Crash (C) Hour + 1

General Macbeth stood at the back of the command center as the situation unfolded. About an hour ago, Tratian nationalists brought down a Sikorsky Black Hawk carrying nine of TRATEOTU's most elite foot soldiers. After the smoke cleared minutes later, a surveillance chopper was sent in to survey the damage. The chopper was belly up in the street, blocking one alley of a four-way intersection. Gunfire was already present as 7 of the 9 Death Stalkers appeared to be securing a perimter around the crash site. Until radio contact was made, no more could be known on the situation.

Lt. Dixon crouched behind a statue as he directed the other six of his men that could still walk into cover. The sound of gunfire in the distance meant that a firefight wasn't far off, and they were vulnerable in this position. He spat at the ground and looked at his men who had taken up spots all along the street. Good he thought. He looked back to the chopper. Both pilots were dead. The chopper's cockpit had landed on a statue itself, so the pilots bodies were lost in a sea of marble and blood. Sgt. Talbot, second in command, was lying on the ground near the chopper with tubes in him. Pvt. Malarkey, the medic, had done what he could before he had to go take cover. For now, Talbot was on his own, a large gash in both his legs where he's caught some metal during the fall. Pvt. Buckner, the squad's main machinegunner, lay half-in-half-out of the helicopter. Half-in-half-out meaning his upper half lay inside, bloodied and ripped, while his legs were dangling from an iron fence nearby. He'd slipped out of the chopper at the last second and was torn in half between the falling vehicle and the fence. Nothing could've been done.

The cound of footsteps and tired meant the rebels had reached the square. Time to fight. Dixon clicked his radio and tried to reach HQ... they couldn't win this on their own.

"HQ, this is DS1, we're in deep shit, over..."

General Macbeth heard Lt. Dixon's radio transmission crackle through the room's speaker system.

"...deep shit, over..."

"DS1, this is HQ, you're last transmission was garbled, say again, over."

"We... big trouble... lp!"

Silence.

"Commander Brinks," Macbeth said.

"Yes sir?" Brinks asked, looking back from the computer he was looking at.

"Fire up Big White One. We need tank support ASAP. Get some air support, choppers for now with snipers and miniguns, and get them to the crash site now!"

"Yes sir."

Dixon cursed and through his mic to the ground. No help was coming soon.

"Alright boys, lock and load. Cover the streets infront, we won't worry about what's behind the chopper for now. If the shit hits the fan, fall back to the chopper and set up a defensive wall there. Clear?"

"Yes sir!" the squad barked in unison back to Dixon.

"Good to hear. Ok, here they come..." The rebels turned the corner of the street on the right, a technical screeching to a halt just past them.

"Let 'em have it!" Dixon roared.

Pvt. Hugh let fly a LAW rocket and took out the technical. Almost instantly, the entire squad opened up with their SOPMOD kits while Pvt. Gibson unloaded the M249 SAW he was ordered to carry ammo for. Someone had to do it seeing as Buckner was dead. Dixon's sniper rifle lay slung over his shoulder. He'd save it for later.

The gunfire intensified. Dixon and his men were caught in the line of fire.

It had begun.
