The overall pollution in Mexico City is expected to drop 34% over the next 5 years, as cleaner fuel sources are implemented and new waterway filtration techniques are built. Mexico City has long suffered from extensive pollution, both in the air and soil. The total cost of the pollution reducing techniques is expected to total over 3-5 billion dollars. Imperial officials see the cost as a minor discomfort when compared to the overall good.
