President Blüme sat behind his desk and quietly cleared his throat, the Republic's flag a wallpaper behind him in the shot, the technician behind the camera counted down and in seconds, the President's visage was broadcast worldwide.
"My fellow citizens of the Republic and to all those of the world, I come before you today to inform all that as of this afternoon, with the permission of the National Senate, I have ordered the reactivation of the Aequatian Armed Forces Nuclear Corps, this includes the rebuilding of the nation's nuclear trinity in the form of Silo- and mobile-based ballistic missiles, submarine-launched missiles and arms delivered by strategic bomber.
I have called for this reactivation to prove that from now on, the Aequatian Republic is not afraid to take whatever measures necessary to meet our own ends and prove the age-old saying, the end justifies the means. This message also comes at a time when the first of the nation's space-based weapons comes into active service, Project: Hammer, a kinetic energy weapon which is capable of not only striking targets on the Earth's surface from orbit, but also eliminating enemy nuclear missiles and their launch facilities. The nation of Aequatio will finally be worthy to stand alongside her great allies with these new weapon systems and all those that are to come.

And with that final message, the broadcast ended and President Blüme stood up and walked out to the balcony to watch the night sky.
