OOC: Non-Human Modern Nations

Are there any aside from me?
To be honest Ive only seen a few, and they were jokes. One guy said he had a nation of chickens and planned to kill and touture all humans...I sort of ignored him :P
Aside from that...I know of Vrak, but Im not to sure about his...walrusishness :P
OOC: Ah, thank you for mentioning me. Yes indeed, my nation has walruses in it but they make up 5% of the total population while the rest are human. Mind you, in the FKC itself there are quite a few non-human creatures residing within it. And quite a few states have substantial non-human populations.
I'm not familiar with the Resurgent Dream, but I think that nation is full of a variety of creatures and not any group holds a majority of the population. I certainly could be wrong about that.
Hell Bovines is made up of cows if I recall correctly. There are others as well. I think there is a non-human alliance on wiki.

NP, Vrak. I had heard of you and did a search on your name ;)
Well, its nice to see that nobody just ignores them, I was expecting lots of godmod-talking.

I once considered using a race of my own imagination, but decided against it for the very reason you were worried :/. So I for one wouldn't ignore them, unless, I suppose, if you tried to pass them off as a nation of Supermen or something...

OOC:
Most of my population is human, however I maintain a sizable community of these wonderful creatures called Freestian Vampires, nice little things, along with quite a few cross-breeds.
I use them as troops, very strong, can take quite a bit of damage, but I have few of them so it evens out. Tis all fun.

I'm future Tech, but my entire nation consists of slivers from Magic:the Gathering. The only hard thing is describing them to people who have never seen them before. Well, perhaps 10% are humanoids.

I'm a strange thing. Yae see I'm technically human except that we're somewhat cannibalistic, produce toxins in our own bodies that make stronger for a limited period of time (I actually thought up a good reason for it so nobody can really say it's a godmod plus it only lasts a bit), and we all have jittery as hell senses making us hard to sneak up on.
Oh and many of us are pain resistant...........to an extent. We don't usually feel minor things and bruises heal quickly and all. But if yae shoot one he's down. But if yae hit him with a club he's gonna keep coming.

My nation has four distinct sentient species in it, and not one of them is human. Although I will RP them as being roughly equivalent in capabilities to MT, maybe even less so in one case, I doubt many will accept them.
If it makes you feel better, Trolsk is unbenouwnst to many an Elven Empire. Not little santa's dwarfs, but full blown High Elf style elves, but without the pouncy goody-goody attitude and a little more grey in the personality.

Hey, maybe we can have a war some time :)
Damn snooty Elves :p

I think of my country as non-human, but I try not to be too obnoxious about it. I like the idea of non-human modern tech nations in some contexts. I'm rather worried some people might not like the idea, though.

Slivers, why didn't I think of that, can I hire some as mercs?(sliver queen plus victual sliver is a deadly combo, acidic sliver is another good combo for the queen.) I had a deck of just slivers and legends, it kicked ass, especially when I got out the original elder dragon legends, you know Arkadies Sabbath, Palladia Mors, Chromium, Vae Vitus Asmadi, and Nikel Bolas, 7\7 creatures with excessive firepower, I loved it.

Like Tolkiens Silmarillion elves or like his later elves?
Speaking of magic the Gathering, what about Avens? For any Medieval/Fantasy era based RPs, I may just make Trolsk have a minority population of Avens within the mountains in the centre of the Empire.

Silmarillion Elves, at the ery begining, because they were as fallible as humans, and not so pouncy and arrogant about their power.

What about Moggs(not moogles), or hell, what about the various seafolk species(Ghalenas people, pearl trident, the crab dudes(don't remember what they're called),hell, even the saprazzins and the various thakalos people could qualify) or maybe the Cho-Arrim and the Kor and the Vec, they're all non-human but still kick ass.

kick ass, remind me not to piss you off, at least not without some Kavu handy, or maybe Slivers.
I'll second every one of them, Mini-type dude. However, they can't really fit in with the Trolskian environment. 2 of the contries are landlocked between mountainous regions, another landlocked in plains, and the rest costal on rather bitterly cold northern waters. Avens and Elves are the only ones that would be remotly capable of surviving the harsh tundra conditions, I feel. Besides, having too many complicates things for your actual armies.

Well... -Rubs back of head.- Heh. I guess being a Silmarrilion style Even Empire has some benefits..

I'll bet that the Cho-Arrim would be fine on your plains, or the Keldons in the mountainous areas or the coast.

Yeah, but they'll be a small, almost insignificant minority, compared to population levels of Avens and Elves. They'll be in refference, though.

Well since you use elves from back when elves were manly and men were elfy, yeah there are some adevantages, which is why I'd need Kavu or Slivers, or come to think of it, the Keldons would fit pretty well as the humans from the silmarillion, big, bad, and friendly with the kick-ass elves. Thats it, my populationm is officially Keldon, my national motto is now Prove it!
Mwahahaha! Very well. Trolsk welcomes the Kavu race into the International fold.

Keldons dude, Kavu are the big lizard thingies.
Very well, we welcome an Alliance with your peoples. Consdering done and writ. We also welcome you to establish an Embassy within our new Capital, Edona, within the western Edoland country of the Empire.
My bad, misread. The Keldons then.

In fact, speaking of MTG whos up for an Invasion by phyrexia? Come on it'll be fun, fantasy tech and horrible monsters, whats not to like?
Phyrexia Invasion sounds good. Ok, how about this for a situaton. Phyrexia invade your nation, Trolsk steps in and aids you, and everyone else can take sides around that plot. =)

I was thinking along the lines of the dominarian conflict. But thats actually a good idea, I'll make the thread now.

We have a nice majority of Dwarves in our modern-tech nation, and there has been at least one half-hobbit (a half-'fling ;) ) and one elf, plus one soon-to-be vampire. Mostly these are used for Sports RPs, but the Dwarves do tend to creep into regular RPs.
All of the Xeraphian Empire's citizens are human, with the exception of a small population ( 712 ) of Vampires who are valued citizens as well.
Dur the war with the Empire of Koth, Xeraph liberated a small island off the western coast of our continent, AON. The island was populated by elves and dwarves, who pretty much kept to themselves, as they stil do.
Also, the Xeraphian Space League. which has settled a good portion of the Typhon Expanse in the Andromeda Galaxy, has happened upon a few different races. We allow them to continue with their civilization as long as they pose us no threat.

I'm basically modern tech, and the D.G.s are most certainly not human. I'm probably actually a bit past modern, though... it's hard to be certain, because D.G. technology developed along somewhat different lines than human tech did. Being gophers, they tended to focus on underground stuff and miniaturized equipment. For example, I've got virtually no aircraft, but quite an extensive subway system.
