After closly following with great interest in recent events regrading Feline Catfish and their resistance to critisim against them obtaining nuclear weapons. Recent events have sadly led to conflict but FC have clearly shown the world that small nations are able to have nuclear weapons, the recent events have propted the Ustian Defence Commitee (UDC) to begin drafting plans for buying nuclear weapons from other nations and creating our own arsenal light of these inspiring events.


The UDC cast a vote in the House of Commons. The majority of the vote was FOR the Nuclear Defence paper then it was again past through the House of Lords where the vote FOR won again. USTIO polictically are able to set a nuclear program. However, after recent events, USTIO wishes to avoid stiring such military and polictal unrest. We are a small coastal nation with no real way of defending ourselves. Having a nuclear arsenal will put on the map and make us feal relativly safe.

FC have demonstrated that they are, as are many many other small nations, able to buy;make; mantain and ultimitly be trusted with a nuclear arsenal and USTIO can see no reason why USTIO can't have nuclear weapons.

When the drafts have been completed over completion of buying nuclear missles and submarines, USTIO will be declared a nuclear power.

I discourage the use of building nuclear weapons. They really are useless. My nation currently has no nuclear weapons and we've been around for a while. Instead we are building up our forces. You don't need nuclear weapons to stay safe, instead ask for allies. I will be your ally if you give up your nuclear arms request and instead use them for peaceful, energy purposes. Also a nation such as yourself will find that having nuclear weapons will drain your economy and budget more than an entire army you possibly could field. I suggest you go with buying arms (I will donate money to you) and get allies. These will cost far less (probably twice as less) than maintaining, buying, and producing nuclear weapons.

OOC: Just so you know, you wont have much mony left over from your nuclear program to supply a conventional military (navy, army, airforce, etc). Plus, unless you go around pissing people off, no one will bother you, so having nukes isnt necessary for younger nations. And it is the general feeling now a days that nukes are not acceptable during wars because no body deploys them right. Its alway "I send one hundred nukes at you". So again nukes are not needed. And finally, most nations under 300 mill pop get the ignore connon fired on them if they try to make/use nuclear weaponry.

The Grand Imperium of Risban is curious as to why such a small nation needs a nuclear arsenal? Clearly it can't be for merely defensive purposes of one buys over ten. To buy a nuclear weapon system would cost a fortune, and put your country in debt if you decide to put any funding into other areas, unless of course receiving loans or gifts. Your nation is fairly new to the international scene, thus meaning that no one is really out to get you. And, if someone were to attack you for no apparent reason, many in the international community will come to your aid.
So, again we ask: Why the need for a nuclear arsenal? We find it quite odd that the first thing a nation does when entering the international political stage is vow to get Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The Holy Empire of Shazbotdom doesn't feel the need to have Nuclear Weaponry Capabilities as most newer nations who have obtained them use them for pissing and dick-measuring contests. They use the whole "I have more missiles than you do" scheme with other smaller nations and it is getting absurd. We hope that you will not continue your attempt to gain Nuclear Weaponry just because all other newer nations have them.

We, the Government of Trolsk, protect the nation's soverign right to produce weapons. We have an aging nuclear arsenal still not in any use, so we will be donating some Trident submarine-based missles we have, around 40 in total, to the nation, so long as it swears to abide by the following terms:

To allow Trolsk to send inspectors to monitor their maintainance, and policy of deployment

To allow Trolsk to set up an Embassy within their capital city, any building will do, so long as it can support 50 administration staff, 30 guards, and the Ambassador himself

To become allies with Trolsk and set up an Independant committee dedicated to monitering the Nuclear Arsenals during the time between weapon inspections.

I urge the nation of USTIO not to follow in the arrogant and ill-fated foot-steps of King George of FC. His arrogant threats of violence have landed his nation in the middle of a war, and it would greatly sadden me to see another young nation consumed in the fires of conflict.

I do not play at being nuanced, George. Had I wanted to conquer USTIO, I would have simply done so. The government and people of USTIO have my word that I will not invade their nation with my armies. Nor will I send more soldiers than they request, nor will those soldiers, if sent, remain longer than the host wishes them to. Do not pretend to know how I and my nation operate.

Yes, I do have nuclear weapons, but fewer than you do [OOC: I only have 200, last time I looked you had 300]. Who is the more hypocritical now, my friend?
