Leafanistan will send the 12th Naval Expenditionary force consisting of one small escort carrier and 2 destroyers to escort the remainder of our merchant ships from the area. The force will stay outside this border and remain there making sure no Leafanistan ship carelessly wanders into this border and gets destroyed.

It is impossible to "patrol our borders" since if you would have to violate the sovereign rights and territorial waters of atleast six other nations in the process, your fleets will stand down from our regional borders or face destruction.

New Endenia is perfectly capable to defend oneself, should we find that whatever Dumpsterdam has done to be unstatisfactory to the survival of New Endenia, we will voice it out to our close allies OURSELVES. Black Tower Military Command has activated Naval Combat Groups Alpha 1 and Shadow 2 to patrol New Endenia waters and to ensure that the United Nations peacekeeping forces stay at their side of the borders. The Non Aligned States finds this trend of expansion of territorial waters with the threat of force to be disturbing, particularly regarding the aspect that it will destroy any fleet not of its own within the waters.

Given the recent improvement of trade ties that has occured between our nations, we have a reasonable fear for the safety for our merchant vessels as you have not specified what types of vessels will be fired upon. As such, we are left with little recourse but to assume you mean any vessel not of Dumpsterdamian or allied origin, regardless of purpose.

Of course, if you mean only military vessels, then the whole point is rendered moot as our armed forces are strictly regulated to within our borders only. However, if you mean to seal off the borders from all manner of non-allied vessels, then we have no choice but to recall our merchant vessels from your waters and announce the withdrawal of any assets belonging to us within Dumpsterdamian territory.

We await your response.

The Ineffable Empire will not permit any trespassing in our territorial waters. We consider the donation of said muffin basket as a gesture of hatchet-burying. We're not quite sure where said hatchet is, or where it should be buried, nor even how giving you a muffin basket will dig a hole, throw a hatchet in, and then refill said hole with dirt, but we are willing to give it a shot anyway.

The Dumpsterdamian rowing boat was rowing along nicely. All around, the sea was calm. A seagull was sitting camly upon the water. Suddenly, it squawked loudly, and flew off. The rower looked at it a bit puzzled, but continued rowing. The sea grew slightly choppier, small waves began crashing into his boat from behind. But there wasn't a whisper of wind.
Had he looked behind, he would have seen the tip of an Ineffable Domination class stealth submarine rearing up from out the depths. But he didn't need to do that to see the surfacing sub. It had come up right beneath him, and in no time at all his rowing boat was beached upon the hull of the warship.
He may have been puzzled, he may not have been. This narrator doesn't know. He does know, however, that shortly afterwards a hatch opened in the hull of the submarine.
A man climbed out. He was dressed in what appeared to be a traditional boating costume; white trousers, white shirt, blue blazer with gold buttons, white captain's cap. Upon his badge was emblazoned a logo. As he approached the man in the rowing boat, it became clear that this logo was Steve (http://aa.1asphost.com/AllyG/steve.jpg), Official Spokesmuffin of Ineffable Friendly Muffin Corporation (http://s6.invisionfree.com/International_Mall/index.php?showtopic=1731). It was also clear that he was carrying the muffin basket, to be delivered to Dumpsterdam.
He handed this to the man in the rowing boat, doffed his cap in friendly recognition, and went back into the hatch.
A few moments passed, and the rowing boat was once more afloat in international waters.

We have had our starships search from orbit. However, all we have been able to determine is that it is not lying above ground anywhere or, if it is, it is indoors. We also propose that nuking beaches will increase our search effeciency, by fusing the sand grains to glass, which we can than peer through to find the hatchet? We suggest all beach combers duck during the process. Of course, then we will have to dig through glass to extract the hatchet to properly bury it, but we assume this will still be quicker than a manual search of the planet.

OOC: Ah, then it becomes clear. Although it should be pointed out that our merchant vessels are habitually outfitted with small arms and a security detachment due to the problem of increased piracy in both national and international waters.

Nothing bigger than small calibre machine gun emplacements due to the favored tactics of pirates to use small but fast raider boats to approach and board the ships. Good enough to fend off the typical pirates but nothing particularly threatening against other nations.

As for being enemies, I don't recall declaring war on anyone so far, much less taking offensive maneouvers unless you consider moving against rogue elements (AWOL fruitcake battleship captains) to be that.

OoC: Just a bit of a security heads-up, Dumpsterdam does not posses tactical nuclear weapons, nor does it posses biological or chemical WMD's.

I have only have strategic nuclear weapons, so unless I feel like nuking my entire region I'm not gona sling a WMD at invading fleets.

Oh and NAS, the Royal Merchant Navy considers arming its freighters up to cruiser class fire-power and armour to be standard.

Each fleet consists of one carrier each, three crusiers each, six destroyers each, four attack subs each, and two missile subs each.
I have set them on route to the affected region.

Furthermore we would like to congradulate the Empire of Dumpsterdam on secureing not only their territorial waters but in a sense opening up a further protected area for merchants who wish to avoid any such possible piracy or harm from those who would wish to impose on free trade in international waters.

If only other nations took such measures the seas would most likely be a much safer place for trade.

IC: Anyway, the newest, (and smallest) fleet of the Riconiaan navy, the 3rd Battleship Group, is being deployed (for the first time) to make sure our own Riconiaan merchant ships don't wander in on your "100nm" territorial waters, and to make sure other nations' merchant ships don't enter this dangerous area. BTW: The 3rd battleship group consists of 4x Iowa class Battleships, 2x Destroyers, 3x attack subs, and 1x missle sub.

This fleet will only be in the area for two days to make sure that Riconiaan merchant vessels know the bounderies. This fleet posses NO threat whatsoever to Dumsterdam or it's allies.

No, I mean it in a peacefull manor. The fleet will only be there 2 days, and then turn back to San Juan Naval Base where you hopefully won't see it again.

Uhm, don't want to break it to you, but you have a serious lack of escorts, so if I did decide to attack you your battleships would be sitting ducks without a decent ASW and AA picketline to pick out my subs and aircraft before they get into firing range.

OOC: Given the lack of any indication as to the IC/OOC nature of this comment I'm going to reply to it as though you meant it in character.

We are surprised at the ignorance of Riconiaa's government who are claiming that their fleet of military vessels pose no threat to Dumpsterstan interests regardless of the fact that these vessels are of a military nature and intend to "make sure other nations' merchant ships don't enter this dangerous area", suggesting the possibility of a blockade of some sort.

It is hard to beleive that a fleet which is packing four Iowa Battleships is intending to arrive close to the Dumpsterstan waters just to turn around and head back after arriving... that such a ship heavy fleet is of not threat to Dumpsterstan merchants.

The poor constuction of the fleet itself suggests that their mission isn't to be a prolonged mission as any reasonable naval force could take advantage of the lack of proper escorts around such valuable ships... however the fact there are so many large military ships easily provides a threat to non-military Dumpsterstan vessels and Dumpsterstan economic interests.

Eitherway, Iuthia conciders these actions wasteful at best, and foolishly dangerous at worse. We would advise that you scrap you're plans to "peacefully" turn ships around with a fleet of four battleships.

We, as the Iuthian goverment most probably has done the same, rummaged around our intell files concerning Riconiaa.

Their fleet, although capital ship strong, posses no threat to either coastal regions nor shipping as the Northern Fleet is keeping a tight watch on them.
Due to the fact that you seem to like a NATO aproach to these kind of conflicts we will kindly ask the Riconiaans to withdraw their fleet once again, we would be very hesitant to destroy them should they make a foolish mistake.

That, and we would like to point out to the Iuthians, that the Empire's name, has and always will be written in this form: Dumpsterdam.

Destroyers, frigattes and to lesser extend, cruisers are all escorts classes, one more effective then the other but you'll have to figure that out by yourself. I know several realy good storefronts, but unfortunatly, none of them(Portland Ironworks; Sarzonia)(Imperial Praetonian Shipyards; Praetonia)(???; Isselmere, sorry forgot the name)(Royal Tallarnian Dockyards; Dumpsterdam) will sell to you, because A) the FC conflict and B) your acting rather agressivly against me.
