Commandant Thrace Rhade, of the Galactic Defense Federation, sat on his bunk aboard the fleet flagship, The Beyond. He awaited a report from the Radar Officers, hoping that they had found the Alani fleet. Rhade was royally pissed off, after the note Heinrich had left in the captured escape capsule, and it was obvious that he was not in a good mood. The Radar crew had just detected the Alani fleet, and sent a man up to tell Rhade.
"Sir! Alani fleet has been detected, sir!" announced the visibly nervous, sweating officer. Rhade thanked him with a warm smile, at which the officer began breathing again.
"Thank you, Burns. But why didn't Jacobs come up? He usually brings the messages." asked Rhade. Burns grinned nervously, backing towards the door.
"We drew straws, sir..."
"Ah... Thank you..."
"Not really, sir. I lost." and with that, he slipped out the door and sprinted back to his post, leaving Rhade with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

Heinrich was in the practice deck working on his swordplay, and battlemech suit technique.

Sir. We've been spotted by the Zeon fleet.

Ah. Send Rhade a message telling him I request a personal battle.

OOC: What is the name of your ship? And is Heinrich his first or last name?

IC:

"Sir! Transmission from Alani fleet! It's a personal request from Heinrich. He wants a... duel? Sir, he's challenging you to a duel! What the hell? This guy is old school..." Rhade waited for the Comms officer to stop ranting and told him to send Heinrich a message.

*Begin Transmission*
Heinrich, this is Thrace Rhade, of The Beyond. You want a duel, eh? Mechs? Or hand-to-hand? Get back to me. Rhade, out.
*End Transmission*

The Xenonier's Bane-Warcrusier, Admiral High Priest Kristof Heinrich.

IC:

Sir. Zeon Transmission.

I'll take it in my quarters.

*Begin Transmission*
Heinrich, this is Thrace Rhade, of The Beyond. You want a duel, eh? Mechs? Or hand-to-hand? Get back to me. Rhade, out.
*End Transmission*

Mechs? Blah! Only a coward would even consider a thing such as that.

Heinrich drafted a reply to the Zeon ship.

Transmission
Rhade. Hand-to-hand. Perhaps you are skilled with a blade? Anykind would be honorable. There is a nearby planet. Fuyti. Primitive technology. We could easily meet, battle, and leave, with no one knowing the difference.

Rhade brought up data from the ship's computers about the planet Fuyti. It was quite primitive, still mostly Civil War Era, the most advanced being WWI tech-level at best. The planet had been experiencing strange anomalies, random rifts opening up in the space-time continuum. Nobody had figured out how or why, but the GDF didn't want to interfere with the development of the planet. It would be risky, trying to land without raising too much suspicion, but Rhade found an enormous, unpopulated area in grasslands on the continent known as Kyaran. He radioed Heinrich with the location he had found, explaining why he didn't want to be too near any cities, and after ending the transmission, he gathered his extensive collection of weaponry into his Mobile Suit (The Uber-Nu Gundam from the Kaelestios RP) and launched from The Beyond's mech catapault. He descended through the planet's atmosphere, landing in a cloud of dust as the Gundam touched down. After the Suit's exterior had cooled from reentry, he hopped out and retreived his weapons from the storage pack. He laid down and took a nap until Heinrich showed up.

Kristof took some time after recieving the coords to sharpen his weapons, charge his blasters and make sure the 'surprise' was ready for Rhade. His ship sighted in on Rhades location and streaked down....

Startling the sleeping Rhade awake....

Rhade awoke from the blast of Heinrich's fighter. He stood up, picked up his Bastard Sword (2 handed sword), put on his gauntlets, and popped a fresh magazine into his FNP90 Submachinegun. He got into his mech and made his way over to where the ship had landed.

Heinrich checked his sabre and disintiblaster and stepped out and saluted at Rhade.

Do you speak in mind-speak?

"Or do you speak vocally?

OOC: Vocally, but Rhade is capable of some mental capabilities. That and going mental. Why haven't you e-mailed me yet? Send it to Mach1won@nycap.rr.com . I've got an idea, too. Y'know... those time/space rifts...

Rhade grabbed his XP90 and clipped twelve 50-round magazines to his belt. He pulled out his beam blade, (like a lightsaber, but with an adjustable size, shape, and power) put his sheild gloves on (beam sheild generators) and strapped his trinium clawsheild over his left arm. (Trinium sheild that can be used as a weapon as well.) He grabbed the dropline and lowered himself down to the ground. He threw a salute to Heinrich and made his way over, XP90 at his waist, aimed at Heinrich should he try anything funny. "Kristof Heinrich, I presume? I am Thrace Rha--" Before he could finish his sentence, something caught his eye. Right in between Heinrich and himself was a translucent orb of some kind that seemed to be reflecting their surroundings. Rhade could see through it, and saw that Heinrich looked a bit startled as well. Then, Rhade did something very stupid. He moved closer to the orb, and he could see Heinrich doing the same. Almost simultaneously, they reached out and touched it. The next thing Rhade knew, something blew up next to him and he lost consciousness...

Heinrich awoke.

Bloody, my head He groaned. He sat up and almost fell right over. He appeared to be in some surrounding of a forest or maybe...ah he couldn't tell.

He reached for his weapons and realized that they had vanished.

Xenoniers Bane. Come in. Immediete transport up.

Wait...Wait...

Come in. COME IN!

He looked around suspecting that Rhade had pulled some kinda trick on him.

He focused his mind and began to prepare to search for nearby life forms.

Rhade woke up on a stretcher in a tent. He sat up and looked around. He spotted somebody in a feild medic's uniform and shouted to him. The man came over and pushed him back down on the bed. "Sir, don't try to stand up. You may still have shell shock." said the medic. His uniform looked vaguely familiar to Rhade, but he couldn't place it. There was a corporal's patch on his left shoulder, and a patch with an eagle's head on the other. This, Rhade recognized immediatley. The medic was with the 101st Airborne Division. The original 101st. Rhade was in World War Two.
"Shit! Where are my weapons?! What the frak happened?!" he nearly hollered. The bewildered corporal pointed to a pile in a corner where not only Rhade's, but Heinrich's weapons were.
"Sir, a shell from a German Panzer knocked you out. Whatever that armor you have on saved your life, sir." Rhade looked down at his kevlar vest. Sure enough, there were unnervingly large bits of shrapnel in it.
"Corporal, did you find anyone near me?"
"No, sir. Nobody was supposed to be there"
"Frak. Take me there. NOW!!!" The medic threw a salute and lead Rhade to a Jeep. Rhade got on the .50cal turret, the medic in the driver's seat, and they sped away in a cloud of dust. About a mile and a half down the road, the medic pulled off onto a small path and into a clearing. Before he had even parked the Jeep, Rhade was out and calling for Heinrich. He found Heinrich barely conscious in some bushes. He started to heave a sigh of relief when Heinrich lunged at him, wrapping his hands around Rhade's neck. The medic, who had been watching nearby, clubbed Heinrich in the back of the neck with his Colt .45, knocking Heinrich down. Rhade pinned him and explained the situation. "Heinrich, I think one of those rifts brought us back to World War Two. This guy here is part of the 101st Airborne. We're stuck in Nazi-occupied France. If you want to get out of here, we've gotta work together."

Heinrich paused and smiled.

"Fine. We work together." He held out his hand. "Besides, you seem like a decent fellow. I didn't want to have to kill you. Now. Where are my weapons, or are we not going to use them? Next, I saw a few german soldiers around here. They're in grey right? I didn't study much on Sol...pretty far away from Andromeda. But I should warn you. I'm not the only Heinrich. I have a clone. He's another Admiral who is a decoy for me. Exactly like me, but completely loyal. If he finds I'm missing, he will come to find me."

He nodded at the soldier from the 101st. "Nice hit." He touched the back of his head. Ouch. he thought.

Rhade tossed Heinrich his weapons out of the back of the Jeep, strapped on his own, and hopped up in the back, grabbing the .50cal. He had heinrich get in the passenger seat and the medic driving.
"Corporal, do you know where to find a Captain Jack Foley, out of Easy Company?"
"Yessir, he's right by my tent."
"Take us there. Heinrich, keep alert. You said you saw Nazis around here? Well, we haven't. Which means they're still here. As soon as we can get to Cpt. Foley, this will be a lot easier." The corporal gunned the engine and pulled out onto the main road, heading back to allied ground.

"Fine" Heinrich smiled. He fingered his energy sword and check his blast pistol and disruptor grenades to make sure they hadn't been tampered with.
"Should we not use period weaponry?" He asked Rhade. "It would seem prudent not to reveal more then nessecary."
Zeon Daikun
11-05-2005, 22:03
"Probably," Rhade replied, "but we haven't got any with us, except for my Colt .45. When we find Cpt. Foley, I'll get us Thompsons and M1A1s. Meantime, we'd best use what we have. Just not your grenades. Save those for tanks." The corporal looked up at Rhade and asked,
"Sir? Who are you guys?"
"Just keep driving, corporal. I'll tell you later."

Heinrich just smiled at the soldier and looked out of the vehicle. So this was Earth. It could quite possibly be somewhat beautiful. But the ground was cratered and dented. Oh well.

As they pulled into camp, the chaos of war struck Rhade. Wounded men on stretchers littered all the empty spaces. "Holy Jesus... Look at them all..."
