Tragedy in Albion (open)

Ameracadia
01-05-2005, 05:10
The President appeared on the Ameracadia Emergency Station and began to speak.

Citizens of the Republic, today at 10:00 o'clock Great Lake Nation time an explosion rocked the Senate Building in Albion. The blast killed 80 senators and injured many more. I was supposed to be giving a speech this morning at the Senate, and only bad weather over Risban prevented me from also being killed in the attack. Our economy has suffered greatly from this attack, we must work with purpose to recover it quickly. We do not know who has done this, or why they want to the leadership of our government, but I assure you they will be caught. In order to ensure the security of our nation I have disolved our devistated senate and given complete authority to myself and my staff so we may do what needs to be done quickly to catch those behind the attack. The borders have been closed and martial law is in effect. I ask all citizens to comply with the Guardians and Military as they investigate and protect our cities. Our hundred year union of Tidani nations that we came to call Ameracadia is too weak to combat the threat of modern terrorism that threatens our culture and morals. The Armed Forces have given their support to my government, like the pheonix rising from the ashes we will be strong and safe again.

OOC: an unknown terrorist group has attacked and killed our senators. President Jeremy Warden escaped the attack at the last minute by being unable to return from Risban, and has become Emperor of the new Empire of Tidan.

Having just seized power yesterday, Emperor Warden was sitting at his desk in a top secret location reading reports of recent incidents when his Minister of Security walked in. Warden looked up from the reports and greeted him. "Hello Lucas, things seem to be going well all things considered. What do you need?"

"Good afternoon Sir, I have some good news. We have a lead as to the identy of the attackers. A man in one of the residential areas of Albion reported his neighbor missing. We've check it out and it appears that our bomber used the house to prepare the bombs he used to destroy the Senate Building." Warden listened to what Lucas said. He had a few questions but had long ago learned to let his staff finish before jumping the gun. Lucas continued, "His identity is clearly a fake, but we have been able to track some of his recent financial transactions back to known fronts for Pharin People's Army. As you know the PPA has been around for at least a decade, they want independence for the ancient nation of Pharus that was conquered over 100 years ago by the City States of Albion. The PPA has always been little more than a joke since the Phars have integrated fully into our society and only a hundred or so have ever belonged to this fanatical group. Until now they have been a very quite group, seemingly happy to live their lives in the seclusion of the Pharin Badlands. Six months ago, however, the leader of the group died. Katus Xantes, an extremist by PPA standards, replaced him. Katus it appears has started taking steps to create his vision of independent Pharus, whether the Phars actually want it or not. What we know about the group's politics is that they are authoritarian, and communist in some respects which is why they seek seperation from our captialist system. It appears that in the last few months their numbers have swelled slightly. It is believed that they wished to use the confusion and political void caused by their attack to make their move for independence. Early this morning we lost contact with several Badland towns along the Burning River, Pharin itself is still loyal and free but we can only assume it is a matter of time before the PPA attempts to take it aswell." Lucas finished and waited for the Emperor's reply.

"Your sure about this information?" Lucas nodded. "Well then, we have to stop these rebels. Send all the information you have to the General. Tell him I want a scenario by early tomorrow for regaining control of the lost towns." Lucas nodded and stepped back to leave. "Oh, and tell the General I want this to be very quiet, and as bloodless as possible. The last thing I need now is to be labelled a tyrant by the international community. Disbanding the Republic has me nervous enough as it is."

"Yes Sir." Lucas acknowledged and left.

The Emperor thanks the Empress for her kindness and prayers. We would be most grateful to have your airships watching over our troops. In the badlands there are many places to hide and to ambush. Your help would be most welcome and beneficial for defeating this rebellion.

Emperor Warden looked over the plans on his desk. Everything had been submitted by the Minister of Defence this morning with the approval of the Generals. Not it was just a matter of positioning and waiting for things to start. The battle would not be very easy, the badlands were no easy place to live but those who did live there knew them like the back of their hand. That is why the Badlander Regiment was chosen for the assault. They were the best trained force in his army and well equiped for this kind of terrain. The Badlanders also contained Tidan's elite special ops force, the 9th Badlander Company. The 9th Badlanders were mostly a secret to the public, shrouded in the cloak of Black Ops. Spirius' Jade Ops would now team up with the 9th and be responsible for the close quarters fighting in the towns along the Burning River. The goal was to capture or kill Xantes and his fighting force, and regain control of the rebel held towns. Now with the added airships of Astevarias it would make locating and monitoring the rebels much easier.

Things looked like they were going to work out. The rebels would be stopped, and those responsible for the bombing brought to justice.

The aircraft carrying Spirius' Jade Ops Corps arrived at Burning River Airbase. The base commander Benjamin Honani watched them land from the tower. Honani was one of the mostly Pharin base staff, he had dark hair and his skin was tanned and dry from living his whole life in the arid land. Unlike the rebels, most Pharin were happy and proud to be part of Tidan. Long ago the nations of Albion, Tidan, and Pharus merged through war and conquest, by now resentment and nationalism were scarce. Honani checked the identification of the planes arriving with the list provided by the Spirians, then he exited the tower to greet them.

BURNING RIVER AIRBASE
20 KM OUTSIDE PHARIN

The twin engines of the air transport SCS Riverfork had barely had the chance to power down before the hatch began to open. The sun was beating down heavily on the black tarmac and the air around the plane shimmered in the dry desert heat. After a few moments, one hundred of Spirius’ elite special forces, known as Jade Ops, gathered outside in lines, stretching themselves out after the long journey.

As the Jade Ops began unloading their gear, a jeep raced out from the hangars toward the plane. It slowed as it approached Colonel Jakim Winters, the Jade Ops commander, eventually coming to a stop in front of him. Winters coughed slightly as gasoline fumes filled the air. A plump middle-aged man, who had been lounging in the backseat, jumped energetically out and strolled over to where Winters was standing. The colonel could tell from his well-tanned skin and thick dark hair that he was Pharin.

“Welcome to Tidan colonel,” said the man, offering his hand to Winters. “Benjamin Honani, Burning River Airbase commander.”

As Winters shook Honani’s hand gratefully, his senior officers gathered behind him, each taking turns shaking the Pharin’s hand.

“We are pleased and rather surprised I might add, to have the Spirians here with us. I hope you like the heat Colonel Winters,” Honani said. “The average temperature in the badlands is 42 degrees.”

“Yeah, colonel, it’s damned hot, here.” Winters turned to his second in command, Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Berit, who was wiping beads of sweat from his pale white face.

“And there’s no trees!” added his chief medic, Dr. Mace Kernhaven. “What the hell kind of place doesn’t have trees?”

Commander Honani laughed. “You are very right to call it such. Most of my men have nicknamed this place Hell. The best vegetation you’ll find here is cactus, my friend, and even they are poisonous.”

“Great, the Tidani call it hell and they’re used to it,” Berit said. “I don’t remember reading about that in the travel brochures.”

“I can’t believe I gave up three months of leave on Trysalvis Island for this,” said Kernhaven, shaking his head in disbelief.

Winters gritted his teeth and gave a forced smile, clearly irritated by his officer’s comments. “I know they sound like weak-ass, arrogant, whiny sons of bitches,” he said, eyeing his officers sternly, “But I assure you commander, in combat, they’re good – very good.”

“I’m sure,” Honani said. “Don’t worry colonel. I’ve seen this reaction hundreds of times. Every time we get newbies here, it takes some time to adjust. They’ll get used to it.”

Winters turned back to Honani. “That’s why we’re here commander,” Winters answered. “The Spirian Defense Forces are trained primarily in forest warfare, its time we gave our troops some real desert warfare experience. The Minister is also interested in testing the capabilities of our newest anti-terrorism taskforce. Jade Ops has been very successful in eliminating eco-terrorist cells in Spirius. We’re here to lend our ally a hand, pick up some useful tips along the way and kick some terrorist ass.”

“Well your Jade Ops has forty-eight hours to unpack and get used to the temperature before we do exactly that,” Honani said. He climbed back into the jeep and sped off back to the hangar.

Captain Conlin Faal jumped out of the back of the jeep before it left. "Good'ay Corporal, I'm Captian Faal, leader of the 9th Badlanders, Coyote Company." Conlin reached out to shake hands with the Spirians. "From what I hear our troops will be working closely together. The Badlands arn't the same as forest fighting though, in someplaces its desert and in others its rocky hills with tough flora." Faal looked at the faces of some of the Jade Ops. He smiled a little, "Don't worry men, by tomorrow night I'll have you so at home here you'll never want to leave." He smiled again at the justifiably skeptical looks he was getting. "But first you need to get some rest. Work is hard out here and we need you all at your best. Follow me, I'll show you to your barracks."

Gliding through the dull red sky like some monsterous bird of prey, the Alexandria, the Wide Eye 3, and the Scarlet Wings drifted over the scortched waste in a tight triangular formation, their shadows virtualy invisible streaks on the horizon line, growing longer still as day turned to night. The three craft, Zeppelins by design but contoured by a narrow yet sturdy hull, glistened in the waning sunlight.

Unfortunately, it's fair to say that the uncanny beauty of these graceful barges, each roughly the size of a large house, was lost on their occupants, who were growing increasingly aggitated as their ships became more and more remenicent of giant ovens... On each ship, the canopy windows of their respective bridges were open wide, and surealy, the Alexandria's captain presumed, the drowning noise of electric fans were driving his cohorts aboard the Wide Eye and the Scarlet Wings equaly bonkers...

The awkward silence was stifling, no one realy felt comfortable in it, but no one wanted to risk irritating anyone else by making a nosie without a very good excuse... strangely enough, it was a lowly ensign who managed to find one first, "I'm reading movement sir."

Captain Resan groaned to himself, idly fanning himself with the flared collar of his overcoat, which lay draped over his chair. "Another dune?"

"No sir... I see a troop transport plane, and a large contingent of troops."

Resan flashed a wide smile, the long haired youth nearly lept from this chair, snatching up his long coat and draping it over his shoulders casualy, "Excellent, bring is un quickly, ready the anchors. Remind the crew that they're representing her holiness on this voyage, and prepare to bring us down, let's give the people of Tidan a friendly surprise, eh?"

Three Chinooks roared into Albion-Tidan with construction crews and equipment. Within minutes tehy were setting up to start rebuilding their designated structure. The fourth Chinook got lost and started reapiring a standing building that was damaged in the blast. Shortly after the crews were dropped, the Chinooks took off again. They returned a while later, this time with armed gaurds. They started setting up a defensive perimeter while the Engineers started to build wildly and without mercy.

Is that an offer Empryia? I didn't order anything from you, and I'm afraid Tidan is young and our resources are limited, I doubt we cannot afford what I imagine your offer must cost.

Astevarias, I'm sorry I didn't tell you where to land your zepplins. Burning River Airbase, where you are headed now, will be perfect until the campaign is under way.

Thanks for the help Green Sun, would you like some Tidani security forces aswell or would you prefer to just use your own.

OOC: It is a reply to your terrorists... Somebody needs to supply them with materials, right?

Colonel Rigel Eisenhorn walked onto the shore of Albion. Full in the regal black and jade green Prussian Uniforms of a Luminati Janissary, he stood out like a sore thumb on the beach. That didn't matter however, his death would spark and immediate bombardment of 5 miles of coastline, the killer would not escape.

That was not going to happen. Five men appeared from the shadows of the forest. Wearing Gray Urban Camoflague the 'freedom fighters' appeared one by one all heading toward Rigel and his group of commandos.

"Colonel Eisenhorn, I am Tito Santos, welcome to Albion. I ensure you that your stay will be pleasant."

The Colonel was no man for niceties and chit-chat. He was a Jannisary of Empryia, and warrior, not a politician.

"Mr. Santos," his hard voice spoke, twinged with some anger, "I, nor my men, are hear on a pleasant cruise. You provided us with the money, and we are here to serve you. My troops will fight for your cause until the specific time allotted runs out or you break your end of the contract toward the use of my mercenaries. As you know, we no longer have any affliation with the Empryia Government if you agree to the contract as of right now."

Smiling giddly like a little child, Santos waved off Eisenhorn's comments, "It will all be good Rigel by good friend. Come, let us show you the base."

Colonel Rigel Eisenhorn of the Fifth Luminati Janissaries, the Striking Tigers, turned back to his radioman and nodded.

16,000 battle-hardened troops, plus tanks, aircraft and helicopters began to deploy on shore, all in preparation in helping the 'freedom fighters'.

After the Jade Ops corps had unpacked, in keeping with Captain Faal’s orders, the entire corps had been sent to the barracks for rest. The senior officers were bunked together in a small room.

Maj. Ax Harlander leaned back comfortably in the small bunk bed, letting out a sigh of content. He stretched his huge frame out, resting his thick boots on the steel footboard, with a clink. “Not bad for 150 durcies an hour eh Tage?” he asked. He smiled and pulled a dark blue bandana down low over his eyes.

Lt. Colonel Tage Hassan shook his head as he opened his small suitcase. “Damn man, you’re going to jinx the whole thing if you keep on talking like that. You know damn well it’s going to get nasty out there and then durcies or not, you’re not going to want to be here.” Tage began ruffling through his suitcase. He had brought only a few small personal items with him, aside from the mandatory equipment and uniforms – the essentials, he called them.

“Nasty?” interjected Captain Justine Ullind. “No guys, nasty was the Purple Haze Eco-terrorist compound at Elsa Norkira. I have a feeling Tage is right, this is going to be hardcore.” Ullind was sitting cross-legged on the top bunk, thumbing through a small hardcover notebook. She finally stopped on the last written page.

Ax laughed and rolled over to look at Tage and Justine, lifting his bandana back onto his forehead. “Girl, you say that before everything! You’re the most superstitious person I know.” He noticed Tage still ruffling through his bag. Tage finally stopped, spotting what he was looking for. Ax, had served with him in the Jade Ops for two years now and knew his comrade’s pre-battle rituals quite well. “You got the shit?” he asked.

Tage grinned as he pulled out a thick leather-bound Bible, followed by a small vial of hemp. Ax stretched his hand out. “Here give me it.”

“No,” Tage said adamantly. “You know the drill: first the Gospel than the grams. We can't do it out of order, it'll mess everything up!”

"And you call me superstitious," Justine retorted.

Tage turned to Justine. “You in on this Ullind?”

“I don’t think Tidan is a… you know, ‘free’ society. You remember what the colonel and the other sergeants told us about respecting Tidani laws and customs?” she said, putting the diary down.

The two soldiers frowned, staring at her awestruck. “You mean they don’t let you pray here?” Tage asked.

“I knew it was a backwards society,” Ax declared. “As soon as I stepped off that plane into this stifling desert air. I knew the heat wasn’t the only thing that’s oppressive.”

She shook her head, rolling her eyes. “No you retards, I don’t think they let you smoke pot!” She grinned before she added, “And after that astute response, I’m beginning to wonder why we let you either.”

“Seriously?” they chorused. The two broke out laughing. “Then I was right,” Ax repeated, his face turning serious for a moment. “This is a backwards society.”

Santos lead the Janissaries to a small bunker deep in the Albian woods. In the bunker they entered an elevator and headed underground. At the bottom of the elevator shaft the doors opened and they entered a command room.

Sitting at the end of a large table a older man in full military dress stood up to greet the Janissaries. "Hello, I am General Brook. I am the leader of the organization that hired you. We are 'Albion First'. We are the defenders of Albion's right to rule this nation. Unfortunately, for the first time in a decade or so, the President has ignored our influence and directions and the Tidani population has reached a record majority. We plan on changing that. Unfortunately our plot to topple the government has had unforseen complications. Now the Tidani President turned Emperor has seized power and resurrected the Tidan Empire that our ancestors crushed 100 years ago. That is why you are here. My forces are ready to strike and topple Warden, but we have only the support of a quarter of the armed forces. That means our 100,000 men are out numbered 3 to 1. With your help, we are going to attack fast and hard to crush them before they can fight back."

Unknown to the men underground, Mr. Santos had left the meeting. He was now running through the forest heading for the arranged drop point with an urgent message for the Tidani forces.

Faal walked through the barracks hallway to the end where the officers were and knocked on the door. When it opened a haze punched him in the face. "What the hell? OH MAN, that reaks! I can't breathe..." As his eyes cleared a little he quickly figured out what was happening. He slammed the door behind him as he left. "Be on the field in one hour for training. As guests of the Empire you are entitled to respect your own customs... but really, how do you think that is going to help you fight?" Then he exited the barracks. "Spirians, if they arn't hugging trees, their smoking them."

The thee airships decended on the Airbase. Workers all over the base stood in awe as the shimmering zeppelins came in for landings. Commander Honani smiled as he noticed the base personnel's reaction to the Astevarians. He and his aid walked out to greet the Captain of the Alexandria. As the exited their craft, Honani easily noticed the overheated state of the crew. He turned to his aid, "Go round up as many 'cool suits' as you can find that arn't being used by our tank crews. We want to make our allies as comfortable as possible during the campaign." His aid nodded and ran off to a nearby jeep and sped off to the armor barracks less than a mile from the airbase. 'Cool suit' was the name given to the apperal worn by tank crews in the desert, they depleat body heat by circulating cooled water past parts of the body that generate the most heat.

Honani continued on to the Captain in front of him. "Welcome to Burning River. The Empire thanks you for your support."

Meanwhile in Albion, Captain Hunter lead a force of Guardians to the Senate reconstruction site. From up on the Tower Hills Hunter could see the entire city. Below him Kodiak armor and mechanized infantry moved in a steady stream over the highways through the city to the west side. Above him Harriers, Thunderbolts, and Longbows patrolled the skies. Hunter approached the commander of the Green Sun guards. "I am Captain Hunter of the Tidani Guardian Agency. We have received word that rebel forces have rallied a force of several a hundred thousand men. The armed forces has been activated and the Guardians now control the city. We're here to ensure citizens of Green Sun and all the other foreign workers and ambassadors here are safe." Hunter motioned to his officers and they began deploying men around the Tower Hills.

Captain Faal and his team moved slowly through a building in the town of Calius. This was the third town he had liberated in the Burning River region since the start of the campaign. All over Calius teams from Coyote Company and Jade Ops were searching buildings and civilians while the rest of the Badlanders secured the city and area. Right now Faal's team and another were searching through city hall for the rebels that had taken control of the city. Faal's team burst into the main office. At the other end of the room men behind an over turned desk opened fire. Faal's team fell back out of the room. Faal signaled to his partner behind him, she grabbed a flash-bang from his back and pulled the pin. The rest of the team braced themselves as she tossed it into the room over the desk. It exploded in a blinding flash, deffening boom, and paralysing shock. Faal waited until the flash passed and charged into the room with his team. They shot one man as he lunged out of a side room bringing a rifle to bear. The rest of the men were tied and taken prisoner safely. "Ok Larson, we're clear inside. What's your status?"

The voice came back over the radio. "Exits are all clear. No one tried to run."

"Alright we're going to bring out the prisoners, get the transport ready."

Jade Ops channel broke over Faal's radio. "This is Winters. Captain, I think you should get down here to the armory."

CALIUS, TIDAN
2342 hrs

The cool night air was silent and eerie as Winters crouched in a dark alley. He gripped his M41A assault rifle tightly in his left hand and his intercom radio in the other, listening intently. Across from his position was an abandoned warehouse or so it appeared. Intelligence they had received from locals and Tidani loyalists had identified it as a possible storage facility for PPA arms. Jade Ops was about to verify this, hopefully depriving the separatists of a large supply of weapons.

“Tage. In position. Go.” The headphones of the intercom buzzed as Winters was told what he wanted to hear. Tage, Ax, and Berit were now in place. All he needed to hear from was Justine.

“Ullind. In position. Go!”

Winters tensed as he prepared to give the order. “Go. Repeat, go,” he spoke softly.

He clicked the radio back into place and flipped down his night vision goggles. With determination he jumped up and rushed across the street toward the front entrance of the warehouse. As he neared the main entrance - a steel garage door covered in graffiti, with a small bordered up personnel door five meters to the side - he heard the sound of glass being shattered. Ever cautious, Winters ducked behind a rusted out dumpster first, quickly scanning the front area in more detail before heading onward. The glass had most likely been from Ax when he crashed though the skylight. The entire area around the warehouse was completely devoid of any life. He could hear noises coming from inside the warehouse as the team broke in, but he did not see any guards on the outside. He leapt from behind the dumpster and charged as fast as he could toward the personnel door. With all of his speed and force, he kicked the door open violently and without missing a step rushed inside. The air inside the warehouse was musty and gasoline fumes were still noticeable. He noticed a pile of crates to his left and dove behind them.

“I—I don’t see… Oh shit!” came over the headphones. It was Justine’s voice, but it was cut out by the sound of gunfire. Ullind had gone in through the back entrance and was at the other side of the warehouse. Winters began heading toward her location when a bullet whizzed by his shoulder. It struck the ground behind him noisily. Winters didn’t have the opportunity to see where the shooter was, his reflexes had him on the floor and then crawling quickly to the refuge of an empty oil drum. Another bullet struck the drum echoing rhythmically throughout the mostly empty warehouse.

“Winters. Shit, I’m pinned down. Go,” he spoke into the small microphone hanging down from his helmet.

“Ax. I see him. Hang in their man. Go.”

Ax had gone in through the roof and was probably on the upper level. It seemed likely the sniper had come from the railing just above him, where the second level opened up and provided a view of the floor below. The gunfire in Justine’s position had ceased and he wondered if she’d found her shooter or was taking cover instead.

“Ullind. I have a kill. Go.”

“Good, girl,” he thought. She always managed to get her—

His thoughts were interrupted as the sniper took another shot striking the ground next to Winters. The shot was so close debris from the bullet impacting the floor, struck his hand. He dropped the gun and cradled his throbbing hand as he winced in pain. He rubbed his hand for a second longer before he picked the gun up again. He waited another moment, attempting to mentally triangulate the shooter’s position based on the three shots. After a moment more of silence, he quickly stuck his gun out and fired up toward the second floor. The bullet pinged off the railing but a fourth shot from the shooter forced him back quickly. Then there was a loud scream from above and then a single gunshot.

“Ax. Telegram delivered. Go.”

“Nice work Ax. The little motherfucker got me in the hand,” Winters said, slowly coming out from behind the oil drum. “Everyone report. Go.”

“Tage. My lawn is weed-less. Go.”

“Ullind. Some sprinkles but no showers. The Rainmaker is dead. Go.”

“Berit. All work and no play. Go.”

“Kind of like his love life I hear,” joked Tage, attempting to lighten the mood.

“Screw you Tage.”

“Ax, you good?” Winters asked, as he cased the main floor, his finger still on the trigger. He noticed he had not followed the procedure and checked in. “Ax?”

“Ax. No bogies but I think we’ve been outfoxed. They were here maybe five, ten minutes ago. They left in a hurry and forgot laptop computers and some documents. Go.”

“The snipers must have been a distraction. Any sign of the weapons?” Winters asked. He climbed up a steel service ladder to the second floor. The upper loft had been turned into a series of small compartment spaces. One was functioning as a kitchen, with a table and chairs, while another was a bedroom with old mattresses rotting on the floor. Winters found Ax in an office compartment, where he was examining the contents of a stack of papers.

“Tage. I think we have something here in the basement colonel. Go.”

Winters was enthusiastic and rushed back toward the ladder, followed by Ax. In a few moments he had made it to Tage’s location in the warehouse’s cramped, cluttered basement. Reaching the opening to one of the larger rooms he stopped in shock.

“Oh my god!” Winters exclaimed.

When Faal and his team arrived at the warehouse Winters aprised him of the situation. Faal raised the Captain of the Alexandria airship hovering above the city. "Captain Resan, this is Faal. We're inside the warehouse in the southeast of town. There was a cell here, we need you to move your searchlights over the area and watch for any rebels that might have gotten away." Acknowledgement came back, then Faal turned to Lieutenant Lesley Avery his explosives specialist. Lesley was a large heavily built man in his mid twenties, the humor of a man like him being given the family name Lesley was lost on no one. Of course, no one ever laughed at the giant man, and those who knew him all called him by his last name. "Avery, go toss an IR marker on the roof. Rachel, go check out the computer upstairs apparently Jade Ops found something burried on the harddrive, but its in Pharin." Lieutenants Avery and Grey saluted and headed off on their assignments.

Faal headed down to the basement. When he got there couldn't believe his eyes. He took out the Mission Objective card with faces of known rebel leaders. He was right, lying infront of him was Katus Xantes dead...

The president, satisfied with the outcome of the new bill sat down at his desk to review the latest briefs. A document marked important caught his attention, it was from his NSA.
It had the NSA's handwriting on it saying:
Sorry i couldnt personally brief you but an important matter came up that required my immediate attention. This brief contains information on the nation of Tindan. This nation has had a terrorist attack on them and since i know how much you hate terrorist organizations i have decided to bring this matter to your immediate attention. I cant wait to see your decision on this matter.
The president smiled, for his NSA truly knew him well. The president had just offered support to another nation rocked by terrorists and it had been kindly turned down.

TO: Tindan
From: HailandKill

We offer our deepest sorrow to all families affected by this terrible attack. We offer military support to help combat these terrorists and the nations that support them. We stand behind you and we hope your nation endures these troubled times.

Message from the office of the Presidency of the People's Republic of Arabistania

The People's Republic of Arabistania demands that the tyrannical Emperor of Tidan allow the international community to verify the 'evidence' that it alleges to have obtained from the safehouse linking the bomber of the Senate building to the freedom fighters of the Pharin People's Army (PPA).

Yesterday the Revolutionary People's Assembly of Arabistania passed a resolution in favour, by a 100% vote, of supporting by all means availiable the freedom fighters of the Pharin People's Army.

At this moment in time, Arabistania will provide the following to the PPA in their just cause against Tidanese fascist agression:

* 17 million USD.

* 5 SCUD B Surface to Surface missile launchers ( 3 chemical warheads with sarin gas and 2 biological warheads with smallpox).

* 3,000 AK-47 assault rifles, with 3 ammunition clips per rifle.

* 20 T-55 tanks.

* 7 T-62 tanks.

* 65 suicide bombers who have bravely volunteered to fight fo the PPA.

In addition to this the government of the People's Republic of Arabistania will reconise the PPA as the legimtimate and only rulers of Pharin and refuse to reconise the regime of the Empire of Tidan.

The Supreme Revolutionary Leader, President Sayeed Qtub, wishes to express his sorrow and sadness to the family of Katus Xantes, after his murder at the hands of the savage butchers of the Tidan regime.

Arabistania will pay 1.7 million USD to the family of Katus Xantes in the hope that this will comfort their grief and sorrow of the loss of their beloved family member.

In a speech to the People's Revolutionary Assmebly earlier this morning, the Supreme Revolutionary Leader, President Sayeed Qtub, called on the oppressed people's of Tidan to rise up and overthrow the corrupt and tyrannical Emperor and to spread the revolution from Pharin to every corner of the Tidanese Empire.

Global News Network-Breaking News from Albion 0845 hrs

Reports have just come in of a triple suicide bomb attack with chemical weapons.

Witnesses have reported to us that large areas of central Albion, the capital of the Empire of Tidan are under a cloud of yellow smoke, indicating that the bombers have used mustard gas.

Another news network which had a weather reporter in the air in a helicopter, has told GNN that just seconds before one of the blasts, on a road just outside a local junior school, a white unmarked van drove into the school driveway and then exploded into a huge fireball and only moments later the whole area was clouded in gas.

One can only imagine the horrific fate those children suffered!

The second van blew up outside a shopping mall and the third one went off in the city's central financial district.

This horrific disaster has been made all the more worse by strong winds that have enabled the gas to move over a larger area than the bombers had originally planned.

The attackers have shown a high degree of planning as they had chosen a weekday morning to stage this attack, when Albion is in the morning rush hour and many people are in the city centre, on their way to work.

With the timing of the attack and the weather conditions, the death toll from this could well top 10,000 people.

Message from the office of the Presidency of the People's Republic of Arabistania

This is an official response to the events that took place just hours before in the capital of the tyrannical Empire of Tidan, concerning the 3 way chemical weapon suicide attack.

When the People's Republic of Arabistania announced its military aid package to the freedom fighters of the Phiran People's Army (PPA), we chose not to, for obvious reasons, mention the fact that of the 65 suicide bombers we sent to fight with the PPA, 20 of these bombers were armed with chemical weapons.

It was our brave fighters who struck a blow against the decedant infidels that inhabitited central Albion. Whilst they were under PPA command, we conferred with the PPA that it would acceptable to carry out the actions that took place in central Albion this morning.

This demonstrates that the tyrannical Empire of Tidan cannot even protect its very own capital from the revolution, a revolution that won't stop until the Empire is no more!

It will also teach the butchers who had slain the brave hero of the Phrianese people, Katus Xantes. Now the butchers have also lost families and loved ones. They will only learn the hard way.

Our agents have also been able to slip out two key members of the PPA's central command. They now live in freedom and in safety in Arabistania. Now the PPA will never lose another leader to the forces of the Tidanese.

Whatever battles who have won, they are but short term gains as the PPA has an underground cell structure that we have helped set up.

The war has only started and it will only end when Tidan is destroyed.

Everyone i think aribistania should be ingnored due to blatant godmodding. You need to RP the attacks, and be very specific. Find the the thread about RPing terrorism, read it and redo all those nonsense posts. That is one of the worst godmodding ive have seen yet, you cant say it exploded and killed people, the person on the recieving end determines that, also high winds? what are you god? since when can you conjure up storms? and where did you get the weapons to detonate it. Being specific is very key.

The post regarding the chemical attack in Albion, was supposed to be from a news report. As they would be the first people to get information on the event in the minutes and hours after it happened.

Winds DO affect how affective chemical weapons are as the wind could either blow the gas away or to a population centre. The same applies to the radioactive fallout that occurs from a nuclear explosion.

As the post was supposed to be a news report, the journalist made the comment based on weather data they had for that day, if you ever watched the news you will see weather reports every now and again. Based on the weather data they had, the news channel on that post included strong winds as a FACTOR in helping the gas to move over a laeger area.

I never said that the winds were used to spread the gas, you misread my post.

As to my choice of what weather a day can have in a RP scenario, I can choose whatever condition I want unless the last post specified the weather and so I would not change the weather so drastically as that would be unrealistic.

But the previous posts (5 or so) before that one did not detail the weather outlook for Albion, so I am at liberty to choose whatever weather I wanted for that post.

The mustard gas had been produced by my nation, it wasn't bought from another nation.

However my nation lacks the ability to carry out long range attacks with WMDs and Arabistania can only use chemical agents in terrorist bombings.

Hence my attack on the Empire of Tidan was not of a conventional military attack but a terrorist one, as Arabistania lacks the means to wage a fully conventional war with any nation at this point in time.

General Kazim, the brother of the deposed president of Theba, General Jamil is now engaged in a civil war with the rebels who killed and overthrew his brother. Arabistania has refused to support the rebels and continues to supports the Kazim regime. Arabistania has sent suicide bombers over to Theba to fight alongside Kazim against the Theban rebel enemy.

In return Kazim has promised Surface to Surface Missiles (SSM) and tanks.

He has also agreed to it that the missile warheads be chemical.

When this deal is closed, hopefully by the end of this day, Arabistania will have long range WMD capabilities.

I hope this and my last post have cleared up any missing details you found in the description of my attack.

And taking that into account, do you still intend to ignore my post or to take my post on attacking Albion as part of this campaign and therefore Arabistania being at war with Tidan.

OOC:
First thanks to HailandKill and Arabistania for joining my rp.

Background info: Empire of Tidan, Tidani people. Pharus, Pharin people. Albion, Albian people.

The former Republic of Ameracadia formed 100 years ago when Tidan and Pharus banded together against Albion conquests. Tidan and Pharus lost, and the resulting Albian ruled republic was called Ameracadia and existed until the Senate was destroyed. The current President, Jeremy Warden who happened to be one of the 3 Tidani Presidents ever to serve the Republic became the ruler of the nation. No Senate, no Republic. The name Empire of Tidan was given refering the Tidani Empire that existed 100 years ago before the invasion by Albion and the creation of Ameracadia, and the fact that the President is Tidani.

The Pharin People's Army: they are an extremely fanatical group demanding independance for Pharus. The Phars in general do not support this group and they are only a few hundred strong, many of whom have been already captured or killed by the Tidani/Spirian/Astevarian forces. For clarification Katus Xantes was not killed by Tidani forces or Spirian Jade Ops, for now its a secret what happened to him. Now I have no problem with you claiming he died at the hands of my forces.

Arabistania I am willing to accept your attacks on Albion since things are going to be shifting that way in the plot, but the death toll is 3000. I dont think that is unreasonable for attacks on downtown commercial center. Even with the gas the only people in the areas would be on the roads and in office buildings. Immediately after the attacks the Guardian Federal Forces would have evacuated and seal off the areas. Also you didn't mention the third attack in your triple attack. I would like you to explain how you got the weapons and men into my country, currently 40% of my budget goes to Law&Order, 70% when combined with Defence spending. My nation is in the top 5 for safty in my region and it is only 30 million.

As for the support of the Pharin People's Army, it's not going to do much. ther are only about 50 of them left and they have only one of two desert strongholds left. There is no Pharin Rebellion, I alluded to it in one of Ameracadia's posts responding to the mercenary support of the the rebels. Albion First is a rebel group behind the attack and rebellion, they are the ones organizing everything and playing PPA for their own agenda. Their goal is an Albion military coup.

Arabistania I'm going to allow your attack but be warned, Tidani security forces will be extremely difficult to fool twice.

HailandKill thanks for your support of Tidan. I'll have an IC post in a minute accepting your help.

Warden stood over a large table inlaid with a digital map of Errune Isles. Surrounding the table were his generals. "Ok tell me what is going on."

General Holden spoke up as the meeting started and pointed to the Pharin Badlands. "First Sir we virtually eliminated the PPA forces occupying the Burning River towns. Two large discoveries have been made in Calius. Katus Xantes is dead. We don't know why he was killed but forensic investigators place his death about 1 hour before our forces arrived. Also data extracted from a computer found at PPA hq indicates that they have been receiving their orders from someone else. We don't know who yet but recent events have given us a very good idea." Holden moved attention to the area around Albion. "Yesterday Albion suffered three chemical attacks during the morning rush, we don't know how they penetrated security. Two of the attacks occured in the downtown commercial center casualties were limited to the three office towers, a mall, and commuter traffic. The third attack took place at a school, all 235 children are dead as well as the teachers and residents of the surrounding 3 city blocks. Guardian Forces worked quickly to distribute gas masks and to evacuate the areas. Arabistania has claimed responsibility for the attacks. Also there is a large rebel force advancing on Albion. We have activated the Imperial Forces but a large portion of the Albian garrison has not reported for duty. Forces from out of state are on their way but it will take several days for them to move here, organize in defencive positions, and coordinate. The capital will be over run in about 30 hours. We are out of time."

Warden found it hard to register what was happening. "Where did these forces come from?"

"Well Sir, as you know our discovery of Xantes body and data from the computer found has determined that he was not behind the attack, someone else is calling the shots. According to recent intelligence from a spy in the organization, Albion First, they were behind the attack and the PPA's recent insurgency. The intelligence also tells us that Albion First had infiltrated much higher up the command structure than anyone ever knew. General Brook is leading a third of our forces along with mercenary reinforcements against us."

Warden looked at the map. "Well thats it then, we need to regroup. Evacuate the Government to Karela. Order all of our forces from Albion to Southridge, I don't want anything left here for Brook to salvage. He's starting a civil war here, I won't let him take the government."

Message to: HailandKill
Thank you President Revello for your offer of support. We would appreciate any forces you can spare to help us fight off this Rebellion. (OOC: not too large a force though, Tidan has about 300,000 forces plus the aid of a few hundred Spirian spec forces, and Albion Rebels have 200,000 plus 16,000 mercenaries.) Please have your forces arrive at the Navguard Naval Base if they travel by sea or the Southridge Airbase if by air. We pray your forces arrive safely.

The Empire of Tidan demands you disengage your terrorist activities. By aiding these rebels you are desablizing our region and threatening to plunge the Errune Isles into civil war. Her Holiness remains resolved to see this conflict end in favour of the interests of the people of Tidan, and thus, shal continue providing support to Emperor Warden by whatever means he requests. Be advised, that in adition to the three heavy scout craft which shall remain in your service untill the conflict is brought to a close, three aditional airships have been commited to the operation: the light aircraft carrier Gilded Fence, and the heavy assault cruisers Fireball II and The Dove.

The Fireball II will most likely arrive within 24 hours, escorting with it two aditional ships who's purpose shall be outlined shortly as part of our embasy exchange program. Unfortunately, due to the nature of it's design, the Gilded Fence and it's escourt, the Dove will require a bare minimum of 40 hourse to arrive. Though we are aware this time constraint will render them useless in the initial conflict, we are confident that they will be able to effectively block the city off from outside influences, provided that your aditional allies follow through with the support they've offered.

The sun beat heavily down on the Jade Ops as they arrived at Talinor a small town ten kilometers east of Calius. Winters wiped the sweat off the side of his face with a flick of his hand. The Tidani were right, he had gotten used to the heat.

The Jade Ops moved swiftly and quickly as they entered the town. The laptop they had found at the warehouse a few days before had given the locations of many members of the PPA. They had been sent to raid two PPA terrorist homes, capture or kill the inhabitants and return with any more information that might help the Empire crush the PPA rebellion.

The hundred-man force moved through the bustling town, AK-47s cleaned and brandished as they circled toward their targets. Civilians eyed them nervously, but kept out of their way. Stoping at one small two-story, rundown house, twenty men moved into position, while others continued on to the other targets. Winters nodded and Tage rushed forward, kicking the door in and moving in quickly to secure the house.

"Down on the floor! Now! Move it!" they screamed at the inhabitants.

The unsuspecting family tried to explain in Pharin, but this only agrivated the Jade Ops more. Finally everyone, two men, three women and two little girls, layed themselves on the floor, while the Jade Ops held guns at their heads. Tage and Winters moved about the house searching for anything of value. On the kitchen table they found bowls and plates with a freshly prepared meal on it. The smell of garlic filled the poor delapitated house, prompting two officers to ask Tage if they could have the garlic bread cooking in the oven. Tage shook his head, although his mouth was watering too.

Winters entered a small room at the back of the house, where a desktop computer sat. The computer was on and the boy who had been using it was now being held at gunpoint against the wall.

Winters looked at the screen for a moment before shrugging, "Take it. We'll see what's on it."

As another soldier moved toward the computer, the boy, realizing what the Spirian was about to do, moved to rush toward the soldier to stop him, in a desperate panick. The slight movement prompted the private to open fire killing the boy instantly.

They disconnected the computer and brought it out into the main living room. There Tage eagerly rushed toward Winters.

"We found Raul Sadrig," said Tage, pointing to one of the men on the floor. "He's grown a beard, but he still matches the profile we got from the warehouse computer."

"Well, he ought to know that he's under arrest and that his son is dead," added Winters coldly. "He's going to learn the hard way that when you take the war to civilians, we'll be there to bring it back to you--"

Winters was cut off by the sound of a gunshot. He turned his head from Tage to the now dead body of Raul Sadrig, who was lying face down in an expanding pool of blood, leaking from a bullet wound to the head. Winters was furious, but before he could react, the private who had just killed him grabbed the man's arm out from underneath his collapsed body to reveal that he was holding a tiny pistol. He had obviously hidden it near his hips and had managed to access it while the Jade Ops was distracted with searching the house.

"A few more seconds and you might have been a dead man, sir," the private stated, gulping nervously.

Winters nodded and motioned for the Jade Ops to move out of the house. They had done their duty and achieved their objectives. They turned, leaving the remaining family members to shout angrily and cry loudly at the loss of father and son.

"Sir, we've secured the rest of the town," reported Justine, approaching Winters as he led Tage's squad out of the house. "In all we captured two other wanted PPA operatives and news just arrived from Albion. The government has evaculated the city and we are requested to report to Southridge Airbase."

The Jade Ops moved out proudly from the town, their mission accomplished.

At a computer terminal on the otherside of Tidan, a man sat reading the latest post on a PPA message board. The post was in code, but his extensive experience with the organization allowed him to decode it as he read.

The text messenger he was running in the background flashed and he switched back to see Raul Sadrig's message. Sadrig was running his webcam and he could see him typing casually, while his twelve-year-old son sat beside him begging to use the computer. Suddenly Raul disappeared and his son took over for a moment. He was about to switch back to the message board when he suddenly saw the boy panick and dart across the room as two foreign looking soldiers broke in. They forced the boy against the wall and held him there for awhile.

The man was amazed at what he was seeing. He began recording the webcam transmission. As he strained harder to see in the small screen, he was certain the soldiers were not Tidani or Pharin. Who were they? As he continued to watch, a colonel entered and then the private opened fire on Raul's son. The body dropped to the ground like a dummy and lay their lifelessly. Then the screen went blank.

The man quickly went back and watched the video over and over, trying to figure out who the soldiers were. He contacted many of his ringleaders, sending them the video. He then posted the video on the message boards and other popular PPA internet sites.

IC: General Holden hung over the map of the Errune Isles with the other coalition commanders. The map zoomed in on the border of the Tidan and Albion states, a long winding river that twisted its way down from the mountains in Tidan's neighbor Cyrrus, Legacy River. In the middle of the river was Lake Archus, the map now centered on it.

Holden looked around the room then spoke. "Ok people, our forces are holding the enemy on the other side of the Legacy. The Tidani Imperial Forces out number the Albian forces but not enough for a successful river assault. That is where you all come in. The Badlander Regiment is arriving from Pharin as we speak, they will be placed along the border with Cyrrus on the eastern side of the lake. The HailandKill divisions will join with the forces west of the lake along the coast. Jade Ops will be on our side of the lake. In three days, when all of the forces have arrived and possitioned themselves we will attack. HailandKill and the Badlanders along with the Imperial Army will attack from either side of the lake across the river. This will include airborne and amphibious landings. Meanwhile, Jade Ops will amphibiously cross the lake and land on the Albian side. There is a dense forest at Jade Ops landing zone, which I understand is your specialty. The most important thing will be surprising the enemy, as the their forces there will be thin but heavily fortified in the forest. If this assault can succeed we will gain a foothold in Albion and it will be much easier to push them back. Any questions?"

Winters grinned at the map, studying the forest landing ground carefully.

"I'd like a topographical map of the area if you have one General Holden, but it looks routine enough for Jade Ops. Of course we'll need to borrow a few AAVs for the crossing."

Winters was excited. Over the course of the campaign, there'd been many rough spots and times when Jade Ops hadn't measured up to the exemplary performance he'd come to expect from them. Now finally he could show off Jade Ops' expert unparalleled skill in forest warfare.

"Just say the word General and we'll be there."

OOC: I'm so sorry I forgot about you again Astevarias, I swear I meant to include you but by the end I had to go and rushed it and forgot.

IC: Holden motioned to the HailandKill commanders. "Completely understandable, our forces also need time to organize. We'll attack on the third day after arriving in position."

Then to Winters, "Indeed you shall, I'll have one of my aides get those for you right away." Holden signaled to a lower ranking officer at the edge of the room, the man nodded and hurried off. "As for transport I believe you will find our Otter AAVs more than satisfactory."

Finally he turned to the Astevarian Captain of the Fireball II. "I would like your ships to close air support over our forces and your carrier would be most helpful in acheiving superiority. I'll leave it up to you how to distribute your airships, but I'd like you cover our Badlander reinforced forces east of the lake. Our airforce will worry about supporting the HailandKill and Jade Ops forces. Also I'd like the Mobile Star to help move armor across the river once a beach head is established. What is the Mobile Star's cargo capacity?"

Lt. Col. Sanders came out of the military operations room, he signaled to his XO
"We have our orders lets push off and haul ass"
"Yes sir" responded the XO "All men and vehicles have been cleaned of the ships"
"OK, good, now get the men marching to this point, get our tanks, UH-60's and APCs out to this point too."

1st and 2nd division were on the move towards their position. Their first goal was to get a base of operations 10 miles behind the assualt lines. Many of the men were marching, some transported by the large amount black hawks availible, some in the SOV's and some on the tanks. The troops were moving at a fast rate, as to set up their bases.

Captain Conlin Faal jumped off the rotary transport into the moonlite field. Coyote Company had been airdropped ahead of the main force on the eastern front. Faal signalled to the rest of his squad, they formed up and disappeared into the nearby wood. 5 klicks away was a hill held by the Janissary mercenaries. The Coyotes had to group up and take the hill before the main force arrived, that gave them only 2 nights.

Meanwhile the Imperial Joust Armored Division was transporting across the Legacy while the Albian side was bombarded by artillery fire. The doors to the transport opened up and Kodiaks roared out engaging enemy defences while Thunderbolts provided close-air-support.

OOC: wow time goes fast. Sorry there isn't more, just trying to keep my ideas going atm.

HailandKill's two divisions were at the destination waiting for everyone else. The divisions encampment, and main base was set up. Sitting in that base included many lines of tanks, helicopters and many many tents. The first soldiers and tanks were being picked to be helicoptered over the river, or driven through. All soldiers were now ready to go at an instant.
((OOC: The way i play its like set up a base and then mini blitzkrieg their ass.))

OOC: Ok it's been a very long time with 2 jobs and a vacation since this story stopped. So I'm going to just kind of end it so I can move on. Those involved can take some time to describe their movements if they are still around and interested. Basically we are going to assault the Albion Army and destroy it, in the process however casualties are high and the civil war in Albion will be at the boiling point.

IC: On the Eastern Front HailandKill's divisions made ground fast, leading part of the Tidani Forces south along the coast. West of them was the dense Archus Forest, too dense for any large force to penetrate. Undoubtedly there were Albion forces in there but nothing that could seriously threaten the HailandKill men and machines. Securing the forest would be another story though, hell to find and destroy a base of operations for Albion commandos inside. That is why the job was to be ignored by all forces and the entire forest would be bypassed. Jade Ops, Spirius' elite commandos were going to move into the forest alone, take the enemy by surprise and clear the forest of all threats.

On the Western Front things weren't going as well, with the Archus Forest on their eastern flank, the Badlander Regement and the western Tidani Forces had to take control of the hilly terrain. To make matters worse these Albion forces were supported by the 15,000 strong Luminati Janissary mercenary group. This was so far unknown to any of the allied forces, and Coyote company was approaching a base filled with Janissaries, ordered to take or destroy it.

* * * * *

Captain Faal lay in the grass camouflaged watching a patrol march past him on a road away from the base. His group had been outside the base observing movements and forces for 6 hours. With the arrival of the rest of Badlander Regiment bearing down on him, he decided it was time to move in. Here they had paused to wait for the right time.

Something was wrong, he stared at the patrol, two men very well armed. "John take a look at this patrol, have you ever seen those uniforms before?" He waited a minute and a reply came over his head set. One of his snipers whispered back, "No, I've never seen them before. Not typical Albion arms either." Faal thought for a minute, this was not good, whoever they were they were well armed and well trained. "Take down the patrol." He ordered.

Over the radio came the response. "North." called out one of the snipers. "South." another replied. Faal counted down in his head form the last response. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. POP! One silenced shot was heard and the two men fell. Faal and Avery jumped from their cover, ran up to the road and dragged the two bodies back to cover. They went through their uniforms, they were marked as Luminati Janissaries but no national markings. "Damn, they're mercs." He flipped on his radio, "Looks like the base is maned by mercenaries. No one we've ever heard of before. We need to do this professionally men. Lets move now, plan ghost."

Coyote Company arrayed itself around the base. 40 snipers and marksmen took highground and possitions in trees around the base. The remaining 100 troops got close to the base's entrances ready to assault. The snipers found targets, taking out the men in watchtowers and machinegun nests first, then they started clearing the open areas. When the defences were down the assault teams moved in.

Fire fights broke out all over the base, Faal led his squad through the battle to power generator bunker. Picking a side door, Avery placed a breaching charge and blasted the door in. Rachel tossed in flashbang and the squad charged into the bunker. In the shadowy hallways Conlin Faal's instincts took over. He'd been through training for this since his earliest childhood memory, it was second nature to him. His eyes didnt stop moving, scanning the potential places someone could enter the hallway. They made their way through the building as covertly as possible, most of the guards must have been called out to fight off Coyote Company. Finally they reached the generator room. Two guards were stationed outside. Around a corner Faal's squad put on their gas masks then rounded the corner firing, taking down the guards.

Inside the generator room, six guards arrayed themselves behind desks and equipment. The door opened and smoke grenades were thrown in.

The smoke began leaking out of the door. Faal flipped down the goggles on his helmet and switched them to thermal imaging. Then he kicked in the door and rushed inside and quickly across the wall to the right. His squad followed him in with two staying behind to watch the hallway. Shots began to ring out as they identified targets in the smoke, followed quickly by the guards opening fire in the direction of the doorway blindly firing at the noise. Bullets hit body armor as the guards and Tidani fell in the shootout. when the smoke cleared the room the guards lay on the ground along with three of Captain Faal's men. Conlin picked two bullets out of his chest armor and looked around at his squad. Those standing seemed to be alright, except Leiutenant Grey, she had a wound on her left arm. Sergeant Cein Rho, moved over the fallen men, two were dead and the third had severe chest wounds. Rho looked at Grey's arm, "It didn't go in, it looks like it just cut through the outer tissue." He took out an antiseptic bandage and wrapped her arm. "We'll need to move them out of here now while we still can."

Faal agreed, "Avery get that C4 set. Lets move." The squad worked on getting their wounded and dead mates out of the room and started down the hall. Quickly Avery caught up with them, "Charge set ... 3 minutes 43 seconds." Faal nodded, "Move people! The fire has been lit under our asses, now move like it!"

They made two thirds out when the charge detonated demolishing the power generator. The lights flickered and went out. The squad switched over to nightvision on their goggles, and in the dark made the rest of the way out.

The company spent the next 4 hours clearing out the rest of the base's buildings. They took heavy losses during the battle. Two thirds of the company were wounded with over half of those being critical. So 50 men and women held a the base with 3 hours left until the Tidani Army arrived. Then they could secure and protect the base, airlift in reinforcements and lift out the casualties.
