With hostilities growing around the world, the Aequatian Republic feels that nations that do not possess the military power to defend themselves against the larger, warmongering empires that exist and seek to dogpile upon the smaller nations of the world and we wish to protect national sovereignty of each nation.

Hence the concept of the Protectorate Union is born, the Aequatian Republic Armed Forces will be deployed in a forward position for the defence of a nation and in time, train a core army for the nation, so that when the time comes for the Aequatian Military to withdraw from the nation, they are not left in a comprimising position.

The Federal Republic will not only deploy our own forces, but also equip the indigenous armed forces with small arms, vehicles, warships and aircraft of all types in addition to training them.

Surely this is just an excuse for Aequatio herself to place military forces in a sovreign country, mould them to her will through the training they give to that countries military forces, which I would assume would require highly expensive Aequatian goods to carry out such training, and Aequation military products to arm those armies?

Looks to me like thinly veiled imperialism. Who determines when the time is right for you to leave? The country you occupy, or your commanders, who could factor their training to ensure plenty of time to indoctrinate citizens into the Aequatian 'Empire'?

The warmongers must be curbed, and taught a lesson not to subjugate the defenseless. In response to comments made by the nation of McLeod03,

For too long we have watched nations the likes of Automagfreek roll over nations with no proper force to stand in the way of these evils. And despite the fact that Automagfreek has been the Republic's longest-standing ally since our founding, we are fully prepared to moblize in the defence of Call to power against such Imperialists.

While the Union is new, through time we shall set out regulations for those providing assistance to follow, which includes equipment provided, training and the duration of the deployment of Aequatian Armed Forces. The intentions of the Aequatian Republic is simply to protect smaller nations from the larger, evil powers of the world and in no way sinister.

As well, our nation's defence contractors will work with the protectorate nations in the development of both cost- and combat-effective weaponry and vehicles should those already developed not be economically viable for said nations.

We promise to the nation of McLeod03 and those of the world, it is now time for the Aequatian Republic to stand on the proper side of the fence.

Whilst I would once have agreed with your 'valiant' and 'selfless' stand, events of late have convinced me that this world is fickle. Those who take a stand like your own are punished for it. Give up now, do not waste your funding on nations who will not appreciate it. They will turn on you when they are strong enough, and use the threat of your name to scare other nations into submission.

What will you do then? When you realise you yourself are harbouring junior versions of the very nations you are trying to stop? Take control of them? Change the government to suit your style? Then that makes you little better than them. Pulling out would do no good, you would have already trained and equipped them to carry out their plans for Empire.

I find that nations that say that the people we help today will turn on us is quite redicoulous. If you help someone they are naturally your friend. I highly doubt that nations would turn against us without a good reason. Can you prove that any of the nations will turn against us?

I think we should help based on level. Meaning that we would have 4 categories:

Diplomatic Aid-1st Level of Aid. Provide diplomatic alliance with smaller nations and try to solve problem through diplomacy.

Finiancial Aid-2nd Level of Aid. If diplomacy fails, send in money and other monetary aid to the nation. Also we will send natural resources and vital supplies (food, water) to nation.

Token Force and Supply Aid-3rd Level of Aid. If Finiancial Aid doesn't work, we will send military equipment and advisors to train forces.

Full-Fledged Military Aid-4th Level of Aid. If all else fails, send in coalition of forces to repel enemy invaders. Provide all types of aid (finiancial, equipment, and military).

Each nation asking for help will be put into this cycle. Starting with Diplomatic and then progressing the aid if it starts failing.

what type of aid will you send to help our tiny nation?

Space Union: It doesn't quite seem active enough, the garrison of semi-permenant armed forces I believe is needed for a quick mobilization should the nation come under attack (I'm thinking NATO forces deployed in Europe-type idea during the Cold War, like US Army bases in West Germany.) or more running at Level 3 all the time. But we will also try to solve issues by diplomatic means, and if need be, act as Peacekeepers.

Call to power: As of this moment I am trying to get a hold of Automagfreek in an attempt to solve part of the situation through diplomatic channels.

So on Level 2, we mobilize armed forces at the regional base. Level 3 we will act as Peacekeepers. How does that sound?

It may not be necessary to evacuate an entire base for protector forces as they can be spread out around the nation for quick deployment.

Our army is quite capable to defend against any initial threat, except maybe a nuclear atack. Couple of divisions spread across all the teritory wouldnt do much good. We believe that a single military base is the best choice, considering the things said above.

The cause of the Union sounds easy on paper, but in real life it would be much harder to implement, take the Call to Power situations for example, CTP is currently holding Risban businesses and citizens hostage inside CTP's borders,we suggest you set certain criteria(only a small amount, such as past actions, etc.) for to who can join this alliance, or ask for aid, you can't just give it out to any nation that calls for it, they might turn NOT on you, but on your other allies, other than those problems The Silver Sky would be honored to join these great (and potenially great) nations in a Protectorate

The Holy Empire of Tannenmille wishes to allow for 5,000 troops to be considered as a special brigade of the Tannenmillian Army: The 1st Tannenmillian Protectorate Brigade. This division will contain 100 M3 Bradley Tanks, 25 Challenger 2 MBTs, 500 Self-Propelled Crusader Artillery batteries, and 4,000 bare troops. If these are to be hosued in another nation of the Protectorate Union, then they will have to make arrangements for the 5,000 men. They will not be taking with them tents or any other form of a mobile base unless war is declared.

We are offened by your nation's stupidity, we don't disregard others, we disregard evil warmongering nations such as yourself, you have no business in our nations, I would never allow any warmongering Call to Power citizens in my numble country.

I do not feel that military action is necessary against Call to power unless of course Union forces or citizens have been harmed by Call to power forces.

As well, as of this moment, the Aequatian Republic is declaring an embargo against the nation of Call to power which will be enforced by a naval blockade until the country ceases its actions of aggression.
