OoC: I'm going to be a little more ambitious here. I'm not too happy about resorting to a war RP to get some involvement, but I hope maybe that my nation's "character" might bring something new about here. Some stuff has changed since my first two RP's, if anyone paid attention to them. First, people will have actual names instead of occupational designations. Second, there will be no more "equivalent"-tech, that is, all tech used will be strictly modern. The previous two RP's are otherwise relevant to this one, if you find that relevance necessary in your participation. They were titled Victory! Victory! Victory! and Defeating the Flesh should you desire to read them. They were brief, but did a fairly good job (I think) of establishing my nation's aforementioned "character."
May the proverbial show mount the metaphorical road...

1138 Hours, Telescreen General Broadcast:
A harsh, brassy female voice...
Attention! Attention please. Please stand by for an important announcement from the Ministry of Peace. This announcement is very important, and it is vital that all citizens pay close attention to it.
A chiseled face, more stone than man, with bright eyes and a voice deep with gravelly menace...
Throughout human history, there have been some individuals who cannot accept order. The hierarchy of society which is necessary for human advancement may not be too their liking, or they may simply be misanthropic, but these individuals, these rebels, seek to disrupt the order of things and destroy the machinery of progress. I am most disturbed to have to say that such a rebel exists now in this nation.
Merely three hours ago, a truck carrying munitions and weaponry to the Fort Camaraderie training facility on Shipyard Three broke contact with all Ministry of Peace agencies and turned into an unmonitored zone. Police helicopters were quickly dispatched to locate the missing vehicle, only to discover it two hours later, with its driver and cargo missing. A foot sweep of this unmonitored zone is now underway, but we fear it may already be too late. We are uncertain of the rebellion's numbers or organization, but we do know that they now possess hundreds of rifles, grenades, and ammunition with which to arm their terrorist forces. Quarantine has been declared on Shipyard Three, in the hopes that this countersocial movement can be contained.
The Ministry of Peace is currently investigating and awaiting further information before making a decision as to how to proceed. Please report any suspicious activity with more vigilance than usual - you may save a life, and it may be your own.
A fanfare, some words of encouragement, the broadcast ends.
-------------------------------------
The sun is already just a fingernail as Marcus Leblanc reaches the edge of this unmonitored zone. There is no physical marker or break in the woods, only a peculiar arrangement of trees that Marcus has memorized that lets him know there are microphones within each overhanging oak branch, and that caution for him -- and his companions -- is now doubly important. One squeals, and another returns the noise: a distraction they call it. Whoever might be listening to the mics on the other end will hopefully discount the following passage as that of a passing herd of animals -- in this case wild pigs of some sort.
They begin the run, an awkward run, at rhythmless pace that the animal callers assure everyone will discount in the minds of the listeners the possibility of a human crossing. They run, twelve men, laden heavily with armament and explosive, and for the first time in their lives, they run freely.

The recent rebel treat in your country has been in the news for several days, especially because Camewottian citizens are staying on our base in your land.
As you know however, we have yet to install military units in that base, but should you need our help, we will be there.

1651 Hours, Telescreen General Broadcast
Long, high tone for about thirty seconds
A harsh, brassy female voice...
All citizens, your attention, please! The following announcement is of the utmost importance!
A formless, bespectacled man in a plain, black suit with a soothing monotone voice...
As of 1630 hours today, the Republic of Total Victory is officially in a state of emergency. The report we have is disturbing, but all citizens should be comforted by the knowledge that the full resources of the state are being mobilized to rectify this increasingly dangerous situation.
At 1100, an armory on the southern end of Shipyard Three came under assault by a heavily armed force of unknown origin. Despite valiant resistance on the part of the garrison, they were slaughtered and overrun by countercivilizational terrorists. The armory was stripped of much of its contents, including rifles, machine guns, grenades, rockets, and gasoline, as well as a number of combat and transport vehicles. The Ministry of Peace is still determining how much of the equipment has been taken, but they indicate that a significant portion of the armory was lost in this horrific raid.
In response, the Eleventh and Forty-First Infantry Brigades are mobilizing for counterterrorist operations on Shipyard Three. The Ninth Bomber Wing has been activated to support this effort. Be vigilant, citizens, but do not fear! The Republic shall face down its adversaries, and, as always, achieve total victory...

Camewot: I don't think we ever signed an official NAP or MPP... you just have a military base on our soil... Unless it was implied?
Today's Vocabulary Lesson:
In no particular order...
Minipax - (colloquial) Ministry of Peace
Midnight Brigade - (colloquial) Medium/Short Range Ballistic Missiles, so called because launch trucks generally move and fire at night. Warheads are usually conventional.
Airstrip Two - Small island at the southwestern end of the Total Victory chain... contains an airstrip and a city, primarily devoted to supporting the operations on the airstrip.
Shipyard Three - Larger island towards the center of the chain, containing a large harbor with massive shipbuilding facilities and several armories throughout the island for the use of the Victorian Navy.
Central One- Largest island, containing Municipality One, capital of Total Victory (and Municipality-4, Camewot), maintaining mostly government infrastructure, but some military and civilian factories as well.

Red Tide2

OOC:Time for a visit from the HOA...
IC:The Red Tide Mafia(more often referred to as the Heart of Armaggeddon) had a ton of information relating to rebbellions, terrorists, and civil wars occuring every day. The leader of the HOA, a figure known only as 'The Boss', had spies inside even his own organization. The only organization(well... 2 organizations) that were impossible to penetrate were the Red Tide Military and The Red Tide Consortium.
He already knew where the rebels were thanks to a plethora of evidence and the excellent guess work he was so well known for.
Top Secret Message to the Total Victory Freedom Fighters
"We represent the discreet supply buisness in the nation of Red Tide and several dozen war zones around the world. If you can afford it we will sell you our wares, tanks, guns, ammo, APCs, even some Assualt Helicopters we have. We await your response."

The Amen-Re Network offers it's support in this troubling time. We see your people have a strong leader, and we admire that. We offer you the aid of a cell of our network from a kneighbouring country. if you will allow them in, we will help you counter this threat and take your country's name off the list of enemies of the Kheperi-Re-Atum.

Your offer of military support is most welcome in this disrupted time. Our limited resources may not be sufficient to hold our nation in coherence and neutralize these terror-mongers without a crucible of fire and blood. The sovereign government of Camewot therefore has the permission to deploy military forces to Municipality Four on Central One, which may then be deployed to Shipyard Three to cooperate in the elimination of one of the most terrifying threats our nation has ever faced. The Lady Victory herself has given a solemn pledge that it will be her foremost goal to ensure that no foreigner is harmed in this war, and that the greatest part of the sacrifice of battle should fall upon our own soldiers, in the defense of our own nation.

Sweep of unmonitored zone complete. Several encampments located, all abandoned for some time. Heavily camoflauged, high-level spy plane overflies don't capture them. Also located tunnels, intricate network, also apparently abandoned. Tunnels contained tanks for gasoline and propane storage, plumbing... evidence of heavy and entrenched infrastructure. It is my opinion that the rebellion is much farther along than initially suspected. Advise preventative measures be taken in all sectors.
----------------------------------------------------
Leblanc turned over the yellowed strip of paper in his hands. The scant lighting in the deepest regions of the catacombs makes for sore eyes, but the message is clear enough. Weapons, all the supplies this nascent rebellion desperately needed, as long as he could pay for it. But with what? And to whom, exactly, was he supposed to give the cash he didn't have?
It was maybe a bit frightening, as well, to learn that an organization like Hearts of Armageddon, in the far off land of Red Tide2, had so successfully infiltrated the rebellion as to give him this dispatch, was it not then feasible to imagine that the thought-police could do the same? Certainly they were closer... and their tactics not much different from any mafia...
"What do you think, Marc?" asked Gerard Athee, a man with a military mind as sharp as his nose.
"I think we need money," said Marcus, crumpling the paper and throwing it behind him, "or these guys won't help much... I guess we have enough materiel to tide us over for now."
"Rifles and grenades aren't going to hold out forever, even the tanks won't do much good when they send a bomber armada to vaporize us. We must have something..."

The sense of urgency in the air carries with it a new note. It is no longer an optimistic electric blue like in the first days, but a lower yellower note. A note of fear, of reality, as the last few trucks are crammed with explosives, ammunition, and fuel. It is as though the rebels are afraid that at any moment, the entire eleventh brigade will come crashing down on them.
And they very well might, thinks Athee, checking for the third time that the magazines for his submachine gun are topped off, just in case. The eleventh brigade, he knows, is somewhere on the island, and has been moving quickly, trying to secure as many armories as possible to keep their precious war supplies out of rebel hands. Who knows where they'll decide to secure next? It could easily enough be this base, though there were a few larger stockpiles that they'd probably be more interested in keeping out of rebel hands than this tiny garrison in an isolated fortress opposite most of the population centers.
That garrison, however, had fought fiercely for every closet and corridor of this base, costing Athee twenty-three men and women. Their bodies had already been loaded onto one of the trucks, where they'd be taken to one of the tunnel complexes for a modest burial. Their equipment was too valuable to waste in making a shrine: it would be given to the hundreds of eager rebels still unarmed along with the loot those twenty-three martyrs had earned.
"Jerry!" cries an excited voice, "Jerry!"
Athee leaps out of the passenger seat of the idling pickup truck, calls out: "What's up?"
The man, a lean and coarse figure of thirty-seven, waves his Fabory-762 in the air, "Come and see!"
Athee follows to a huddle of soldiers over an open crate, and though he has no real understanding of the meaning of the words, he finds it suddenly appropriate to utter... "Dear God..." He looks at the soldiers, "We're taking this... they've only got like three of these... we're taking it."
Athee knows he had found the payment Leblanc will need to buy all the supplies to keep the rebellion alive for months... maybe even a year or two...
For in that crate, fiercely guarded by an isolated garrison on Shipyard Three, is a two hundred and fifty kiloton nuclear warhead.
------------------------------------------------
Today's Vocabulary Lesson
Fabory-762 - Designation for Fabricators for Victory's 7.62 mm semiautomatic rifle, the standard armament for most of Total Victory's infantry. While most nations have opted for the development of the assault rifle, the Ministry of Peace instead decided to devote research man-hours to the creation of increasingly efficient and reliable semiautomatics. The Fabory-762 reflects those man-hours, being surprisingly lightweight, comfortable, and simple to operate and clean. Accuracy is decent, and the action is generally reliable, with jams primarily arising due to deficient ammunition. These are easily cleared but extremely inconvenient in a firefight nonetheless. It is a sturdy weapon, and use with a bayonet is unlikely to damage the Fabory-762 permanently, though prolonged and intense hand-to-hand combat has occasionally caused the weapon to snap in two between the butt and grip of the rifle.

Total Victory, 4AM
The ships approached Municipality-4, all was quiet in the early morning.
Nothing seemed like this country was under heavy pressure from a terrorist, possible rebel group. Camewot had had its share of terrorism, and was well trained to respond it. However, this was one of the first times the troops would actually eliminate a treat outside Camewot.
Total Victory, 6AM
The ships docked and started unloading, Camewottian logistics staff had already put up a camp in advance.
Total Victory, 7AM
General Sijmens walked up to the Municipality-4's governmental building.
Goodday gentlemen, we are the Camewottian force. We have had no intelligence so far. Is there any information known about this treat?
