Universal Century 07 May 0083 - tensions between the Libertarian Confederation of Super-power (LCS) and The Republic of Superpower07 and United Nations have risen to a boiling point.

In UC-0079, the LCS seceeded from Super-power on the grounds that the central government was becoming too strong for its own good. The UN was angered because this new nation refused to join it, even though it knew the LCS would never follow its corrupt policies.

Thus Operation Stardust was born - a sinister plan between a rogue wing of Superpower07's military, the 17th Fleet (AKA Delaz), and the UN to hijack one of Super-power's own space colonies and send it crashing down into Super-power.

In a message from the Fleet to the UN, commander Anavel Gato confirmed his plan:
It's all coming together now - the Delaz Fleet will send its GM Quel (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/0083/rgm-79q.jpg)s into the Bernal Sphere (http://lifesci3.arc.nasa.gov/SpaceSettlement/70sArt/AC76-0965q.jpeg)-type space colony Mendel and take it out of orbit from its Lagarange Point. We'll use the civillians held hostage inside so that Super-power cannot retaliate

Having intercepted this message, Super-power's government went into action.
"We must quickly scramble our orbital fleet and its MBF-M1a (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/seed-msv/mbf-m1a.jpg) Astray force! Get the Victory Gundam (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/v/lm312v04.jpg) special forces ready as well," ordered the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
"Yes, we must," agreed the President. "However, I don't believe it is wise to engage the enemy alone. Since the UN is involved here, what non-UN nations can we ask for assistance from?"
"The Earth Alliance Federation of Pschycotic Pschycos might help us out," the Secretary of State proposed. "Contact them at once."

This is the Libertarian Confederation of Super-power, requesting assistance of Pschycotic Pschycos in stopping a colony drop

PPS Archangel, 0530 Hours, 08 May, AC 240...

The plea for help was intercepted by the communications officer on the bridge of the assault carrier. The news of a colony drop sparked quick concern into the officer. It has already happened to them, and there was now a large crater where a third of their capitol city had once been. He called for the captain. Captaing Jeremiah came across the bridge urgently. "Let me see that...shit, that's not good. What've we got on board?"
Another officer spoke up. "Sir, we are carring Blitz and Buster of the 1st Prototypes, and five suits of the Specials, modified M1 A1 Astrays."
The captain had a quick decision to make. The waste of a few minutes could make a huge difference. Finally, he made up his mind, "Move the ship to within 75 miles of the colony. Have Blitz prepare the Mirage Colloid system. If the colony's taken, it could penetrate. Also, have a shuttle on standby if the opportunity to evacuate civilians becomes availible."
"Sir, yes Sir!"
"Also, notify the 8th Fleet. Have them use the Earth as cover. If a large fleet arrives, we won't stand a chance. Shogun Himura will also want to know. After we move into position, I imagine he'll want us to wait there for further orders."
"Sir!"
"If only Zero were here. It'd make this job easy."

The ship began gliding across space.

In the Agamemnon-class carrier flagship of Super-power's orbital fleet, the Admiral was in overdrive

"I knew of Pschycotic Pschycos's mobile suit force, but they have Gundam prototypes as well? Buster? The Blitz?"
"Admiral, our Gundams are different from theirs - our Gundams are named after the Gundarium composite alloy armor they wear; PP's comes from the special OS their machines use," replied commander Thomas.
"A special OS, eh? I'd be intrigued if it wasn't for this crisis - anyways, tell the Blitz to enter the colony using its stealth tech, whatever-it's called again? We'll send in our M1A's; their sniper rifles should do the job"
"What about the civillians?"
Tell them they won't need to evacuate the colony; some civillians managed to escape in the shelter lifepods. But tell them to NOT, repeat DO NOT send in the Buster. Judging by its schematics it carries enough firepower to seriously damage the colony"

"Super-power will engage the Delaz Fleet as to buy us some time."

PPS Archangel...

Captain Jeremiah read over the incoming transmission. "Whoa, we are behind. I guess it's already BEEN captured. All right, let's go then." He walked down to the flight prep. room, all non-vital systems had been shut down, and briefed the Blitz's pilot. He had been the original test pilot for the FREEDOM, though it had switched hands now to the Shogun himself. The Blitz would fly to the colony, eliminating surface threats, and would then enter the colony itself, taking out any surprises and garissons inside.

Exactly ten minutes and 30 seconds later, the left catapult door opened, and Blitz was launched. Just off the catapult, the Mirrage Colloid system was activated. The suit was instantly rendered invisible to all sensors, including the eye. It took nearly 30 minutes to reach the colony. Still invisible, it began letting loose on all suits and gun turrets it found, causing utter mayhem...

As the Blitz began its approach to Mendel, Super-power's M1a forces went into position. Using the Fleet's attack as a distraction, 25 M1a's snuck into strategic points around the colony.

Super-power's and the Delaz Fleets went into combat. Both sides were sustaining casualties, but the first major blow was struck against Delaz, losing one heavy carrier ship.
"Fire machine guns! Target the machine cannons on their capital ships! Launch all remaining Astrays and hold their positions"

Commander Anaval Gato was unphased by his loss. "It's of no consequence - remember, time is on our side; they still must secure the colony and fire its thrusters before it descends to earth. Launch GM units 20-25!"

Staring out into the battle, he thought "And in the event they do succeed we have a card up our sleve...." as GM and Astrays clashed with machine guns, head-mounted vulcans, beam rifles, and beam saber duels.

Soon, the Blitz started attacking on Delaz's mobile suits, the M1a pilots received a message telling them to begin their attack:
The blitz has begun - repeat, blitz has begun
Super-power's M1a force began to snipe off the GM Quels.
"Take this, UN scum!" shouted Captain Barry Ho. The Astrays having managed to sniped off 8 units total, emergedd from hiding to engage in close combat with the GMs.

Back on the Agamemnon class's bridge, the Admiral grew worried. He began having thoughts of contingency plans. Unknown to nobody else, he thought, "We'll beat the Delaz fleet back to Superpower07 .... but what on the off chance cannot stop the colony in time? What should we do? Deploy tactical weapons to force it off course? No, I will not let that happen!"

Captain Jeremiah oversaw the battle from the bridge on the ARCHANGEL. "Commie! Tell the 8th Orbital to move into battle!"
"Aye, Sir!" the communications officer replied. the message went out, and soon the 40 ships of the 8th Orbital Fleet were moving around the Earth, firing there main cannons once in range.
"Good, order the Specials onto the catapults! Order them to enter the colony and take out any threats found. Only beam sabers once inside. Have Buster remain on standby on catapult 2." The captain's orders were carried out instantly...

Mendel Colony....

The Blitz was doing all right in its battle. It had deactivated its stealth features to allow for the Phase Shift Armor to reactivate. Finally, it had somehow gotten cornered. He took out a suit in front of him, but one behind him lanced out with a saber. At the last possible moment, it was struck by a laser, and exploded. Turning round, the pilot saw the five Specials' suits approaching. They struck down the remaining suits, and entered the colony with an air of professionalism.

Once inside, the allowed the Blitz to preceed them again using stealth. There, more havoc broke loose as mobile suits broke apart and detonated seemingly for no reason. When the mayhem was high enough, the Specials came charging out of the access ways, slashing at anything that moved.

The battle inside colony Mendel raged on. After a number of M1As were destroyed, the combined forces managed to repulse the Delaz Fleet's GM Quels. A special ops team went in to stabilize the colony's orbit, proving successful in doing so.

Colony Mendel soon began returining to its proper location at the Lagarange point.

"Phew - that was close," sighed commander Stevens, member of the elite Super-power Marine Infiltration Tactics and Eradication (SMITE) force. "Another few hours and we'd have had some major problems."

The Admiral of the Orbital Fleet received this good news with relief. "Good work - I'd shudder to think if that colony went past the point of no return." He then thought to himself, But it would sure serve that goddamn UN if we didn't stop that colony, but redirected it to the UN building. But then we'd just stoop to their corrupt level, something I'd never do to the likes of them!

On the Delaz Fleet's flagship, Anavel Gato smiled. "They've stopped the falling colony - at first I thought we failed, but no matter. I now have the opportunity to deploy that secret weapon of ours. I'm going to the hangar!" he announced.

Gato climbed into his cockpit.
"Launch the GP02!"

And with that, the RX78-GP02 (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/0083/rx-78gp02a.jpg) Gundam 'Physalis,' armed with a nuclear warhead and a its bazooka, launched into space.

Captain Jeremiah stood on Archangel's bridge, impressed with both allied forces' fighting. As he watched, he saw the GP02 launch.
"What in the world? Radar, keep an eye on that one and give me the specs."
"Sir, it appears to be armed with a nuclear bazooka." the radar officer replied.
"Interesting. Keep an eye on it."
"Aye, aye, Sir."

At Super-power Central Command, the Joint Chiefs of Staff were going baliistic.

"Delaz Fleet has deployed WHAT?!"
"That's right, they've deployed a Gundam - YES, A GUNDAM - armed with a tactical nuclear warhead!"
"Good Lord! We have no choice. Deploy the Gundam MK II (http://digilander.libero.it/gtavassi/RX-178.jpg) - link it to the G-Defenser (http://www.robot-japan.com/Gundam-Robot/gundam/z/images/fxa-05d.jpg) subflight unit. The 'MK II Enforcer (http://www.doublenuts.com/gundampic/hgunicen/super_gundam/super_gundam_4.jpg)' shall launch from our mass driver (http://vesuvius.jsc.nasa.gov/er/seh/know23D.GIF) with the Victory Gundam taskforce."

What should Pschyotic Pschyos do?
Tell them to make an all-out attack on the Delaz Fleet!

Captain Jeremiah received the message on the ARCHANGEL's bridge. Within minutes, the BUSTER was away and working to head off the new opponent, and the 8th Orbital FLeet was moing out to intercept Delaz. Another new mobile suit on earth was also launching into space.

8th Orbital Fleet...

As the fleet moved to intercept Delaz, the catapults on the 40 big ships openned, allowing Astray mobile suits to launch at their opponents. Once in range, the 345-meter AGAMMEMNON-Class ships began firing their four large Gottfried Cannons at the enemy...

The MK II Enforcer and the Victory Gundams went into position on the mass-driver's launch pad.
"Mass driver is clear for launch.... launch sequence started! Launch in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....MKII! Victory! LAUNCH NOW!"

The mobile suits accelerated along the mass-driver, up into space. Having attained escape veocity, the MKII Enforcer transformed to flight mode for the duration of the travel, followed by the re-enforcement squad of Victory Gundams.

"We have to prevent Gato from firing his nuke!" ordered the MKII's pilot. "And Victory pilots, don't even thinking of using your beam shields to deflect the nuke if it fires; you wouldn't stand a chance. I'll distract them with my long-range beam rifle of the G-Defenser; when Gato is confused enough, come in and barrage the sucker."

At last, the squadron would confront the GP02. The MKII's pilot started to fire his beam rifle as a distraction.

"What the Hell?" thought Gato. "Whatever that was, all I need to do is move into position to fire my bazooka at Super-power's capit-- arrgh!"

Out of nowhere, the Victory Gundams began shelling Anavel Gato with rifle fire, ramming him with beam shields, and use of vulcans.

But the GP02 was far from finished.

The XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Roared out of the atmosphere toward the fray. A little way out, it stopped. Commander Yuy's voice came across the radio waves as the machine lowered its single large buster rifle at the GP02.

All friendly units, pull out now.

The message was simple, and he wasn't going to wait to ensure that they did. Without hesitating, he allowed the crosshairs to center over, and lock on to the GP02. "And now, you must die." With that, he pulled the trigger, and a beam with the equivilent force of two thermonuclear weapons fired at the enemy...

ALL UNITS FALL BACK IMMEDIATELY, ordered the fleet Admiral.

Every Astray, Victory, and Gundam the MKII hurried back to their carriers, fleeing the impending wide-range blast. But such a blast could not go unnoticed.

As it was approaching the GP02, Anavel Gato made one final gamble. "Take this!" he yelled, firing his atomic warhead straight back at the blast.

But it was no use. The blast incinerated his warhead, and Gato watched in horror as he, his Gundam GP02, and part of the Delaz Fleet were engulfed by Wing Gundam's blast and incinerated also.

Everybody gave a sigh of relief as the government declared Operation Stardust's threat neutralized. Yet an equally daunting task remained.

Super-power officials intercepted transmissions going between Superpower07, the Delaz Fleet and the United Nations. This was all the proof they needed to incriminate the UN and Superpower07 for hatching this conspiracy.

Now the question is: what should Super-power and Pschycotic Pschycos do now, to make the UN and Superpower07 take accountability?

Looking over the battle outcome and circumstances, Shogun Kenshin decided on what he felt should be done, "Tell them that attacking the UN will be futile, they've too many supporting nations. However, Superpower07 should be held to full accountability, and we should therefore launch an attack to remove those in power."

The message was sent out.

President Alexander received the message with concern.
"I share the desire to hold those accountable; and yes, we don't know how much a threat Superpower07 poses to us. Certainly they have violated our foregin policy of isolationism by blatantly interfering with our space colonies. I shall ask the upper and lower houses of the Senate for a declaration of war against Superpower07"

Senate Capitol, 1800hrs.....
Both houses unanimously authorized the use of military force in a war against Superpower07. And as to speed the war and drain less of Super-power's resources, the Senate approved the use of siphoning off any and all financial accounts held by Superpower07's government in Super-power to fight the war.

Honimishu Castle, Pschycotic Pschycos, 1900 Hours....

Shogun Kenshin received the word that Super-power was indeed going to war. "Good, looks like we can help here too. Send out notification to Superpower07. Tell them that we too are declaring war."
His aide confirmed, "Sir, yes Sir!"

At exactly 0000 Hours, the ships of the famed 8th Surface Fleet were steaming over open ocean. Out in front, subs of the 9th and 10th Fleets formed a defensive screen. Behnd the giant surface fleet, nearly 40 ships of battleship, batttlecarrier, and carrier classes (with a few cruisers), were transports. In their holds were GINN ground combat mobile suits, and a new, deadly form called GuAIZ. These even had a top secret anti-personnel weapon, just in case it wasn't all MS combat.

The spray from the ships' bows sounded peaceful.

Super-power's 08th Naval Fleet set sail from Kaguya, armed with a new weapon: the Murasame, a transformable variant of the country's Astray mobile suits.

Reaching the rendezvous point, Naval Admiral Bright Noa ordered the attack to commence. Taking to the sky, the Murasame dealt a surprise blow to Superpower07's defenses from the sky, firing missiles and beam guns to cripple garrisons and soften the enemy's GM forces.

A few advance models transformed out of Mobile Armor/fighter jet mode to conduct recon....

As the fleet assembled off the coast, the order went out:

Begin shore bombardment

The heavy Zimmermann-Class battleships opened broadside at the shore defenses, 18 18" cannons from nearly 10 ships. The battlecarriers, Arkhangel-Classes, could only fire their forward nine. Issuing from their (4 ships) double-decks were ARIES air mobile suits. These would launch over the bombardment, and strike from above, and slightly behind.

Behind the battle line, the transports prepared to move in.

Having conducted recon, the pilots determined that the path of least resistance would be to fly below radar. The problem was that they would be all the more vulnerable to the remaining anti-air turrets, so some fancy maneuvering by Murasame pilots would be necessary.

Although the forces sustained losses, they managed to penetrate into a vital military base of Superpower07. After heavy bombardment, the Murasame's transformed back into mobile suit form and engaged the GM forces.

The transposrts moved up, and using a high-speed dash engine, revved all the way up on to the shore. The doors of the transports that formed the bow burst open, and GINN mobile suits burst on to the beach, firing at anything moving. Behind them, the elite GuAIZ suits marched out slower, and with an arrogant stride, if that could be said of giant robots.
