"In Red Square, the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army has been controlling the large area with massive troop marches all day. Men, women, and children have been encouraged to mount atop the short-range missiles and troop transports in the parade."

"Large battalions of women have also been seen parading with the men. Usually the soldiers and people are seen waving red flags and Soviet flags. Fireworks are scheduled for this evening to show the international community that the USSR fully supports the worldwide proletariat."

"In the Korean SSR, a new set of parades full of peasants from the northern region of Korea has broken out. Men carrying sickles have also been seen walking about the parade routes showing their support for the rural worker."

"In the German SSR, a massive march has been going on since five local time. Children and their parents awoke early in order to march with their comrades and show their full support for the working man and woman. This seems to be an extremely family oriented celebration."

"An interesting form of support has been seen in Muscat, Omanian SSR. Men with AK-47s, pistols, and carbine rifles have been seen marching through the streets shouting, in Arabic, "Workers of the world, unite!" Among other pro-Communist slogans showing support for the proletariat."

"However, not all Muscat parades were unorganized, most were done in cooperation with the Omanian Red Army and the people who quickly merged into a marching red mass."

"Finally, in the Mongolian SSR, support has never been better. Over the passed few weeks, the Mongolian SSR has been a hotbed for political activism both for and against the Soviet annexation. However, today, it is unquestionable: support is universal."

"A show of unbalanced patriotism seems to have grown. In the eastern world as in the western, pro-labour parades seem to have enveloped the people. Whether the are socialist, communist, or neither, the everyday worker has slowly began to have more say over his own life. Which is to be considered a victory."

"This is Ron Burgundy, for XNN News. Today, in Shanghai, forces loyal to the Fujimoto regime turned out to celebrate May Day (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/1999/china.50/inside.china/art.overview/link.1966.cultural.rev.jpg). An estimated 500,000 turned out to demonstrate solidarity with the USSR, and to declare their allegiance to President Fujimoto."
