,000 MAS units were now at the front. The 5,000 MAS units were already more than halfway there, but there would be more needed for the battle to be won. Not to mention the possibility, of The Holy Empire's troops moving through The Rotten Flesh to attack. Time would only tell for the outcome of the war, but The Holy Empire had to be stopped, and das Furhrer knew this.

Downtown Le Herge, Republicans for Christ

Private Zeitzev peered around the corner of what used to be a bank in downtown Le Herge. Instantly bullets hit the side of the wall perpendicular to him and pieces of brick hit him in the face. The machine gunner(s) in the building just down the street had held off his company for almost half an hour. Though the dockyards had been taken days ago, the Republican soldiers that were still in the city fought tenaciously. most of the city was secure by now, save the downtown area, where most of their remaining forces were surrounded and putting up a good fight. They were few in number but the urban fighting made if difficult to advance. The city had all but fallen, and thousands upon thousands of troops and their equipment were pouring in now that a port had been captured. "Zeitzev, Connor, Thresp.. on my mark I need you open up on that window with the gunner so Grange can take postion to snipe the bastard", ordered his sergeant. "3..2..1..go go go!"
They turned the corner and started firing, not really knowing where to aim, only the general area. The machine gun opened up on them, and Connor was hit in the arm. He fell to the ground and dropped his weapon in pain. The other two stopped and pulled him back to cover. If they had seen Grange slip by and behind the pile of rubble a few meters back they weren't showing it. Zeitzev peered around the corner one last time, and the musszle flash that followed from the gunner gave away his postion. Grange took aim and fired, and the shooting stopped. "Down the street, Alpha Squad take the 1st floor of that building there" his sergeant said pointing, Beta and Charlie advance to the corner. They did. From their vantage point in they could see a group of T-34 tanks comming down one of the wider streets. A sneaky Repub soldier fired a rocket from one of the buildings at one of the tanks that had already passed him by. The crew opened the hatch and jumped out, two of them on fire. Another tank turned its turret and fired the main gun into the window which it had came from. The column stopped for a moment. Nothing happened. Then they proceeded onward. Zeitzev and his squad moved around the corner took positions behind a recently abandoned makeshift barricade the Repubs had made from overturned cars. Out of a basement across the street a small group of Repub soldiers came out bearing a white flag. The resistance was now reduced to only a few blocks in the city center, completely surrounded, the dockyards and airport had fallen. In a few hours, Le Herge would fall...

Dockyards, Le Herge, Republicans For Christ
Another ship docked at the offloading center, cranes lifted up another tank and placed it on the dockside. Another was offloading huge crates of ammunition and food. Already nearly 100,000 soldiers were in and around Le Herge, and another 150,000 were still on the ships. A few squadrons of bombers had been off-loaded from the ships and driven to the recently taken airport, but for the moment the planes from the carriers had acheived air superiority around the area. Surely by now, though, they had figured out the diversion to the north was a trick. The Republicans were alot of things, but stupid was not one of them.

General Priam's Office, Enclave, Central Byss, Chimehra
Priam overlooked the latest casualty reports from the front. 14,000 or so from the landing, another 6,000 from Le Herge. It was a good thing the diversion had worked, otherwise the city would have had much heavier defenses. From here, it was either southeast to the other side of the peninsula to cut off the rest of the Republicans stationed there or north to the oil fields...which way to go? Taking the peninsula would garuntee a strong hold on the mainland, but those oil fields were critical to keeping the republican armored divisions going...which way...which way?

Admiral Zurkon had sailed with a force of 10 battleships, 30 destroyers, and a aircraft carrier. The objective was clear, the city of Barrow was to be taken, no resistance was to be expected, since The Rotten Flesh had no navy. Their only worries would be a few Republican ships, which would be unlikely. They had set sail two days before, and were coming up on the shoreline of Barrow. Only a small encampent of tents could be seen, as was expected since Fleshians stayed in their tunnels.
Admiral Zurkon gazed out of his binoculars from the flagship Zenchist, as the battleships began to move into position right off the coastline. The guns of the ships roared to life, hitting the encampment, making it instantly rise into flames.
Admiral Zurkon looked about him as landing crafts began moving out towards the shore. Vearla stood in the front landing craft boat, she peered out looking at the shored getting closer and closer. She saw Rotten Flesh warriors fleeing from cannon fire from the battleships. A grin found itself upon her face, she looked behind her, at her sisters in arms, they were Das Schwarze Orchester, the elite of Drinent. They all squirmed with restlessness, ready for the battle ahead. They were trained for this soul purpose, to fight and die, for their country, their Furhrer.
The landing craft hit the shore and the door swung down, with the SO troops poured out of the small ship charging up the shore.
"Let your guns sing for Drinent," Vearla yelled as her sisters in arms rushed past her firing into the warriors scrambling towards the tunnels. "Leave no one to run back to their leaders, let them all fall this day," she yelled.
By this time the other landing crafts began to hit the shore the troop count was barely even 7,000, enough to handle the primitive people of The Rotten Flesh. The troops stopped infront of the cave entrance the warriors lucky enough to flee into had ran. One regular army troop moved towards the entrance, and a arrow slammed straight into his forehead, without a sound he feel to the ground instantly dead.
"We halt here," commanded Verala," and take up defensive positions."
Supplies began getting to the wooden docks of Barrow. Modifications would be made, but for now this would do, and once the reports of the success made it back to Valknein, troops would begin to be landed here for the seiging of The Rotten Flesh.

Leningrad, Republicans for Christ

Agent Volkov peered out the window again, he was still not here. "Where is he... he was supposed to be here half an hour ago.." he thought. A week before, the Chimehran Intelligence Service had recieved a coded message from a Republican officer who would not identify himself. In the message he had requested a meeting, and had hinted that he had intelligence valuable to the war effort. There was a knock at the door. Volkov moved to the door and slid open a small window, ""Yes?". A man on the other side answered, "Papal Indulgences", that was the code word. Volkov opened the door. The man was in plain civilian clothing, but Volkov recognized his face from old breifings back at CIS headquarters. The man in front of him was none other than General Powell, personal aide to the Emperor himself.
"Were you followed?"
"No"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I am sure, but we must hurry, it won't be long before they realize I am gone."
"Then lets get down to business, what is it that you have for us?"
Powell pulled out a folder from his overcoat and slid it across the table to Volkov. "Have you ever heard of Operation Divine Creation?"
"No.."
"I did not think so. My Emperor used to be a great man. He used to be a champion of Christianity, he used to be a servant of God. But now... now he serves only himself. He claims to be doing the will of God, but he does his own. And the people they... they no longer know the difference. His word is the word of God in this place. They are so blinded by him that when the Imperial guard began sporadically seizing infants 20 years ago, almost no one raised an eyebrow."
"Seizing infants...for what?"
"For the Crusades, the last war to rid the world of the infidels."
"I take it that would be now?"
"Yes. My own son...he was taken from me 17 years ago."
"And?"
"My wife, she killed herself a year later. Ive been searching for him ever since, but the Emperor keeps these things quite secret. A few weeks ago a friend of mine in the Crusader program gave me his location, but there is not much I can do."
"What is it that you want us to do?"
"I want my son. Find him, and I will do whatever I can to aide you. It was I who made sure the Imperial Army stayed well away fro your landing areas, get me my son and I will give you the Emperor himself."
"I will see what I can do, general."
"For your sakes, I hope so. If my son dies, make no mistake about it, I will not rest until I have your head personally, Agent Volkov. And you know it is within my power to do it."
"How do you know my name??"
"Ha, you Chimehrans, always thinking you've got everything figured out... I must be going. I will contact you again soon. Until then, I must keep up appearances that I am going to repel your forces, but I will not stand in your way, just do not go too fast...yet."
And with that he left.
Volkov grabbed his jacket and went out the back door. "HQ is never going to believe this...."

Current Situation of The Dictatorship of Drinent
The war has ended with the withdrawal of all Drinentian forces in The Sultanate of The Rotten Flesh. The threat of tunnel networks under Rio Branco, and the threat of Fleshian forces burning the surface from their tunnels has prompted this retreat. The war has started something that was becoming more and more inevitable as time had passed.
Drinent has always had a history of being ruled one person. The region was highly divided in the beginning, with warring clans claiming large territories. Eventually a victorious clan emerged, they called their territory Drinent, which under their leader Furhrer Vaulter Vein Valknein, they lead their armies onto the battlefield destroying all that opposed them. That began the first dictator to rule, naming the capital city of the newly formed nation of Drinent, Valknein.
Chosen heirs by the dictators have taken rule time after time, and the regions have grown constantly unstable of recent date. The current Furhrer, Adam Christian Storey, had planted seeds of revolution unknowingly, with his progressive and partial liberal views on issues. The people of the Wiren region had rose up and failed, but had shown over regions that it was possible to rise up against the government.
Not only that, but the war has left many people humiliated by their government, with their withdrawal of The Rotten Flesh. The Dictatorship of Drinent was nearing its end, and the Furhrer new this. The region of Wiren has once again began becoming more rebelious to the government and choas is beginning to ensue. On top of this, the socialistic region of the southern half of Drinent has become more and more dangerous.
The southern half of Drinent, has always been more socialistic, since the successful socialist revolution in The People’s Republic of Chimehra. The people their have been mostly satisfied with the current Furhrer, but know that it is only a matter of time before a more radical one replaces him. Which, with the current situation, is quite possible, since many people our infuriated with the Furhrer’s decision to withdraw forces from the war.
His chosen heir Admiral Zurkon, has been publicly speaking out against the Furhrer in major cities around the Valnein region, which is the eastern half of the country. Members of the House of Consultants have begun to side with Admiral Zurkon. If Admiral Zurkon is to achieve power, the war will start again, and his radical racial policies will come into place. Tension is growing between the regions, and their will be only a matter of time before violence breaks out.

July 12, 1931
Furhrer Storey, was assassinated by military officers two days ago, and Admiral Zurkon
has become the new Furhrer of Drinent, or what is left of it. The eastern area of Drinent, now called Drinent, has been openly attacked by the region of Wiren. Revolutionaries their call for democracy and have received help from much of Drinent’s military that is still in the area. Many soldiers feel disgraced by their government, for quitting the war in such a worthless fashion. Their troop count is estimated to be up to one million. Many of the troops are poorly armed, and are using hit and run tactics on bordering cities and towns.
The situation in the south has become dangerous as well, forces have been brought together for the cause of socialism, and industrial centers are being taken, and cities are allying themselves with the socialist cause. Which will definitely cripple the Furhrer’s ability to wage war with many of Drinent’s industrial centers located in the south.
Das Swarzche Orchester is holding off Wiren troops for now, but their front is beginning to collapse under the constant attacks. The South has not attacked but troops are beginning to move up towards what is left of Drinent. They are well armed, unlike Wiren, and high command fears, that if they attack Drinent will fall, and chaos will ensue. The Civil War of Drinent has begun, who shall emerge victorious?
On top of all of this, Zurkon’s insanity has lead him to believe that Chimehra is helping the South, and has sent a telegram telling the Premier that all relations between Drinent and Chimehra are over. If tensions keep up, Zurkon may lead the country into a conflict with Chimehra, and with the current situation will only insure the dictator’s regime certain defeat.

Tula, Republicans for Christ

Powell had arranged for his son to be assigned to the Tula garrisson a week before. He had pulled many strings, but he was able to make sure he was on patrol in the industrial district. Agent Volkov now had the chance he'd been waiting for.
Agent Petroika started the van and drove towards them slowly, as to not raise attention. It was a dark night and few people were out. When they reached the corner that Powell's son's squad was posted. They came to a stop at the stop sign there, the spot could not ahve been more perect. Volkov slid open the van's door, and he and 2 other agents opened fire on the unsuspecting soldiers. Two of them jumped back and managed to get into an alleyway. Powell's son ran back to join them, all the rest of the squad dead or wounded on the ground. Volkov leapt out of the van and tackled him from behind. His weapon dropped and slid across the pavement out of reach. Powell backhanded Volkov off of him and began to draw his combat knife. he lunged at Volkov, and he was barely able to grab his wrist and stop him. As he held the knife away from him, Volkov grabbed his needle of sedative and stuck it in Powell's neck. Under the cover of the other 2 agents he dragged his body back to the van. As they sped away, one of the other Crusaders fired trough a window, striking Volkov in the shoulder. "ARGHHH!!"
He was wounded, but Powell would have his son. Volkov did not know what he planned to do with him, as he was completely indoctrinated, but he did not need to knowe. That wasnt part of the deal.

Surrender Meeting, Deck of the Battleship Vengeance, docked in Leningrad Harbor, RFC

The Chimehran advance had finally reached the capital. With the help of General Powell's influence with the Emperor, no counter-attack was ever attempted. Though the Imperial Army had fought tenaciously in the defense of the Holy Empire, especially on the outskirts of the Vatican and on the lower peninsula, every attempt to repel the assault was under supplied and was eventually turned back. With the Vatican under direct attack, the Emperor had fled the city, and Intel had no idea where to. Equally disturbing was the sudden disappearance of the Crusaders. There had been scattered rumors of a secret hideaway in the depths of Siberia, and others of a hidden island somewhere in the Zuerlic Ocean... but none could be confirmed. For the time being though, as the highest ranking official of the Republicans for Christ government, General Powell had agreed to a surrender, with certain terms to ensure the survival of Christianity in his homeland. The People's Republic of Chimehra was eager to agree, due to his cooperation during the war. The Surrender Terms are as follows:
1. Within 2 months of the signing of this treaty, the Holy Empire of Republicans for Christ's Imperial Army must be reduced to a force of no more than 75,000 for no less than 25 years.
2.The Imperial Navy must dismantle or sell all ships larger than the Rapture-Class Destroyer.
3. The Imperial Air Force may have no more 450 combat aircraft.
4. Christianity shall continue to be the official religion of RFC.
5. For a period of 5 years, General Powell, assisted by a council of High Priests and a democratically elected legislature, shall have control over the civil affairs of the RFC. At the end of this term, a popularly elected legislature alone will decide the future government of RFC.
6. With the signing of this treaty, all Chimehran forces will withdraw from the mainland of RFC, with the exception of a garrisson force of no more than 15,000 to be stationed in the Vatican to ensure the transition of government in the capital.
7. RFC may never again be ruled by the Emperor Matt Debnam, Lord george Dubya, nor any person of blood relation to them.
8. All prisoners taken captive during the conflict between the two respective nations shall be released immediately.
9. All territory gained the People's Republic of Chimehra shall be returned to RFC control immediately following the signing of this treaty.
10. Should any article of this treaty be violated by RFC, the People's Republic of Chimehra reserves the right to intervene as neccessary to enforce said articles.

A few hours later, On the steps of the Imperial Citadel, Vatican City

Chairman (Former General) Powell stood in front of the crowd. The artillery barrage of the captial had ceased earlier in the morning, and thousands upon thousands had left their homes to hear this speech. Many ni the crowd were unaware of the Emperor's disappearance and were expecting him to give another speech declaring victory. Powell would have to convince them..
"My Brothers in Christ, the time has come for a change. Our Emperor has deserted us! I do not refer to his flight from the capital earlier this week. No! He deserted us long ago! We have, all of us, been decieved by his treachery. he has raped our Glorious Bible, he has twisted the words of God for his own bidding! The true way is not that of war, and death, but of peace and unity! This war has gone on long enough! We do not have to rid the world of the nonbelievers! Brothers, lay down your arms! Without the dark overlord's herecy to keep us down, together we will reach the Promised Land!!!!"
The crowd was silent. They had never heard words of this kind before. There was no applause, no cheering, no tears of joy from them. But there was no screaming, no threats, no accusations of herecy, and that offered a gleam of hope...

Beginning the next morning, the first waves of Chimehran troops began loading the transports for the boatride home...

Shots could be heard ringing throughtout the forest, as SO troops were swarming over the small outpost that Wiren troops had setup. Wiren troops in the area were fighting well for their lack of equipment, but the outpost was being overran.
"Damn," shouted Commander Vonstien. "This is insane, how does General Stiekvit expect us to hold out in this war. We don't have enough weapons for every soldier, and we barely have enough amunition. These damn SO troops are so willing to die for their Furhrer, they just won't give up."
"It is an unfornate situation," replied his second in command Scharz," even though we are killing countless amounts of those bastards, they just keep running from out of nowhere. I had no idea the Furhrer had so many SO troops."
"It's the only troops he has still loyal to him," replied Commander Vonstein. Grabbing his 50 cal machine gun he headed for the entrance of the tent. He turned to say something to Scharz, but before he could, he was shot right in the back. Before Steikvit could react the assassin of Vonstein, rolled to the side, throwing a combat knife straight into Scharz's neck.

August 15, 1931
Rio Branco, Wiren
"Sir," said a messenger who just ran into General Stiekvit's headquarters.
"What is it," asked General Stiekvit looking dismally at a map of the region.
"Sir, the small outpost Commander Vonstein took up has been overran."
"Damn, what I'm I supposed to do now, those damn SO troops are swarming through the forest, and post after post is falling."
"Sir, that isn't the most distrubing news, the commander and his second command Scharz, were assassinated during the attack. Soldiers returning say it was a high command SO troop, the one and only Freanz..."
"What," exclaimed Stiekvit," I thought that thing had died years ago, he was never seen during Furhrer Storey's rule."
"Well it would seem sir, that the gas mask wearing creature is back, and if he is on the front, it can mean that the Furhrer is becoming desperate and wants you dead."
General Stiekvit paced the room nervously looking around, as if expecting Freanz to be in the room right next to him.

A little information on this character called Freanz. During the reign of Furhrer Sephont(The Furhrer ruling before Furher Storey), a experimental program began to create a super soldier. It was secretly being developed for a war with Chimehra, that Sephont thought would soon be coming. The people forced to be used as patients in the experiment were all killed, except one, Freanz. Freanz is what is thought to be his name, but EXP05 is his experiment code name, which he is also referred too.
Many have no idea what he is anymore, for he is always wearing a gas mask, that was designed out of some metal material for protection. He wears complete black with the common SO troop boots and a long black trench coat. He was always by Sephont's side during his reign, then when Furhrer Storey took over, he was never seen again. Many believed him to be a failed project and whatever he was, had died, but this new turn of events shows he is still alive, and out on the front.
His only purpose is to assassinate all that oppose the Furhrer, the perfect SO officer, completely void of all emotions. The perfect killing machine...

Puerto Alegre, The South
Troops were pouring in from the southern most regions. Troop count was numbering over 600,000, and artillery equipment siezed in the region were arriving there. General Fevan, and the leader of the socialist movemnet, Nienkt Govast, met in the courthouse of the city, as a temporary headquarters.
"What can we do," asked Govast looking at a map of the mountainous regions north of them.
"Well," replied General Fevan," if we plan to win this war, we have to take out Brasilia. We are fortunate to have no attacks yet, since the Furhrer seems to be occupied with Wiren at the moment. Brasilia is a powerful city located by the largest fort in Drinent, and not to mention two airbases are there. If we could take it we would knock Drinent out of the war."
"How can we, the place is highly defended, and we have maybe 60 flyable fighter planes, and they aren't even over here with the troops."
"I know, it will be risky, but now is our best chance to take the city. I have a plan to do this. We split the army into three forces. One moves to the east, one to the west, and one directly for Brasilia. The forces in the east and west will be sizeablely smaller, but will carry all the major artillery pieces. We have to hope that Drinent, High Command is too preoccupied to realize that the army coming straight to Brasilia is a diversion. The army that attacks straight in will get the ball rolling. I estimate by the second day of fighting the two other forces will arrive, catching the forces in Brasilia off guard, which hopefully will cursh the city."
"What of the air force?"
"The diversion force will have to deal with air attacks until the other forces arrive. The air bases are located on the western side of the city. Once the western force arrives, they will have the task to immediately begin to siege the air bases. The eastern forces are to siege the city on its eastern side. Until the two other forces arrive, the diversion force will have to stay in the mountains on the outskirts of the city. Once the two other forces arrive, the main offensive takes place. It's a long shot, but its the only thing we can do. Brasilia has to fall."
Govast looked grimly at the map of the region surrounding Braslia. "Lets do it," he said.

Valknein, Drinent
"Mien Furhrer, your people are becoming more and more disloyal to your rule," said Constan, the personal adivsor to the Furhrer. "Though Wiren is losing ground now in the war, more and more cities around their region are growing more distant to your rule. Uprisings are taking place all across towns bordering with Wiren. The South has not acted yet, but high command believes that they will attack in a matter of time. The military is deserting you, only your SO officers and SO troops remain loyal to you. It is only a matter of time... YeaGGHHH!!" Constan yelled out in pain, as the Furhrer had turned to look at him, a SO guard shot Constan through the chest.
"I'll hear no more of this grim news," stated Furhrer Zurkon. "My forces will not fall to that scum in the north, and that worthless trash in the south. I will no longer hear of this nonsense of forces deserting me. We will just recruit more and reinforce the SO troops in the north and send a attack force to the south. Yes thats it, yes thats what I'll do..."
The Furhrer was falling into a most pitiful state, he frequently talked to himself, and refused advice from his generals. The faith his people once had for him was now failing, and many were fleeing from the surrounding towns around the Wiren border, into Wiren itself. The Furhrer had begun making plans for counter attacks with troops that didn't exist, and his generals had to listen and nod with agreement, if they wished to live. Drinent was crumbling before the Furhrer's eyes, and he did not even realize it. High command was preparing for complete defeat, and was planning on ways to flee the country. It is only a matter of time...

Rio Branco, HQ
A soldier fell dead before General Stiekvit as he turned around, seeing EXP05 crawl down the wall from the cieling. Stiekvit was one not one to panic, and ran to the opposite side of the room grabbing the only weapon he could fine, a saber that hung up on the wall on display.
He turned around staring face to face into the black googles of EXP05's gas mask. Stiekvit swung, only to be blocked by a dagger in 05's left hand. Steikvit caught out the corner of his eye 05's right hand coming in with the bloodied dagger he had killed the soldier at the door with. Stiekvit fell back rolling across the floor coming up to his feet, and immediately hitting the defensive, since 05 was on him right as he came up.
05's daggers swung furiously, but Steikvit was a well trained fighter, and didn't let up the defense. Steel against steel rang out.
Stiekvit thought it strange, at first, that no guards had ran in, but then he remembered this was 05, they were dead...
Stiekvit crouched down as daggers went other his head, cutting a few peices of hair. Stiekvit then kicked his feet out tripping 05 to the ground, and slam the saber slashed right into 05's stomach.
The thing made a gurggling noise inside its mask, and blood ran out of the huge gash across its stomach. It slowly rose to it's feet.
"No, its not possible," exclaimed Stiekvit.
The creature looked at Stiekvit and made a muffled gurgglely laugh, as he laughed the saber fell to the ground, but that was not the only thing that fell. 05 looked down just in time to see his bodily organs fall out of his huge opened gash, Stiekvit lost no time in this pause. He rolled forward grabbing the saber and jumped up, slashing the sword across 05's neck, blood poured from his neck. 05 took a couple of steps forward, then fell dead on the ground.
Stiekvit fell down against the wall of the room, and sighed.
"The Furhrer has tried to take my life," thought Stiekvit," but he has failed, and the war shall continue on."

Northern Rain Forests, Drinent
"Finally, something is going right," said General Gonvanston as he looked forward seeing SO troops retreating before the Wiren troops. Machine gun fire rang throughout the jungle, and SO troops were dropping like flies. It was the first major victory in the war for Wiren. All across the front, SO troops were losing momentum and falling back.
"We have reached a turning point in the war, it would seem," stated Commander Dna'isten. "The SO troops are falling before our superior numbers, and faith in the Furhrer is failing all across Drinent. Just recently I have heard reports of thousands of people coming into Wiren escaping the Furhrer's rule."
"Well, its about time something is going right in this war, I hear that even the Furhrer's power is waning in Valknein. But those are just rumors, we need to focus on whats at hand, and thats killing this SO bastards!"
The General pulled out his pistol and shot a SO officer that had just ran beside them fleeing the area.

Foreign Policy Council Meeting, Great Hall of the People, Byss, Chimehra

The Premier sat at the end of the long meeting table, listening to his advisors endless debates. The war with RFC was over. But there world was no less difficult. "Comrades", said Senator Mills, "as you're no doubt aware, the situation in Drinent is worsening. Zurkon's new Reich is in chaos, and he has sent threatening telegrams to us accusing us of aiding the revolutionaries in the south and..."
"As well we should be!", broke in senator Gregorin, "For too long we have watched our brothers to the north be oppressed and trampled by Fuhrer after Fuhrer, and what has our "glorious nation" done about it, I ask you? Nothing! This is the time to strike!"
"Comrade Premier, though I don't have the zeal of comrade Gregorin, I must concur that something has to be done. But not what my esteemed comrade has suggested. Zurkon is a madman, yes. But he serves a purpose. If he maintains power, Drinent will be in a continual state of war until there is nothing left of her. If we support him, he will destroy himself without any need for us to intervene." retorted Secretary Hannagen.
"Comrade Premier, it would be a grave error to listen to act in this way", broke in Senator Oder, " Our people are happy, we have emerged victorious from a war, why risk it all on this? If we intervene in this matter, it could be political and economic quicksand, and it could take us decades to recover."
"And Chancellor Renald, as leader of the Senate, surely you can offer some incite on this matter?" asked the Premier.
"..if I may say so sir. None of my comrades here are seeing the bigger picture. It took our forefathers years to overthrow the Czar. For decades afterwards we were a backward nation struggling to survive amongst a world of capitalist warmongers and religious zealots. Now we have pulled ourselves up from the mud, we have become a major power in this world, and we are the only Socialist nation left. With the RFC all but disarmed we have removed a great threat to our people. The Rotten Flesh and its Feudal ways, despite recent advances, are weak. LiiHra is young and fragile. The Asylum States are isolated and vulnerable. And Drinent, our longtime advesary turned ally, turned nemesis is imploding from the inside. And what of Chimehra? We are strong, stronger than ever! Can we just throw that away? We have a chance, for the first time, to ensure the survival of our way of life for centuries to come! We could wipe away the evils of oppression, inequality, ignorance, and violence from all of Belka! Forever! I say the Age of Chimehra is upon us gentlemen!"
Premier Vaughan got up from his chair and began walking around the table. It was a way to ensure everyone in the room knew he was in charge. The assembled advisors would ahve to either crane their necks around uncomfortably to see him as he talked, or look off into space like a fool. "Comrades, I agree something must be done. But we would be fools to rush into a situation like this without proper planning and all available information. I will not send money that could be better spent, nor will I send our soldiers to die for an unworthy cause. We will wait. For the time being, I want envoys sent to all 3 factions to ascertain their present situation. If they are to be helped, let them ask for it. Until our expeditionary forces return from RFC, we will not intervene in this crisis. For now, we let the diplomats to their job."

2 hours later, 3 ambassadors boarded their assorted planes for the flights to the factions of Drinent.

The situation has become hopeless for The South. The forces had moved off as planned but a new development had occurred, the western forces had ran into trouble. The group of 200,000 troops had moved off with a majority of the artillery pieces. They were almost there, and in the next 12 hours, they would be upon Brasilia, the diversion force had already arrived.
The diversionary attacks had just started when Brasilia called in all patrolling units, and that included MAS units.
The Western forces were coming through a pass, when up from the ledges above them large machine gun fire rained down on the troops. Thousands fell dead running for some form of shelter. Before anyone else new what happened the attacks stopped, then the sound of planes could be heard. The troops looked up and in complete astonishment as they saw five B-17 bombers unloading their payloads right over them. The MAS units that fired down upon them had scouted their positions long before they got to the pass, and had setup the ambush.
Fires raged as supply trucks blew up and screams rang throughout the pass, then all fell silent...

One Day Later, at Brasilia
The eastern forces had met some resistance but reached the city on time and the shelling began. The Commander of the diversion force heard the artillery fire, and looked out seeing the eastern forces, but saw no attack from the West. He figured them to be running late, and since the eastern forces had already attacked he gathered his forces, and they began their charge on the city. A large open area was at the base of the moutain to the city about a mile to be exact, and as they began to run across, fighter planes moved down from the skys getting to low alttitudes firing into the troops. As if, the situtation couldn't get worse tanks rolled out of the city and artillery began firing from inside the city bombarding the troops.
In about an hour the diversion force laid dead in the field, with a few soldiers escaping into the mountains. The eastern force commander saw what had happened and began issuing a retreat, but it was to late, tanks rolled out of the city speeding towards them, along with a troops. The small eastern force was crushed, along with The South's hopes of winning the war.

The leaders of the socialist movement stood lined up against the wall of the courthous in Puerto Alegre. Moments earlier, SO troops had rushed into the city slaughtering what little was left of the resistance, and had rounded up the socialist leaders. The SO officer Grebanon grinned as he pulled out his pistol, and walked up to each leader and shot them straight between the eyes, one by one.
Another important thing had been discovered, when they intercepted the leaders, they found out Chimehra had decided to send an ambassador, to meet with the leaders. The SO Commander grinned with this news, the ambassador would meet with a leader, but not the one that Chimehra had hoped for.

Moments later...
The Chimehrain plane landed on the air strip, and the ambassador walked out, to see guns pointed straight at him.
"What is the meaning of this," he asked beginning to panic, noticing the uniforms of the troops were SO uniforms.
A SO officer walked up casually," I believe you are little lost, are you not?"
"What are you talking about," asked the ambassador, beginning to visibely appear shaken.
"It seems you have landed in the area of Drinent's enemies, you must be lost. The Furhrer is in Valknein, you'll only find traitors here, dead ones."
The SO troops lowered their guns and grabbed the ambassador by his arms and moved him along to a plane with the Drinent flag painted on it's sides.
"Your making a big mistake," yelled the ambassador," Chimehra will not stand for this."
The SO officer only laughed as the SO troops carried him off.
"I would consider yourself lucky," he yelled, " you could join your socialist brothers and sisters here, in their graves."

The ambassador captured in The South walked into a grand chamber. Escourted by two SO guards he was moved up to the Furhrer, sitting in a grand throne at the opposite side of the room. The Furhrer was engaged in conversation with the ambassador sent to Drinent from Chimehra when he finally made it to stand beside the other ambassador.
One of the SO guards whispered into the Furhrer's ear, and then turned and left the room. The Furhrer looked at the two ambassadors with a grin.
"It would seem my assumptions were correct," the Furhrer said quietly. The level of volume he said the statement in, made it seem he was more so talking to himself than the ambassadors.
"What assumptions might seem correct," asked ambassador Corvestof.
"That Chimehra was backing the South. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!"
"We have done no such thing!"
"Silence, I shall hear no talk from some Chimehrain scum, you two leave back for your country and tell your leader that if he does any actions to harm Drinent, we will declare war."
The two ambassadors turned to leave, walking quickly across the room ready to leave, when a shot rang out from across the room. Ambassdor Corvestof fell dead, the Furhrer had shot him!
The other ambassador, which was the one captured in the South ran out of the room.
"Only one person is required to deliver a message," the Furhrer whispered to himself.

War Room, Enclave, Byss, Chimehra

The Premier sat alone in the room with General Priam, wondering what to do about the recent situation in Drinent.
"What are we going to do Boris? They've rebuffed every attempt to solve this peacefully. Hell, he shot the messenger, literally."
"Comrade Premier, Zurkon is a madman. I know we've tried to be cautious, but even if we had settled this without a fight, how long would it be before he recovered and attacked us anyway?"
"Point taken General. But how do we handle this? I have to report to the Senate in a few hours, and I've either got assure them that we have everything under control or ask them to give me the green light to take action here."
"Well the first thing we have to do is solve this situation at the border. Droves of them are fleeing into Chimehra to escape Zurkon's retribution. The refugee camops will suffice for now, but if we don't find some way to stop his forces advacne, he will soon be at the border."
"What of the resistance forces still in the south? If we can make contact with them, could they keep them bogged down?"
"Well our intel is fairly sketchy, but I think they could at elast buy us some time for the expeditionary forces to arrive. Also, there are massive arms depots in Vladivostock in the RFC waiting to be dismantled. There's alos some remnants of their fleet, mostly transport vessels.."
"Could they make it to Werin, General?"
"Yes, comrade Premier, I don't think Zurkon's naval forces are sufficient to stop them."
"Very well, General. I want shipments to begin immidiately. As for the south, we still have several divisions guarding the border. We need them reinforced, move up the reserves from the Central Plains. Get the 2nd and 3rd Crimson Guard Legions out of San Salvicon and Farbanti and up to the Manchurian border. I don't think Zurkon can mount any kind of amphibious attack so they are useless where they are. When the expeditionary forces return, they need to be funneled through San Salvicon and be stationed further back as a reserve."
"Very good sir, I'd also like to send in some CIS operatives to the rebel eladers in the south, preferably with some Communication equipment and weapons."
"Do what you must, but we will need all the supplies we can muster when the time comes, do not waste away too much"
"Yes, sir"
"Good, General. High Command is will need to be briefed soon, and I trust you are capable of doing so?"
"If I must"
"you do, I have to try one last time with Zurkon. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a telegram to write"
General Priam saluted and left the room.

Telegram to Zurkon

Furhrer Zurkon, I am writing this as a last attempt to restore peace. You have refused to acknowledge all past avenues of diplomacy and have even gone so far as to kill an ambassador. If you will suspend offensive operations against Werin and South Drinent, The People's Republic of Chimehra is willing to act as a mediator to achieve a peaceful solution. Despite your assumptions, Chimehra has not aided any revolutionary groups within your borders. But, if forced to do so, Chimehra will not hesitate to defend herself from aggression. Should you refuse to comply, or at least acknowledge this plea, Chimehra will act with any and all enccessary measures to ensure her own security. I, and the world, await your response.

All across the frontline, SO troops were falling back to the slow advance of Wiren troops. Wiren forces had taken many casualties, but SO troops were outnumbered greatly, and falling away due to losses and Wiren's superior numbers. The advance in the south has moved across the Madeira River, and is moving slowly towards Tapajos River. Norhtern forces have moved down to northern side of the Amazon River, holding their positions.
The northern forces under the command of General Xeiankt, halted and are taking up defensive positions. They are waiting for the advance of the southern forces to cross the Tapajos River and moved north towards the city of Santarem. This city is a majoy supply line for Drinent soldiers, since supplies have been going up the Amazon River and dropping supplies off at Santarem.
Eastern forces were now heading towards Macapa, a port city that is located on the east coast. If taken it would cut off all supply lines that are headed up the Amazon River. If these key cities fall, then the war will turn greatly in favor of Wiren forces.
The Rotten Flesh
27-05-2005, 05:31
The people of rotten flesh love their brothers and sisters and with the deaths of so many from the war, a time has come to lament the fallen.
Tross was the master of ceremonies in the mourning fellowship.
"We have gathered the dead and have loaded them all into one of our two remaining ships. In the the paralel ship we have the most potent of our explosives packed into the hull. Tonight we will send our fallen warriors to Valhalla!"
The crowd roars to hear the old tradition of spiritual transcend by sea brought to a national level.
"Watch the boats cast out to sea and remember those you loved and push their spirits beyond this foul world!"
The two ships, guided by small crew of martyrs, slowly approach the horizon when the right ship explodes with tremendous force, throwing the ship of bodies into a splinter and flesh whirlwind.
Meanwhile in the upper atmosphere an airship manned by an alien crew from an alien nation desperately searches for water to take root in.
"Iswosk! we've lost all sense of direction, this thick atmosphere prevents us from communicating with our satellites!"
Iswosk Verfor responds in unyielding determination
"if we can't exit this atmosphere and complete our mission of invasion of the trade planet we'll just have to set up base here."
"this is uncharted barbarous land!"
The Iswosk proceeds
"Navigation report!"
"I see some light to the left, an explosion perhaps? A light In a body of water not far below us, we could land by that."
"Prepare the roots for landing and taking up the soil by that light"
The crew is terrified by the Iswosk's wrecklessness
"Iswosk this is scuicide! we can't land by the light of an explosion!"
"Proceed as commanded. What kind force could such a planet's people yield anyhow"
Back on the ground the rotten flesh people are in a jubilee on the coast of chongo bay. Tross is taking a well deserved rest with his harem when his national intelligence commissioner approaches to have a word with him.
"Tross! many of the martyrs servived the explosion!"
"intentionally!?"
The commissioner holds two young gaunt men by their soaked garments one in each hand. He throws them to the ground in front of Tross. The Commissioner yells "On your knees villains!"
The martyrs drip blood and water in front of an enraged Tross.
"Heretics!! Do you realize how your cowardly decisions could send an entire mourning nation into a frenzy!?"
One of the heretics mutters "an invasion, by ship we survived to warn you".
Tross looks in disbelief to the commissioner "I'm not here tonight for discipline. Make sure these two are taken care of." Tross turns his back and walks back to be with his harem. Screams of martyrs and the commissioner are heard in the dark on the coast with tides of invasion.
Chimehra

September 3rd, 1931
Taipei Observatory, Taipei, People's Republic of Chimehra

"What do you mean 'new'"? asked Dr Long
"Exactly what I said, in the last 48 hours exactly 46 new stars have appeared in our hemisphere. They are completely uncharted, and they seem to be moving at rapid speeds." Replied Dr Chaing
"Oh my God, that can only mean asteroids!!" said Long
"That's what we thought too, at first. But they are moving in very strange patterns, not like any asteroids I've ever seen."
"Strange?"
"Almost like... in a formation. Look.." said Chaing as he laid a picture taken from the observatories telescope on the table. "This is from 2 days ago, when the first ones appeared. This is 3 hours later. This one 6. Notice how these two here switch places from picture two to picture 3. They are in the exact same position as the other was, but they have moved."
"Can we gauge the distance?"
"Not unless we can estimate the size, which we cannot."
"Ok. Keep working, I want to be updated on this every half hour. I'm gonna get on the phone with Byss. Whatever these are, something has to be done about it."

A few hours later, Enclave, Byss, Chimehra

"WHAT?!" exclaimed Premier Vaughan
"For the moment they aren't visible to the naked eye, but every observatory we own has confirmed the findings." replied Commander Trotsky
"You used the word 'formation'. Are you implying that these are some kind of...ships?" Asked General Priam
"We just don't know, comrade General. Until they get much closer we will be unable to tell anything more than their relative positions." replied Trotsky.
"Commander, would you mind stepping outside for a moment." said the Premier
"No sir, comrade Premier." witht hat he opened the door and stood outside.
When he was sure the door was shut and no one outside could hear the Premier said "Does this have anything to do with Nymph's report?"
Two days earlier, en route from vladivostock, RFC to Werin, near the Rotten Flesh, with a cargo hold of RFC weapons that had been turned over, captain Nymph of the 3rd heavy transport flotilla of the merchant marine had reported seeing a bright light in the sky and what looked like a fireball heading toward the ocean. He also said it had seemed to steer itself toward land and though visibility was poor, he was sure there was no explosion from the impact.
"We are looking into it, however we have no operatives in the Rotten Flesh, nor do we have any aircraft capable of reaching that particular spot for aerial recon." explained General Jerrod.
"Have any aircraft been sent to Werin from RFC yet General?"
"The first ship should be arriving with them soon, comarade."
" As soon it is offloaded I want recon flights over that crash site. Have the planes take off from the road by the dockyards if you have to, but we must know what is going on out there."
"I'll relay the orders immidiately, comrade Premier." said Jerrod, and with that he left the room in the direction of the communication center.
"Excellent, are our returning expeditionary forces in postion yet?"
"The last of them have disembarked the transport ships, but it will take several more days for them to all be in postion, sir."
"Excellent, until we have more information we will not let this crisis delay our campaign with Drinent." .......

(Seeing as how no one else has written anything, and I have nothing to do for awhile, I'll take the liberty of going on..)

September 25,1931
CCTV-6 Broadcast Room, Dowtown Shanghai, People's Republic of Chimeha

"We're on in 5..4..3..2..1.."
"And now on to the evening's two top stories. First, the crisis to the north. It was another bloody day in the city of Sanatarem, with estimates of casualties now in the thousands on both sides. While information is sketchy at best, what we do know is that rebel forces from Werin have lost significant ground from last week, and reports are comming in from the Chimehran Consulate that the nearby industrial park has been retaken. In a related story, the Chimehran military has begun what appears to be a full-scale mobilization, but as of yet there have been no reports, official or otherwise, of any conflict along our borders. With nearly all of the self-declared socialist republic of South Drinent in Drinetian hands, we continue to wait. In our recent opinion poll, taken yesterday afternoon, 39% responded that they were in favor of a military intervention, while another 33% opposed, The remainder were undecided. However, when asked the same question, with the condition that Drinentian forces crossed into Manchuria, the approval rating jumped to an astonishing 93%.", blabbed Chuck Peterson, co-anchor.
"As you may have noticed over the last two days, the strange lights in the sky have continued to get ever larger. We have recieved confirmation that they are not meteors, and that their present speed and trajectory does not indicate Earth impact. However, UFO enthusiats continue to gather assert that it is an intelligent species in some form of "Space Ship"." John, the other anchor, couldn't help but chuckle a little. "While there has been no evidence to support this theory, the, umm... entities do appear to be spreading out, and according to our comrades at Taipei observatory, they are reducing speed. Some suggest it is because of the moon's gravitational pull, but that remains to be seen.... wait....I'm getting something new here... it appears that they have..." A sudden look of disbelief came upon his face. He whispered, "say that again..". "Comrades, I'm getting word now that they have..stopped. Stay tuned to CCTV-6 for the latest information as it is recieved..."

Exactly 39 minutes later, aboard K'ysshkilan Battle Cruiser, in orbit over San Salvicon, Chimehra.

"Status Report on the bombardment Commander!" barked Fleet Admiral Halshir
"Sir, I don't understand it, their upeer atmosphere is reacting with our plasma weaponry and making it dissapate. As far as I can tell, the bombardment has had no effect. I'm not even sure if it can be seen from ground level, much less if it is actually hitting anything"
"Damn!!! Why did we not know about this?!?!"
Silence.
"Very well, if our ships' weaponry is useless against these Ch'keetra, then we will have to accelerate our plans. Send word throughout the fleet to cease the bombardment and ready troops for the ground invasion. Ready the atmospheric bombers, we'll need to probe their air defenses as soon as possible..."

K'ysshkilan Battle Cruiser, in orbit above Chimehra

"Admiral! All bomber wings report launch ready status and are awaiting your launch command." said Commander Klitn'uk.
"Have priority targets been marked yet?" responded Admiral Halshir.
"Yes sir", the large holographic map of Chimehra suddenly dotted with the locations of major cities and military installations, "Judging by the amount comm traffic from this area, we believe it to be their center of operations."
"Order 4 full squadrons to the area in the first wave, if we cut off their head, the body will be easy to kill." Ordered Halshir.
"Errg...Admiral, high altitude recon flights seem to indicate that it is an exceptionally hardened structure, and thermal scans show quite a few underground bunkers. It would take a full scale orbital bombardment to penetrate the structure, but our ship's weaponry is useless thanks to the atmosphere of the planet.." Explained Klitn'uk
"Damn it all! Why was this not reported earlier?!...very well, if we cannot bomb it we will have to use alternative means. Just before the bombing commenses, send in a detachment of Nogrhi Commandos to seize the building. We will eliminate their leadership and destroy their command and control capabilities in one swoop. Give the order, Commander."
"As you command, Admiral."
A Comm officer ont he other side of the bridge yelled out "Admiral Halshir! Admirals Vong and Norzt report their fleets have completed final preparations for the attacks on the other nations. They await your order to begin the assault."
Halshir looked out the view plate on the bridge at the planet below him. It looked so peaceful, exactly the way the other worlds he had subdued had. And when he was done with them, they were worlds aflame. "Send word to the fleet, the attack is to begin in 2 hours."

2 hours and 10 minutes later, Enclave, Byss, Chimehra

The assault landers had entered the planet's atmosphere. As they neared the surface, Priavte Nazgl got a glimpse of the target. It was an impressive fortress...for such primitive beings. But nothing stops the Nogrhi, nothing. He checked his blaster rifle one more time. Fully loaded. His sqaud leader called out, "Brace for landing!!" The airlocked opened up, and his fellow warriors ran out. Rockets from the gunships impacted on the building, but to little avail. The guards in the courtyard around the building were taken by surprise, Nazgl raised his blaster and fired at one, killing him instantly. As he ran towards the massive blast door at the front of the building he sliced another with the blade on his glove across the face. A rocket from a gunship impacted on the blast door. When the smoke cleared it was damaged and bent, but not open. Then all hell broke loose.

Meanwhile, inside the Enclave

The alarm sounded. 'Whooooop Whooooop Whoooop'. A voice came over the loudspeaker, "Red Alert! The Enclave is under attack, all units report to defensive positions! This is not a drill!!"
Corpral Brynt couldn't belive it, who could possibly be attacking the Enclave?!? He was already on sentry duty, standing guard outside at the entrance to the War Room, where the Premier happened to be at the time. It was too late to move him to the bunker and too dangerous. A squad of Crimson Guard came runnign around the corner and immidiately began making a makeshift barricade in front of the door from desks from a nearby office. If they made it this far, this was where they would make the last stand...

Outside...
Every window and gun port came alive with machine gun or rocket fire. Intelligence had not reported gun ports ont he side of the building, someone ahd made a big mistake. Though they had caught them off guard, the primitives held the high ground and all the cover, as there was none in the courtyard landing zone where Nazgl had landed. The projectile weapons were mowing his comrades down one by one. A seventh rocket from a gunship finally breached the blast door. As it fell apart, the surviving primitives that had been in the courtyard raced inside, followed close behind by Noghri. When he made his way in, a shot from one of the primitives struck him in the shoulder. It had ricocheted off the wall and didnt penetrate his armor. The Nogrhi next to him was not so lucky. In a fury Nazgl rushed forth into the hail of bullets...

35 minutes later...
Brynt could hear the gunfire from down the hall. They were comming. Several men ran around the corner towards him and took up position behind the barricades, the last being shot in the back by a burst of green light as he turned the corner. When the first of the Noghri came around he opened up fire, he could not tell if it were his bullets or those of his comrades that dropped the first two, but the third he was sure was his. A streak of green flashed by his head and he ducked. When he popped back up, he saw that all but 3 of them were on the floor. The remaining three were running full speed at the defenders. As they got closer one dropped, and another, but the third and last one leapt froward, throught he bullets, and got behind the barricade. With a broad slash he hit one man in the arm and another in the neck with his gloveblade and blasted another with his weapon in the stomach. For a moment their eyes met with one another, and the look on the Nogrhi's face suddenly changed as he realized his armor had just been pierced by the bullets of the 27 Elite Crimson Guard still alive in the barricade. He dropped to the floor, his eyes still gazing open and he drew his last breath. Just then more Crimson Guard rushed around the corner, having missed the fight.

As Nazgl lay there dying he heard on his comlink, "This is, chhhhzzzzz(static) to chzzzz survivng Nogrhi assault teams. Objective is no longer deemed accomplishable. Transports and Gunship escorts are disabled or destroyed, surrender is not an option. Take as many of them with you as you can, your sacrifice will be remembered always!" Then a bang and a flash, Nazgl's head reared back from the impact of the bullet. Corpral Brynt lowered his weapon. The Enclaves defenses had held, but just barely. Would the rest of Chimehra, or for that matter the rest of all Belka, be as fortunate? Time will tell....

Midnight September 28th,1931
Downtown San Salvicon, Chimehra

Yuri stepped off the bus and walked down the sidealk toward his apartment. He had spent the last 8 hours working the late shift at the factory and was dead tired. As he walked down the dark street, he noticed heard a crash behind him. He truned and looked up. Just as he did the top floors of the building beside him exploded, with the huge windows shattering, sending shards of glass and chunks of the wall falling down on him. Yuri ducked and covered his head, and glass fell onto his body and pice of the wall smashed the car parked beside him. No longer sleepy, he ran as fast as he could down the street. A few seconds later, down the street he saw flashes of green comming from low in the sky and impacting in the street, exploding when they did. After each shot, the light from them illuminated the fighter firing them. Yuri was running full speed and nearly tripped and fell while trying to stop. he turned back around and ran the other way trying to escape. As he ran he felt a burst of heat and was thrown into the wall of the building next to him. A car had exploded beside him. He tried to get up, but couldn't...

Pilot Juiiet pulled up when he reached the end of the street, and flew round to make another pass. Approaching from the opposite side, he once more laid waste to the primitive Ch'keetra below. They had no idea what was happening to them. When he pulled up once more at the end pf the pass, he could see fires burning throughout the city. He could also see the blaster flashes from his fellow pilot's fighters and the explosions from the bomb's the bombers were dropping. He noticed a group of primitives running on a street to his right. He swooped down low once again and began firing. He could see them as they burned alive from the impact of his weapons...

Private Tetivinsky ran toward his post. It was dark, but he found it just the same. He took the seat on the AA gun and began firing, at nothing particular, as he couldn't see. The searchlights flashed on, but they were nearly useless and the fighters were moving so fast they were very difficult to keep track of. Within the next few minutes the rest of the city's guns started firing as well, with tracer rounds from the machine guns and flak from the heavy guns filling the sky. In a couple of spots in the sky he could see explosions and flaming wrecks falling toward the ground. They were lucky shots, the sheer number of fighters and bombers in the sky meant some of them were bound to get hit. As the ack-ack of his gun thumped away, explosions all around, blast from one of the fighters hit about 7 feet away. A near miss. He was lucky. After about 30 minutes more of firing away, the explosions stopped. He stepped down from his seat on the gun and looked at the city before him. It was a city aflame. In the distance he could see the naval yards, and the twisted hulks of ships slowly sinking.

45 minutes later, aborad K'ysshkilan Battle Cruiser
Admiral halshir stood looking out the bridge as the returning fighters made their way back to their ships. "Status report captain!"
"Incomming wings report targets were sufficiently damaged, and all major objectives were accomplished, sir" responded Commander Grerhn.
"And our losses?"
"Resistance was heavier than expected, especially in these areas." The holographic map suddenly dotted with the locations of several Chimehran cities and installations. "There were many projectile anti-air weapons in these areas, and by sheer probability we were bound to lose some of our fighters there. However, losses were all in the single digit percentiles."
"That is acceptable." said Halshir. "Still no word from the Nogrhi assault force?"
"No Admiral, all attempts to contact them have failed. In his last transmission, the officer in charge reported resistance was stronger than expected and heavy losses, and advised that he did not think he had enough troops remaining to accomplish his objective. About 15 minutes later we lost contact with him, and the last of the transports and gunships fell off our tracking radar. Comm traffic is still comming from the structure, and we belive the mission was a failure..."
"How could the barbarians stop a Nogrhi strike force?!?! This is unacceptable!!! Get me the officer in charge of planning the raid, I will deal with him personally...." said the Admiral. After a moment to calm down he said to himself "No matter....even if they still have command and control capabilities, they still have no chance against my fleet...." "What of Admirals Vong and Norzt? What is the status of their assaults on the other nations??"
A communications officer on the other side of the bridge yelled out, "Admiral sir, High Admiral Vong wishes to know the status of our attack."
"I will tell him myself, patch him through to my private chambers." With that he turned around shaply, his cape spinning, and he walked off the bridge...
