The launch control was dead quiet. This was one of the most important launches that the crew from the Imperial Air Force would preform in their active service. This launch actually was a matter of Cottish national security. The target was set, the missile was ready for launch. This would be a live-fire launch, set to detonate with the maximum yeald.
"Are we ready?" the General asked the Captain sitting at the launch control.
"Yes sir. The launch will commence in two minutes. All systems are nominal. Our satellites are well clear of the target zone. The targets are in place and the observers are in position 100 kilometers away."
The General nodded to the Captain who were ready to launch the missile. He and six other high-ranking officers were here to watch the launch of the new "toy". The most powerful missile in the Cottish arsenal were to be launched. The XLGM-200 "Thomas" intercontinental ballistic missile would fly over Carthaginian Russia, the Torian Domain, Pushka, Neuvo Rica, Andrehervian territories in Russia and Korea, Psychotican Japan and the Celtayoshian areas of Kiribatia and Marshall Islands before the ten MIRVs would explode over an atoll in French Polynesia. It was estimated for the missile to take 25 minutes to reach its target.
"Launch codes recieved and verified. Launch in fifteen, fourteen, thirteen..." the Captain counted down a little more then a minute later.
"Three, two, one, launch!"
In a bunker 4 kilometers away, the four engine nossles egnited in a hail of fire.

Within seconds, a single black-painted missile flew from its silo, tiliting eastwards. Inside were 10 MIRVs, each with a yeald of 600 kilotonnes. It was intended as both a test of the missile, and as a show of strenght to the world.
