By Journalist Petty Officer 1st Class Jonares

SOUTHFLT HQ (Port Hagras) - With the growing threats of hostilities revolving around the regions near Feline Catfish, today the headquarters of the Omzian Navy Southern Fleet, has announced that Task Force 93002 will be conducting a series of simulated-fire and live-fire exercises near Feline Catfish waters. Deployed initially in opposition against the prospect of a blockade against Feline Catfish, Task Foce 93002 is a 800 ship-strong force aimed to voice the opposition of the Omzian government in regards to the recent threats of hostilities against Feline Catfish.

"Diplomatically, we are definately not in full support of Feline Catfish," the commander of the task force, Adm. Jorges, said during a press conference on the flagship ONCS Turbulence. "However, we are also making it clear that the prospect of an invasion of Feline Catfish and the consequent violation of their sovereignity, at best, would spread negative influence on the world stage."

When asked whether the series of exercises will be aimed directly at the "anti-FC" forces, the Admiral has refused to either confirm or deny. However, he stated that "these series of simulated and live-fire exercises will evaluate the task force's capability to repel existing threats, and will also improve the readiness of the task force for possible hostile actions."

OOC - Omz, your fleet makes me wet >_<

We hope that Task Force 93002 will act with neutrality and or cordiality with the nearby 9th FAROH Expeditionary Force. It should be noted that any hostile vessels attacking against the Omzian fleet will be engaged by FAROH vessels.

OOC: Just a note: the Omzian government is not in full support for various reasons; however, we also have enough reasons to see the threat of an actual invasion of FC's homeland, along with a possible nuclear exchange, to be negative at best for the current time being. /OOC

Simulated Exercise: Act I
ONCS Archlight, Sarasvati Class CGN, Outer Escort Ring

"Repeat, this is a simulated exercise," a large speaker spoke with no apparant emotion as a small light flickered above on the ceiling. Sailors and officers passed through each other with the rhythmic ban ban ban on the metallic floor, wearing a share of helmets, battle uniforms, rank insignia, and medal ribbons. "This is a simulated exercise."

For Lieutenant Commander Hogares however, the nature of the exercise bore much stress on his body and psychological mind, as he faced a row of radiant lightworks and computer screens, all stationed against a dark, metallic surface in the rather melancholy dark room. Though such occasion is nothing but a simulated exercise of a series of firings of missiles, the thought of having his vessel selected for such was stressful enough to pose a concern. Why the heck am I chosen for this exercise out of..., he thought with a slight hint of frustration, so many ships assigned to picket and outer patrol duty!? However, he was not willing to let his reluctance or doubt shadow his excellent records and reputation. "Taylors," he called out to a short-postured man within his sight. "Give me some status on track one-one-five, and a TMA record."

"Yes sir," the sailor called out with obedience as he called out a series of words and other technical terms alike. Tapping on the curved keyboard just below his chest, the computer screen displayed a series of small graphics icon depicting targets and other contacts alike, all under a large "SIMULATE" title in a bold font. To both the sailor and the Lieutenant Commander, the days of dials and switches were gone for a long time, as a series of rhythmic dings streamed out of the small computer speakers. "Continue to track target on bearing zero-five-one, with passive track one-one-five. Targeting data from UAV number five and onboard passive systems indicates a group of small fast attack craft travelling at fourty knots."

Hongares looked on with a slight concern, surprised by the fact that the exercise has not been going according to his beliefs and perception. Originally believed that their ship's target would be a battlegroup, a sense of betrayal flew into his impatient mind, though he nevertheless buried his feelings under a paradoxically influx of self-control. After a split of a second however, the sailor called out once again, this time with an apparant show of excitement. "Sir, Weapons Coordination and the Captain has authorized us to assume that the target has been confirmed hostile, and that a warning broadcast has been sent. We are authorized to engage target with lethal force. We are to also prepare fire control and targeting data for the eight-inch onboard if missiles has failed to hit targets."

Lethal force... my rear end, he thought with the roll of his eyes. "Authorization to engage target has been received," he called out rhythmically, according to standard operation procedures. "We are cleared to engage target with missile. Assign targeting and track information to a total of six Shinma J models, standard procedure."

"Target parameters assigned!", another sailor announced orderly without hesitation as he manipulated around with the wide touchscreen in front of him, as a total of six small icons, each resembling a finned rocket, flashed with harmony. They represented the Shinma J model, one type within a family of missiles that had been a joint design between CSJ and Omzian engineers, though each bore the distinctive mark of Omzian manufacture. With a range of 150 kilometer and a warhead weighing 250kg, these subsonic arms of destruction - though not the mainstay of the missile batteries of the vessel - are enough to counter the threat of small fast attack craft with their unprecedented agility. "Launch cell has been readied for multiple launch, one salvo of six within maximum timeframe of thirty seconds, simulated."

"Ready for launch!", the commander announced as he spoke into the black microphone. Within an immeasurable split of time, the announcement rang out as the horns and klaxons displayed their loudness uniformally. "Give the launch command."

"Launch, launch, launch. Launch one," the sailor announced as he flipped over a small, red cover just beside the large touchscreen, before applying pressure onto a bright button labeled "Launch One". With each announcement of a launch, no more than three minutes later, the sailor cheerfully announced, "all six target has been hit. Lookout and Sonar has reported that explosions has been verified visually and acoustically."

Hongares smiled. "Well done, people. Simulated target has been hit, we are expecting mission-kills. The bridge has been informed. Keep working on your passive tracking skills, we don't want our presence to be known so quickly anyways, in times of combat."

As of right now, the whole of the 93002 are and will be maintaining our diplomatic support for Feline Catfish in regards to the threat of an invasion of FC within the region, in accordance to the wishes of the Omzian government. Though as of right now we have no intention to engage anti-FC factions with lethal force, our intentions are simple; however, any engagement or attacks against any Omzian assets within the area will be treated as hostile, and will be dealt accordingly.

Our best wishes and thanks for our Hogsweatian counterpart's compassion.

The speculation and accusations that implies that we are intending to initiate an armed conflict is simply false and without basis, as we are simply increasing our forces' stage of readiness in the midst of hostilities between the two sides. Though we have voiced our opposition against the anti-FC factions in regards to their desire to invade FC, we in no way support the use of armed conflict to solve said problem. If required or if the situation permits, where the anti-FC forces also agrees, we will actively engage in a peace process that will hopefully solve the crisis evolving around Feline Catfish. At the same time, we praise Findan's proactiveness and efforts at finding a peaceful approach to the crisis.

Simulated and live fire exercise will continue in the area, though we do not have any intent to take action against anyone in the region unless being attacked and provoked. However, in no way are we promoting the prospect of conflict, as we once again advise both sides to seek a calm solution to the bickerings and arguments at hand.

I'm not saying that you guys will start a war, but it is a message to all powers involved. I also agree we do need peace talks first. Rejected Nations has a thread dedicated to that.
