Gaian Ascendancy

As a result of the actions during the Deatharon War and the Battle of White Diamond/Sapphire due to the Dominion incursion, fighter compliments to warship supportwas founf to be deficient by 38.5% during the entire duration of heavy fighting. It was realized that fighter support of warships, and reciprocation was also down too much. This resulted in too many enemy fighter break through during combat, in areas where dedicated fighter support screens could have held these breaches back.
The overall result was that the drop in support capability was ascertained to warships and fighters configured a bit too much to their respective missions, where the opposite cover capability was lacking.
However the logic, the end result is a fleet that has a gap that need to be filled in some way. The Gaians have decided to fill this gap with what it can.
The BattleStar Republica project was then unveild to the Republic StarFleet Command in May 3219, by representatives of Nergal as the expectant shipwright producers, compiling with them, four distinct plans to build vessel keels off of. Their viewing guests hope this will help bridge this dangerous gap in fleet defense.
BattleStar Class: Eternia

Fuel: 21,700 Ionic Tonnes
Heat Sinks: 1,800 (7,200 heat units dissipated)
Jump Drives:
3 - Fold JumpDrives
4 - Hyperdrive Modulators (x3 capability)
4 - Sublight StarDrives (.45 sublight capability)
Shield Generators:
5 - High-Ion Yield Dimensional Distortion Field Generators
8 - Standard High-Amplification Gravity Distortion Fields
Crew: 1,173
Cargo Area: 337,260 Tonnes
AeroFighter Capacity: 250 OmniFighters / Omni-LAMs
Bays:
6 - Aero/Shuttle Landing Bays
80 - Aero Launch Chutes
10 - Shuttle Launch Chutes
15 - DropShip Ports
Armament:
40 - ER Large Naval Lasers
80 - ER Medium Naval Lasers
200 - ER Small Naval Lasers
150 - ER Anti-Aerofighter Lasers
20 - ER Naval PPCs
10 - Large Naval Gauss
10 - Medium NAC/30
20 - LRM-20 Launch Arrays
40 - SRM-40 Launch Arrays
With three launch bay sections, two on port and starboard, and a third below, the Eternia Class is the heavy Class in this series. It's projected Aerofighter capability is meant to send clouds of fighters in the battle far better deployment efficency. The vessel is also heavily armed to match the Imperiator SD Class. The vessel's main objective is to act as a pure fighter carrier, with enough firepower to last a major action.

BattleStar Class: Caprica
Tech: CAG-StarFleet Class XX
Mass: 1,026,000 Tonnes
Length: 1,832 meters
Fuel: 20,260 Ionic Tonnes
Heat Sinks: 1,700 (6,800 heat units dissipated)
Jump Drives:
3 - Fold JumpDrives
3 - Hyperdrive Modulators (x3 capability)
4 - Sublight StarDrives (.45 sublight capability)
Shield Generators:
5 - High-Ion Yield Dimensional Distortion Field Generators
7 - Standard High-Amplification Gravity Distortion Fields
Crew: 1,056
Cargo Area: 328,370 Tonnes
AeroFighter Capacity: 200 OmniFighters / Omni-LAMs
Bays:
5 - Aero/Shuttle Landing Bays
75 - Aero Launch Chutes
8 - Shuttle Launch Chutes
10 - DropShip Ports
Armament:
30 - ER Large Naval Lasers
70 - ER Medium Naval Lasers
175 - ER Small Naval Lasers
125 - ER Anti-Aerofighter Lasers
15 - ER Naval PPCs
8 - Large Naval Gauss
8 - Medium NAC/30
15 - LRM-20 Launch Arrays
35 - SRM-40 Launch Arrays
The interestingly named Caprica Class was created as the middle role of the series, meant to deliver large numbers of fighters into an area just as fast as the Eternus Class, but act more as it's design, a fighter fire support model. It also is designed to act as forward screen cover by poping fighters in, and poping back out while heavier elements come in.
Considering this class is barely smaller than the Eternus Class, the jobs seem overkill for a vessel this size. Exactly what the Gaian StarFleet Command wants in a battle, overkill.

BattleStar Class: Corona
Tech: CAG-StarFleet Class XX
Mass: 889,530 Tonnes
Length: 1,519 meters
Fuel: 17,500 Ionic Tonnes
Heat Sinks: 1,250 (5,000 heat units dissipated)
Jump Drives:
2 - Fold JumpDrives
2 - Hyperdrive Modulators (x3 capability)
3 - Sublight StarDrives (.45 sublight capability)
Shield Generators:
3 - High-Ion Yield Dimensional Distortion Field Generators
5 - Standard High-Amplification Gravity Distortion Fields
Crew: 891
Cargo Area: 189,520 Tonnes
AeroFighter Capacity: 125 OmniFighters / Omni-LAMs
Bays:
3 - Aero/Shuttle Landing Bays
45 - Aero Launch Chutes
5 - Shuttle Launch Chutes
6 - DropShip Ports
Armament:
8 - ER Large Naval Lasers
25 - ER Medium Naval Lasers
100 - ER Small Naval Lasers
120 - ER Anti-Aerofighter Lasers
8 - ER Naval PPCs
5 - Large Naval Gauss
6 - Medium NAC/30
10 - LRM-20 Launch Arrays
15 - SRM-40 Launch Arrays
The 'small' cousin of the series, the 'destroyer' class in mindset as well, it's basically a pocket carrier with better armament. Paired with similar class WarShip and High-Mobile weights, this Class is meant to be even more in close support, to be in the thick of it even. Where the Caprica Class is meant to deploy and back off if possible, the Corona Class is heavily armed and armored to face equal weights in combat, and is even expected to act as C4I Master nodes in battle, giving larger vessels more strategic flexibility.
The Corona Class is also meant to be the explorer Class of the series, allowing more fighter cover for explorer fleets.
--
The series is meant to not only meet these expectations, but even if properly deployed, command sections of a battle where they can push a section of a battle section and pacify that area. It's a tall order, but the series is at least capable of meeting the Aero support portions of their respective missions.
As soon as the plans were unveild to Republic StarFleet representatives, orders were places, with one vessel of a specific type, to begin being constructed in several of the Ascendant Yards throughout the Ascendancy Sphere.
The first are expected, if automated yard capacity and capability is met, to deploy the first of each series within three to five years, depending on vessel size. As they are no more problematic to construct as the rest of the current fleet, the ease should make construction that much quicker.
Trials are slated for early 3222.
