ooc: Lets face it, this whole thing has been blown waaaay out of proportion. So here's my solution:
Hogsweat and the ones defending his sovereignty, leave, just stop, don't get involved, back out of this.
Ankhmet and the ones invading him, same as above, back out, leave, don't get involved in this.
Let Feline Catfish have his nukes, without anyone invading him he won't have any cause to use them. Nobody invade him, nobody needed to defend him. Who cares about a ten million nation with nukes? Nobody gains anything from invading or defending him.
A remarkably simple solution to what is frankly, a problem that the II community let get out of hand. Everybody still involved seems to only be fighting because of the principal, ooc reasons are no reason to fight an IC war.

ooc: I doubt the coalition against catfish will give up unless of course there demands are met

As long as noobs and newbies keep attacking because of the whole bandwagon thing the defenders are not going to leave their posts.

If you cared to study law at all, you will find I have done nothing illegal. I have broken convention but that is a completely different thing, and in no way binding.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to tell the poor, in- or deflated egos seeing a need to show just how FUCKING BIG they are by way of stomping a 10 mio nation with ALL THEIR VERY IMPRESSIVE MIGHT that they look like poor suckers getting off over what is the equivalent of the US invading Luxembourg because it does have 'A few hundred armed men. It's funny that the entire anti-FC coalition is slamming him for not having any "RP etiquette" when they themselves show little of it. His aquisition of nuclear armaments can be, and should be, considered legal, as he bought them with money he has - it doesn't take a one hundred million population nation to aquire nuclear weapons, I'm sorry, but that's how it is, so live with it. However, when he uses them everyone starts screaming "what the hell!"

Look, the attack was legal. He has full RP priveliges of unleashing his nuclear armaments, whether you like it or not. Just because it fucked with your plans, pardon the language, is no reason to shun it - it's your fault, and your pressure, that he did it in the first place.

Some people argue that he was faced with no real danger. That's just complete bullshit. When you have fifteen nations parked outside your doorstep, regardless of their intentions in the next role play, the danger exists, because they are a potential danger to your sovereignty. Hell, if AMF just parks a fleet outside your waters you know something's up. The same thing goes for this particular instance.

So stop slamming him with OOC and take his nuclear weapons like men. And hey, if larger nations now want to kick your ass because you're all arrogant then take that too, or back down. It's as simple as that.

Because your "territorial waters" violate international law.Int- what? No such thing in NS. There is an UN Resolution regarding International Waters (Among other things), but it is, naturally, not binding for nations not in the UN.

If no law is there, it can't be broken.

And, perhaps you would prefer to force, say, me (The sea is mine until it is either 1. Midway to another nation, 2. The beginning of the Continental Shelf or 3. Borders an UN member, in which case I'm abusing said Laws of the Sea Resolution to my advantage) or The Most Glorious Hack (200 Nautical Miles National Waters, last I checked, anyway) to abide by your (Unextant) laws?

I mean, hey, if you're trying to enforce standards, try to enforce them on everyone, not just some midget nation, no? I'm sure it would make you feel proud and all.

You're the one that made it a debate thread by posting your opinion. You shouldn't expect everyone to agree with you, or agree with others posting their own opinion here. In fact, I have the right to voice my own opinion, but for the sake of cordiallity I'll just rant in some other thread.

I'm kinda glad I'm geographically limited now, though I think the Feline Catfish situation is just begging to become Nationstates Legendry. How often does a brand-new nation manage to get the attention of bigger, more powerful, older nations like AMF, Guffingford, etc? (on his side, and unsolicited!!)

How often does the mouse stand the Lions off, and draw the alleigance of a pack of T-rex?

I'd get involved IC'ly, but can't think of a single reason my own nation would. From the Audience, I'd say play it out-but have a strong OOC thread to help Mr. Feline Catfish over the rough spots, this situation could be turned into something really epic, or at least one for the record-books.
