A probe, similar to that of Voyager, traveled through space.....it had the folowing message:

This is the People's Republic of New Dornalia. If you get this message, then you are obviously a race that has achieved intelligence and space travel. We come in the name of the Workers and Peasants of New Dornalia. Our world is small, and our people are eager to meet new peoples and exchange in harmonious trades of technology and goods. We are not threatening, we simply seek to take our place in the stars with whatever great empires exist. We seek peaceful colonization of neutral worlds in the name of the People. We only ask for peaceful contact, again, and maybe some technological aid.

A scout ship drifting thought deep space as it's pilot finished up the latest report when the comm system pinged. "So there appears to be a new nation interested in space travel, Tinboy?"
"Yes sir?"
"Extrapolate the path of that probe and take us to the location that launched it."

The scout rotated and took off toward the source of the probe.

In the main control room of the Outpost, a silent ping appeared on the PsiScan on the hol-monitor.

The ensign at the console had picked up a faint transmission...

"Sir?" she asked...


Five minutes later:

A small probe sped through hyperspace, towards the origin of the launch vector of the small space probe.

"And you say they are intrested in trade and possibly friendship?" The Queen Sliver hissed in a questioning tone.
"Yes majesty." A synapse replied.
"Send the Weatherlight. We can trade some of our Tangleberries, and a few bottles of our fine Tangleberry wine." the Queen hissed. Soon, the Weatherlight jumped to Transwarp, and dropped out at the point where the probe came from.

A voice, hissing like a snake, but hissing in Common, hissed:
"Greetings, we are from The Eternal Dominion of Warhaven. We offer you greetings as you step into the vast reaches of space. We too come in peace. May we land, and perhaps, visit? We offer you a fine delicacy from our world, Tangleberries, and the delicous Tangleberry wine that they make."

Meanwhile, in the Premier's Quarter's:

"Yes.....several ships responded to our message. Got it...will respond."

Premier MacIntyre was calm, and cool. He had dealt with all kinds of things in his term-fighting invasions by elvin partisans, negotiating meetings in the Politburo, and conquering the San Joaquin Valley from the Catgirl Queen Murasaki-hime with just 500 men in a life or death war, holding it now with one fort made of concrete, trenches, logs, M2's and lots of Claymore mines. Now, he was gonna do first contact.

He went to the TV studio, and got out his notes. Clearing his throat, he signaled the cameras to begin transmission:

We encourage you to visit our land-we have recieved some communications already. We are located here (http://www.chulavistaca.gov/About/Maps/california_map.jpg), on the site of the old city of Los Angeles.....please send delegations, they are welcomed. We shall provide escorts once delegations land on the ground.

We are but one city, alas, for the bulk of the great civilizations on this planet was wiped out in a great atomic holocaust, and it took us many years to recover and assemble this city, where we are safe to develop new technologies and recover and repair old ones, discovered by Scavenger teams.

Do not be deterred by our status though. We are vibrant, and rich with culture. The People of New Dornalia are hardworking, and quite friendly, and are welcoming, and we certainly are not primitives.

To answer the message from Warhaven, we will take your wine and Tangleberries. In exchange, we shall grant you the gift of our best Scotch Whiskey, a very old pre-Apocalypse Glenlivet, circa 1902, and a basket of our best Granny Smith Apples. Rest assuredly, they are humble, but they are given with the best of will in mind.

Please....come in. We would like to meet you."

The Weatherlight lands. The ship itself is large and gray. Green light shines from it in various spots. It is modeled after a giant snake of some sort. At Chest level, a pair of arms extend from the body, at the end, instead of hands, are blade like talons. The Word Weatherlight glows on the side. what appears to be a hydra materializes infront of the ship. it has five heads. One Green, one blue, one black, one red, and one white. At its chest level, it has Five arms/talons similar to the ship. It merely sits there and waits for someone to come greet it.

The scoutship sent a message to the TV studio, "This is the Tinboy, requesting permission for first contact." So saying the ship touched down near but not to close to the Weatherlight.

Darth Deshoonde, one of Huntaer's many Kirtir(sith) lords was in command of this vessel. He was interested in meeting this new space nation. He knew of their "Special Abilities" and you can say that he was interested in

Before long, three Hip helicopters came to meet the craft. Out of the first stepped the Premier, and some of his staff.

Out of the the second and third Hips came a platoon of men from each, dressed in a mix of Soviet and American uniforms and armed, strangely, with CAR-21 rifles. They assembled in a line and assumed the position of port arms.

The Premier bowed and said, "Greetings. Welcome to New Dornalia. I am Premier Robert MacIntyre, leader of one the biggest band of civilized humans left here, and the most technologically advanced. Here's the gift we promised."

He handed the dignitary the Whiskey and Apples.

One of the men next to the Premier, the People's Commissar for Science, walked up to the Theaoite delegation. He bowed and said, "Good day. Welcome to New Dornalia. I am Ling Tsu-Kai, People's Commissar fo Science.
My Premier is greeting the Warhavenites, so please pardon us. It is an honor to have you here."

"We would be interested in a technology exchange, and more capable space vessels. We are indeed glad to meet you, and we are wondering if you'd like to stop by.

As for the Dark Academy, we are not sure.....what does it do?"

He then asked, curiously: "Do you have anything for, let's say, agriculture? We have great tools, but we'd like to make production more efficent without too much trouble. We're trying to get the San Joaquin Valley and other parts of California to be productive as they used to be."

She smashes on the side of the scout, "Hey tinhead, write out a datpad with info on hydroponics." A few seconds later a small grey box the size of a thick pocketbook comes floating out of the main hatch, she grabs it and offers it to Ling, "Does this help?"

The Ancestor spirits can open a doorway for us to any point in creation we desire within reason. As for the problems of your valley, we do not use technology for that, never have, never will. There is a druidess that lives on Mirroden. She keeps our worlds fresh and healthy. She is willing to teach others Druidry, if you want, we can take some of your young people back with us for her to teach. They would be gone for several years. We would request no one younger than 15 years of human age." The Overlord said.

"It can but I'd avoid using it on warships or combat vehicles as it can still burn, albeit it takes a lot longer to burn and a lot more heat." She replied.

Tsu-kai then said, "Hmm....are there such materials sutable for use in combat vehicles and spacecraft big and small, and possibly for infantry protection? Durawood would be good for housing and making homes definetly, but I am speaking of materials to stand up to the battlefield or to the rigors of space."

Druidry has magic yes, but it is more than that. The druidess explained it to me as being a way of life. Druids are nature's agents in mortal affairs where nature is concerned. Nature gives them power to do many things. Druids help the environment, make it stronger, remove the things that harm it, I have personally seen places where Druids live, and those places are among some of the prettiest places in creation.
