The Unknown Attacker

OOC: Hi. I’m basically a newbie, but I'd love some rp experience, so please bear with me if I'm not very good. Thank you very much!"
IC:
Carl Green raced desperately to the comm. room as shots rang out in the night. He couldn't fathom why anyone would want to attack N Y C, which was renowned throughout the world for its fairness and diplomacy. And furthermore, why attack a unarmed ship transporting building supplies to Bermuda Colony. Whatever the reason, however, the fact remained that a battleship was assaulting them, and the John Jay would be sunk in less then twenty minutes.
He reached the comm. room at the listing bow of the ship. He slipped on the watery floor as he reached the desk. He turned on the radio. Shorted out. He then reached for the phone, securely fastened high above the water. He dialed the coastguard. After five tense minutes, he got through, the water rising quickly.
"SOS. This is the John Jay, Boston class merchant ship. We are taking on water. Requesting search and rescue. We have been attacked by an enemy battleship flying the flag of..."
His last words were gargled by the water flooding the cabin

Later that night, President Charles Koler stood wide eyed beside his desk as his chief of staff finished talking.
"So you see, Mr.President, what we have is an act of war, but we have no idea who it’s from. So, what do we do?"
"Well, Tom, I'm not sure really. Put the military on alert. Notify the intelligence services; see what they can dig up.”
“And then, Mr. President?”
“And then we wait Tom. And then we wait”

The capitain turned once more to see the water rush into the air like a whale exhaling from a deep dive.

N Y C was gripped with fear over the next few days. Who was the aggressor, or aggressors, who sank a defensless merchant ship. N Y C was a beacon of compassion and democracy, and she had many strong friends...but many sworn enemies as well. In the meanwhile, many denizens of N Y C continued to speculate, and shudder

Once the Emperor was informed of the details, he made sure all was kept quiet. A second trip by the whole fleet this time, into NYC waters was needed.

With the fleet sitting 100nm off NYC, they lower there flags and raise the skull and cross bones of the days of priacy. The small fleet goes looking for more of NYC trade, which they plan to sieze.

IC:
The aircraft was flying high above the ocean, the pilot's eyes trained on the tumbling surf below him. Suddenly, he glimpsed a flash against the grey. He doubled back and checked his radar. Multiple moving blips signified a large fleet below him. And on a N Y C shipping lane no less. It must be the source of the attacks that had plagued N Y C for the last week. Over 15 million Newyorkies worth of cargo, and 37 lives, had been lost to the sea, and still the Navy had not located the aggressors. The military's theory was that the enemy was trying to wreak havoc on the economy before attacking, but no one was sure.
The pilot flew down for a closer look, and trained his nightvision binoculars on the ship. He just barely made out the words " Buben" He immidiately radioed Naval high command with all the information. As he read the coordinates, a string of cursing erupted over the radio. His report done, the pilot checked the coordinates against the onboard computer's map. He gulped and bit his lip. They were a hour's sail from Isla de el Bosque Grande. Although small, the heavily forested island was a hub of shipping in the southern seas and a vital refueling point. It's loss would make any naval and air war in the southern seas difficult.
He radioed the naval base there to make sure they knew, and then switched off the autopilot. He spent the next several minutes observing the fleet. He knew what he had to do to slow them down. carefully sighting the battleship in the center of the fleet, he pressed the button to release the bombs. Realizing he had about thirty seconds before he would be ripped to shreds by anti-aircraft fire, he speedily made a harrowing turn and raced towards Isla de el Bosque Grande. They would need all the help they could get.

OOC -- Thats all right, I too knew much less then I do now, most people are friendly enough to help with your questions and what not. Also of note, I'm not a prick who always has to win, for this i'll use nothing speacil, just ordinary MT stuff.

IC -- "...Admiral aircraft 2 o'clock of the port bow..."

"...Just one..."

"...Only one sir...orders...."

The Admiral stares out the window from the flagship Victoria. Unsure if he should really do anything as it mearly seems to be observing. Then when it picks up pace and moves directly toward the flagship, the admiral freaks out his orders.

Suddenly the quiet fleet begins to luanch it's cap as the lone fighter drops it's payload. With the bombs falling, the phalanx mk 15 ciws(Anti Air craft guns) begin to pick off the falling bombs, though 3 make it through and explode upon the deck of Victoria.

Damage reports are quick to come in,

"..Admiral...mostly surface damage sir...heavy damage to one of the 65calibur turrets...we'll have to wait till drydock to fix it...No causlitys though several injuries which are being tended to right now..."

"..Very well then..hopefully the fighters catch that bastartd..."

By now four F-22's are airborn and begin to chase the lone craft back towards it's border, though they are out of range for now....

The captain of the airplane looked back at the fleet. Although the flagship looked slightly damaged, it appeared he had, at best, crippled one gun. At least he had caught them offguard. Unfortunately, they had sent three fighters to bring him down. He knew it wouldn't matter. He had radioed all the details, which were now being pored over by Naval high command back in the map room at the Water House, the presidential home. He was running out of fuel, and knew he couldn't chance a persuit, especially one that would lead the planes closer to the IBG naval base. Instead, he circled around, waiting for the fighters to draw near. Once they were on top of him, he made a very dangerous move. Turning sharply upward, he gained altitude over the planes and started bombing. His plane was a bit newer then his enemy's, and he had a slight advantage. He hit two of the planes, although he though only one was critically damaged. The third plane made a sharp turn and fired at him. The cabin erupted in a shower of sparks, and he plunged into the water. His last thought was that the country had been alerted. But was it too late?

About the same time, President Koler, his eyes heavy with lack of sleep, bit his nail as he read the data from the Navy on the fleet, and the Intelligence Service's report on Buben. He felt a deep pit in his stomach. There was no way he could hope to even makje a truce. He was dealing with a nation exponetionally more ready for war in evey way. He only had one option. He sent the folowing message to his allies:
My friends,
For many years my country has been a vital trade partner with the free world. And today, we stand threatened by a force greater than ourselves, a force that does not stand for the same compassionate and democratic ideals that we stand for. And now, in our time of need, we ask you to aid us in our defense against Buben, and any other nation they may be working with. Please, do this not just because of us, but for yourselves. It is unacceptable to have dictatorships try to snuff out the light of freedom. So, with a heavy heart, we imp[lore ytou to aid us.
sincerely,
The republic of N Y C

"...Admiral the planes apparently took him out...Some damage may look like one will have to ditch...and an unencrypted transmission came through for NYC which we have picked up...Some nation called Nebarri prime is sending help..."

"...Fools...intel suggest there no match...even with the NYC forces..they'll still be crushed...Alright then...inform centrel command of the latest devolopments and continue the fleet northward...I want to see why that plane didnt want us up that way..."

With no formal relations and no declearation of war, things were certianly heating up in the atlantic. Centrel command spending the last few months pouring over intell about the city decided to let the fleet know of the number one target, the IBG naval base. The Emperor decides if they are to have any hope of cutting NYC trade, that naval station had to go. Word is sent to the fleet.

'...New orders sir...We sit tight till reenforcements come..."

"...I'm not waiting for reenforcements to get here from the pacific...No way we move against it before any of there help shows up..."

Rushing to the ops room of the flagship, he counters the orders and begins his own plan. Of the approximatly 280 aircraft with-in the fleet, he draws up plans to move in. A nice mix of air to air and air to ground, with prowler jamming support take off from the decks. The F-22's led the way covering for the F-16's.

OOC -- I'll give you the chance to spot them and mount some sort of defence. And Nebarri prime, if you encrypt your messages, then I cant recieve them :)

10 mins. later, IBG Naval base.

The sirens blared as the island prepared for an assault. Every civillian aircraft on the island had been commisioned to evacuate the elderly, infirm and young to the mainland. The naval commander silently prayed for a split secondbefore issuing more orders. He knew, at heart, that unless something drastic was done here, now, there would be no hope. The force from Nebarri-Prime would take a few days to get here, and the enemy fleet would be here in about an hour. He was so lost in thought he hardly heard a subordinate blabbering away about burning the documents and scuttling the results of project Nautilus. Suddenly, he had it!
Project Nautilus was possibly the most well kept secret of the N Y C navy. It consisted of the construction of small, speedy subs that were perfect for patrolling even moderately deep harbors. It gave N Y C a huge advantage should it ever have to invade a port city. Futhermore, they were just small enough as to be confused with debris by any of the few ships that would still have sub detection systems on. Of course, due to the small space they had to work in and their small payload, the subs caried enough shots to destroy at best two moderately armed ships. That is, unless the two person team onboard had a deathwish.
He made a rather cryptic announcement over the intercom, tears welling in his eyes, "Would all personell trained in command of Nautilus craft and willing to die tonight in defense of their country please make your way to the Commander's office. That is all."
Half an hour later, 8 somberfaced pairs of people lowered themselves into the tiny, blue-gray subs sparkling in the moonlight. It was a beautiful night to become a martyr.
Stepping carefully over the multiple wires connected to a cache of explosives that made the already cramped sub claustrophobic, they closed the hatch and made their way to the channels at the harbor entrance. On the top tower of the base, searchlights were trained on a white flag fluttering in the light breeze. The small, sad party standing at the dock quickly made their way back to the base where the others were recieving arms and positioning themselves far away from the water. The subs moved into position as the fleet appeared on the horizon.

"...Flag seems to be Laskon sir..."

"...Beats me sir...perhaps we should inform them to stay away due to an ongoing conflict..."

"...Gee thats a great idea skippy...why dont you tell them..."

The admiral turns away and paces the bridge, annoyed that the "help" as he called them insist's on checking first instead of just following naval protocol. With unexpected help for some reason showing up against them, the planes need to hurry as the sight of the city and the IBG Naval base are just upon the horizon from the fleet. Some stared in amazment at the statue of liberty, before there officers reminded them that there is a conflict brewing around them.

Several more minutes went by and the fighters give word of there approach. The first wave of 40 F-22's, 30 F-16's and 4 plowers slipts and moves toward the naval base. The 35 F-16's swoop down out of the cloud cover and begin to target any and all ground based air defence systems, while the F-22's hang high looking to intercept anything throwen there way, with the prowlers doing what they do, trying to jam enemy air defences. Spotting a guaranted 10 upon there first pass, the F-16's let there shit loose upon the base.

"What the hell? But this place is a free shipping zone, who'd have a reason to attack it?"

"Perhaps a market competitor?"

"Well, who cares about that right now. We can't let a bunch of people die for some jealous economist's idea of "getting ahead" of a competitor. Prep the fighters and get the battlecruisers and destroyers into position."

"Aye, sir."

The fourteen harriers and F-16s were prepped for launch in less than fifteen minutes, soon, the battleships and destroyers were also in a position to send a volley of shells barraging against the Buben fleet.

"Remember, pilots, just scare them enough to make them retreat, we don't want an international crisis. Now god speed, gentlemen."

The fighters took off and streaked towards the Buben fighters tearing towards the port island, they locked missles and engaged.

The three battlecruisers took up a firing position with the five porter class and DD class destroyers around them. The attack craft and Skjolds held back until given the order to move in on the Buben ships, The Corvettes were behind them, ready to give medium support.

"Sir, we're getting a transmission to stand down."

The N Y C spaceship NYCS Amsterdam sends out a message to the soviet leader's ship, explaining the situation back on earth and requesting aid. They knew they would need it

Meanwhile, back in the frantic comms. room at ISBG Naval Base, three messages were sent almost simultaniously. The first two were sent to the rapidly approaching fleets of Buben and Riegab, reminfing them of N Y C's internationally recognized sovreignity and the penaltys facing any nation attacking a free port. The third message, highly encrypted, was sent to Laskon.
Attn. Laskon fleet.
Permission to dock granted on condition you do not aid enemy fleets, and if possible defend against them. WARNING! Dock in inner harbor, and limit number of people allowed on open decks. You can begin moving once we complete operation at harbor mouth. You will recognize it when you see it.
END TRANSMISSION

Around the base, patriot missiles were carefully fired in defense, making sure to not hit the Laskon and N Y C fighters streaking across the sky. Down in the depths of the harbor, the men and women manning the subs prepared to make a move that could make or break the defense of IBG, and possibly the entire nation itself.

In the capital, pandemonium was at an al time high as the state department desperately tried to contact the enemy governments, while the armed forces drew up battle plans for the major cities and bases. N Y C teetered near destruction, but prehaps with enough friends it could be pulled out. The one good thing that had happened out of this was that traderoutes were temporarily safe, and the ports on islands throughout the country, especially those near the invasion, breathed a little easier with the fresh and overwhelming stream of supplies. This was brought on by the National Trade Comission, who had the foresight to realize this might be their only open window for trade for quite some time....

As far as we know, detonating them anywhere near where the enemy fleets are now would severaly damage the docks along with the enemy ships, I am prepared to send my Skjolds and attack craft to pepper some of their cruisers away from the main fight, but their heavier craft will be harder to move. Yes to all. All major cities, towns, ports, travel destinations as well as all military bases except Arctic and Antactic ones have landing pads. All anti-air defenses are on alert due to the war. However, we still suggest not flying near any of the enemies and avoiding the South Atlantic altogether. All flights around that area are being redirected to Rio de Janeiro. In the capital city, Manhattanston, the president watched the event in Soviet Leaders with a smile on his face. He wrote a quick note of personal thanks, asking them to beam down on the far side of IBG, about a half hour sail from the port.

Meanwhile, at the port, the last citizens scrambled into their homes as the Laskon ships' decks became eriley quiet. The fire stopped momentarily as the decks were abandoned, and a hushed silence gripped the city, spreading out to the ever growing mass of ships at the harbor mouth. The order came loud and clear, unencrypted: Detonate
Precisely 7 seconds later, 8 small subs packed with explosives exploded, the roar knocking plaster off roofs a mile away. The light was incredible, and the entire outer port was lit up by the fiery glow. A coulmn of spray tore its way to the sky, so high that the wind carried it to the beach, the spray misting the faces of the few souls standing at the entrance to the base. It was only then, when the sound stopped and the light began to fade slightly, that the screams began. The commander, looking out to the towering enferno that contained those sub commanders, and many other brave souls, wept, his tears spilling into the sand

While not military-grade, the highly volatile substances aboard, in conjunction with Empryia's laws of transportation of hazardous material required the military escost.

Even as she passed through N Y C waters, ready to deliver her cargo to a N Y C Corporation, the flight of fighters overhead and odd-sonar contacts caused no alarm among the crew of the Andromeda. Commodore Ritcher continued the Starlight on her course. He refused to send the new Sea Dragon Interceptors into the air but have two on ready stand by in case anything became untoward towards the small convoy.

She steams along, not knowing of the danger ahead.

With 4 support ships falling for the ruse, the Admiral seeing the failure of the captians moves quickly orders his ships to return to postition, though only 1 makes it back before the explosian. Before long, the three ships caught in the blast limp back. The Cronwall listing heavly and the Brix slowly succumbing to the enemy, with the Stronach heavly damaged, but able to sail under it's own power.

"...Sir if the cornwall takes another hit it's done for.."

"..Foolish Cpt Branigan...Why did they take the bait..."

The Admiral turns to watch the Brix slowly slip to her watery grave, then watchs the rescue effort, before he orders full bombardment of the Naval Base from the Capitol Ships main turrets of 65mm cannons. Moving just within range(about 10kms from shore or so????)the turrets all point north and open up indiscriminately upon the base.

The F-22's pumping out chaffs for all there worth when they need too, are still looking for victams to prey on and continue to circle like vultures, while the F-16's take some loses from the air defences, the remander continue to spot the sam sites and make another pass with a guaranted 10 sam units spotted, they drop there laser guided Mavericks and HARM missles. And with things getting kinda loaded, 20 F-18 Super Hornet Maritime Strike Attack Aircraft take off and circle the fleet looking to strike any ship that comes in view.

OOC:
Big corrections need to be made, and not by me. My battleships fired at Riegab's ships, the fighters were sent to intercept Buben's, and the corvettes, attack craft, and Skjolds were sent after the Buben fleet with the subs.

Bubens ships were hit with the subs and explosions. Everyone good? Alright, then. :(

I thought this is what you had in mind, NYC, but you tell me.
IC:

"Sir, the attack was off, we didn't damage them much..."

"Redirect cannons more accurately and commence barrage!"

The shells for the Riegab's fleet glanced off the bows of several of the cruisers, and smashed into a cannon of one of the destroyers, but they percerviered and continued firing.
Riegab
03-05-2005, 21:46
The leader of the planes in route to the Laskon fleet saw the shells just graze the ships and radioed back to lower their aim by a couple degrees, hopefully they won't move much.

"...hey Goni, do you see that, looks like we just missed..."

"...oh yeah, better radio back and tell the fleet, have them fire several more times then we should be in range to attack..."

"...aye..."

OOC: I was under the impression that the fleet to reieve the subs for explosions was our because we are at the mouth of the harbour as N Y C stated.

Back at the fleet.

"...captain, look!..." (from the already crippled battleship)

This time the shots were dead on, they took out one cruiser, not sunk but on fire and the upper decks were mangled, the battleship hit the first time was hit in the forward deck where fires reached, through the already open holes, the magazine... BOOM! That battleship was destroyed, along with a one destroyer that was right next to it listed over on its side from the explosion and one more destroyer was hit the front guns out of commision.

"...captain! messages coming in from our pilots, aim lower, fire twice more, then we will attack..."

"...ah good, you heard him officer! order the guns lowered, fire twice more, then the flight will strike..."

"...aye sir..."

And all of a sudden out of nowhere explosions rip through the hulls of the remaining destroyers. One of the carriers and sunk the already useless cruiser, leaving us and with one battleship, carrier and cruiser.

"...ah I see... ...well, send the remaining planes into the air, in case of an attack here, have those planes attack the other fleet now, and call out to the rest of the fleet in the atlantic mabye they can spare some ships..."

"Sir, we hit um! More than 5 ships were hit, sir."

"Good job, everyone, now continue barrage!"

"Sir, a battlecruiser has been hit, and two destroyers are sinking!"

"Looks like they tried to get two shots in before we could get in a third, fine, fire at will at any target worth presenting."

"Sir, incoming planes from the Riegab carrier..."

"Ready the CIWS! Get all personal who aren't manning a gun station below decks!"

But it was to late, the Riegab fighters tore across the bow of the Laskonian flagship carrier, Rockthorn, killing many defenseless navy personal.

"Make them pay, gunners."

Meanwhile, the corvettes, attack craft, and Skjolds were moving farther into the port of NYC, they had been ordered to stay there in case the enemy fleet advanced more, they could hold them off for a small amount of time.

"...Beta Leader this is Alpha Leader, now that we have the enemy all tied up with us get ready to drop your loads on the carriers first, then go for the battlecruisers over... ok men let draw their fire, attack any anti air you find but steer clear of the carriers over..."

"Copy that Alpha Leader, this is Beta Leader droping load, alright guys let's bust their carriers wide open, go!"

In there haste when the flight arrived several of their shells missed, but two hit the cruiser, not doing much but taking out the forward guns. (3 of them, 2 left)

Meanwhile...

"...aye sir, we can allot about 3 battleships, 1 cruiser and 4 destroyers to aid no over..."

"...yes good, but do you see where the Laskon fleet is located, send the detachment around to flank them, they'll be firing at us whilst we suprise them, over..."

"...aye, good plan, the detachment is now underway and should arrive in 5 hours over and out"

Now the fleet at the mouth of the harbour will begin to move toward the Buben fleet to draw them closer to the harbour mouth themselves, therefor when our new fleet hits them they may possibly block the harbour.

OOC: Or it could be a long shot, that doesn't work...

"...Laskon fighters incoming..."

"...Break formation and engage...remember all you were taught and this should be a cakewalk.."

And with that the fighters broke off into wingmen formations and tried everything they could to get in behind the fighters heading for them, while 15 of the F-22's stayed above the F-16's for cover. With the fighters getting closer and closer before long all the bells start going off and several fighters fire there Air to Air missles head on with the planes approaching.

And the Battleships continue to bombard the shore form there position.

"...You want to talk to them about this..."

"Alright, ladies, you know the drill. Distrat the Buben fighters until the harriers are clear."

The F-16s roared up to meet the Buben fighters while the harriers continued on their way to bombard the Buben main fleet...

The Admiral looked angrily up into the sky.

"Increase the antiaircraft firing, and get those battleships to cover their flanks!"

Several bombs crashed onto the main deck of the carrier.

"Are the decks clear?"

"Yes sir, but our planes might have trouble landing..."

"We can land them in NYC. Continueing firing, dammit!"

The Skjolds and attack craft were now given an order, seeing the enemy ships beginning to move slightly, they rushed forward, playing with the range of the enemy ships guns, they made small attack runs with their heavier machine guns and small cannons, rushing back to the safety of the inner harbor when they were done.

The Corvettes now opened up with their STS missles, firing several at the Riegab fleet...

Dear Emperor,
Kow this right now. The government of N Y C demands a full explination of your actions. Obseving some of the foolhardy tactics employed by your fleet commander has led us to the same conclusion about his sanity. We are willing to conduct talks on Nutral Island, approximately in the middle of the Atlantic and reserved for dimplomatic summits. As you know, any approach to there with a military force is considered an act against the world. We shall conduct talks five days hence. Until this time, we are asking for a ceasefire, as we don't want to have any more damage done to either side. We are a nation whose only goal is peace.

Commodore Ritcher paced the deck of the Andromeda. He considered his options, each looking more dismal than the last. He had three options: run his ships aground, turn back to Empryia and risk running out of fresh water and food, a three-month journey just to the nearest Imperial Colony, or continue on toward the N Y C harbor, regardless of the warning.

He figured it out soon enough.

"Ensign Lacroft, send the following message to the nearest N Y C ship and or station. Tell them that we will dock at that harbor for we are in need of food and freshwater. Also let them know that we will not engage in any form of hostilities toward or against the N Y C or any other beligerent fleet. Tell them that our interceptors shall venture no farther than ten miles from our convoy and that we will immediately and without warning attack any aircraft or ship that comes within that radius of our convoy."

He turned away knowing full well the danger he was putting his people into.

"Commodore Ritcher to Captain Pershing... Xavier are you there?"

A short time of static came through the comm waves, "Yes sir, I'm here."

"Launch your interceptors."

Ritcher turned around, "Let me hear it Ensign." climbing out of his chair he headed over toward the comm station.

Quickly reading the report he turned to the helm officer, "Ensign signal the convoy to starboard, fifteen degrees. Head to this Port Wisdom." He turned back to Lacroft, "Send a signal back to Commodore Prellian. Tell of our destination and speed of fifteen knots. Tell him I will continue not to allow ships or aircraft within a ten miles radius of this convoy until I near ten miles of the port. Tell him it is of national importance that I do not let harm fall to this convoy."

"Sir!" he heard the radarman shout, "There's a huge battle going on around here. I have fighters from both the mainland and the sea fighting over at least three different fleets. The coast is being heavily bombarded and... we're heading right into it."

"Keep me informed ensign." He turned and headed to the other communication's station aboard the bridge. He channeled to the Draco "Xavier, it's Wallace. Come in."

"It's Xavier, I hear you loud and clear. Go ahead." The deep voice came back.

"Xavier... I need you call back your two interceptors and get Third Squadron up. Have those sixteen fighters ready for anti-air strikes. Get your alert-five fighters ready for anti-shipping strikes. I can't damned well let anything happen to the Starlight and you know it and you also know I can't let the N Y C know what I'm carrying. At least not until I safely drop it."

"Roger that loud and clear Commodore," returning to military protocol, "As a word of suggestion sir, you should signal the Cassiopia and tell Anna what's going on."

"I will Xavier. Get your boys and girls up in the air, on the double." he cut the channel and signalled the other Battlecruiser of the convoy, the Black Prince Class Cassiopia. "Anna. Get your AAA systems online and tracking. We're heading to port but if you haven't noticed, there is a war going on. Launch your Sea Hawks and watch for submarines. If it comes within ten miles, blow it out of the water."

"Roger that, Sir. Will do."

The convoy, two Battlecruisers, one Escort Carrier, one heavy Merchant Ship, four light Merchant Ships, Three Destroyers and a Frigate all turned to Port Wisdom. The saw some fighters drawing in... They hoped to God they would turn around.

It will clearly be marked with the Aid colors of Red and White. It will be accompanied by a miltary escort that will make sure you reach international waters again. End communication.

Meanwhile, at IBG, the commander was informed of the recent diplomatic events, and hoped that the firing would cease before the beautiful, old city he guarded was reduced to rubble, and with it, prehaps, N Y C's hopes of peace.

Message to North Mack: As stated, we are unable to send much direct aid. Our fledgling space program is grounded, as we are diverting all resources available to defense. Offical Imperial Statement to NYC

We shall meet you at this island in which you speak of. As we do have some explaining to do, so do you. We at this time ask that you do-not engage in hostilities against our fleet, that matter is soon to be dealt with by us. Until things are resolved a blockade of your trade to the Bahamas will be in effect.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

On board the Imperial Class Battleship Sintax, a targeted transmission for rear admiral Chester. RA Chester along with his officers were surprised to find the orders they recieved. Arrest Admiral Howe and remove the fleet back to the intended position before this mess started.

Before long a team of 6 seals from the Battleship Sintax make there way by Zodiak to the flagship. Boarding under the guise of TS message for Admiral Howe, they make there way to his ready room. A simple knock on the door and they enter without guns pointed. Informing the Admiral he's under arrest for inciting illeagal war operations with Imperial Empire weapons of war, with cuffs placed on his wrist, they move him back to the Sintax and place him in a holding cell, while RA Chester moves to the flagship and begins moving the fleet back to international waters.

Commodore Prellian tapped his fingers as he read the latest dispatch from Empyria. He was getting annoyed. Highly annoyed. From first contact, these people had been treading on thin ice, practically defying N Y C law. As he stood looking out to sea he wondered if he should inform the president. As if he didn't have enough on his mind. His train of thought was interrupted by a stressed yet beautiful voice wafting through the air.
"Great Sundiata Keita's ghost, what in gods name is going on here? We have a possible diplomatic crises on our hands, and you didn't inform me?"
Striding towards him, wearing a gougeous green wraparound over her 6ft frame, was arguably the most beautiful woman in politics, anywhere. Born of a family that had settled in N Y C in the 1400s during a time of great Trans-Atlantic trade with the glorious African Kingdom of Mali, Angeline Musa was both the youngest and most brilliant governor that Wisdom Port Territory had ever had.
Her heels clicked on the stone as her long black hair waved wildly in the wind. The sun reflected off her smooth, dark skin. Her eyes were flashing in a way that would cause most people to cower. If he hadn't been such good friends with her, the commodore would have half expected a slap on the face. But violence wasn't Angeline's forte. Speaking was. Knowing what a wordsmith she was, Prellian would have perferred a slap.
She shoved a paper at him. "This is from Naval Command in the capital. They want me to decide a course of action. I came right over."
"With all due respect Angeline, This is a naval affair"
"A naval affair? A NAVAL AFFAIR? I am governor of an archipelago of 10 milion people, 5 million of whom live in this city. If this isn't my buisiness, it isn't anyones. Now, enough. What do you suggest?"
"Well, to be truthful, I think they're total BS artists. For starters, they acted unaware of the war, which was going on two days before their arrival. Second, No competent ship's captain allows himself to be critically low on supplies on the assumption he'll make the next port. Finally, they didn't register a cago list with us. If they planned stopping in N Y C with dangerous cargo they should have informed the government. I reccomend ordering them to submit a cargo list. Then, make their ship dock in the containment port on the far side of the Island, away from people. Run a full exam of the ship and let them unload if we see fit."
"Very well, but don't allow them any escorts. We'll send our own. If they don't agree, we can kindly inform they to try a different country. No one directs our Naval policies EXCEPT our navy." She turned to leave, thought better of it and turned around. "Oh, and Andrew?"
"Yes?"
"Stick them with the biggest damn tarrifs you can find."
He grinned. This was why he married her.

In the ready room of the Andromeda the seven captains of each ship and their commanders sat waiting for Wallace to speak. Captain A.J. Sacarsis of the Andromeda had left his Lieutenant Commander on the bridge of his ship while the high rankers sat in the Ready Room.

Anna piped up after the silence became highly oppressive, "Commodore? Are you all right, sir?"

Wallace looked up from the papers that had Prellian's response. He looked at the new orders he had just recieved from Atlantica Command and sighed. He shrugged and looked up at the assembled shipmasters, each ready and waiting for their commander's orders. Everything rides on me, he thought dearly, I guess this is what they pay me the big bucks for.

"Ladies and Gentlemen I don't know how to break this to you, but I will. The Starlight, if the rumor mills haven't reached you yet, is carrying reactor-grade uranium. Prellian offers us to bring the Starlight into port without any defense from our fleet.

"While the fighting seems to be calming down, I have yet to to believe that the fighting will not resume anytime soon. The Soviet Leader's Navy grants us safe harbor and supplies and the beginning of a good trade relationship. However, I was under orders to deliver this cargo to the N Y C or no where at all."

He looked around the room, sizing up each of his officer's courage and determination in the road ahead.

"As such, I have no choice but the scuttle the Starlight and her cargo onboard right here." He paused, waiting for some argument. There wasn't. His convoy's ships were behind him, all the way. "The twenty man crew of the Starlight will be taken aboard the Imperialis. All remaining food and fresh water aboard the ship will be dispersed around the convoy. We will take up the Soviet Leader's offer and head to their nearest port for resupply and then head back to Empryia."

A.J. turned to look at his Commodore, his puzzled look garnering Wallace's attention, "Sir... That sheilding is rather weak. Do you think it can hold up to the crushing depths at the bottom of the ocean?"

Wallace turned back and smiled at his Captain, "Well, I guess they'll just have to make enough money from tariffs to pay off any environmental problems... Right Captain?"

The captain snorted. Wallace looked to the rest of his staff, "Carry on, and God's Speed."

The last transport helicopter landed on the Andromeda. Ritcher stood there, watching the 20 inch guns of the Cassiopia landing shell after shell into the side of the merchant ship. A fire erupted, and she began to sink. The crew of the convoy's ships watched as once brilliant ship sank to her final resting place.

Someone came behind him, tapping him on the shoulder, "Sir. Where do you want us to put this huge crate? And what's up with the random skulls and -"

Richter just cut him off with a wave of his hand, "Put it in the cargo compartment, very far away from the foodstuffs."

The ensign saluted and went on about his duties.

Returning to the bridge, the Andromeda recieved and message, "Commodore Ritcher, this is Captain Tashihira of the Alegheny, Task Force Eighty-Six. We have supplies here with us plus two Escort Carriers and three frigates. We're going to join up with you soon. Should we rendezvous at a point on the way back the Empire?"

"No Captain," he said softly, "We'll remain here. I want to see how this will play out. Who knows the government might just make an ally out here and we might have to join in on this turkey shoot. Keep on Yellow Alert Captain. We'll see you when you get here."

Well, we are unable to help with military support at this time. We are, however, able to sell you a special weapon. The Mark III Tank.

now, you may wonder why we are selling you tanks for a naval battle. let me tell you. the Mark III is the not just a tank, but a HOVER TANK, allowing it to glide (well, okay, its 10 tons. its not going to glide. lets say, lumber) across the water and engage naval ships one-on-one.

The Mark III uses special, magneticly driven C4 bricks as ammuntion. Atomaticly reloaded by the Tank AI, the most advanced military AI. The Mark III AI controls the firing of the gun (when auto fire is enabled), the adjusting of the lift fans, course plotting, and a host of other stuff. only $17,000,000 a tank!

Trust me. your being given war-time prices. its a really good deal.
