Very recently the Conservative party won a political election in NES with 35% of the vote. The Communist (Socialist) Party who were in gov't before had 30% of the vote, the Liberal Party had 15%, the Nationalist Party had 10% and Labour had 10%. The Conservatives who won removed the PM at the time; Dr Terence Proctor and replaced him with Mr Harold Durrell.

Since then there has been a struggle of power. The Communists and Labour Party briefly took power when they joined together and held a majority with 40% of votes. The Conservatives and Liberals have retailated by forming a coalition gov't between them and the Liberals and they have now formed what they hope will be a more long lasting gov't under a new PM: Mr Lawrence Strachan.

Mr Strachan (a Liberal MP) says he hopes to end political unstability in NES and deal with the issues at hand swiftly. This includes the re-sale of shipyards, military, the situation in Feline Catfish and the economy.
