OOC: Not at all, in fact, mine is going to be an elf. Fantasy races and magic allowed, but not too over the top.

Di'Khevan was walking down the main road when his nose twitched, he could smell people and where there were people there were towns and where there were towns there would be food and maybe something fun to do. He decided to head to the town.

ooc: description of Di'Khevan: medium height, blue hair, yellow eyes with cat style pupil, cat type ears on top of head and claws instead of fingernails
if you've ever seen the show Inuyasha, he looks like Inuyasha with the stated modifications.

OOC - Hay, you kept it in Christac. Thanks lol. Can I use the same start post as last time to describe the scene and my guy?

OOC - Going to do it anyway, lol. complain later and I will delete if you want.

IC - A rough man with long black hair rode a white horse down a winding path leading to Christiat, the capital of Christac, he stopped for a moment and looked upwards. The moon shone down, lighting up the path in front of him. It shone down on the tall buildings in the distance and through the smoke coming from the chimneys of the settlement. He would have smiled at the sight, but he had not done so for a long time.

Saerat was this mans name. He was a warrior still loyal to the old king of Christac, but he would not spread this around for now.

As he continued the old palace came in sight through the towers on the battlements. He took in a long breath and his mind was cast back, long ago...

He could still hear the screams in his head.

"No! Not my son! Anyone else! no!" "They have taken the wall!" "Help us, someone help us!"

He shook his head violently, and grunted, now was not the time to think of that, he had a job to do and an old friend to meet up with. He glanced one more time back at the path traveled down and approached the guard on duty.

"Open these gates" he said loudly

"And who might you be" the guard asked back

"I said, open these gates" Saerat said, now reaching behind his back to his sword, if he should need it.

He was not going to take this from some weak guard.

The guard seeing this, backed off a bit, he looked a bit shocked. Someone was actually prepared to challenge the authority of one of the king’s men?

"I will let you past now, but if you cause any trouble, I will..." He broke off, Saerat had taken his sword out and was swinging it into the ground.

"You will do what?"

The guard did not answer, he simply gave the signal for the gate to open and beckoned Saerat to go past.

Saerat slowly put his sword away and entered...

Saerat got off his horse the other side of the gate. This city has changed a lot he thought to himself. Shouts echoed through the streets, people selling wears, and what looked to be a circus in town. Jugglers and fire eaters were walking all over the place.

Saerat was not the least bit interested in entertainment, he always thought it to be a waste of money and something done to try and get peoples minds off the reality of the state the country was in. He started walking the path he had walked over 20 years ago, towards the inn he had known so well.

As he walked he could sense people staring at him. And he could not blame them;

His long black cloak scraped along the ground as he walked, attached to a firm breast plate, part of a full coat of armor, all of which were old and had rust forming in the corners. But he knew what would be turning the most heads. The shield on his back clearly shone with the symbol of the old king. One symbol which everyone remembers but no one has seen for years.

Saerat turned round a corner into a group of jugglers, he grunted an apology for knocking into one of them, making her drop her clubs.

He moved on before she had finished picking them up, he was late for meeting his friend, and was not going to let something small like manners get in the way.

He was close to the pub now anyway. He walked up to the door and pushed it open, people stared round, but he ignored them. Sitting at the bar he saw his friend and started walking to him.

"Does it look like I have a sword? Swords are for pikers." Di'Khevan said to the guard.

ooc: he just looks physically like Inuyasha, nothing else the same.

Di'Khevan decided not to favour the guard with a closed-lipped smile, revealing his fangs to the guard as he walked into the town, and decided to go to the tavern to see if he could find anything interesting to do.

OOC: Yes, it's fine, I don't really care. I'm not going to though.

IC: Aramil looked over his staff at the newcomer to the pub. Lousy human establishment, they have no sense of hygiene, He thought. I would have taken at least some water, but even that tasted foul. Back to the business at hand, he studied the newcomer. This man is loyal to the old king, Aramil realized with a start. He appeared to be conversing with someone else, but Aramil could not hear and could not risk a spell in this crowded place. He quietly whispered to a large grey falcon perched on his shoulder, who promptly flew off and settled on the counter near the knight with barely a sound. Aramil settled down to wait and observe this pair, they might aid him in his quest.

OOC: Aramil is a tall and slender elf, with flowing silver robes and a tall black staff topped with a mysterious jewel. He has black hair and unfathomable green eyes. More to come on his quest at a later point.

Di'Khevan wandered into the tavern, keen eyes seeing a large bird flying to land next to a man in armour, an elf who had the look of a mage and assorted men drinking, talking and smoking. He covered his nose to help muffle the rank oder of unwashed people, decaying food and smoke. With his other hand he tied his blue hair back and sat down in a corner.

Aramil was surprised when he suddenly saw a bizarre creature walk into the bar. It was one of the strangest things he had ever seen, and that was certainly saying something. However, he returned to mainly observing the knight, while surreptitiously glancing at the half-demon every once and a while to see what he was up to.

Saerat sat next to his friend and began talking; they looked up to make sure no one was listening every now and then.

"So why have you called me here" Saerat said

"I have recently discovered an object you will find interesting" his friend said back.

"And you could not send a messenger why?"

"You would want to have me hand it to you in person believe me"

Saerat's friend suddenly draw his sword, causing Saerat to jump back and reach for his own "What in the gods names are you doing?

"Calm down and look"

Saerat looked down at the blade and saw the familiar lettering

Audentes fortuna juvat (OOC - Fortune favours the bold)

He shuddered and stared then looked up to see a bird staring, what's this?

Di'Khevan saw the 'knight' flinch when his friend partially drew his sword, but calmed down when he read some text upon the blade. "Curious and curiouser." He muttered to himself, eyes catching the torch light and appearing to burst a flame before fading back to normal appearence.

Aramil started, as he saw the knight's friend unsheath a glittering and well-crafted sword. He would hear the full report from his falcon familiar, Aurian, later, and so forced himself to wait.

Saerat looked firmly at his friend "Where, how, when...?"

"That will have to wait for later my friend. I fear that I have spent too long in this city already. If I have found this, they will not be far behind me. They have been looking for a long time and we both know they would have sensed it coming to the surface and sent someone"

Saerat agreed and both men started heading to the door. Saerat could not help feeling that they were being watched.

Aramil moved quickly to the door also, his falcon coming to rest on his arm. "Sir Knight, I believe that we have something in common. I obviously cannot go into detail here, but I think this will convince you." Out of his voluminous sleeve, Aramil pulled a bronze pendant, emblazoned with the same symbol on Saerat's shield- the emblem of the Old King. Aramil gazed levelly at the knight, and waited for his response.

Di'Khevan seeing the funny elf and bird follow after the 'knight' and his companion, decided to follow them and see if they would provide any amusement, also happy to have a reason to leave the rank tavern.

As I said before, this is hardly the place to talk of such pressing matters," said Aramil, casting a glance around the dilapidated and dank tavern. "Perhaps it would be wise for us to go to somewhere out of the way. Oh, and I might also suggest that you cover up your shield. Even though I approve of your sentiments, it would not be good for you to be captured by the Secret Police this early on."

Saerat walked out the tavern with his old friend and the stranger. It was raining quite strongly, and the jugglers on the street were running for cover. Saerat threw his cloak over his shield as he looked up.

He saw several knights on horseback flying through the street, not caring if they knocked people over in their path. They went by and stared at Saerat and his companions, but did not stop. They were heading towards the castle in the distance.

Di'Khevan followed after the elf and knight, trying to hear the conversation, when he heard the comment about 'secret police' he grinned. This conversation had just got interesting.

Aramil uttered a minor convocation, and as rain came down, it splattered to the sides around him. "I wonder who those knights are," Aramil remarked to Saerat. "I know a place where we can have quite a bit of privacy, if you will follow me. Unless you have a place which you think is more suited for the things we will discuss. Of course, you will want to know how I got this pendant." Aramil did not notice the odd creature that was following them.

OOC: Actually, it's three people. Or four, if you count Aramil's familiar.

IC: "I agree," Aramil said. "I can lead you to a secret place. However, we will have to get going. Come on!" Aramil set off at a brisk pace, heading toward the park. (OOC: I hope there is a park in Christiac!)

OOC: Well, I was hoping for a response from Christac, but I already left this thread too long and it seems dead.

IC: Aramil strode up to the tree, and glanced around to see if anyone was watching. This was really merely a precautionary measure, as it was pouring rain and most pedestrians were indoors. He uttered an incantation, and walked-straight through the bushes. His head poked out through the bush, leaving no inordinate rustle, and he said, "Quick! Come in out of the rain! We don't have much time."
