The horsemen charged towards the woods where various trails led deep into the expansive forest protected by the royal guard and the high walls. Newt urged his quick horse foward and onward, he was quickly tailed by a pack of hounds of various size and type. As the forest was reached noblemen and the hounds took various routes. Will urged Newt to follow but he stayed close to Dora' as they headed towards the far right path.

The prince looked over and grinned, then tried to yell over the great noise of the baying hounds "We shall have the first kill."

"Barra's cries tell me he has two or three in sight...he merely awaits the signal to make the kill."

Newt nodded, "It may be a bit more difficult than that."

"I know. The hounds would tear them both up. Did you notice how big he was, though? Almost big enough to be a small eagle. He could easily carry one for a bit."

"The hounds are probably not close enough yet, I don't know though."

Dora' lifts the whistle to her lips and blows a few notes. The humans wouldn't be able to hear it...the dogs would, though.

Barra came down into view and flew in a tight circle.

"They don't seem to be terribly close yet."

"Its your decision since it is your bird," Newt looked behind him where his dogs stayed close as they had yet to find a distinct scent. "They will probably catch on soon."

"I'll hold off, for now...after all...this is supposed to be fun. Why end it sooner than necessary?"

Newt smiled, though with the straps of the helmet it was faint. He nodded in agreement, "Yes, indeed its suppose to be."

OOC: I dunno what to do next...I've never been on a fox hunt before. ^_^

OOC: Well theres a few options...usually they aren't this large but they can be. Either the hounds catch the foxes, and kill them, your falcon captures one, or they get away. In some cases the fox is caught by a rider and is kept alive. I had stated I released foxes, so any of the sort can occur. Also, a first time fox hunter is either bloodied or torn, which means either their cheeks are touched with the blood of the fox, or their white shirt is torn.

OOC: Weird...they have foxes in Kaymiril...they just don't hunt them like that.

IC:
All of a sudden, Barra, high up, twisted on his wings and plummeted, grasping a red beast in his talons. The beast's back was not broken, though the falcon's talons ripped into its flesh, and he carried the beast back to his mistress, who grabbed the struggling creature by the back of the neck.

"Dos zuch kyorl whol ussta madari. Vel'bol zhahus endar?"

The falcon merely took back to the sky.

OOC: Note: Dora's still got her horse moving during this exchange. The fox is in her gloved hand.

OOC: heh, well thats the traditional English way...Thats the only way I know about.

IC:
Newt stood in amazement at how well this bird hunted, then smiled and waved his hounds onwards. He thought no way shall my prized dogs be shown up today. They rocketed off towards the woods in hopes of catching another. Newt followed in quick pursuit to watch his dogs do what they were bred to do.

OOC: I make up traditions as I go.

IC:
Dora' slows her horse, and regards the snarling fox in her hand.

"Vel'bol xun Usstan xun xuil dos ghil?"

She'll be able to find the group easily enough when she decides to rejoin...if not for Barra's keen eyesight, the hounds made enough noise to let the foxes know they were coming ages in advance.

The hounds reached a fox, and cornered it in a hollow log. They sat there barking at it, unable to get in being to large. Newt dismounted, and quickly tied his horse to a tree, reached for a small hatchet on his saddle, and walked towards the log. He cracked open a small hole, large enough for his hand. He reached inwards, and lifted out the small fox, and carried it to his horse. He remounted, and untied himself, then headed back towards Dora'.

When he arrived, he held up the fox and said "Consider this a gift" he handed the young fox to her.

Sarah had her entire life planned out at the age of nine. She was going to work hard, do well in school, and some day take over the throne from Daddy. That was her plan at nine, that was her plan at nineteen, and that was still her plan until her father, the King, walked into her room last Wednesday.

"Sarah, we need to talk." Her father had a look on his face that she had only seen once before when the rebels in the countryside attempted to seize control of the parliament. It was a mixture of fury, fear, and utter confusion. As her eyes met his, she felt the icy hand of fear grip her heart.

It was then her father informed her of the coup that had occured over the last few hours. It seemed that Lord Talmadge, assisted by the rebels, had seized contol of the government. Papa was to remain on as a puppet figure head, forced to publicly endorse Talmadge's plans under penalty of death. He recalled his grandmother's stories about her Romanoff cousins, who fell victim to the bullets of the Bolsheviks. There was little chance of gaining any help from the outside, as Kathleenistan had neither diamonds nor oil to entice the west. His only hope now was to save his daughter...she would have to find a refuge within the confines of a foreign dynasty.

Now Sarah found herself speeding towards an unknown land, off to meet a prince whose father seeked to end his playboy ways and whom she seemingly had little in common with.

The guards were informed late in the afternoon that another guest would arrive shortly. Imperial Guard were dispatched to the airport where they waited for this young woman, and infact Prince Edward joined them. A room was made up by a valet, and everything was set for one more guest.


As her plane decended towards the runway, Sarah began to panic. Various thoughts all jumbled together in her head. "What if I fail to make a good impression?" "Will any of these nations be moved to come to Kathleenistan's aid?" "What must Father be going through?" "Could I marry a man I didn't love?"

From some unknown reserve deep inside her, she summoned up her courage and prepared to do her duty for her family and her nation. This, after all, was what she had been groomed to do. There had always been the possibilty of such an event, despite the dismissal it had gotten in family circles. In her heart she had always known that her nation must take precidence over all else.

As Sarah decended the staircase, her eye caught that of a tall, young man dressed in a dark uniform. As if he sensed her fear, he gave her a quick wink and a smile. Sarah felt a blush creep across her face and quickly decended the platform towards the young man and his companions.

The Prince moved closer and smiled. "Greetings, mi'lady." He said confidently and continued "I am Prince Edward, third son of Emperor Newt. It is my pleasure to greet you to our nation. If you would come this way, we shall be at the palace momentarilly." He extended his arm as a gesture to escort her to the limousine.

IC: Sarah gratefully took the young man's arm. "Thank you, your highness. I look forward to seeing your home. The architecture of the place, from the photos I have seen, is breathtaking. It rather reminds me of Sir Christopher Wren's work in his later years." "Damn!" Sarah thought to herself," There you go again. Don't you remember what Mummy always told you? 'Smile and look pretty. A Prince wants an attractive companion, not a brainy advisor.'" His eyes once again met hers as he helped her into the waiting car. He had such a kind, friendly smile, she felt instantly at ease, despite having just met him. Sarah had always felt somewhat awkward around the opposite sex. It wasn't that she wasn't attractive, quite the opposite in fact, but she never acquired the easy manner that her friends had when it came to chatting with boys at school. Even as she grew older, she still found it difficult in the "dating scene." Most of her social equals were rather ridiculous young men who hadn't a thought beyond the bloodlines of their latest acquisition for their stable. She had gained a reputation early on as being a bit of a snob, but it wasn't the case. She just couldn't resign herself to be a pretty, and brainless, playmate. She had little patience for those who didn't even understand the workings of their own government, let alone the needs and concerns of their people.

OOC: Then switch them around, first time I actually used those pics lol...

IC:
The Prince grinned after sitting down next to her in the limousine. He looked towards her and said "Why yes, your quite right the Summer Palace does somewhat resemble Sir Christopher Wren's designs. Though it was completed prior to his birth. I enjoy the Summer Palace the most, I think you shall too." He grinned again, and looked down briefly as the limousine sped off with its police and Dragoon escort.

When they reached the end of the tarmac he said "So, Princess Sarah, is it? Tell me about your home, if you do not mind."

OOC: Done, done, and done! :P

IC: Panic rose in her throat. How could she reply to such an innocent question in a way which would convey her situation and, at the same time, not make her seem overly pleading?

"[I]Well, I have always thought of my homeland as one of the most beautiful places on earth. In all my travels I have never seen grass so green nor a sky so blue. Naturally, I am biased," she said laughing," but I think you will find that most travellers would agree." She paused, then, sighing as she reflected on the changes that the new regime would surely wrought upon her beloved homeland. "It is my hope that the beauty and peace I have known and cherished since childhood might someday be regained so that my people might once again enjoy their liberty. I want the future generations to know the land as I once knew it, beautiful, wild, and free."

The Prince smiled thinking of such a place. He said "Ahh, yes. Such a utopia would be far greater than eden itself. But you say there has been a recent decline in its beauty, how so? Excuse me, but unlike my father and elder brothers I am not always informed completely."

"Ah," Sarah thought to herself, "He is no different than the others. They lie in idleness whilst the world around them crumbles into pieces. He speaks of Utopia, and yet, one wonders if he would follow in the footsteps of More. Does he even possess principles, let alone ones he would be willing to sacrifice his life for? It is fools like these who make distopias a reality," she reflected."Easy, Sarah, easy," she commanded herself. "You can't afford to rush to snap judgements. Don't forget that your ideals are being put to the test now...it is your turn to sacrifice yourself for something greater, for the future of your family and your nation."

She took a deep breath and began to recount the horrific tale of the recent events her nation was forced to endure.

OOC: I'll just piece together the whole story from above...thats fine.

IC:
Edward listened intently throughout the entire story, and with the conclusion offered his most sincere apologies. He then stated "Considering my posistion, I can not bring the country into a foreign conflict. But I assure you, I will have my father look into all possible actions when we reach the palace. We have a tendancy of intervening in such events, especially for other monarchs." He gave a faint smile, and continued "Or I shall try my very best atleast"

She felt him to be sincere in his wish that he could do something to help, but she knew her nation had little hope of assistance from this empire. It would be up to her to build alliances to try to reclaim her family's throne.

A little voice in the back of her head reminded her of other royals whose nations faced a similar fate. Philip of Greece forced to marry Elizabeth of England as his throne evaporated at the turn of the last century. The surviving Romanoffs marrying minor nobles and dreaming of a life that once was. She knew that she would have to start making plans for her own life, a life that might not include Kathleenistan.

She gave him a weak, tired smile. He was such a kind looking man. His eyes held a sparkle that belied a cheerful and humorous nature.

"Thank you, your highness. It feels good to be able to talk of these events with someone. The past few days I have had very little time to reflect on what has occured. It means a great deal just to encounter a friendly face."

The Prince smiled, and looked down somewhat embarassed. "Thank you very much. It is my pleasure. He looked back up as the limousine turned into the largest gothic style gate.

As the convoy arrived the security escort went to the various garages allocated for security. The Prince looked out the window, and smiled "Here we are, mi'lady, the Summer Palace. The Emperor is currently on a fox hunt with some of the other nobles, and the main attraction of this week.I shall speak to him immediately when he returns."

The limousine pulled into the front of the palace. A Household Guard member quickly opened the door and helped the Princess out. A valet came down the steps quickly, bowed and said "Madame, your room shall be ready in a moment."

A rather matronly like woman then entered the room. "Princess Sarah, allow me to re-introduce myself to you. I am Mistress Betty Clarineta, your father's ambassador to this fine kingdom. The last time I saw you you were a little girl in pigtails with her nose buried in a book,and now here you are, chatting away with our very own Prince Charming"!
Sarah blushed deeply then...she could feel the heat in her face. How dare this...this cow say such things! In front of the Prince, no less! She couldn't bear to meet his eye. For some reason, she was sure if she did, she would find a rather amused look upon his face.

The Prince was a shy young man, and upon hearing this looked down in order to hide his rose red cheeks. Upon looking up he heard the herald trumpets, signaling the return of his father from the hunt. A man, dressed in exquisite equestrian suit dismounted and walked towards his son.

The Prince quickly introduced the Princess to his father, "Father, this is Princess Sarah of Kathleenistan."

The Emperor smiled, and bowed his head and spoke "I'm sure my son welcomed you to our nation, but on behalf of myself and the empire, welcome."

Edward smiled, and looked for the rest of the hunters. When none were present the prince asked "Why did you leave early father." The Emperor looked at his son, and his glare explained why, something was needed to be taken care of, so he returned.

OOC: I'll introduce you before I beg for the military heh.

The Princess felt the emotional and physical turmoil of the past few days creep upon her. "Your Majesty, with your permission, might I retire to my rooms to rest before dinner?"

OCC: It is almost midnight here and I have work in the am :) Can I pause this storyline until tomorrow afternoon?

OOC: But of course, its what we're all doing.

IC:
The Emperor nodded "But of course, my dear". He smiled in a patriarchial style, and both he and his son bowed.

The Prince then turned to his father and explained what had occured in the Princess' nation.

OOC: I always miss the interesting stuff happening, then when I'm back online there's like, three pages of new posts... *Dodges whatever Kay's thrown*

ic: Michael felt that the day had started off quite well, but after about thirty minutes he had wandered so far into the Castle that he was quite hopelessly lost. He Would be hearing voices one moment, only to try and follow them and find himself in a totally empty corridore, it wasn't untill he somehow found himself in the servants quaters that he decided he needed to try new tactics, however, he had no new tactics, and he hadn't seen anyone in the last two hours, so he just kept going.

Ariadne stared out for a moment longer into the sky before finally steppign forward and letting herself fall down from the ledge, twisting in the air to drop hands down onto the flood, springing into a flip and onto her feet. Nice to know that she hadn't lost any of her Agility. It wasn't that playing body-guard for Michael was boring, but sometimes she wished she'd stayed with black ops.

OOC: I'm kinda out of this atm, so I'm going to act as if Barbarossa had to stay behind, as they left without him! And MH, she threw a camera at you. Books in RL, Cameras on NS

The United Three Nations sends their young eligible princess who now lives in Tres Bonne as a potential wife.

Magda arrived, unsure of where to go, she had her files on the country and tried to look as professional as possible, her butler Giles carried her suitcases.

At the Royal Tarmac, Dragoons waited for the newest guest. The ranking officer stepped foward and bowed, "Mi'lady, if you would come with us, we shall be at the palace momentarilly."

~Palace~
A Special Imperial Guard Officer was walking through the servants quarters, just like any normal day. He had just left the office of the Head Butler, and walked down the hall until spotting a young man. He walked foward and said "Sir, are you lost? These are the servants quarters, would you like me to escort you to a more suitable area for a guest?"

At the Royal Tarmac, Dragoons waited for the newest guest. The ranking officer stepped foward and bowed, "Mi'lady, if you would come with us, we shall be at the palace momentarilly."



'I'm not overdressed am i?' she asked, looking down at her beautiful gold sparkly dress, she felt very embarrased.
She followed the man and tried to actual maturely, being the youngest monarch was hard.

The guard smiled "I am unsure. Currently the bulk of the guests are out fox hunting, so when we arrive yes you might be. But for dining it is perfect."

Michael looked up in surprise,
"Oh, uh, I was just making sure they treated you guys ok round here, very impressed with the conditions and all..." He paused, then gave a shakey laugh, "yeah ok, that's a lie, I'm mega lost. It's just because I live in an apartment with a grand total of about seven rooms and this place is....kinda huge..." He had the grace to look extremely sheepish.

The guard smiled "I am unsure. Currently the bulk of the guests are out fox hunting, so when we arrive yes you might be. But for dining it is perfect."

'I have bought spare clothes and all' she said, trying not to sound common.

'I love horses, will I have the opportunity to ride here?' she asked.

'So wheres the prince?' she asked,

The officer smiled "Yes, we treat the servants perfectly fine. You needn't worry, it is an expansive palace. If you would follow me we should be back in a moment." The officer moved at a quick gait, and went down various winding stone hallways, obviously meant for quick access by the guard. At the end of the third the light shown greatly with the sparkle of gold. The guard turned and smiled "Here we are, the main entrance."

The dragoon smiled, "The Prince is currently hunting with his father, the nobility, and a number of the guests. I am sure you can ride whenever you feel like, the Dragoon stable alone has about 300 mounts. Not to mention the Emperor's stables."

OOC: newtdom, can u write who you are talking to, either me or michael, im getting :confused:

OOC: You guys are just responding to fast...lol. The first one was towards Michael, and the second one was towards you.

'great' she said.

she sighed heavily as she walked behind.

'this place is huge, is there anyone else here at the moment that I can talk to, I am kinda bored' she said, standing still.

Michael blinked a little as he stepped into the golden hall, the transition into such a glittering room from the darker servants quaters was quite a leap, but then, he figurred that even coming in from outside would still seem dark in comparison to this room, he turned back to the officer,
"Thank you very much, I appreciate the help..."

The guard shrugged "I am unsure my'lady I was sent to pick you up before they left to hunt. I apologize." He bowed, and turned to check in at the provost.

A young man walked around a corner, he was dressed in a black silk suit, was about 6'1, and had black hair and light brown eyes. Upon seeing the new guest he bowed. He walked up quickly and said "I apologize, the Prince is currently on the hunt, as are most of the other guests. My name is Duke John Mendenhall."

The guard grinned, "It is my pleasure sir, I hope you have fun the rest of the day. If you need anything while you are here come to my office, its near the Emperor's chambers."

Magda saw the man in the black suit and curtsied.

'Hello...I am Magdalin Mai' she said, straightening out the front of her dress, trying so hard not to blush.

The man smiled "It is a pleasure to meet you Magdalin, is there anything you need right now. How was your trip, I hope pleasant?"

'Yes I am, I dont quite know why they picked me, I am not the most beautiful or most clever' she said blushing.

'Do you live here...or what? surely you arent here to see the prince' she said laughing.

Michael gave a short burst of laughter, "Well considering my luck with women I'd probably be better off if I was! But no, me and my bodyguard Ariadne are just here to establish good relations with the Newtdom."

He cocked a head a little to consider her first comment,
"See, This is what I don't get about people, we come in all different shapes and sizes and personalities and we make up the entire popultion of the world, and here you are, afraid that you're not pretty enough or clever enough when you're absolutely beautiful and if you've got a good heart then brains aren't important at all!"
he gave a slight shrug,
"I mean, I'm not particularly handsome and I'm no genius either, but It doesn't bother me."

she smiled.
'Thanks...for the compliment' she said.

'what do you have planned for the day?' she asked, plonking her suitcase down.

'I think you are, but, I dont want to go and display typical sparklemine behvaviour towards men' she said, sighing.

"I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true" Michel muttered, flushing a little, the compliment hadn't even been deliberate, it had just sort of slipped out, "but seriously, I was just sort of wandering the castle."
He paused for a moment, noticing her suitcase,
"Hey, you just arrived right? So I'll take your bag up to your room for you, I mean, so long as I don't get lost again..." Michael offered, giving Magdlin an almost impossibly warm smile before darting around to pick up her suitcase. He paused for a moment when he was holding it,
"wit a minute, what's typical sparklemine behvious towards men? you don't like, attack us or anything?" he asked cautiously.

He glanced at her as she spoke, her countries reputation seemed to bother her,
"I'm sort of new to international affairs, but things like that don't really make me think differrently of people...I guess, I guess holding taboos on stuff like that just seems kind of childish to me."
He paused for a moment, before asking softly, "What's it like there?"

'In Tres Bonne? well its like a beautiful city, not too busy, then on the outskirts, beautiful lodges and mountains sky high and rainforests, its such an amazing place - theres hardly no poverty either, and people that are in financial difficulty move to Serafima where its equally as beautiful, but the quality of life is slightly less' she said.

'I am glad you dont think differently of me, now you know where i come from' she said blushing slightly.

'right' *after pausing* ..lets find this room of mine!' she said clapping her hands together and looking slightly bewildered as she looked up at the many flights of stairs.

Michael listeneed quitetly for a moment, his eyes taking on a faraway stare as though he was actually there, seeing every forest and mountain,

"Sounds like paradise" He said softly, before shaking himself out of it, "right, what's your room number?"

'ummm...568' she said, looking at the key.
'sounds AGES away' she groaned, picking up her dress.
'This dress is too long' she moaned,
'I should shut up' she giggled, pinching his bum.
'sorry...wheres your room?' she asked.

IC: Jacius Barbarossa sat by the lake, his nose in a book, and his shirtsleeves rolled up to reveal tanned, muscular forearms. The hunt had left without him, but he cared not. In all honesty, he felt better like this... but it was strange, for the first time he carried no personal weapon. His pistol was secure in his luggage. Barbarossa had brought no bodyguards... he was easily better than the others combined

He closed the book, and stared back at her,"What is it?"

"Was I complaining?" he said, sitting next to her,"It's a shame we don't have places like this in Snake City"

"Snake City? Well... it's on Snake Eater Prime, the main hub of the nation. The city itself is fairly beautiful, it's in the far north, just south of the Cobrian mountains. From my office atop the Adminstrium, you can see the peak of the Pen Y Fan, highest mountain in the range, which has snow on the peak all year round. Looking out over the city... you see a shell of its former self"

She thought of the mountain top retreat of the nobility in the far west. Where she used to ski as a young girl, when hearing about the snow covered mountains. She smiled fondly on her childhood, a time much easier, less confusing, less pressure and then said "Why is is a shell of its former self? Have there been a great deal of problems?"

The hounds reached a fox, and cornered it in a hollow log. They sat there barking at it, unable to get in, being too large. Newt dismounted, and quickly tied his horse to a tree, reached for a small hatchet on his saddle, and walked towards the log. He cracked open a small hole, large enough for his hand. He reached inwards, and lifted out the small fox, and carried it to his horse. He remounted, and untied himself, then headed back towards Dora'.


Dora' had by this time calmed the fox to the point where it would sit still as she continued to guide the horse towards the sound of the hounds. The old beast master was right....

She brought the horse to a stop as Newt approached.


When he arrived, he held up the fox and said "Consider this a gift" he handed the young fox to her.

She smiled, taking the fox and holding it up a moment to admire it before setting it down next to the first. "Thank you. I am curious, however...what do you do with the ones caught live?"
She removed her glove, and Barra, catching the motion, saw that the hunt was temporarily over, and swooped down at her.

She put out her arm, not even looking at her bird, and he braked before perching, rolling his claws under carefully so as not to hurt her, then climbing up to her shoulder as she lowered her arm.

Newt turned his horse in kind, called for his dogs and started to head back.
"What goes into the training of your hounds?"

Newt grinned looking back at his pack "Ours are 15th generation. Its in their blood. They naturally stalk and hunt, but obiedence training is taught at a young age. Just like any dog really, just more on verbal commands and the sort. They are by no means as sharp as your falcon."

"The whistle I use for my falcon is no different than the commands you use for your dogs. He and his kind merely rely more upon sight than upon scent. Your dogs have known you from their first few days of life, he is no different in this regard...for five of their generations, I have chosen the falcon that seemed best suited to this purpose."

Newt smiled and nodded "Your bird just so happens to have a greater ability than these hounds. But never the less, you are right."

With her right hand, Dora' strokes one of the foxes. There weren't any red foxes in Kaymiril...these would be a novelty...and they were really cute, too. She keeps the reins in her left hand, but only to keep them out of the horse's way. She uses her knees and shifts in weight to guide the horse.

As they came out of the path towards the main green, so did the rest of the hunt. Prince William could be seen leading the other nobles after the last fox, their dogs in the lead. Newt pulled the reins, and turned his head to his right, and said "Your about to see the best horseman in all of Newtdom."

In the distance Will could be seen leading the pack of the nobility. Clearly all of them were in their element, riding was a common past-time especially for the gentry, but Will made it look like he was part of the horse. The green was expansive, and the final fox could be seen being tailed by some of the quickest English Fox Hounds in the country. There had to be atleast a mile between the hunters and their prey when they had left the forest. And there still was, except for Will who had quickly closed the gap. He surpassed his hounds, and reached the fox. He slid down on the flank, holding on only by the bridle, and with his left hand picked up the final fox by the neck, placing it in a saddle bag.

He waved to the hunters, and they turned towards the stables. Newt looked back over at Dora' and smiled.

Dora' nods. "An able horseman indeed. Reminds me of her sister and her luth'yon. Of the two of us, I was the one that advanced more quickly in the martial arts, and she was the more able beast master," she added, by way of explanation.

Newt nodded at the comment, "Ahh, well hes the fighter too. We need to get back, the hunt should be over."

Dora' nods and nudges her horse into a canter.

As they arrived at the stables, Will was waiting smiling with the fox he had just captured. He helped Dora' off her mount, as Newt jumped off his. Attendants were helping the hunters, giving water to the dogs, and taking the captured foxes to cages to await their fate.

An old man, about the age of the Emperor, walked up to the Prince and his brother. He bowed to them, and then said "My'lord, one fox was killed in the woods, plus these three would be the complete hunt. No need to ride out again."

Newt nodded to the man and then smiled at Dora' saying "I guess you will be blooded today. Congrats, its an honor in the fox hunting world."

Dora' allowed Will to help her down from her horse (although she was perfectly capable of it), and nodded at Newt's words.

Newt nodded as the corpse of the fox was brought up. It had been torn apart by the Earl's hounds. Newt took his right hand from its riding glove and placed it on the dead fox's wound. The blood dripped from his hand as he stepped infront of Dora'. He said "This is tradition, you can wipe it off as soon as its done." He nodded, and then touched each cheek with the bloody hand, and wiped his hand clean on the white shirt.

Before wiping the blood off of herself, Dora' touched the still-cooling blood from the animal and made a mark on its forehead.
"A tradition in my land," she explained, taking a cloth from her sleeve and wiping her hand and cheeks.

Newt smiled and nodded. He waved to an attendant, and handed the fox to him. "Take it away." He said in a cool commanding voice, then turned back to Dora'. He was about to speak, but herald trumpets sounded signaling the Emperor. The nobles all took a knee as a sign of respect. Newt turned and bowed to his father, as did Will.

The Emperor returned the bow to his family, and friends. He walked up to his sons and said "I see you have done well." He turned to Dora' and gave a patriarchial smile and said "I assume my son has had you blooded. Congratulations, but from what I had seen before returning you were no amateur."

Straightening up, Dora' nods to the Emperor's first statement. At the second statement, she smiles slightly.

"We do some small amount of recreational hunting among the nobility in Kaymiril, as well, Highness."

One of Dora's eyebrows raised briefly.

Newt and Will sat there speechless, both of them knew there father was a linguist but never thought to such a high quality. They grinned trying to take in the new information about thier father.

The Emperor bowed his head, and turned to leave. Will came up to his left side and walked with him. All three royals were wearing essentially the same garb, just variants on the color of sash. They were escorted by Special Imperial Guard, and when they were out of sight, due to the marble steps leading up to the palace, Newt turned to Dora'.

"Well, I had a great time." He said smiling.

Dora' returned his smile. "As did I."

Newt grinned again, "Well, I should change out of this. As should you," he looked down at a gold wristwatch "We should be having dinner shortly."

Dora' nods and returns to her rooms. She put Barra's jesses on and fed him, then cleaned herself off, changing into a blue dress. After drying and brushing out her hair, then putting it up, she looked at the time. Half an hour.

Going out to the balcony, she looked out over the grounds.

"There are so many little dancing lights out there, no, Barra? Yes, I know...you'd rather be back at home with Kytor. Soon enough, I'll send you back."

Newt went straight to his suite, he did not want to be bothered by ranking officials with questions about his daily doings. He took off his equestrian attire, and put it down the laundry shoot. He showered, cleaned the mud and dirt off his face from riding, and the blood from the fox.

He changed into a white linen suit, he thought Well, they have already seen me in black, and red. Lets see what they think of white. He grinned as he tied the black tie. He placed over the jacket his sash, put on his signet ring, and watch. He opened the door to the hall and sighed. He walked towards the dining room and awaited the other guests.

Zotreth came and wrapped itself around Dora's neck in an intricate necklace/choker.

"Time to go already? Very well."

So saying, she stepped out, into the hall, and began making her way down.

Newt waited at the steps, turned around and saw Dora' approaching. He stopped and waited for her. Smiling he said "I'll escort you to dinner, my'lady."

Dora' smiled back and gave him a slight nod that was both greeting and acceptance/appreciation of his offer.

He smiled, and extended his arm as to escort her down the stairs. He said "You look great tonight."

She smiled.

"Thank you." She thought for a moment for the best English translation, then gave up. "Dosst lor mziln zhah calestio ulu l' sol."

Newt grinned and nodded, not fully comprehending but getting the jist of the comment. They walked down the steps, and through the main hall to the Grand Dining Room in the Eastern Wing. He escorted Dora' to her seat, and pulled the chair back so that she could sit down easily. "Here you are," he said.

She takes her seat. "Thank you."

Newt smiled, as he took his seat next to her. The Emperor arrived, waved his hand as to not stand up, and took his seat at the head of the table. He smiled and looked over at the two "We best wait for the rest, I'm sure you are hungry after the hunt."

"The others should be arriving shortly, so it should not be a trial to wait for them."

Rebecca left the meeting with the other economic advisors. The chimming of the tower bells could be heard, and she rushed to the dining room rather than changing from her business suit. She smiled and bowed politely to the other guests when she arrived, and took her seat next to Barbarossa.

He'd taken to wearing his old military dress uniform to these sorts of things. A Wedgewood blue shirt with black tie, followed up by black trousers, pressed to a razor edge, and a black jacket, with polished silver buttons. On his feet were a pair of highly bulled parade shoes, and his peaked cap sat next to him. He smiled as she arrived, taking the cap from the chair,"Good Evening"

And then she said again "Well, actually just about everyone in here is related to me in some way."

OOC: We shall skip over the monotony that is commonly known as dinner.

IC:
As the dinner concluded, Newt helped Dora' from her chair and informed the guests that yet another night of dancing shall occur. He stated that it would begin immediately, unlike the previous night. He smiled, and offered in a wisper to escort Dora'.

Before they left, the Emperor moved to the front of the moving party and stated "If any diplomat would like to hold an audience with me tonight with regards to a treaty. I will oblige such a wish, though we can always meet at a different point." He grinned thinking That didn't sound to noble, did it?

Dora' smiled at Newt, but declined his offer.

"While I would gladly accept, I was sent here to forge a treaty. While it may be done at any time, I'd rather get it out of the way so that my sister doesn't hound me about it."

Newt smiled and nodded "That is more than fair, I'll have my father meet with you first." Newt waved to his cousin, and Lawrence responded by a nodded of the head. It had been decided that Dora' would meet first.

Dora' smiled, recognising what had happened. "Thank you. I will catch up with you at the dance, or see you tomorrow, depending on how long this takes."

Newt nodded and turned towards the entrance. He walked out with a number of the nobility and guests, mingling with all.

Lawrence had remained, the Emperor had already went to the conference room before hand. He nodded to Dora' and said "My'lady, if you would follow me, the Emperor shall see you immediately."

Dora' nods and falls into step with the Newtonian noble.

When brought before the Emperor, she gave that ever so slight bow, spreading her hands.

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro." Coming up, "Thank you for seeing me."

I really hope I remember this...this is Anna's strong point.

The Emperor bowed his head from his throne. Lawrence took his place to the right, and Arch-Duke Alfred to his left. Lawrence went through the traditional protocol of the acknowledgement of state, and the introduction of an emissary.

Once it was complete the Emperor said "Al'doer ulu ussta country, udos ph' glad ulu inbal dos. My son has seemed to take quite the fancy to you, I hope you do not mind."

Dora' smiled briefly. "Your son appears to be a good man, Emperor, although I have only known him two days."

The Emperor smiled, "Quite, but lets get down to business. From the reports that have been given to me by my nephew we are able to offer any form of treaty you think is befitting. That would entail anything from military pacts, economic pacts, or alliances. We also have an Ambassader lined up to meet with your monarch."

"We are a fairly peaceful nation, so we do not anticipate calling upon that alliance often, but we would be willing to make a military pact with you. We would also welcome an economic pact and an alliance, of course, and your ambassador might wish to meet with my sister. My mother does not wish to meet with any foreign officials from outside of our region, and Anna is to be coronated in just over a month's time."

The Emperor nodded, looked towards Lawrence, who had already began to draft a document. Lawrence set it in front of Dora' on an antique oak writing table, and handed her a pen. The Emperor grinned and said "That should contain all the elements that we are both looking for. I shall inform Lord Rey to meet with your sister rather than your mother as well. Does this treaty need to be seen by your mother first?"

"My mother has entrusted foreign affairs to my sister's jurisdiction, but my sister will need to see it."

She looks over it and nods. "It looks fair from my perspective, but I will follow my mother's example and let my sister handle it."

The Emperor nodded, "That is fine, I shall have Lord Rey deliver it tomorrow."

"That will be good." So saying, she makes a tiny, intricate mark in the upper left hand corner of the document.

The Emperor bowed his head "That is all then, I hope you have fun this evening."

Dora' nods, returns the slight bow, and takes her leave.

When she had left the room, she brings Zortreth off of her neck and tells him to contact Glider and have him inform her sister that the treaty was taken care of and on its way.

The glider attempted to put itself back around her neck, but she forestalled it.

"Do you have any idea how uncomfortable that is? Bracelet or coronet instead."

She walked into the dance room, necklace/choker gone, and a silver bracelet on that hadn't been before.

Newt walked over from a small table where various guests had been speaking to him about domestic affairs. He smiled, and bowed his head towards Dora' "I hope everything worked out okay if my father."

She returns his smile. "For my part, they did. The rest is up to Anna and your ambassador."

Newt nodded "Excellent, care to dance?"

"Of course."

She lets him lead her out onto the dance floor.

Once reaching the center of the floor he turns, and holds her close as he begins the quick foxtrot. He smiled looking into her eyes and asked "So, is there anything else I should find out about you?"

On the other side of the ballroom Prince William and Prince Edward were overlooking the festivities. They had excused themselves from this dance, and were watching their brother. Will leaned over and wispered into Edward's ear "I see Newt has already made his pick." They both laughed briefly before being interupted by an old man.

"There probably is, but you will probably find out much of it over the course of these weeks, anyway. But tell me...what should I know about you?"

He grinned "Fair enough, important stuff" he paused for a moment "Well umm, to tell you the truth I think I've said just about everything." He laughed and then continued "I am a bit dull, I suppose."

"Don't worry. I find, in my country anyway, if an aristocrat has very much to say about themselves, they've too much....what is the human word for it...ego? There is only so much a noble can do, and that list becomes more restrictive as the rank increases."

The Prince nodded "I agree fully,"

"Tell me about your country, then." She smiled. "I've no doubt that you've more to say about that."

He grinned "Oh I do, but what would you like to hear of first? Geography, or history, or well anything?"

"Anything."

"Well, lets see...theres a great deal about my country. We were founded a little under a millenia ago by my ancestors. Newt, Lord of Winchester was the most powerful warlord in the area, and consolidated his power through common feudalism. Our family has ruled ever since. Our Crown Princes are always named Newt, as it is a family tradition. Umm, we have a compulsorary military, and it is incredibly well equiped and trained. I'm sorry, I do not know exactly what you want to hear about."

"Well, tell me what you like best about your country, whether it be a place, a custom, anything."

He smiled, "Thank you, that makes it much easier. There is an ancient castle, not to far from here. Its on the ocean, its where my family vacations to the most. How about this, in the next few days, I'll take all the guests there."

She laughed "Well, they are here." She pointed to various points on the table pointing out her father at the side of his wife to the left of the Emperor. Then to her sister who sat diagonally to the right of them. And finally to your brother who sat at the other end of the table with some of the younger members of the court.
And then she said again "Well, actually just about everyone in here is related to me in some way."

Whilst the others danced, Jacius took Rebecca's hand and led her to the floor. As they twirled and moved with grace, he glanced across the room, and saw Dora' looking very comfortable with the Prince. He couldn't help but laugh softly,"I wonder what Anna will say at the coronation about that one... two Drow marrying humans in two years, a strange trend"

Dora' nods. "That sounds good." She looks over at Barbarossa and utilized the telepathic/empathic ability of her line. I heard that.

He shrugged slightly, as if to say And? It will be interesting to say the least, and you know it

Dora' turns her head away from Barbarossa in a slight guesture of contempt. To the prince, she said, "Is there anything else you'd like me to know? Or anything you would like to know?"

He shook his head and said "Not particularly, yet."

She nods.

OOC: Umm, yeah...this is going down the tubes...anyone else agree? I'd like to continue, but I don't necessarily have to. Since the little interest has essentially made me decide.

OOC: It's really your choice...I'm about to crown Anna, and if you'd like to have this wrapped up by the time that starts, then that would be convenient for me.

OOC: Alright then, I'll wrap it up best I can.

The music stopped, the Prince escused himself and moved to the stage. He told the maestro to not begin as planned, and all the guests turned to watch what the Prince had to say. He looked around, and said "I know it has only been a mere two days, but it has felt like an eternity. I have come to my decision, if you could please come to the stage Dora'."

Well...I wouldn't think this normal, but whatever...

Dora' makes her way forward, and up to the stage.

Newt smiled and looked into her eyes as he said "I know we have only had a short time together, but I have loved every moment of it. I hope you have felt the same way, Dora', but I cannot be sure. But even with that said, I have made my decision, and it is you who I choose to be my princess." He took a knee, and while holding her hand took out a beautifully crafted diamond engagement-band and showed it to her.

"To have come here in the first place was to have accepted already. It will be an honor to be your princess."

Newt gave an even larger smiled, and slid the ring on her finger. He stood up and kissed her.

OOC: Okay, so thats essentially it...We can still go about doing treaties and the sort. But I also plan on having another thread soon. So either continue to post with regards to treaties, and the other characters or just stop worrying.

It was one or two in the morning, and Dora' was just getting back to her temporary chambers.

"Zotreth, contact Anna."

Within moments, the two sisters were looking at each other face to face.

A -- I got your message about the treaty, you needn't have called to tell m-

D -- I have something completely different to tell you.

A -- Oh?

Dora' then recounts the day...starting with Barra's arrival, going over the fox hunt, and ending with the proposal.

A -- But it was only the second day.

D -- That's what I thought...and he didn't really get to know any of the others.

A -- Then he must be very sure of his choice.

D -- Indeed. What word on the coronation preparations?

A -- They'll be done fairly soon. I'd say we'll be ready within a week. Be sure to invite your fiance and his family.

D -- Naturally. Good night, sister.

A -- Good night, sister.

*End Convo*

The dance had ended, Newt returned from escorting Dora' to her room and was met by his brothers. They smiled at him, and after a bit of small talk they went into the throne room. The Emperor was standing in the darkened room, ceremonial candles were lit and the Emperor turned wearing a cloak. He walked to his son and looked him in the eyes "You are sure so quickly?" he said.

Newt was flanked by both his brothers, and looking into his father's steely eyes he said "I am sure, father, she is the one."

The Emperor nodded, "If you are sure, so be it then." He turned and headed towards his bedroom behind the throne room.

The three young men remained, Will spoke first "Are you serious? I mean Newt come on you have yet to give any of the others a chance."

Newt shrugged off the comment "I am more than sure, brother. Do you remember Dani and how long you spent with her before you fell in love?"

Will shook his head "That was different, it was a long time ago. And don't bring that up, I tried my best to protect her."

Newt nodded "This has nothing to do with the failures that insued during your last visit. It had nothing to do with you, my point is you fell in love as fast as I did."

Edward just sat there grinning, he finally said "He is right Will, forget about it. She will make a fine sister-in-law."

The two brothers turned and left Newt in the throne room. Newt slowly walked through the room, like he did as a young boy, admiring the many portraits on the wall of both Kings, Queens, Emperors and Empresses.

OOC: Hey, Newt, is there a chance you could bring Rebecca to the coronation as Barbarossa is going to be there as well as another of my more developed chars
